He tilted his head as Herryk just burst into laughter as if Kettil had told the world's greatest joke and he just didn't realize it yet. When the laughter settled and then Herryk spoke again he just shrugged laughing a bit, "Ah, Herryk. I guess that is a truer comparison but you did say Freya is your best friend. That is what Lark is to me since childhood we have been thick as thieves."

Kettil clearly took things at a certain level when speaking to others.

The question struck him hard and made him look away from Herryk for a long moment just so he could gather his thoughts on this one. It wasn't the fact that Kettil was put off or even angry with the larger boil but there was some serious things he needed to figure out how to word them just so the larger boil understood, "Well. I see what you're sayin' and it is very wise," he began quietly as he glanced up at Herryk finally, "but Lar ... she never used to be like this at least not towards me. Not when we were younger and I dunno what changed but...She's still my Best Mate and....I don't think I can just disregard her like that. I do confront her about it when she's ... bein' a bit of a b***h."

Even if it starts a fight but at least she knows he feels he was being done wrongly by her.

Herryk grunted softly as the mulled over Kettil's words once more. Ghouls were very confusing things, and the sooner that Kettil learned this, the happier he would be. It had taken Herryk quite some time (and very many errors along the way) to figure out what made Freya tick. Communication, while difficult at times as it was hard for Herryk to put his feelings into words, was very important. The only ghoul that Herryk knew that was not completely and utterly confusing was Lattice. Perhaps this was why Herryk adored Lattice second only to Freya.

Herryk finally shrugged.

"Ghouls are like a puzzle that cannot ever be solved, friend. Herryk can only do his very best to make sure that Freya is happy, and if Freya is not happy... Herryk can only hope that Freya tells Herryk how to make her happy." He rubbed his chin with a broad hand, eyes narrowed as he contemplated a little further.

"Perhaps someone has hurt this Lark? Herryk does not know, but if this Lark is Kettil's very best friend, it should be simple to discuss it, hmm?"

Kettil glanced behind himself at Endzela and then looked back at Herryk with a small chuckle, "I guess that is true enough. Even my owl confuses me someti-OW." Endzela didn't seem to approve of being lumped in with 'other ghouls' as she reached down and tugged at one of the boil's dreadlocks rather firmly making Kettil wince and gently bat at his familiar. "Stop that, Endy. Jack," he said in an exasperated tone.

"It isn't like it's a bad thing to be confusing cause it keeps people on their toes," Kettil tried to patch things up with his owl and it seemed to work as she released the bit of hair with a soft huffing sound.

At the thought that someone hurt Lark the boil's face became a little dark for a moment before he simply said, "I'd go find who it was and beat their slimy faces in...That is if someone did hurt her and she finally told me." Kettil seemed rather adamant about this.

Herryk gave a little chuckle at the sight of Endzela tugging at Kettil's hair. He shook his finger jokingly in a 'tsktsk' gesture, his voice rich with mirth when he spoke again.

"Ohh, a naughty owl, hmm?" Herryk was obviously amused by the familiar's antics. He grinned for a few long moments before a more serious expression crept over his features.

"Herryk cannot claim knowledge of ghouls and lifelong friends," Herryk idly scratched at his shoulder as he contemplated his next words. "What Herryk is trying to say... is that... honesty is good. Kettil should ask his friend, 'Friend, what is wrong?' and perhaps things may become clear." Herryk shrugged and looked at Kettil earnestly.

"But as Herryk has said, Herryk does not know about lifelong friends." He shrugged again and leaned back in his seat, watching the other boil with interest.

"Mmm, naughty is a word for it," Kettil laughed and Endzela retorted with another tug at the unfortunate Reaper's hair. He gently reached back and batted at Endzela and eventually she relented.

There was a moment's pause as he pondered what Herryk responded with a new observation and simply nodded, "I would appreciate honesty. I will keep that in mind for when I talk to Lark about things." Kettil said sincerely and heaved a bit of a sigh before offering a smile toward the large boil.

He shifted and then took off a glove and offered it over toward Herryk in a sincere gesture, "Hopefully, from this point on we can be lifelong friends, hm?"

Despite the rough start, it did seem that Herryk would be a good boil to have in his corner.

Herryk chuckled and reached forward instantly to clasp the other boil's hand. He could see why Freya valued this boil's friendship, and Herryk didn't think that Kettil would do anything to put this new budding friendship in peril. Herryk liked to think he was a pretty okay judge of character -- after all, Freya was his ghoul and he'd made great friends in Lattice and Mort.

"Indeed," the draugr gave Kettil's hand a shake and releasing it before he slammed a fist atop the table.

"Herryk should get back to his dorm. He is planning a very special date with Freya and there is still much planning to be done." He beamed at the other boil before rising to his feet. "Perhaps this group date can be set up afterwards, hmm?"

A quick shake and it was pretty much set as far as Kettil was concerned. Nothing Herryk could do would probably shake the Reaper boil from the friendship - well there were some things but Kettil didn't foresee then occurring. There was only a small blink when the fist met the table giving it a minor tremble as a result.

"Alright, glad we got to air everything out between us, Herryk. It was crucial that we do," Kettil smiled lightly. Maybe now he'd go eat something he shifted to stand up on his feet, "I look forward to sendin' you a text when everything is set. Good luck plannin' the date."

Kettil masterfully hid any sort of disappointment and sadness he might have felt.

"This is good, then. Herryk will speak to Freya about this outing after their return from the small getaway." The draugr grinned broadly and clapped Kettil on his back before winking at Endzela almost flirtatiously.

"It was very nice to finally meet Kettil and his Endzela. Herryk is glad that everything is settled, and Herryk will send Kettil a message as soon as plans are made." One more clap on the shoulder and Herryk dipped his head in a nod before turning and making his way from the small eatery.

It was always nice to meet new friends, and Herryk was glad to have made another friend that he could share with Freya.

"Sounds good," he said in a chipper tone.

When Herryk winked at her the Owl giggled slightly and made a wink of the eye right back at him. She could flirt too! She was a free owl and no male owned her! Hah.

He lifted a hand and waved a little bit after the last clap on the shoulder. Each one Kettil received with quiet dignity and a smile. The boil found he had a lot to think about right now but first he would order some greasy fast food and digest that before he went about digesting his thoughts.
