King Moriate

The elf, Dythus Ashizi, was the first to respond. His explanation was a fair one, and Moriate nodded his understanding. "A chance is what most need. Very well, Elf Dythus. May you assist the Princess to the land of your kin in safety." The elf's words made him realize a little that perhaps what the others also sought was a chance. A chance to prove they were more than their race made them to be. The fact that Dythus was with a Gith woman was not something that slipped past the king. He knew that look of longing; he'd felt it, once upon a time, for his dear queen, Cassandra. In addition, Dythus's shield bore the crest of a Gith band, and there were very few reasons why an elf would stay with a Gith. After moments pause, he added, "No harm shall come to any Githzerai who aid our cause." Looking at Vincent, he said, "This too applies to you. However, I still wish to know why you choose to side against those of your own race."

Asura Hecatoncheires
The golem pondered his thoughts. "What is it that I seek from this venture? Hmm..." Asura tried to remember all those times from the past, where he would be what others would call a "Hero"; he would go deep into demon fortresses and destroy the menace, or climb the highest mountains to combat a mighty dragon, but all of them were just to cover up the past he had and to slate his lust for violence. But the more and more Asura tried to cover his past, the more people seem to realize who he was; He was the monster who committed the Blood River Massacre. After years and years of being imprisoned for such an atrocity, Asura did not seek vengeance; he wanted forgiveness.

"You Majesty, as I stated before, I wish to be freed from my past sins. I was but a lonely Golem Maker when I was once human. People feared me, and fought against me. I fought back, killing many. Even now, I receive scorn for what I have done. I do not deny that what I have done will never change, but I want to show everyone I am not the blood thirsty monster I once was hundreds of years ago. I do not wish to destroy now; I want to protect something. Something important, like your Princess here. I wish to prove that I have changed." Asura said his part, and looked towards Dythus. "A Sympathizer and Lover of a Githzerai. I travel in strange company." Asura noticed that everyone was beginning to leave the room now, and a few who stood near him seemed... Tired.

(( Gimme a minute. ))

Vincent Cryssagrim

The sudden bombardment of questions, and volunteers shocked Vincent. The irony was rather funny in his opinion. He volunteered and scolded everyone within his mind for not volunteering, and suddenly the last three candidates step forward. He should try the tactic more often.

Vincent was amused with ''they boy's'' attempt on his life. If it weren't for the fact that boy was the princesses personal bodyguard and apparently had the favor of the king behind him, he'd have cut him and his pathetic spear to tiny, insignificant pieces. However, this was not necessary, as it seemed everyone else felt that Vincent should be allowed to speak, or that the boy needed to calm down. A delighted smile came across his face from the event. The boy had spirit, he'd give him that, but he needed to learn when to use it.

The other three were an unlikely few. An elf, whom had been raised by Githzerai, and even loved one, interesting. A flirtatious, and seemingly smart alec sprite. And, a massive golem with a rather shady past. The journey just got lovelier by the second. All that was missing now was a talking horse, and a tree that told the future. If it weren't for sarcasm Vincent would have died long ago.

Moriate met up to Vincent's expectations by questioning him. "I decide to help you because I hate my people. More so probably than you ever could. For I was framed for a crime when I lived in Eskrath, one that still haunts me to this day, and one that can never be forgiven. I cannot let those who did this to me continue what they are doing to you, so I shall help your cause in order to avenge the crime done to me, and prove that not all Githzerai are as mysterious as they seem." This came off in a serious tone except for the last bit which was merely him mocking Noctis from before. It was mostly the truth. All he left out was, he was an exiled 'dignitary' of the Gith who had been living for around seven hundred years with an equally dark race as the Githzerai. But, those were unnecessary for him to gain what he desired, a slot on the expedition. Therefor they will be left out, and never brought up.

Upon finishing his statement he bowed once more to the King, waiting to receive a reply. Patience Vincent, everything is going exactly the way you wanted it to. It was going to be a long journey, especially long with this group of people, but he would manage, and he would take the princess to the elves. But, that is where the agreement ends. And ever still his face returned once more to that same sanguine smile.

Noctis Lance Cypher

Noctis still refused to lower his weapon; Vincent's motives were also a rather poor reason to even be accompanying Elle as well. "One person representing an entire species is not going to change anyone's opinions on the Githzerai, especially if he's an outcast and was framed by his own people. If you want to "avenge" yourself, then why chose helping the Princess? Or is there something about this journey you happen to know, something you would like the credit of saving her from? Or maybe help your thirst for vengeance." Noctis made it all apparent that he didn't trust Vincent, and he'd rather not have to deal with the possibility of betrayal. "I can see how you could risk the Princess's well being, as well as the rest of us, for your own ends. You obviously are no simple Githzerai; the way you speak and the intensity of your vengeance means that you where once someone of great importance by the Githzerai. And with the Princess, it wouldn't take a genius to find methods of bring out who ever wronged you using her as bait." Noctis may be stubborn and foolish, but he wasn't going to let the desperation of the King and the kindness of the Princess to allow in someone who would bring the end to them.

"You are going too far, human. Lower your weapon, now." Dythus spoke with that same ice in his tone, he believed that Noctis would be able to see the bigger picture here, but he was failing to understand. "You need to get past your suspicions and focus on your duty to the throne, he was chosen, just as the rest of us were." The snow haired elf didn't reach for his blade, as that'd only throw him in to the conflict too. "Calm yourself, or you'll find that the only one in danger is you, we're in this together now." Even though Dythus did not draw his sword he held his shield in hand, it was just as dangerous as his blade, only not as fatal. "If he were here to cause trouble then he obviously has the ability to have done so, Githzerai are shapeshifters remember, he could have killed and posed as you if he were an assassin, think." Dythus could think of plenty of things Vincent could have done by now if he was here to kill.

"One person can represent an entire species, you naive fool." Dythus continued, he was starting to lose his calm, but he had to remember that this wasn't right, that he couldn't hurt somebody he'd have to work with. "If you can't calm down enough to focus on the larger goal here then go elsewhere and think for a little while until you understand that he is not our enemy!" Dythus stated, anger making itself clear in his voice, as well as frustration and irritation with the man. "Remember the word ally before you make foolish thoughts like that, got it?" Dythus said, his red eyes turning cold like his voice.

Vincent Cryssagrim

Now Vincent was getting rather annoyed. Even after his princess, the golem, and the king tell him that's not necessary, the boy still had his weapon drawn at him. "I've been rather calm, and accepting that I am a stranger in your lands, but the fact that you keep acting so rashly makes me think you'll be more of a liability to the mission than I could ever be! " He said becoming quite heated. "You talk of how one man can't represent an entire race, yet you do it now. All you're telling me is that humanity is nothing more than a short sighted species of racists who won't even allow an honest person to help them, merely because he isn't like them." He said finishing his statement.

The Gith may have been a bunch of war-mongerers, but they didn't discriminate against people who weren't Gith. In this way Gith could be considered better than any of these other races who hated them so.

The support Vincent received from the boy, Dythus, was appreciated. At least, it was until he noticed the symbol on the boy's shield. Pylantuh, one of the seven Gith tribes, it was either the girls tribe, or the Gith whom raised him, who must've been from said tribe. Either way, it angered Vincent. In Gith history, the Pylantuh betrayed the Flakavians, Vincent's tribe, during the civil war of Eskrath. From then on many Flakavians view the Pylantuh with hate, and distrust. But, this was not the time for a historical conflict, no now was the time for the conflict of the foolish boy holding the spear to Vincent's neck despite everyone telling him not to be so headstrong.

This was taking longer than Vincent would've liked. His normal smile a succeeded into a straight face that lacked emotion. His patience was running thin with this kid, and he didn't want to have to make a scene. This was turning out to be a rather eventful morning.

███████████████████████████████████████████████

The yelling and the arguing was beginning to get to Eleanor as she used this oppurtunity to sneak away since everyone else was focused on Noctis, this Vincent fellow and Dythus. Now, out in the halls of the palace she felt much more relieved. Being inside that room was making her anxious and rather irritated by the way everyone was acting. How was she to be on a journey with a group of people that would have trouble getting along? A sigh escaped her lips as she reached the end of the hall where she looked out a big stain glass window. Below, was her garden, a garden she worked hard on and now she was to abandon it. Surely with her gone, it would wither away and die, and this simply thought made her rather sullen. Again she sighed as she calmed herself and waited for the commotion that would come from her father once he saw that she was missing.

Eleanor understood why Noctis was doing what he was doing but it wasn't too necessary. If this Vincent fellow had other motives then so be it, Eleanor didn't really care anymore. If somewhere along the journey he turned on her and t he group, then she would let the events unfold, there was no stopping the fate God had planned for her already. She glanced up, the sun rays hitting her eyes making them look crystal blue. Things would change drastically the moment she set foot on the road with these people. The only thing she feared about this journey was leaving her father behind. This was something she wanted to do, she wanted to go out in the world but what if her father was killed while she was away? What if the Githzerai succeeded in taking this kingdom? It hurt to think of such possibilities but there was no changing her fathers mind. Even now, she could hear the arguing in the room so she continued to wander through the palace.

King Moriate

"ENOUGH!"

The words rang through the hall, those that were in the midst of departing stopping, startled at the commanding roar of the king, who was now standing. His temper was rising, and his temper was rising. If this continued, the calm demeanor he had been trying to maintain would crumble. "Noctis Lance Cypher. You dare to defy your princess's wishes?" He was speaking of Eleanor's order to leave the Gith be, which Noctis had clearly ignored. "You may be her bodyguard, but that does not entitle you to anything more than her protection. Do not think to humiliate or embarrass yourself any further." He paused, looked around for Eleanor, and spotted her slipping away. "The princess has left. Should you not be guarding her?" he asked, his voice dangerous.

Turning to Vincent and Dythus, he said, "I will have no bickering in this hall. Gith called Vincent. You will join the party with my permission, but you are not allayed from suspicion. I myself am suspicious of any of the race of those warring against us, no matter the intention. However, I am willing to give you a chance, similar to the Elf Dythus, there, and the Golem Asura." He sat back in his throne, allowing no argument to be made against his decision.

The fairy woman had not spoken at all through the episode, so Moriate turned to her now. "I've yet to hear from you, Ziza Ricette of the Fairies. What do you hope to gain by escorting the princess to the land of the Elves?" he asked. Any discussion or argument by the other volunteers would be out of place now.

Noctis Lance Cypher

Noctis gave Vincent a hard glare. Noctis left everyone, following Elle. "I'm not racist, just worried." Noctis had no hard feelings against Vincent, but the war with the Githzerai was just making him paranoid. Noctis was too deep into his own thoughts to really see the errors of his action. alone, he stood in a grand hall. He slammed his fist into the wall, heaving a heavy sigh. "Dammit... I'm suppose to protect people, not hate them." Noctis kept silent still, and kept looking for the Princess. He looked though empty rooms, outside the castle. But his actions in the throne room was still lingering in his mind; Never before did he ever act like that. But now he had other things to worry about; the princess ran out on him, and now he had to find her. "Princess! Princess Eleanor! Where are you?"

Asura Hecatoncheires
Asura watched the argument escalate. This distrust... It was reminiscent of the incident that caused him to be what he was now. Senseless distrust against someone. "Your majesty, I must... Temporally leave for the moment. I shall return." Asura bowed, and walked out the same door Noctis did. Asura was wondering why he was looking for Noctis. "Perhaps it is because I do not want them to fight. I have seen too many die out of ignorance. And perhaps it's because he doesn't know how right he could be. Either way, I better make sure he holds no ill will to that Vincent fellow. It would be tedious to man age the two of them if they are going to kill each other." Asura kept walking though the halls, his footsteps echoing all around. Before long, Asura heard Noctis's voice calling out to his princess. Following the noise, Asura found Noctis. "Noctis." Asura stood in the middle of the hall, looking at Noctis.

All Eleanor could do now was wait until someone found her or until she returned to her father to leave this palace. She found herself in her garden, staring at a single rose, it's petals resting in her hand with the stem between her middle finger and ring finger of her left hand. All she could do there was ponder about everything that went on. It all seemed rather useless to her. Eleanor felt that going with one or two would have been fine, but instead she was going with five others, five in which would have to get along with one another. What if it got to the point where they were all focused on arguing and then she winds up kidnapped? This could back fire easily and Eleanor hoped it didn't though she'd rather be kidnapped then be stuck with a group of people who were bickering all the time. Whenever she was around so much arguing, she would slowly let a deep hidden anger within her out and she did not like it. Never had she really done so, but a couple times it got so bad that she could literally feel her inner rage crawling all over her body, trying to escape. Little did she know that it was mana not rage.

As Noctis continued to search for her, she sat herself on a stone bench beside an apple tree. The tree provided her shade from the sun but if she stood under the bright light, she would still feel as if she were trapped in a dark room. Ever since last year, Eleanor has become more distant towards everyone. She slowly became more mysterious and the voices she heard became worse. Eleanor came to a conclusion that she was going mad and that sooner or later she would end up in some room, locked up until she died. The thought made her shiver and she shook her head. Lately, Eleanor could only think of negative things rather then positive like she used to. She was reaching the point where she was becoming a withering flower, past it's beauty and full life. Then she wondered, who would find her first?

Ziza Recette

"Whoa, tough crowd. Quite a rag-tag bunch of misfits, aren't we?" Ziza walked out and looked at all the others, analyzing them. A Githzerai with a vendetta, an elf who sides with the Githzerai, a Golem who may-or-may not be a homicidal maniac, and a human with a one-sided grudge against Githzerai. Once the Princess and the human Noctis left, shortly followed by the golem Asura, Ziza couldn't help to feel a bit nervous. "We're all very tense, aren't we? Each and ever one of us are very much different from each other; that Noctis fellow, he seems like the kind of person who would take his duties over his manners. Heh, duties. Hopefully he opens up though; such prejudice against anyone, no matter how justified, tends to make for bad company. I'm sure he means well, but his choice of words and actions were ill picked. Though some of his words do carry a certain amount of interest, now that it's all said and done. But now I ramble, don't I? To the point then." Ziza pointed her finger to her lips, giving herself some time to think. There where many things she could gain from this venture, many of them that might be better for her to keep to herself, like the possible reward of gold or nobility. Such things would make her seem like a gold-digger, and it may give her the air that she could be manipulated with money, which was somewhat true. But Ziza also did not want to keep secretes from them; they had the right to know her full motives, and unlike everyone else here, she was quite sure she had no skeletons in her closets. Well, figuratively speaking.

Once she had her thoughts in order, Ziza intertwined her fingers and turned back towards the king. "What could I possibly get from doing a good deed for you and all those who would care? Self satisfaction, for one. A large reward is also very nice. Perhaps a title, so my family and future family will have something good to look back on. Also, because I do not hold any particular disdain against any which race, and I would not condemn one to parish. The Githzerai are a very violent race, and they also have a very good chance of taking over this world. While I do support the war, due to it's rise of people in need of weaponry, I will not stand by and let the Githzerai ruin the lives of some of my best customers." Ziza floated into the air, just a few feet off the ground. she did this to get everyone's attention, if they had stopped listening to her during her rambling. "As a merchant, I know that some objects hold close value to people; but you cannot put a price on lives. Swords will break, homes can be tore down, and great cities can turn to dust. But so long as people still stand, all those things can be repaired and rebuilt. But to do that, people need hope." Ziza landed near the king, but faced towards the others volunteers. " I have no delusions that one day, this fair city of yours will be attacked. Many people will die, but many will also survive. But without anyone to lead them, they are as good as dead. That is why I wish to escort the Princess to Elvin lands; she can bring hope to all those who have suffered, lead weak men into strong civilizations. I can buy and sell a crown and city, but I'll never be able to bring to people the same kind of hope the Princess can provided. Such things need to be protected; I cannot allow anyone, Githzerai or other, to ever harm that." Ziza turned around, looking at the king up close. "So to give you the answer to your question, your majesty, I wish to protect and guard your daughter, the Princess, because I cannot allow someone like her fall victim to people like the Githzerai." Ziza turned to Vincent, giving him an apologizing smile. "No offence to you in particular." Ziza turned back towards the king, hoping that her long-winded answer would suffice.

Noctis Lance Cypher

Noctis turned to the voice behind him ,and it was the golem who volunteered. "Asura, right?" Noctis sighed. He had a good idea why Asura would be here, and Noctis wasn't sure if he was ready to talk about it just yet. But instead of ignoring Asura, Noctis turned around and confronted the hulking person. Now that it was just him and Noctis, Notcis did a full evaluation on Asura; He was red, with six golden arms. Asura was much taller then him, and he had white glowing eyes. He also had markings on him, and if Noctis remembered his studies from his time with the mage correctly, it was to channel magic though the Golem. Thinking about Asura, Noctis did hear about the Blood River Massacre in a book he read, but it was passing information; something about a great battle when a mad mage sent his golems to rampage though the country side. It was short. But is Asura really was the cause of that, Noctis was a bit worried; Noctis has never fought a golem before, but if stories from other knights are anything to go by, trying to fight a golem with normal weapons where like breaking a boulder with a carpenter hammer. You can do it, but it'll take a long time and you'll probably be dead before then. Despite all that knowledge though, Noctis tried not to feel any sort of prejudice or fear against the golem. "If this is about what I did in the throne room... Huh, I don't know what got into me. I've fought so many of them, just looking at Vincent made me go into fighting mode. All this war, this hatred against the Githzerai, it's... What I did was stupid, yeah. Maybe he isn't like the others, and I did speak out of line. I was too scared of what he could do to the Princess that I didn't even consider why he was really here for. I mean, he seems so shady. I can get that he wants vengeance and everything, but the way he says it and the way he carries himself, it's like all he wants is vengeance, and that protecting the Princess is just secondary to him. But listen to me; I'm still distrusting of him. And... It's not all out of mistrust either, I guess you can say. I'm a bit envious, for one thing; his attitude and appearance, he's obviously got a lot of experience over me. I mean, if he really is here to protect the princess, I feel like he'd be able to take care of everything. That in the end, all my training and skills would just be, moot, when he's around, you know? I've trained most of my life to be able to protect the Princess and innocent people, but then here he comes, making short work of everything that gave me a hard time. Heh, some hero I turned out to be. I haven't started my adventure and I already painted myself as an idiot." Noctis rubbed his face, feeling like a bigot. An envious, weak bigot, trying to scare someone much, much more powerful then him.

I can fight back monsters and save the day, but I'd rather teach others to fight to save them a lifetime.

Asura Hecatoncheires
Asura listened to Noctis explain himself, and Asura hasn't even explained why he came here. Still though, the information would be useful for future reference. "That you are. But not everything you said were completely foolish. No one person can represent an entire species... But an entire species cannot be condensed into one person either. Vincent may act similar to other Githzerai, but he is not a Githzerai named Vincent, he is Vincent who happens to be a Githzerai. You should do well to remember that." Asura walked past Noctis, formulating his next words. This was a delicate situation; with the wrong words, Asura could easily turn things from bad to worse, or bad to better. Asura tugged on Noctis's shirt; to make him follow Asura. "You still search for the Princess, yes? Come. We shall walk and talk."

Asura began to walk away, speaking to Noctis in a audible but low voice, fitting for someone of his size. "Your mission is not to find out what Vincent's motives are, your mission is to escort the Princess to Elvin Lands. If Vincent does something in the future threatens to harm your mission, only then should you act." Asura eventually found himself overlooking a grand garden. It was quite beautiful; it made Asura want to philosophize, but he had to talk to Noctis about his trust issues. "Fear is sometimes an appropriate responds; it tell you that something is amiss, that something is about to happen that could bring harm to you. But to let that fear control you means you are limiting yourself to those fears, which will cause you to be weak. Instead of fearing what Vincent could do, prepare for them. Make sure that you will be strong enough to save the Princess if he does anything. Make sure that if he ever leaves, you can fill the void." As Asura gazed into the Garden, he spotted the Princess; she was sitting under a apple tree, in the shadows on a stone bench. As Asura looked at her, he still spoke to Noctis. "Do not dwell on the thoughts that he may be stronger then you. That does not matter so long the Princess is safe; if she is, then you are strong enough. You envy understandable though. I can understand that you wish to be able to always protect the princess, and you have recognized that Vincent can do just that. But as I said before; you do not need to be as strong as him, you only need to be strong enough to protect you Princess." Asura then stood in silence for a good new minutes, letting his words sink into Noctis. Once a small amount of time has pasted, Asura pointed towards the tree that the Princess was under. "Your Princess waits for you, Noctis."
