Monochrome Haseo So the first 3 who defeat tier 3 win? Yes, however there will likely also be other prizes for RP related things, and potentially prizes for randomly decided things once Kenny gets off his butt and sorts it all out.

WhiteJoker BushidoBlaaster Is there a use of epic failing or hitting for a chance of a critical strike? i.e rolling double 20 for crits or rolling double 1 for epic failing. I see you figured out where this game cribbed it's mechanics from. But no, there are no critical fumbles or critical hits simply because that would confuse people who aren't used to the system. I was just going to suggest that for a future game there be nat crits written in. It makes for a more interesting game and it's really not that much harder to get if you can get the basics of this. I think it totally makes it easier for those roleplaying as well. 3nodding

That said, if you want to incorporate criticals into your roleplay you certainly can after what is one person's "overkill" is another's sensible reaction; besides, if you do it creatively you can justify a bare hit with a single point of damage as something truly epic when you take into account that you're going up against an army. Sure you may have only done a tiny bit of damage to the army as a whole but what's to say that your one point of damage wasn't something that brutally massacred that one Zero bot that was in front of you? Or perhaps it was an artful deflection that turned a near disaster into a graceful recovery? Perhaps your strike utterly devastates the entire army as you unleash nuclear inferno upon the wicked things but lo and behold, Zero's vile cruelty knows no bounds and he has imbued them with a shard of his infinite evil allowing them to shamble on as shattered husk to menace you anew! Remember that while the numbers matter, what you RP is almost entirely based on you and as long as you can justify it to yourself then it's fair game. Certainly take inspiration from what the numbers tell you but if you think about how you want to portray things, you can manipulate them to say nearly anything you want provided you give it the right context and creativity. What's important is to have fun with it and if the numbers won't let you do that, well, throw them out and make something up to explain why you still have to keep fighting even though you destroyed the universe to plug a leaky faucet, or why despite screwing up horribly, you still won in the end. Keep in mind the numbers still matter for the game and I am in no way saying that you can just declare yourself victor even if you rolled two ones; all I'm saying is that with the right... flare, what the numbers say doesn't have to confine how you RP.

I understand that I cannot make my rolls count against tier 2 until the 12th, however I often don't go on Gaia during the day and I'm quite sure that I'll be up late on the 11th [read: Organic Chemistry Final]. May I roll [in Gaia time], on the 12th, and when the enemy is posted, make those rolls count towards them, so I don't "forfeit" a day?
Basically, I'm asking can I roll my dice on the 12th at 12:01 am and count them towards the tier 2 enemy even if it hasn't been unveiled ?
Edit: Also somebody else is rolling in my thread now...

I know it sucks but part of this game runs on the expectation that people show up regularly to do it so no, you have to wait for it to come out. As for the latter, tell them to make their own thread and if they keep it up you can bug Kenny to deal with them.

I just had a quick question.
I came into the modmas a little late and made my first post tonight. My settings had the time set to my timezone, which is EST. When I posted, the time stamp on my original post was 12:32am, technically December 11th for me. Both my attacks were time stamped at 12:33am and 12:36am. I re-read the rules, and saw that I missed the timing requirements... all posts were being judged in PST. I changed my timezone settings to PST, and my time stamps went from 12:32am, 12:33am, and 12:36am to 9:32pm, 9:33pm, and 9:36pm, December 10th. My question is... would I be within the rules to post again later today? I just wanted to ask because I didn't want to accidentally disqualify myself.
Thank you for the help!

Thank you for the help! Just use your own timezone; the PST indicator is largely there to make things easier on Kenny when he releases things or sets deadlines to end things but by large it won't have any real impact on you. What this also means is that Kenny, and whoever gets tricked into helping him, isn't going to be counting exact seconds to verify the 2 rolls per day rule but rather just checking to make sure you don't have more then two rolls listed per day and the time between rolls seems reasonable. So in order to avoid disqualifying yourself you're better off avoiding saving up your rolls and timing them so you post out four at a time and instead roll twice, go away, come back sometime the next day, and repeat. With regards to your example, I went over your thread, and I suggest you wait before rolling again.

I got confused because when I changed the timezone to the one being judged in, my posts went back 3 hours, and technically that was December 10th. I guess when my posts are judged (if I even qualify for judging), the time stamps will show December 10th and then December 12th, since I need to wait until tomorrow. I'll miss a day. I guess that's what I get for not posting 30 minutes earlier. emotion_facepalm
Thanks so much for the help. 3nodding

Little Dead Soldier So, if we don't kill 3 Zero Bots by 12/12 we don't win? You need to win at level 1 before you can go to level 2. You only need to win the Zero bot army once to go to level 2. You could, in theory, wait until the end and have a super lucky streak and win it all late in the game, but the wait between the tiers are to even the odds. You're fighting the zero bot army as a group, so you don't need to win it once for each image or anything either.

Dear Uncle Kenny,
Are the names of Gaians listed in the "Victories" section the only Gaians who are currently eligible to win the prizes? Is there, in other words, a cutoff that we have to make in defeating each tier in order to be eligible to have a chance at winning the prizes?
Faithfully,
Your Niece wink

Faithfully,
Your Niece wink The names in the "Victories" thread are the individuals that have been verified by myself as having defeated the first tier. I have about 4 pages of victories to look through now so the list will likely grow larger. Only after you have defeated the first two tiers are you eligible to fight the third tier for the chance at winning. Hopefully that clears things up ^^

This is somewhat similar to the question above, but I'm still not sure sweatdrop
If our name isn't listed in the victories as defeating Tier 1 because it hasn't been looked at yet can we still start on Tier 2? Or do we have to wait for our name to go up on the list? ^^
