S'drawn arrived with Skewth at the feast and gratefully accepted his riders knots. He grinned broadly at the Weyrwoman and thanked her for the honor. He then grinned at his dragon as they moved into the festivities. S'drawn waved to C'rci and walked over to the meat table to feed Skewth.

He grinned at Wykla who was nearby and dipped his head to her. Soon though his dragon spoke.

Mine...could we eat so I dont waste away?

"Of course Skewth," S'drawn immediately selected a suitable size of meat chunk and gave it to the hungry brown. S'drawn rubbed the unbloody hand over his dragons eyeridges. He was so lucky, as far as he was concerned his brown was the finest dragon out of the bunch. Not that the others weren't excellent dragons but this was HIS Skewth. He knelt in front of his dragon and hugged him, showing a rare moment of emotion.

Um mine? What are you doing?

"I have waited for you my heart."

As I have waited for you. However I am also waiting for meat.

"Right yes," S'drawn brushed an arm across his eyes and stood to feed his dragon more.

K’zair raised an eyebrow as he took the cup. “I’ll be sure to handle such a lady with the utmost care in that case,” he answered, his voice dropping richly. He didn’t dwell overlong in the moment though, and raised the cup of water in toast. “To Bolth and Arjikith. To their health and happiness, and to the heights they’ll rise to. May we both serve them as the best of riders and fulfill everything they saw in us yesterday when they first hatched and brought their bright shine into the world.”

As he finished the toast he looked to Arjikith, who had come to sit loyally once more by his side. The brown looked back at him with eyes that glittered blue and green and leaned his head trustingly against K’zair’s hip in complete trust. You could never be any less, and I could never aspire to more than the life we’ll share, the brown hummed.

C'rci arched her own brows in surprise at the rich tenor reply her lips quirking into an amused smile at the other male's actions. "Well in that case K'zair I shall look forward to a fine fair chase and I dearly hope you won't be too sore should a woman beat you out in a race." She answered with a playful wink having to get her last words in before raising her glass of water as well to toast their dragons a smile dancing on her lips.

"And may the wind favor their wings, thread never catch them, and let them soar through the skies like a pair of shooting stars." C'rci added in her part grinning lovingly down at Bolth who crooned up at her leaning into her leg as she sipped her toast lowering a hand to scratch his eye ridges.

We are One Mine. Ever the twain, thy and thine, never apart shall be me and Mine. Bolth murmured in her mind overwhelming his rider with his love and staunch support as she set her cup aside bending to wrap her dragon in a hug.

Of course my dearest Bolth. Light of my life.
She spoke stroking her blue's head as her lifepartner's eyes whirled blue green with pleasure. K'zair was certainly the interesting Weyrling, but he was merely a passing thought next to her handsome, gentle, wonderful Bolth. C'rci's dragon practically vibrated as he hummed out his happiness at his riders thoughts leaning into her adoringly.

Once it seemed that everyone had more or less settled, Eirlyn rose to her feet and tapped a little silver spoon against her goblet. Once relative silence had fallen she set the spoon back down and swept the hall with her eyes, her gaze coming to rest for a time upon each new rider and dragon.

"Welcome weyrlings. Welcome dragons," she began, her voice carrying clearly throughout the great hall. "You join the ranks of the dragonrider at a... trying time," though she hesitated for a split second there her voice did not falter, "but I trust that each one of you is up to the challenges ahead. The way may be rough, and the winds treacherous, but each of you now knows that you never face adversity alone." She paused again then, perhaps for thought or perhaps for effect, but in either case she soon continued; "As some of you may already know, at the council in Southern Weyr we elected to investigate these attacks and murders, to discover if, and how, they are connected. We will find those responsible. We will bring them to justice. I trust that all of you will keep your eyes and ears open, but in the immediate days to come you must look to your new partner and your bond first and foremost. Take care, young dragonriders, and my congratulations to you all once again."

Raising her glass signaled the end of the Weyrwoman's speech, and was followed by applause from all around the hall. Dipping her head slightly to her people the gold rider took a sip of her drink in toast to the new lives and bonds before resuming her seat and bending her head to continue her conversation with the headwoman, who sat at her left hand.

Morgaine had been, from the looks of it, the last to arrive at the feast. She had been busy with Palooth and her studies and had simply lost track of time. Plus she was still uncomfortable with being in rooms with lots of people. It was something that one day she would get over, perhaps she would even conquer her fear of catching diseases one day as well. But that is why she worked so hard on her studies during every spare minute. Now that she had Palooth to care for her spare time was a lot less. At least he slept a lot at the moment, and it was during those times that she found herself buried in old tomes gathering as much information as possible.

With Palooth following closely behind Morgaine made her way to a spot in the room that seemed to be less occupied by others. Here she could relax a bit and adjust to be surrounded by others before delving into conversation. Reaching down Morgaine idly scratched Palooth's head. The dragon cooed his approval while looking over the gathered riders, dragons and various guests. There are a lot of people here Mine." There were indeed a lot of people, and most of them she didn't know. "I see that Palooth. The sooner we get this over with the sooner we can leave." Palooth shook his head, he didn't want to hurry away from the feast and if needed he would do whatever he could to keep Morgaine here as long as possible.
