Calder was still frowning, but more for the point he had to wait and have his date mixed up by this heavy news. He'd have rather digest it back at the dorms before going out to eat. "Next time, Barth. Important things are told before I get excited about going out to eat." He set the menu down, before looking back at the boil.
"For that, I should tell Grimhold to make you walk three blocks before he takes you home." He was serious about this threat. Barth deserved some form of punishment.

Eventually Sammy just leaned over elbows on the table face in her hands rubbing wearily at her face, half scratching half rubbing her eyes to hide the tears of frustration. "Not married. Engaged. Right. Legal political bullshit..." she mumbled.
She continued to rub at her face. "No because I'm not happy, at all, I wanted to do this, I wanted to be the one engaged to you. And what happens when you break it off after school, everything just works out perfectly right? You're out of school so its okay to just have your family start hating you then?"
When Siddie spoke again she grew quiet slowly slumping into the table arms crossed head ontop of them. She didn't say anything else she simply lay there quietly now, trying hard not to cry at all.

The waitress came back with drinks, and asked if they were ready to order.
Barth sheepishly asked for a Chain Rattling Burger, and if she could please bring it out already cut up.
He did not look suave or readily placating at Calder's statement, just more guilty.
"Sorry," he repeated miserably.

From her spot on the table she raised a single arm waving lazily, "I'll take the biggest burger you have, rare please. Extra hot sauce please." She lowered her arm again laying against the table still. Waiting for the waitress to leave.

"Just a weed salad, please," Siddie said softly. She hadn't had any appetite to begin with, but she could at least carry out the polite motions.
She didn't answer Sammy's question; if she did, she was going to cry after all.

Calder looked to the three people around him, and started to frown. They all looked on the verge of tears and the happy image of a double date at a nice restaurant was going down hill fast. He wasn't going to let this experience get ruined!
He looked up at the waitress, who seemed to have no idea what was going on and was frowning at one of the saddest groups she probably saw that night, and waited for his order to just be allowed to leave. "This one." Calder said, pointing out the burger Barth suggested and then handed her his menu. The waitress nodded and walked off as fast as was polite.
"Alright. Listen here." He rose his voice, trying to get their attention. "Okay, here are the facts. Barth should have told us. Bad on him, but he told us. Siddie, you don't like him, Barth likes me, and Sammy wants to be with you. So all engagements aside, this table recognizes things as they are. You and Siddie." To which she pointed to Sammy. "And me and Barth. That's it. That's all that matters. Who knows what is going to happen after graduation. I don't want to think about it. What I do want to do is enjoy the first time I've ever been to a restaurant. Can we do that? For me, cause I did not get prettied up to be surrounded by sad faces. So help me, if I have to tickle each one of you, I will. I will FIND a ticklish spot if it kills me." The kelipe was dead serious as he regarded all three of them.
With that, he turned to Barth and pointed to his cheek. "You can start making up by giving me a kiss." Yeah. He was going to be demanding tonight.

"Well they're not strictly, um," Barth looked at Siddie and Sammy, a little distracted, before having his cheek poked and being tugged slightly downward.
"I didn't know it was your first time at a restaurant," he said, sounding concerned and not complying immediately.

Sammy looked up, but only when Calder spoke, for a while she just kind of sat there somewhat stunned at the small Kelpie getting so, bold? She was a bit off guard for his out burst but he laid the facts out plain as day, and for someone who was just getting into the situation seemed to have a level head.
He also apparently just wanted a nice meal.
Slowly Sammy sat up letting out a deep long sigh, with a slight 'ugh' under tone as she did. "Tickle me. And I'll call you the M word little Kelpie." She pointed a single finger at him as she said this while taking a moment to run her other hand over her eyes clearing up any last hint of tears.
Eventually she turned to study Siddie, she was different, she had been, bold, almost outgoing during all of this, she had even gone as far as to call her Samantha of all things. For a long moment she watched her before reaching over tugging the smaller ghoul into a kiss, eyes watering slightly.
"Do not lie to me, do not hide things from me Siddie so help me Jack you do it again it will kill me." She kissed her again, "I'm sorry. For yelling. But please... when you said what you did... it hurt. A lot." With that she pulled back to her corner of the booth, she did not blush easily but her eyes clearly showed how she felt about having just done what she did.

Siddie hadn't expected Sammy to kiss her. The shock of the sudden touch and the sheer, weightless relief she felt at being forgiven at all brought tears spilling down her cheeks, and it took her long moments to feel up to speaking gain. She wiped her sleeve across her eyes. "I promise," she said, with all the sincerity she could put into her tone. "I promise you I won't ever keep anything from you again. I'm so sorry." She swallowed, and reached out hesitantly to rest her hand on Sammy's. "I - I love you."

Calder smiled as they kissed, and then kissed again. While Barth had started to say something to clear that they weren't at that point, it seemed that Calder's assumption was right. They were in love. He smiled, glad the mood was changing to a romantic dinner date like how he first hoped, and then his smile went a bit more somber, and then into a a frown.
Why did they get to make out?
Calder turned to Barth, wanting to kiss him too. Makeup kisses! Calder leaned over, draping his arms around Barth and leaned in to kiss him. He might have leaned in a bit closer, kissed a little longer, and heck, maybe there was tongue somewhere in there, but he wasn't about to be outdone by some ghouls. Gravity took hold and they vanished from sight for a moment, only to have Calder pop up like a daisy as if nothing had happened.
The perky smile said otherwise.

Sammy jumped, ever so slightly, when Siddie found her hand on her lap. Bone's twined with flesh and Sammy squeezed tight onto Siddie's hand nodding as she spoke. When the two boils fell under the table Sammy's eyes went slightly wide but took that moment to steal another kiss from Siddie before shifting back to her seat, never letting go of that hand between them.
When the other two rose she only shook her head at Calder before turning to Barth. Her right hand slid across the table towards the demon, a fire forming around it, when she pulled it back her dog tag pin was laying between them.
"I still don't like this to be honest," she added at she nodded towards the pin, "But I'm trusting you Barth. You were with me during exams... you saw what happened with Red." She nudged it towards him again, "I'm trusting you with Siddie."
"Don't make me regret this Barth."

Barth came back to the tabletop a lot more ruffled and a lot more slowly, and trying very hard to keep a serious face, but finding a silly, pleased expression kept creeping in.
"Yes," he said, "You err, you don't have to worry."
Barth formed his own pin, nudging it with a single claw towards Sammy.
"I'm trusting you too. Regardless of what...happens in the next few years, this conversation can't leave this table."

Siddie stared for a moment at the empty space across the table, then found herself being kissed again. She relaxed a bit more this time, the tight chill knot in her stomach unraveling slowly. She clasped Sammy's hand tightly, still shaky from the emotional rollercoaster they'd all just been on.
At the exchange between Sammy and Barth, she nodded a little. "Agreed," she said, as steadily as she could manage, and closed her free hand briefly. When she opened it again, three pins lay there; one she gave to Sammy, the second to Barth. The third she held a moment longer, giving Calder a nervous look. "My promise to you that I'll keep my word,' she said, and put the pin down in front of him.

There was an awful lot of pin exchanging going on, and Calder looked over as Barth made a promise to Sammy, and then Siddie offered her own to all of them. Calder looked at the pin, and glanced back up to the ghoul. She was still a stranger to him, but he greatly appreciated the promise. However, awkwardness and pressure aside, he could not exchange. It had taken him a long while for him t even give his pins to his best friends, and that was even after they had saved his life on several occasions.
Instead, he picked it up and held it. "Thank you." He didn't have to make any such promise here as Sammy was a ghoul and he had 0 interest in that department.

Sammy collected the pins offered to her in turn, scooping up Barths and Siddies squeezing them tight causing them to vanish in a flicker of purple flame back where her own and Hellma was stored.
"Not a word, promise."
She didn't take offense at Calder in the least regarding his Pin. He was a wild card in this to her still she settled back in her seat, wrapping her hand around Siddie's again enjoying the comfort of her warm flesh that she had gone lacking lately after they had their fight.
Even as they held hands something would form between them, one of Sammy's own pins privately finding it's way into Siddie's palm.
