I came out of my house and sighed,onece again i misjudged what time it was when i went to sleep it must of been noon.I guess thats what i get for Skipping school today.My dad must of came home for dinner and left thats how he left bread. Darn it. I thought now thats why the justice lady was angry befor i was a brat."Crap now i will have to stay after tomorrow she will for sure tell the school."I said to my self in a hushed tone.i went inside to grab my skinning /hunting knife. and i grabbed some materials to make some traps.

As i left to go to the meadow to enter the forest i thought to my self my dad may be mad if he have time to figure out i ditched school but he will be happy i spent my time sighning up for terresea and hunting for food instead of spending my time un-useful.I came to the fence to the forest at the meadow and ducked under the fence and entered the forest.Then i grabbed my bow that i dont use often because i am not good with the bow and arrow but its good for defense. Then i headed off.I decided today i will leave a few traps closer to the fence so when i came back i could check them then i made my way into the trees my favorite place to hunt from.

My favorite technique is to hide in the trees and maybe travel a little in them then when i see a animal i jump down and attack them with my favorite skinning knife killing them with the nock in the brain. I waited there in the tree waiting and going threw how to attack.I got bored so i started to climb alittle higher and jumping from tree to tree when the branches were thick enough for me to land and close enough.Then i saw some other older kids from district 12.And I watched for a little bit.Being carful of brakeing a branch or something.I stayed there listening to see if i can learn hunting techniques.well i may not be hunting but learning to hunt may be worth while not to mention my traps might catch something i thought as i watched and listened to the older kids conversation. Then i saw the other teenager hideing a little bit. Then i think introducing herself from what i can tell.I decided to wait a little longer then introduce my self so far they were talking about how they werent good at hunting or the capitol or other useless junk.

Cross nodded. He hated that he was possibly the only one in the forest that had never hunted before. Everyone probably thought he was some kind of no talent wanna be loser. He sighed and kicked a rock that was at his feet at the time. He looked back up again at John and smiled. "Traps and snares. Man this hunting this is complicated. I bet you are pretty good, dude. You should teach me one of these days. I am no big shot but being the Butcher's shop for so long..I guess I can handle a knife pretty well." He smiled at John. He was surprised he didn't know more of these people around 12. Maybe it was because he spent such a long time in the Butcher shop.

He shook his head. "Nah, bro. It was me, it was my fault...If you hadn't warned me I would have put an arrow though you..actually you might live..I am a pretty awful shot." He confessed to the brown haired boy with a very sheepish smile. He turned to Scar and John and asked. "So where did you guys learn to hunt anyways?" He wondered. The thought had been eating him away. he had been wondering that for some time. Where did they learn. Did their parent's teach them? Did they learn on their own or was it just some kind of instinct inside of them that told the to hunt It was weird because he have that instinct.

He heard something a crunch. The sound of breathing. But it wasn't the sound of his breath or Scar's or John's. He believed it was someone else...someone was here in the forest watching them. He could sense it. Cross could sense another person's presence but decided that it might just be his imagination and shook off the thought. But then he heard the rustle of leaves and what not. It came from a different tree...this was....odd. Very odd. Even with all the animals around he knew all this noise was very irregular. "Do you guys here that...I think were being...watched." He replied looking up at the tree. "WHO'S THERE?" He bellowed, he opened up his bag and took out a pocket knife. He sucked with arrows...but with throwing knifes he could do some damage.

"AHH!" Zero screamed, falling back, obviously taken by surprise. "Jeez...calm down..." Zero sighed coming out of her hiding spot. "No need to get your weapons, I'm not a Peacekeeper, obviously." She said as she saw a boy pull out a pocket knife. 'At least things are getting interesting now... She thought now amused with the situation. "Anyways, the name's Zero." She said.

I took a deep brealth as the kid threatned to throw a knife at me.As I did I almost fell but regain my balance luckily the other girl who was watching came out of hideing.I thought to myself I should be a little more careful with the leaves falling.I started to laugh alittle as i thought about how lucky I was that there was someone else watching also.bad luck thoe because onece I start I couldt stop and I lost my balence and fell out of the tree.

"ugh."well there is no sense in hideing now they must of heard me even if I havent fell out of the tree the side they are on.As I got up and brushed off myself and asessed the damage I noticed my scar I got from falling out of the tree was bleeding a little bit not much just a little trickle."why do i always bleed there."I said in a hushed tone to myself also knoticing a bruise elbow and scraped knees.I am gonna be sore tomorrow I thought to myself as i getherd my knife that luckily fell out of my pocket as I fell and my hunting bag filled with the leftover bread bow and arrow and traps and snare.I came out from hideing and introduced my self."Hey I am Elizibeth.....Elizibeth Dream Bloodheart."I said pushing the hair in my eyes and straitining my ponytail and then making a joke about my last name by mointhoning to my scar that was beleeding a bit.Then self conchious of myself I jumped up to the lowest tree and grabbed the branch with my legs hanging upside down now so the older kids new she was serious about how good she is at hunting.

Cross turned at the sound of screams. He saw a girl, come out of her hiding space. She had hair as dark as the coal dust on miner's shoes after a long days work and light eyes that looked genuinely surprised for the the whole thing. He felt really bad for scaring them. He had really sensitive ears and he heard a lot of things most other people didn't hear. He gave the girl a apologetic smile. "Sorry...Miss." He said trying to sound as polite as he could. He was just scared that their were always peacekeepers. This was his first time hunting so he wanted to be sure no one got locked away by Peacekeepers because of something he did. "Uh nice to meet you, Zero. I'm Cross. Sorry I scared you again. I seem to think this place is riddled with peackeepers or something stupid like that. " He replied sticking his hand out.

That's when a second girl appeared out of nowhere. She was significantly younger. She had brown hair and brown eyes to match. She introduced herself as Elizibeth. He held out his free hand in her direction. He noticed something that made him furrow his brow. It was red and thick. He took his hand and put it over the bleeding scar, trying not to put to much pressure on the wound. "You bleeding, hold on." He dropped his hand from just above her temple. He dug through his bag. He held out a small piece of medical tape for her wound and a piece of small gauze. He put the gauze over the wound and laid the medical tape over the gauze to make it stay"Hopefully that should stop the bleeding before anything gets infected." To be honest he would never tell anyone but...he had always wanted to be a doctor.

I saw the older kid come over and i backed away alittle bit when he put his hand to my head.Then i was glad when he put the guaze on my head to stop the bleeding.I touched my head to see if it was bleeding still now it wast.Then I smiled."You know you didt have to do that it could of healed its self."Then i thought a bit about how rude that sounds."I dont usually say this but thanks."I said jumping down from the low branch on the tree.I knealed down to tie my left shoe after it came undown.

I stand up and looked at the group of kids here all of whitch are of course older then i am."Well you guys were lucky enough to dodge the hunger games so far so whats the catch.?"I said trying to make small talk. I twirled my bangs then put it back in my face for a response. Feeling self concious of being younger and smaller i jumped back up on the tree and sat down."So what is the catch?"

"There is no catch. Just luck." John said as he leaned up against a tree. He looked at the group. "You know, I just thought of something. There is a higher chance of us getting caught if we are all together for to long. Oh yeah, Cross I'll teach you a thing or two about shooting. And I'll teach you how to set up snares and traps."

Laughing a little after hearing Cross saying he was paranoid about Peacekeepers roaming around the forest. "It's no surprise that you are paranoid about that." Turning to the direction of the boy leaning on the tree hearing him say there was a higher chance of getting caught, and teaching how to set up snares and traps caught Zero's attention. "All of you hunt?" She curiously asked. Maybe I should stay a little longer and watch, if a Peacekeeper comes, i'm assuming we're all smart enough to run. She thought, crossing her arms and leaning on a tree.

Cross shrugged at Elizibeth's comment about letting it heal it's self. "I suppose it could heal on it's own. But this way it won't get worse before it gets better." He winked at her in a playful manner. He didn't need her thanks. He didn't do anything worth praise. He just helped her patch up her wound...any one could have done that. "It's really no problem." He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. The Hunger Games? Corey had never really thought about that..the games. He had been signing up for the tesserae for some time...but he had never been called. being called up there was like a death sentence. He smirked at the young girl's comment. "No catch. Hell, I guess it's pretty damn lucky we haven't been called yet. But if any of you get called..I promise to volunteer for you...well that is it is legal." He smiled. That was a promise he intended to keep, if possible. He wasn't about to let any of them die, but he remembered that only girls could volunteer for girls and boys for boys.

He gave a nod in the direction of Zero. He was pretty paranoid sometimes. Just about little things that could ultimately result in huge problems. He didn't know why exactly though. "Hah, I tend to be pretty worrisome." He replied scratching the back of his shoulder blade, a small flush on his face. He immediately tried to stop the blush on his face because that was even more embarrassing then telling people about how paranoid he was.

Lessons? He would love some lessons. All of this woods crap was new to him. It was best if he learned how to get his hands on a bow and working on a snare or trap before he got anywhere NEAR the arena. "Thanks John. I would appreciate it if you taught me a thing or two." He sighed as he remembered something. He had to meet his dad in like 5 minutes. CRRRAAAPP. He gave them all a sympathetic smile. "Shoot. I am sorry guys. I promised I would meet my dad in the shop in 5 minutes...Hopefully I will see you all around again sometime." He shuffled around handing Scar back her bow and making his way out of the forest.

I didt like the way John was implieing that there were to many people in here and that perhaps he thought he owned the forest. I fist my hand around my knife again. I looked at cross and nodded thx to him as he left and feeling a little sympithetic to the kid who said if he could he would take all of our places if he could in the reaping if we got called. Then focussing back on the kid named John."Yeah I hunt with snares and traps but mostly with my knife."I said looking at the smugged older kid named John again."So you cant use a knife like i can Right."I said perhaps takeing what he said in a way that wast intended.Chalenging him.

I gripped my Knife and threw it right at him intending for it to miss and get stuck in the tree were a owls burrow is right above the spot were the kid is leaning against the tree."bang."Bullseye it got the burrow that will make him think twice befor implieing that she shoud leave."Well i will be going back to my traps now."I said jumping above john grabbing my knife kicking the tree and landing right in front of John then Jumping up the tree I came from."BYE Zero."I said giveing a sly look at John.Looking one more time to remember theese faces i jumped to the next tree leaving.

When i got back to my traps and snares there was a wild turkey in one and a Rabbit in another.Good catches for a few hours i guess.since i was to tiered to sell them today at the hob i decided that maybe perhaps she could sell them to that kid who she thought said that he was the butchers son then i re thought about it.I decided to get the map out again and see were every one lives so perhaps if i whanted to hunt with someone again i could just go to there home.I left the forest to go walk around and look at the map in my hunting bag. I gathered my kills and traps and left.

John didn't flinch as the knife struck the tree just above his head. When the girl was gone he decided to leave the rest of the group to check his own traps. 'Strange girl that one.' He thought.

The games? Zero thought, ...Right... Higher chance of getting called on this year... great... She grimly thought, as Cross handed his bow to a girl with white hair and left. Watching Elizabeth challenge John, amused Zero. Before the girl had left she threw her knife above John's head, then taking it back.
"Well that was interesting..." Zero mused, stifling a laugh, after John had left. "Oh well, time to go back..."

At the end of the day John got 3 rabbits and a small fox. 'Might as well give the butcher some meat. Maybe I can talk to cross a little longer.' John thought to himself. He walked to the edge of the woods and to the butchers shop.
