"Wooooo, vacation!" Bul shouted in a very snide, peanut gallery fashion towards the authoritative figures at the front of crowd. Did he take this seriously? Oh sure, but there was hardly any surprise now especially after his chat with Nox. Look, if he looked like he don't care, then they don't care.

It was brilliant.

The murmurs and shouts reached a great way, and it was only a matter of time before Rikki heard.

CLOSED?!

He pushed his way to through the crowd, trying to see what was going on, and glared at the sign that pronounced the students would have to relocate. He hissed out his displeasure along with the rest of them, his stained hands curling into tight, angry fists.

The school couldn’t close. He was so close to his exams, so close to being a knob, so jacking close! If it closed he’d have to give all of that up and go back to living under the disappointed care of his parents. He couldn’t go back to that. He couldn’t stand to wake up every morning and descend the stairs to the disapproval on his parents’ faces again. Not only that, but things were so new with Danny, so exciting. School was the safe ground he could pursue that under without having to worry about her brother, or having to lie to his parents about his intentions. He couldn’t just let that go without fighting for it, right?

“You can’t close the school!” He roared angrily at the boogeymen. “This is our HOME. Sure school sucked, but it had become home. His room was here. His minis. His friends. Hell, his friends were more family than he had at home. He would even admit that he enjoyed a class or two here and there.

Rengath looked devastated at the sign. He’d just gotten the theater all ready, (he’d gotten gnomes to get it ready), the cast for the school play chosen, (a play he had devised while half drunk on cider), and now-

“WOE! Woe be the beloved establishment.” He pulled out a withered red rose and tossed it at the school. “Twas not meant to be, this love of mine. Let me but embrace you for a while longer~”Realizing he was being a touch melodramatic, the new theater teach gave very heavy, probably very much practiced, sigh of resignation. “I suppose I will have to make due with what I have."

He pulled about five more withered red roses and tossed them onto the school steps.

Whether Natalia was too upset to really recollect their most recent encounters or she had simply put them all behind her.. it was difficult to tell as her gaze moved quickly to Ren, then to Tset, and then back to the Boogymen. Her lips peeled back in a snarl, white canines flashing and clicking irritably as a slow nod of her head acknowledged the gryphon. "I KNOW!" Suddenly her hands flew up into the air.

"I can not believe this! Why now?! Where the hell do they expect us to go?!" Pausing to breath, her orange eyes met with the two standing beside her once again; trying to offer a softened greeting. "It is good to see you both, by the way."

She gave Ren a particularly long stare, before the rage-button was pressed 'on' once again.

"But jack DAMN! You can not do this to us!" A fist shook toward the Boogymen.

A hand reached blindly out, grabbing onto her ghoul friends skirt. Looking up at her desperately she half whispered to Alwine, "W-We can run away together, yeah? No need for either of us to go back to our families...."

Oh Jack this couldn't be happening, it had to be a joke, a dream, a cruel cruel nightmare. Anything but reality. Amity couldn't close.

He nudged the taller monster with his wing. “But we kicked up a fuss. We tried to make it public and we were not very secretive about it. The horsemen even-“ A visible shudder went through him, feathers ruffling. “They went with that one. The school let them stay here and yet they still went with that one.” The one, being the hunter. “It’s like my flock back home. When one fledgling breaks the rules-“ A glance at the sign. “The whole flock gets punished.”
Another nudge. “…..but even so, there is nothing to say the fledgelings cannot fight back. I still can’t breathe fire though, so that will have to wait.” Vandalism? On the sign? Perish the thought.

Mort was lost. Absolutely lost. Lots of shouting, angry students, boogeymen . . . It was like the haunted house all over again, only without bloodshed. But it sure looked like it was building up to some.

He picked up one of Rangath's roses and huddled close to his friend Herryk, watching as both other friends and new acquaintances begin to boil. "What do t-to get this?" he asked the giant of a boil. "What do . . .?"

They kept saying they couldn't close the school. But it frightened Mort to think that boogeymen, in fact, probably could.

"Sh-Should try find friends, make b-big group, stop them . . ."

Mmm.

So mad.

Sure, some of them were scared or heartbroken, but that wasn't why West was here. Jericho, Herryk, Cricket. They really didn't know just how delightful they were being right now.

If he had thought about the situation a bit - and actually read the sign everyone was getting so worked up over - he would have realized that this was quite a big deal. He didn't want to go home. His situation was much less dire than Ren's or Tset's, but, well, his other school had sucked. Life before this had sucked. He was finally learning things that didn't revolve around catering to his parents.

West sidled closer to Mandy, Alwine and Belladonna, and was about to ask them why they were so damn sad (be angry ladies, please) when he heard someone shout something about closing.

He looked up, finally noticing the Bogeymen and Amityville's irate school secretary. And the sign.

"Oh."

"Sounds to me like they're doing the white coats a favor by doing this!" The black dog spat, as he came up to stand beside the gryphon; teeth clenched together in a snarl.

What bullshit! This was how they were going to solve things? By closing the school? The one place that was helping them prepare against this new threat? Sure they've had a few issues, but that was hardly the school's fault and what were they to do now? He couldn't just pack up and leave. Besides, what good would that do? Its not like the threat would just disappear, it would probably only get worse!

"I don't know about you, but there is no way I'm just going to take this one sitting down. I can't go back home. Not yet."

Fell pushed through the surprisingly large and angry crowd growing at the gates, Kingsbane following silently behind her. Unlike many of the students, the two of them were oblivious to the situation going on here, but she could tell, from the furious expressions and the yelling, whatever was going down it wasn't good...

She continued to weave through the crowd, catching bits and pieces of peoples conversation as she did so. From what she heard, there was talk of the school closing, but that couldn't be true, there was no way it was going to close... Right?

Spotting one of the few familiar faces she knew and trusted, she approached, tugging lightly on the woman's scarf.

"Umm... Nurse Cricket... what's going on? Is it... true what they're saying?" She asked, eyes wide with worry.

Avery was also present, a grim expression on his face and arms crossed firmly over his chest. The behemoth had been here from the start, but unlike the rest of the crowd, he showed no signs of anger, nor did he say anything in the school's defense.

The fact was the school was closing. That probably was not going to change. Anything anyone said or did now would be next to pointless, a waste of breath and to be honest, he saw it coming. With all the recent events going on and now the ongoing issue with those hunters, it was bound to happen sooner or later. What he was surprised about, was that this was permanent. He would have expected a temporary shut down. A break. So that decisions could be made and problems dealt with.

"What of the students that have no where to return to? Or refuse to go home?" He asked, keeping all emotion out of his voice as he addressed one of the two boogeymen present.

Tsetsiliya had secretely hoped that Ren would have some kind of idea what might be going on, but she quickly realized that this was a hope in folly. He, like every other student in the crowd, was at a loss. Instead, she dropped her gaze to the floor and nodded gravely. "They.. they cannot.. they cannot."

When the gyphon rested his hand on her shoulder, she felt the not-oft felt stinging sensation behind her eyes, but she pulled it back, swallowing tremulously. Her hands gripped her skirt and bunched up the material in agitation when Ren spoke again. Her glassy gaze met his again, her mouth slightly parted. She closed it slowly and nodded, allowing Ren to lead her over to the familiar werelemur. Her eyes lit up momentarily, since this had been the first time she had seen Natalia since they had passed their exam together.

There was no way they could let Amityville close.

"Y-yes," she said quietly. "This.. we must do something." She wasn't entirely sure what she could do, but for Jack's sake, she was willing to do whatever she could.

"The horsemen agreed with him on our behalf," Jericho growled lowly, "Basically if they agreed to go, we were freed."

At Israfel's second comment, his golden eyes glinted a bit. Oh. It was tempting. So. Damn. Tempting. To burn down the Jacking sign. As the Siren said though, it would have to wait. Torching the sign in the face of the boogeys would likely only get them all into more trouble.

That didn't mean the thought was incredibly tantalizing to think about.

Family.

Oh Jack, Alwine hadn't even considered that.

In her mind the headless haunt could see the high-necked lace collars of her sisters, the monocles being polished and held up to a non-existent eye to glower down at the prodigal daughter. The Van Brunts were too good for Amityville, after all. Jack, they would be ecstatic when they heard the news! Alwine would be back to fade into the background. Alwine would be back to cling to the walls at social events. Alwine would be back to take on the yoke of the useless daughter.

"Where would we go?" the faint voice reached Mandy's ears. "What about our pets? What about everything that we had here? What about... I don't know..."

She looked up at West (though he probably couldn't tell) and just shivered. He looked... well, he always looked mad, but something about him seemed different. Alwine had expected him to explode louder than all the rest. His "oh" had sounded so... not-yelling.

"West?"

It was almost a plead. Please yell!

"You don't fight boogeymen? Candlejackin s**t on a stick, man, that's exactly what you do." Nahm's eyes were narrowed to furious slits under his hood. "They're a bunch of jackdamn bullies and strongarms, that's what they are. This can't be right. Somebody's got it out for the headmaster or the professors or something."

Genevieve gave the baku a small nod, affirming that she was who Xiu said she was. "Yeah, Gene if you'd like. Normally I would invite you to coffee, on me, but..." Yeah, that probably wouldn't happen right now. There was just too much crap going on at the time.

Or wait, maybe she would get to have coffee... incognito coffee."Actually, why don't you drop by Bloodbucks at the Maul soon? I'll take my lunch break, and you can tell me all about this then, yes? If you're okay with that, anyway."

She gave a sigh, looking at the general clamor in front of them. "Surely we could muster forces or something...

"No, it is not." Cricket said firmly, obviously inclined to battle this supposed ruling to close down 'their' school, reaching out to pat the ghoul on the head lightly. "Don't you worry your little head, alright? We're not just going to roll over and take this."

This was their home as much as the students', after all.
