Ingrid listened to what Mattias had to say. He had took a shot at her ego but Ingrid held her composure. "She is not my secretary, in fact she is a good friend of mine. Reporting to the authorities? Oh Mr. Kaysen, why would you do that? It would be very unfortunate if it was discovered that you were lobbying money to last years mayoral candidate...oh...that wasn't supposed to get out...I'm sory Mr. Kaysen...I tend to get excited and speak a little too much, please forgive me" she told the man.
Turning around in her chair, she outlooked Steel Port as she thought about his question. "I'll get to the point, currently you are investing in the Steel Port Oil Company....as you know so am I...I'm trying to buy the majority of the shares to gain more money....though your money in other endeavors in the city are competing with me. The thing that is keeping me a float in this whole ordeal is the fact I own the irrigation facility here. With the many enterprises I have at my disposal you could greatly benefit the extra income. What I would gain from you is...well...I want to be the face of Steel Port. Not only will I have control of the oil company...but I'll have a partnership with one of the best marketing executives in the city. With your skills and my charm....I see us dominating this city and expanding globally" she said honestly.
Most villians would want domination through destruction, but Ingrid would rather do it slowly, perfecting each part of her plan and doing it the "legal" way. By gaining control...she gained influence...influence would later be turned into policies...policies into laws. But Ingrid was thinking too much and focused back on her conversation.

The girl Remy caught was quick to thank Remy and even left a note with her number in his pocket. Remy rolled his eyes as he pulled the paper out "Like that'll happen" he said with a laugh as he put the paper away. Lisa laughed a little and shook her head. It was then that Rayne walked up to the two of them. They looked at her and then each other and shrugged. "Yeah, sure I guess...I'm Lisa, and this is Remy" Lisa said gesturing to Remy. Remy looked at her "Yeah, I've been told I can be pretty lucky" He said rubbing the back of his neck and avoiding eye contact. Lisa sighed "Don't mind him he's just doesn't like to talk about it...he's rather gifted" She said making a reference to how many times he had made last minute saves like that. He blushed slightly "Because it's not important" He said.

Rayne smiled. "Nice to meet you Lisa and Remy. I'm the worst when it comes to 'luck'" she said laughing a little. She took a sip of her drink and looked at the others. "So are you guys university students?" she asked the both of them. "I'm an art major, finishing up in a couple of months" she said to Remy and Lisa. Of course this was a lie but with a touch of a button she would be enrolled in Steel Port University in no time. "Would ya'll like another round of coffee?" she asked politely.

The two of them smiled enjoying the friendliness of Rayne. Lisa looked at her "Yeah he's a sophomore I'm a junior, I'm an engineering major" she said. Remy looked at her "And I'm a psych major" he added. Lisa smiled at her "Oh cool, my friends an art major, must be hectic for you if you only have a few months left" She said. When she offered coffee Remy frowned "I don't know we should be going" He said. Lisa pouted "Oh Remy don't be such a stick in the mud, we'd love some" She said. Lisa was enjoying a break from studying and any excuse to procrastinate was a good one. Remy sighed and rolled his eyes "Alright, I guess it couldn't hurt" He said. He looked at Rayne for a moment before Lisa spoke up "So tell us about yourself, like where are you from or where you live around here" She smiled and gave her a friendly look.

Rayne looked at Lisa and smiled. She was a nice girl. Rayne got the attention of waiter. "Three lattes please" she said to the waiter. "Well I'm originally from Celadon City, I moved here about two years ago as a transfer and I stay on the upper eastside of town. I'm the youngest of two kids, I have an older brother who works for an electric company as an engineer. I love sushi and fruity flavored alcohol" she said smiling. "I love music though it's one of my passions next to art, and history...I know I'm weird...yea" she said as their lattes arrived. "So tell me some things about yourselves" she said to the company across from her.

Remy listened to Rayne and looked at Lisa, surprised by how much she was willing to share with them. He blinked for a moment before Lisa spoke up. "Well I'm from Bremerton, I have two sisters, and I am on the roller derby team" She said with a smirk. She was really proud that she had gotten to join it was one of her passions. Remy rolled his eyes girls sure seemed to like to share "I'm from a small town, doubt you've herd of it" He said not willing to share too much. "I like to draw, and I enjoy music and history as well" He said. Lisa looked at her "We share a house a short walk from campus, its not great but its affordable" She said.

"Oh that's cool. I'll be sure to come check you out sometimes Lisa" she said smiling. Looking at Remy he seemed kind of short. When he said he loved history she smiled. "It's always nice to meet another history buff. Normally everyone hates history. In fact I'm doing research right now to prove that Hitler was in fact a mutant. It's the research topic I'm going with for grad school, if it goes well then I can get my doctorates degree in mutant research" she said sipping her coffee. "Well you should add me on facebook sometime so we can keep in touch. What are you two getting into from here?" she asked curiously.

Remy looked at Rayne and frowned he didn't like the topic of mutants and tried to avoid it when he could. "I prefer ancient history, like gods and goddesses, you know mythical stuff" He said. He then thought about her topic "Are you sure its research material I mean I'm not sure how the graduate school would feel about it" He said. Lisa sighed "Don't worry about him, he doesn't like anything political" she said as she leaned over to Rayne "I think it's because he secretly loves the stuff" she said. The two of them then smiled and nodded "Sure" They said about adding her on Facebook. Lisa was the first to answer "I want to be a structural engineer I want to build places for people" She said. Remy smiled "I want to be a clinical psychologist, I really want to help people with their problems" He said looking down his voice sounding a bit depressed. He then looked at them and smiled trying to pull from his thoughts.

Rayne smiled at the couple. "Oh that's interesting. I don't know exactly what I want to do in this life, so I use school as an excuse" she said as she finished her drink. "My initial question was though, asking what were you two going to do after the coffee shop, not school, but it's cool because I learned something new from the two of you" she said with a soft laugh. She noticed Remy's disposition and tried to lighten the mood. "What kind of music do you two listen to? Perhaps we can go to my place and hang out, I'm done with classes, we can at least study and jam" she offered. Rayne wasn't going to abduct them or even ambush them. She was just trying to build trust.

Remy and Lisa both began to laugh a bit when she mentioned what she had meant. "Sorry, we haven't decided yet" Lisa said "But I'm sure you'll figure out what you want to do eventually." Remy smiled a bit as she asked about music "I like pop music, I also play a few instruments" He said his eyes brightening. Lisa nodded "Yeah, it'd be awesome to study together" She said. She then got her drink as the waiter came by. "Besides we could use some time away from home, I think our roommates are doing some cleaning" Remy said.

"Then why treat a good friend like a secretary? And lobbying money? That was a donation to the candidate's campaign. A legitimate one, I might add. You really shouldn't pay attention to those ugly rumors, Miss... Excuse me, What was your name again?" Mattias replied, faking shock and hurt feelings, and not really caring that his previous stab at Ingrid's ego had gone unnoticed by the target.
Instead of indulging Ms. Alabri in a game of ping pong with insults, Mattias kept his mind strictly to business matters. While it could end up being amusing with the result of Ingrid losing her temper, Mattias wasn't one to hold petty grudges like Ingrid did a lot of the time.
"What's the harm in a little friendly competition? You seem to have it out for me, Ms. Alabri." he stated casually and yet in an off-handed manner at the same time. He didn't really care that Ingrid thought she was of higher status than himself. Of course, he was slightly offended by it, but didn't give any indication of that to Ingrid over the phone. "You won't be owning the irrigation facility much longer, I'm afraid..." Mattias added plainly. He'd had plans in the works to overtake that facility from Ingrid's control. After all, he had some of the major employees at said facility under his thumb and they were constantly reporting back to him about what was taking place there. That way, Mattias was pretty much one step ahead of Ingrid in that regard. Besides, he had his own irrigation facility in the works already as well.
Mattias Kaysen listened patiently as Ingrid listed off the benefits they would receive if they entered into a partnership now. They were all things that Mattias already knew, but he didn't say anything to interrupt. So far, all Ingrid seemed to think was that he was only interested in making money. Good. That played to his advantage in this case. It would give him all the more secrecy if Ingrid thought she had him pinned down in terms of motive.
When Ingrid had finished speaking, Mattias responded coolly, "I see where your line of thought goes, Ms. Alabri, and I must say that you certainly drive a hard bargain. Of course, I had been considering the same line of thought long before you actually approached me about it. I just want this one factor to be clear: this would be a partnership. You would not be the only face of Steel Port."

Vincent laughed a little shaking his head slightly. "Something like that, I do need to go retrieve something, but my deadline is fairly felxible." He said as he folded his arms gently. He looked down at her, the coffee enticing him, why hadn't he gotten a cup before? Curse the time. He opened his phone again checking the time. "Well it looks like I've got to go, or I'll have to wait until tomorrow to complete the contract. If you want to come your welcome, you seem kind of bored sitting here, unless you're doing some rivoting paperwork." He said with a smile and a small laugh. He turned and started walking away, he had a car parked in the garage placed under the complex. He flashed an id on a scanner to turn the stylus which lead down into the complex. As he neared his car a 2011 Corvette he had recently purchased, the one good thing about working for a secret government agency was that they paid well. As he clicked a button on his keys the car unlocked. He leaned against the car, he was going to wait a few minutes to see if his friend wanted to come along on his litte excersion.

"do we even know what they managed to take? half the expensive stuff in here is simply broken or left behind, what the hell was in this case?" Rissa stared at her co officer who shook his head and gave her a shrug. "apparently we still don't have the clearance for that Rissa, the military men are on their way to take over, reasons are classified, you will just have to step aside i guess" Irritated the brunette simply grumbled and turned away to survey the trashed room before leaving with her companion. she had gotten the call to show up an hour ago, and now the military is telling her to step aside? what the hell were they thinking. Her phone rang finally as she reached the lower levels of the building that had been blasted, looking to her phone she noticed another missed call as she answered, "hello?"

Nora smiled as Rissa picked up the phone, hearing her best friend's voice never failed to brighten her mood. "Hiya Rissa, it's Nora. I know you're probably busy, but I was just wondering if we're still on for dinner tonight. My place, 7 o'clock? Remember? We've had this planned for two weeks?" Nora spun around in her chair, her anger at Mattias Kaysen forgotten for the moment as she spun her hair around her index finger. "If you can't make it, that's fine, I'll just head to the club and drink myself into a stupor the likes of which most bars in the city couldn't handle then make my way home after crashing my autopiloting car into a street lamp and probably get gravely injured trying to make it up my stairs and into bed." Nora was joking of course, she just wanted to tease Rissa, as she knew her cop instinct wouldn't let Nora endanger herself like that. Nora unwrapped her finger from her hair and started the process over again, spinning around in her chair a few more times for good measure as she waited for Rissa's response.

"dinner?" Rissa blinked and hit her head frowning as Nora listed off the events that might happen after a night of rejection and Rissa felt bad despite the idea that a self operated vehicle would crash. "yeah Nora, i didn't forget, ill be there, 6 o'clock right? do you want to meet earlier, i just got cut loose early today" she replied stepping down the last few steps from the building just as the military crossed the police line, "give me a few minutes Nora, i have to speak to a few people real quick, see ya tonight" she said and hung up when she was given the chance, waiting for the men to come to her to address the situation. she was the one ordered to hand the case over to these investigators, so she waited for them to come for any of her details she noted. "we are here to take over the case, just hang out here with the rest of the officers and we will be taking over the investigation" the man said without bating an eye as they showed her their military class identification and merely pushed her to the side. Rissa was shocked by the treatment and fumed as they walked by, gripping her fist in rage. "looks like ill be needing that drink with Nora" she mumbled as her co officers shook their heads, higher ups usually treated the underdogs like dirt anyway.
