What? Just what? He was enjoying Lark's company and suddenly this thing popped up. He let out a small sound as he pulled away from Lark just enough so he could take the hit without harming Lark like he did earlier and then moved to give the Joy-creature a nice kick to the head.

Lark had a lot of pent up aggression. She wanted to stomp on those balls. All of the balls.

Except she tripped and landed right on her face. Only then did she think to summon Ben.

"SSSSSSHHHHH." The ballsnake wrapped around Lark tightly, winding around her waist and tightening painfully. "You're sssso loud, children. And put that thing away, I hate kangaroossssss."

Ben shot off without waiting for any order from Lark -- he slashed his forepaws at the ball-snake before returning to Lark worriedly. She'd been bashed up real good, and Ben was worried.

Was Kettil angry? Yes he was. His Best Friend just had the life squeezed out of her pretty much. He reached forward and crushed his fist up against the ball snake to get it let go. He felt the impact and hoped for the best.

Please don't be immortal Mister Ballsnake.

Before the ballsnake could make any more snarky comments, it was crushed, crumbled, and utterly destroyed by the duo. Little slivers of ornaments and glittery silver shards fluttered to the ground, useless, and eventually faded away.

Lark fell to her knees as the snake dissipated, bracing herself on the floor with outspread hands. Worried, Ben approached the ghoul and nuzzled her shoulder briefly before turning upset brown eyes towards Kettil.

"Gotta keep 'er safe, mate," the roo groused, nudging Lark once more. "We either gotta get 'er to th'infirmary or back t'the dorm. She can't take much more, Ket."

He stared down at the disappearing form of the ballsnake and then he heard Lark fall along with Ben's words and his eyes widened a bit as he quickly moved closer to her kneeling a little bit at her side. "I know Ben. We were trying to get to the infirmary but..."

They were still pretty close to the Dorms and he wasn't clear about where the infirmary was.

With or without permission given he started to carefully gather Lark into his arms, "What you think, Ben? I don't think I got it in me to take much more but...If I gotta we'll make a run for it."

Ben looked thoughtful. He peered at Lark who rested against Kettil's chest. Her eyes were closed but she looked like she could hear what was going on, what they were discussing.

"I can tell ya how t'get t'the infirm'ry," she mumbled softly against Kettil's chest, moving to wrap an arm around his neck. He felt so nice. So comfortable. It was perfect, the way he felt against her side.

Ben gave a little grunt, watching his reaper quietly before he turned those eyes to Kettil. "Well, if that's what she wants t'do, I reckon we best move fast."

Lark sighed softly, mumbling a few quick directions against Kettil's neck.

He just held her in his arms easily enough her weight felt oddly reassuring despite the rather poor situation they currently found themselves in. Kettil glanced down at her and nodded slightly before glancing up at Ben, "I hope it's safe there. If not we're pretty much screwed."

Kettil paused for a second or two as he listened to the directions given before he started to carry her toward the infirmary as he summoned Endzela to scout ahead for him it didn't take too long before she returned informing him of some of the wreckage that was rotted and busted pumpkins amongst other things making him stop and frown.

"Change of plans," he announced as he turned around and headed back toward the dorms with quick steps (at least as quick as he could go with his injuries). When they got to the dorms he simply carried her to her dorm taking a moment to open her door and wander in with Endzela flying in ahead of him.

Endzela giggled a bit, "That was a bit pointless~, we should have just stayed here."

Kettil shrugged uncaring as he moved and placed Lark on her bed, "Yeah, well at the time the idea was ... a good one."

Lark merely grunted when Kettil changed their destination. It wouldn't matter, really, and he was probably thinking about how much safer they would be back in the dorm as opposed to slinking around past angry snake-monsters and furious elves and teddy bears. Lark didn't care -- the truth of the matter was she'd much rather have him to herself back in her dorm room.

She was feeling tired and run down and furious that Kettil's time spent with her hadn't been the most ... laid back. Even still, Lark knew they were going to be safer in her room than they would be out in the open.

"Ket," the blonde ghoul mumbled, reaching out for him almost frantically. "Don't leave me. Stay. Don't go, please." If he left her alone now... Lark wasn't sure she could take it. Not after she'd just gotten him back.

"Need y'here w'me."

He was about to move away at least for a second when her pleading caught his attention he reached forward and brushed some of her hair from her brow and then took the hat he forgot to remove prior to hand it over to Ben to place wherever the 'roo thought it would be safest.

It wasn't until that he was sure everything was settled that he focused his attention on Lark, "Ya know I don't plan to leave you. Just relax, okay." He was trying to sooth her as he moved to sit on the bed near her.

"If you want I can make something warm to drink?" It was clear he had no intention of leaving her alone here right now.

That reassurance seemed to soothe Lark, and even Ben gave a satisfied grunt as he took the hat away and settled it on the kitchen table. The roo hovered there, not wanting to impede or stifle Lark. For all he knew, the ghoul needed air. Besides, Ben knew his Lark well, and despite the ways that she tried to hide it, Ben knew that she had feelings for Kettil. He wasn't sure how deep the feelings ran, but there was something there.

Lark shook her head and reached for his hand, intent on tugging him down on the bed.

"M'gut hurts," she groused, moving over so that he could rest next to her. "Jest... rest here w'me a bit." She offered a weak smile before her eyes flickered closed again.

Endzela merely perched on the back of some seating and just sat there for the time being. Things were ... quiet here. Nice. Warm. Yes, she liked it best inside right now.

Kettil blinked at her hand in his and the feel of her tugging. If she didn't have want or need for anything he supposed there was no harm in just laying down with her. Quietly he moved to lay down a bit moving to where he could face her while his arms carefully moved to where he could wrap them around her. "I'm sorry, Támit. I wish I could make it better for you." A hand moved to idly rub at the middle of her back in a soothing fashion.

This was like old times whenever she was upset and he could tell he would old her. Always. It was something he'd continue to do for all time no matter what came between them or so was the hope.

Lark moved in closer, her eyes still closed. She gave a troubled sound as she made herself more comfortable against his body. It felt so right. This was how it should be for the rest of her life, there was no doubt in her mind. And yet... Kettil didn't feel the same. He didn't feel the same and so perhaps in a way, Lark was determined to spend the rest of her life in this one-sided relationship with him.

It didn't matter. She had this moment, and it seemed like she wanted to discuss a few things with Kettil. A few things that, should he mention them when she was feeling better, would likely earn him a black eye or a bloody nose.

"Ket," she grumbled, trying to get as close as she could. It was almost as if she was trying to get inside of him -- that's how close she wanted to be. "Why d'ya like Freya? What... what's she got?" That I don't?
