Eric chuckled, it was mostly true. He was somewhat of a problem to himself, and though he liked the life he was living it wasn't... well, all that sane.
"Guilty as charged."
He smiled.
"And yes, I’m pretty much the exception there too. And I'm not completely daft, when I really need help I do ask for it. Every now and again I get a job to build up enough money to quit, though it gets harder each time, I don’t get very good references, you know? But I get along. I've eaten at my share of soup kitchens and spent my share of evenings in a shelter, and that’s why I give my stuff away to them. I try to repay those debts, just like I try to repay the debts of those people who let me stay on their couches."
He shifted the box in his arms to pat Jett on the shoulder.
"Or give me a lift to the library, though it might take time."
He laughed softly, trying not to raise his voice too much.

Debt? Eric thought that Jett giving him a ride was enough to warrant him to be in Jett's debt?
...Well, all right. Jett wasn't going to argue that. Though, not only did Eric not have much to offer, it didn't seem like he had anything Jett wanted, anyway. He was already getting information about the senshi when he could, and that alone warranted kindness towards Eric. He didn't bother to point out that Eric was not really in debt to Jett in anyway, particularly given the fact that Jett had already been headed to the library--and Eric was now helping him unload his boxes, which was just saving Jett time.
"If you say so," he shrugged slightly, ignoring the hand. "So, are you planning on hanging out here until after this storm, or are you just returning a book and going to run out of here and try and beat the rain?"

Eric dropped off Jett's donations in the donation box.
"Actually I was thinking about checking a book out, I didn't have much to do today so I thought I'd read a bit. However, I didn't really expect this weather. Not sure on how I'm going to get a book home in all this... I will probably just wait out the storm here after all."
He glanced at the window, the sky had finally opened up and the rain was coming down in sheets. He was happy he hadn't been out there for that, he'd still only be halfway here on foot.

Jett did not look amused as he followed Eric's gaze out the window. "...Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. We can't all be that lucky, though. Traffic's going to be a b***h and I still want to grab something to eat before I get to work, so I'm gonna have to head out, now. Thanks for helping me carry this s**t it. Good luck getting home," he said, still watching the downpour outside. "...Hope this clears up in a bit. I can't wait, though--see you later, Eric. Good to know you're alive and kicking."

Eric nodded.
"Aye. I’ll call you sometime and you can come on over. Now that I've got the house myself we can sit around and play video games or whatever, and talking about sky watch. Maybe I can bring you to go meet Remarque, I think he’s going to be a good ally and it'd be good for you to meet him. What do you think?"
Eric hadn't forgotten about sky watch so much as he just hadn't been seeing anything, which was bugging him. Maybe a more detailed attack strategy... Jett would definitely be of help in that.

Yeah...that was going to be awkward. And kind of hard for Jett to arrange given that he was Remarque.
"Yeah," he drawled, and then nodded. "All right, we'll plan for that some time. I'd like to hear what you've found out. I chatted some people up, got some information. We'll have to swap tails. Ah," he gestured towards the window and the downpour outside. "Rain check, though? Give me a call whenever you're free, I'll move my schedule around and we can, ah, yeah, talk about what we've found out. See if there's anything interesting we can use."

Erik nodded.
"Aye, we’ll have to do that. And I’ll try to get more information. I might go see if Remarque can tell me anything else, run by the park he told me to meet him in. He might be able to tell me something about the senshi and their powers."
He shrugged.
"He might have learned something too, he was supposed to be keeping an eye open for us."

"Oh--well, awesome," Jett said, flashing another hasty smile. He offered Eric a thumbs up as he zipped up the jacket he was wearing and then looked at the doorway with disdain. "Good luck with that. See you later," he said with a slight wave before he turned, now trying to figure out the best way to get out of 'meeting up' with Remarque.
He knew better than to dread the day--he was smart enough to find some way to get out of the situation. He knew Eric wasn't the brightest person he'd ever met, but neither was the male stupid; he didn't want to make him suspicious.
