The lycan smiled warmly as Shun leaned forward to pull her into an embrace. Gently she nuzzled her cheek against his for a moment before she took up the story once again. As promised it seemed to pick up. Almost immediately after the heroine arrived to this new world she was left to her own devices and trapped in the midst of a duel. Fighting seemed to be a key element to the book and the characters seemed to be mostly reapers with the way they summoned their weapons from common items like a cane or a hat.

Just as the story was getting heated in the midst of a fight Mitsu's reading began to falter. She blinked for a moment staring at the page that had been rather clear before but now was rather blurry like she was looking through rippling water. Finally instead of trying she paused for a moment rubbing at her eyes. Maybe the lack of sleep was getting to her. "Sorry...I think I might be tired."

Pulling her hand away from her eyes Mitsu looked at the page again. It was blurry for only a moment longer before everything finally came back into focus. "Yeah, I'm alright."

She giggled lightly from the kiss leaning in toward Shun for a moment. Even though it was at the base of her neck it was still a little ticklish and made her wiggle slightly from the feel of it. "How about I finish this chapter and maybe we can just rest? That way you have something to look forward to the next time." Yes, she fully intended to read to him again.

"I won't," Mitsu nodded before she turned back to the book picking up a little before where she left off to help them get back into the story. The fight was intense it seemed but ended rather abruptly when the master of the mansion, Hatter showed up. For some reason he seemed familiar to the heroine but it wasn't exactly explained as she fled the scene searching for a safe place to stay.

Chapter two finished, Mitsu marked their place with a little book mark and closed the book and set it aside. She wasn't ready to move though, she was rather content and comfortable where she sat and only snuggled further into Shun's hold. Laying there in his warm embrace made the need for sleep creep up on her, her eyes drifting to a half opened state. She always felt safer when with him. "What do you think of the story so far?"

Laying back with her was going to do her in, Mitsu could already feel her mind shutting down for sleep while she was surrounded by this comforting feeling she didn't know when she was by herself. Snuggling into his hold all the more she smiled sleepily.

"I haven't read many stories...but..its fun." Her words were becoming drowsy and she stifled a small yawn behind her hand before she relaxed against him completely. "You're welcome..." Turning her head she placed a light kiss on his cheek.

Mitsu smiled brightly despite how tired she was. That was really the only reassurance that she needed. "Love you," She said softly as her eyes drifted closed. Only moments later it seemed she had drifted off to sleep, her breathing now deep and steady. There were no nightmares though, only pleasant dreams knowing Shun was near and would be there when she opened her eyes once again.

Fast asleep almost immediately it didn't take long for Mitsu to begin dreaming. At least with Shun close by, feeling his warmth around her, her dreams were pleasant. They mostly revolved around spending time with the reaper and her friends and thinking about all the fun times they had had since she arrived at school.

At some point though that changed, she had been shifted in her sleep and she felt suddenly cold. Her dream took a dive at that point, the scene playing in her head going from her friends all sitting together at the school to suddenly them sitting at the canyon. A chill ran down her spine as she looked around but saw no one. Maybe...this strange scene would fade. About to tell her friends that they should leave a giant hand suddenly took hold of her lifting her off the ground. Mitsu shrieked in surprise looking back to see that it was Red's monstrous form that had her. Wiggling and twitching trying to break free she only watched in horror as Red's other hand came down on top of her friends crushing them.

Mitsu's screaming and thrashing wasn't just reserved for her dreams alone. She began to writhe on the bed she had been left alone on for only a short time, sounds of protest escaping her mouth until she finally screamed out a rather loud "NO!"

The dream hadn't just stopped with Red crushing her friends. As the monster's hand rose she saw they were still in place and looked mostly unharmed. Mitsu yelled for them to run, to make it to somewhere safe but they weren't moving. Not a muscle. It was then that she saw that eerie gray creep over them as the color drained away. Soon they were nothing more than statues that began to crack and crumble to dust.

It was at that point that Shun's arms found their way back around her and Mitsu's thrashing began to still. As he nudged her and spoke to her the lycan's eyes began to flutter open, her eyelashes wet from tears that had started to gather in her sleep. It took her a moment of staring at the reaper in almost disbelief that he was there before she wrapped her arms around his neck and shoulders to hold him close.
