"A bout a mile in the direction we are headed in." Asuna nodded. She started to walk and had trouble supporting herself. 'Oh deities.... I'm getting fat...' She shuddered slightly. No, she wasn't fat... just... Pregnant. She couldn't tell which was worse. She kept quiet as she walked toward the lake.

Aleks watched Asuna walk, noting the difference in it, as if she was having trouble, as if her pregnancy was hindering it. Perhaps it would take longer than the predicted time to get to the mountains then. And if it got to be too much....would Aleks even be able to carry her on his back? He'd have to keep an eye on her.
Or..."Oy! If you would like, you could lean on me if you need to. Or..." At this Aleks looked to the side, blushing, "if it can be managed I would carry you on my back if it would be easier on you.

Her blue eyes shot a glance at him. "No... I... You don't have to." She blushed slightly. "I'm a tough girl. I can manage... Thanks though." She nodded once at him and smiled slightly. It wasn't too far. Then she can lay down again, eat, and they'd be on their way again.

Aleksandr simply shrugged. "Alright. You just let me know if you change your mind." Part of him was relieved that she said no. He did not know what had caused him to even suggest they try to get her on his back. Another part of him felt a little sad about it. He couldn't figure out why though. Was it because his first time offering to carry someone around was turned down? No...couldn't be. He never felt that way before when an offer of his was turned down.

"Alright. I might." She glanced at him with a slight smirk. She did appreciate the thought though. Asuna heard a splash, good the lake was closer and the fish were active. She started to run and shortly regretted it. She made it to the water, then plopped down onto her side. She sighed as she caught her breathe. She knew Aleks wanted to catch the fish, but she could catch her own. So she got up and focused on the water.

Realizing what Asuna was planning on doing, Aleksandr let out a growl and stalked to where he was in front of her. "Enough!" He lowered his head to where he was looking Asuna in the eyes. "I put up with you being tough about walking on your own. I put up with you not needing a fire last night. But I'll be damned if I let you try to hunt your own food after you ran over here. Things aren't like they used to missy." He pointed a paw at Asuna's stomach. "You've got two little ones to think about. You catch a cold, they suffer. You hurt yourself or exert yourself, they suffer too."
His paw then pointed to a patch of grass a little ways away from the water. "You go sit over there now, or I might just try to see how well you stay on my back during flight."

Asuna glared at the boy. She still a little heavy of breathe. "Fine. I'll do what you say just this once..." Her tail flicked out of frustration as she went to the patch of grass. She laid down and her eyes never left Aleks. She started to think. He did have a point though... But if he used that tone with her again! She'd... She'd.... Knock him out! Asuna nodded to herself. Mhm... that's what she would do.

Aleksandr watched Asuna for a few minutes to make sure she did do as told and simply didn't say that to get him out of her face. Content that she would actually listen, Aleksandr sat by the edge of the water, staring into it. Occassionally a fish or two would swim close to him. He let them pass, as they were small, which meant they were quick.
He then turned his gaze towards the middle of the water, where he saw a fish jump out of it. His lips curled back on his teeth. Perfect. Instead of wading into the water, which would scare the fish away, Aleksandr spread out his wings and took flight. He circled above where he had seen the fish. Where had it gone?
There! With a swoop, Aleks scooped up the fish. He then flew over the water, looking for more. He managed finally, after many countless failings, to gather five fish. He landed in front of Asuna and blew his hair out of his eyes. The fish plopped to the ground in front of the female. "There."

"Thanks..." Asuna took a fish and used her claws to scrap off the scales. She carefully ate it so the bones didn't get in her way. The one fish was enough for her. Normally she would eat two or three, but she appetite has been off lately. While she waited for Aleks to eat she rested her head on her paws.

Aleksandr made sure that Asuna had her fill before he started eating. He could have started while she was eating, but if due to her pregnancy she wanted all five, he'd have to go hunt more. Of course, if she had eaten them all he would have had to go hunt more as well.
As it was, Aleksandr finished off three of the remaining fish. He would have been able to finish off the other, but if he needed to carry Asuna, he didn't want to do so on a full stomach, especially if he had to fly. So, he tossed the remaining fish into the water, watching it sink into the water. If it had managed to survive being out of the water that long, it would no doubt swim away once it recovered.
Aleksandr turned back to Asuna. "Are you ready?"

With something other than babies in her stomach Asuna was feeling better. "Yes, let's go." She got out and stretched. Before she started to go she took a drink from the lake, not enough to make her full but enough to quench her thirst and the fishy taste from her mouth.

Aleksandr started walking in the direction they were supposed to be heading, slowing his pace so that Asuna would be able to walk without too much labor and wear herself out. As anxious as he was to get to the mountians, he did not want to rush things.
But perhaps if they got there sooner, there would be things for him to do. What was he supposed to do now? Talk to Asuna? About what? By mutual unspoken agreement, talking about their parents was taboo. They already covered what they liked to do...Dieties this socializing thing was hard.

Asuna's tail twitched. "You know... There is a way we could get there faster." She glanced back at Aleks. She really didn't want to do this but it would probably do them both good. And... he did already kind of suggested it... "It's really up to you though...." Her way was to have Aleks carry her, but she would feel bad. She was taught to carry her own weight in situations.

A faster way? She was now telling him this? Well, he supposed it was good that she didn't wait until they were almost there to tell him. But if it meant that they could have reached their desitnation in one day...."And what pray tell, is this faster way?"

Asuna eyed the male. "I figured since your so big... and strong and you had... wings... You could carry us there." She slightly blushed. "Of course it's up to you." If he did do this for her, she would have to make up to him... somehow.
