Doyle stared fiercely at the Rattata after Genesis got her off. "That one needs a leash or something." He muttered. He missed the movement of something passing them but caught on to the after effects. Erebos went running off, Archie was squawking about it, and he got hit with a gust of wind. He turned around and looked but didn't see anything. "Let's go. It must be what we're after." He said before running after Erebos and the mysterious pokemon.
Ark could not be quelled about Leto's attempt to climb Doyle. The paw waving didn't help either. She stalked up to the smaller pokemon and soon her jaws were clamped tight around Leto's tail. She growled darkly before letting go. She soon was chasing Doyle, feeling a little better after punishing the Rattata.
Not one to be left behind Archie quickly ran after Doyle. It would be so much better if he could fly and not awkwardly run.
Erebos wasn't quiet enough as the giant pokemon heard the Lucario racing after him. A few teeth gleamed as a grin broke out of the maw. When Erebos got close a back paw shot out striking the Lucario. Stopping and turning the Arcanine crouched down in what could only be seen as a playful pose. "Aaaaarrrrrrrcaaaaaniiineeee!!!" He howled.

"Sadly, I doubt it'd work," Genesis muttered back. Once this whole ordeal was over, she'd have to take some time to train the little sucker if it really did intend to stay with her this time.
Leto chittered angrily when her tail was bitten and, for a moment, she believed it to be the enemy they were supposedly looking for. She turned, intending to lash out, but saw it was only Ark.
"<<I'll be okay,>>" she told the other reassuringly. It was just so cute how Ark was trying to prevent her from endangering herself in the field of battle, and Ark was even going ahead to try and stop the monstrosity before it reached her. Still, she could fight, and she could do it well, and it simply would not do for her steed to get harmed in the process.
Without further delay, she ran across the field to join the fight.
Erebos was struck before he could land a blow, and he was sent sailing across the ground, landing with a cloud of dust a few feet away. The action would have no doubt been a gentle, teasing push had the culprit done so to another of its own size, but to Erebos, who was nearly half the height of the Arcanine, it was a formidable blow.
Now recognizing the Pokémon for what it was, and finding it ironic that the Zorua had illusioned herself into the form just earlier that night, he lunged towards Vincent again. He wondered why the Arcanine was away from his trainer and what had happened between the two, but he was not the type to ask questions first, especially after he had already been attacked once.

Doyle glanced over at Genesis and raised a brow. "Then you've got your work cut out for you. Could always hand her over to an operative in the main branch. They'll take the disobedience out of her." He said. He skidded to a stop when Erebos landed not too far in front of him. He then heard the howl and nearly face palmed. "What is he doing here?! What is Alexa thinking?!"
Archie caught up and catching sight of the Arcanine brought instant hate and terror to the small bird. He let out a strangled 'Chen' and quickly climbed Doyle. It put him about eye level with Vincent, not that he was going over there.
Ark nearly froze hearing what the rat had to say and if she had known what Leto was thinking she would have mauled the poor thing. She was really starting to dislike the Rattata and began thinking that all of her species were a plague on the world. She soon caught up to the battle and paused seeing the huge Arcanine. <> She called out. It was then that she noticed the play stance and how Erebos was taking this as a battle. <> She never finished as Erebos did the exact thing Ark was trying to warn him about: lunge which Vincent would take as a sign to play.
Vincent was so happy to see so many pokemon appearing that wanted to play with him. And then the two humans showed up, both of whom he had met before. He barked happily and wagged his tail. When Erebos lunged at him, he took the hit as if it was nothing. He then played growled and backed away. Soon he was springing towards the Lucario and when he landed was covering his face with 'kisses'. He then darted off, heading straight towards the humans. They must want to play too!

Genesis shook her head in disagreement. The idea had occurred to her before, but the reason she would rather not was the same reason she kept Leto in the first place. She considered the Rattata her responsibility, and thus, she would look after the Pokémon. Regardless, she had her own specific way of training, and she wouldn't trust another with the job.
Before she could make vocal her reason, however, her attention was immediately claimed by the ongoing battle, and she looked just in time to see Erebos flung onto the air. Admittedly, a lot of attacks were capable of causing such an action, but, as she had seen or heard no telltale sign of it being a move, it could only mean whatever had done it had done so through sheer physical strength. It confirmed that a large Pokémon was indeed nearby, but was it the same one that had harassed their comrades?
Suddenly -- a howl. It was earnest, playful, and completely out of place. It was also familiar, but Genesis couldn't believe her suspicions were true until Doyle (who certainly knew his sister and her Pokémon much better than Genesis did) confirmed it with his own words. Unlike her partner, however, she actually did face-palm.
Leto, upon seeing the playful posture, returned one of her own and joyously ran towards the Arcanine, all thoughts of a battle gone.
Erebos protested to the kisses with a growl of his own, although it was far from playful. Thankfully, Vincent detached himself soon after and Erebos shook the dripping saliva from his face.
By then, it was obvious to him that physical attacks would not do. He braced his paws against the loosened earth, maw glowing with a preparatory Aura Sphere. It would have to be quick if he didn't want the light to attract anyone else, and he was just about to release it, too, when a subdued but still sharp "Stop!" rang against his ears.
Immediately the attack faded from his lips, for he recognized the voice to be his owner's. When he looked up, he noticed that the command had not been directed to only him, but to those in the vicinity.

Doyle could only stare as Vincent pounded on Erebos by complete accident. The giant dog didn't know his own strength. He was finally snapped to his senses when Genesis call out 'Stop'. He wobbled for a moment as Archie shifted. The Archen was not happy to see the giant Arcanine running towards them. "Vincent! Down!" He shouted as the Arcanine came closer ignoring Genesis' command.
Archie was not pleased at all to see Vincent running at him. He shifted on Doyle and soon was jumping to the ground. He raced towards a tall tree and began scaling it. He squawked when he reached a very high branch and stayed there.
Ark ignored Leto. The little rodent could get squashed for all she cared. But when Erebos went to attack Vincent she began to move. She went to ram into him to make sure his attack wouldn't hit the Arcanine. There was no sense it starting an actual battle. Hearing Genesis' command to stop and seeing it work on Erebos she too stopped. <> She warned walking close to the Lucario.
Vincent was unaware of the attack Erebos was preparing. He was too focused on the humans, both that he knew. He completely ignored Genesis' command to stop but hearing Doyle follow up brought him up short before the two humans. He sat down and wagged his tail wit his tongue hanging out.

Genesis wasn't surprised to see her command go ignored -- it was rare that a tamed Pokémon would follow the orders of a trainer that was not its own, or at least familiar -- but she was startled to see the Arcanine immediately change track and rush straight towards them.
She clenched her fist and took a step back, if only to distance herself from the large Arcanine, and was just about to call Erebos to their aid when Doyle yelled and the dog-like Pokémon sat just short of them, acting for all the world as if he wasn't about to add two people to his list of murders, intentional or no.
"That was close." Way to state the obvious.
With a soft sigh, she eyed the new damage that had been wreaked around them. Knowing who their culprit was now, they couldn't possibly bring the Arcanine to their comrades, but they couldn't simply let it go, either. Something had to be done.
Leto leaped happily towards the orange furball, ready to feel the warm fur against her paws and play with the huge lug. But then he moved and she faceplanted in the dirt.
Erebos glanced at the Zorua as she approached, an ear tilting towards her. Despite the battle and the dark, her earlier dash towards him had not gone unnoticed. Still, she didn't seem like the type to purposely hinder him when he was going against an enemy he believed was a threat to them both, and he was curious as to what she had to say.
'Play?' he thought, inclining his head towards the side. His ears flattened with disbelief but he had no reason to doubt the Zorua, especially since her earliest illusion was proof that she had met the Arcanine before, and most likely knew more of the Pokémon's thoughts than he would.
In the end, he accepted the logic and gave the Zorua and appreciative dip of his head for giving him the warning before padding up beside his trainer. Even if the Arcanine had just been playing, there was no guarantee he wouldn't accidentally hurt someone on accident.

Doyle sighed in relief as Vincent stopped before them. He reached out and patted the dog on his neck. He knew if he didn't do that then Vincent would likely tackle him and begin licking him. "What are you doing here? Where is Alexa?" He asked out loud. Too bad the dog pokemon couldn't answer.
Looking at Genesis he frowned. "Now what do we do? We can't turn him over to...... the group." He didn't dare say Team Rocket. Vincent may seem stupid but he wasn't. If Vincent knew that they were with Team Rocket then Alexa would surely find out soon.
Ark nodded back and walked over to Doyle. She avoided Vincent and when he moved towards her with a whine she hissed at him. She did not want a repeat of their first meeting.
Vincent looked at Doyle and Genesis and tilted his head. His tail thumped against the ground happily when Doyle petted him. He soon caught sight of Ark and Erebos and whined scooting a little closer to Ark. His ears went down when she hissed at him and he wondered why she was being so mean. She was so nice when they first met. ((OOC: No she wasn't. Vincent is just too big and dumb to tell)) He then heard a squawk coming from a tree and looked up. He spotted the flightless bird pokemon and his eyes got big. His tail really began to wag and soon he was making his way to the tree. He began to bark getting really high pitched. He wanted to play with the bird! He loves birds!

Doyle's pause did not go unnoticed, and Genesis, glancing between him and the fire Pokémon, realized he had purposely refrained from naming their affiliation. Yes, it wouldn't do for his sister to find out, and she kept that note in mind.
"We can't risk our status and say we didn't find anything," Genesis replied, her words still low but not as cautious as before. Still, there was some hesitation in her statement -- she didn't know how close Doyle and his sister was, and she didn't want to start any arguments on what they should and should not do. They had just met only today, and although she admitted he had been a valuable partner to have for the mission (she certainly wouldn't have been able to neutralize the Arcanine as quickly or efficiently), she wouldn't risk what position she had made for herself for an Arcanine's sake. At the same time, however, she wouldn't be so quick to hand over the Arcanine for her own skin.
"I suppose we could always try to be vague about it," she suggested with a shrug.
Leto, completely unhindered by her fall, picked herself up and scampered over to the group, dirt falling off her face in chunks. When she had gotten reasonably close enough to be a part of the rough circle they had made, she began to groom herself immediately, small particles of dirt flying every which way.

Doyle was silent for a while and nodded. "Yeah can't risk our status... not that I really have any status. Odd job guy here." He muttered before speaking up, "Yeah we can. You'll probably want to do the talking then. I'm not very good with being vague on the spot. I plan my vague reasons/excuses out."
Seeing Vincent trying to climb the tree made him shake his head and rubbed his hand across his forehead. "I don't know how we're going to be able to go back and report. He's just going to follow us. I can't get him to stay.... and it'll look odd if only one of us go to report it."
Archie was freaking out in the tree. He was huddled up against the trunk and there was no way he could climb higher: the branches were too thin and small. Once Vincent stood on his hind legs and began trying to 'climb' it he really freaked out. He began squawking his head off and began pelting anything he could grab at the dog.
Vincent was so excited to see the Archen that he stood on his hind legs to get up higher. When that didn't work to get him high enough he began trying to 'climb' aka claw/jump up the tree.

"Right, then," Genesis replied, glad for Doyle's understanding. "And hey, that's better than the-dude-who-couldn't-complete-his-first-mission-here," she said, although whether that was actually encouraging was questionable.
"I'll think of somethi--"
A soft rap on her leg made her look down. Such a small motion usually wasn't warrant for so much attention one would even stop mid-sentence for it, but Genesis recognized it as a warning touch from Erebos and looked down to see him watching the shadows intently, ears pointed sharply forward.
She put a finger to her lips, but before she could do much else, an inquiring "Hello?" could be heard close by. Evidently, they hadn't been as... stealthy... as they could have been.

"Ah that is so true. I am glad to be odd job guy th...." Doyle said trailing off. He also caught the signal that Erebos gave and looked down at Ark and then up to Archie. He had to quickly step in front of Vincent to keep him running towards the new voice. "Crap..." He whispered. It could be anyone out there and but more likely was someone from the base that was nearby. He frown growing serious.
Looking at Vincent and then to Ark he got an idea. He pointed at Ark and then to Vincent. He didn't wait to see if she understood but instead grabbed Vincent by the side of his face and began trying to turn him around. The dog pokemon easily obeyed and soon was facing Archie again. "Go get the bird Vincent. Go get him." He whispered. He then looked up at Archie and pointed away (from the person and the base).
Ark also was looking into the shadows. She didn't need to be told to be quiet for she already knew there was someone out there. But when Doyle pointed at her it got her attention. Seeing him then point to Vincent made her think. After a short moment it clicked. When the big dog was turned her form shimmered and soon she looked just like him. She then laid down on the ground near them and played dead.
Archie had to quiet down when Doyle looked at him but was still very aware of the Arcanine. When he heard what Doyle told Vincent then saw Doyle pointing away while looking at him, he got a bad feeling. So he was to be the bait to drive the huge beast away?! He quietly squawked and jumped from one branch to another. He then turned to look at Vincent and stuck out his tongue. Doyle so owed him one for this! Archie then dropped down to the ground, landing a little hard, and was off running away.
Vincent's ears perked when another human called out. He turned from the tree and took a step towards the voice. However he was stopped by Doyle. He looked down at his trainer's brother and cocked his head. Soon he was being turned around and he allowed it. He wondered what was going on. He then heard the magic words of go get the bird and his tail began to wag. As soon as Archie was on the ground and running away, he was off. Soon neither of the two pokemon could be seen.

Genesis clenched her fist, wondering what to do. The voice most likely belonged to a fellow Grunt -- most civilians and travelers had left when the strange sounds and flames caused by the now-revealed Vincent destroyed parts of the forest, and she doubted those that were left would come so close to the center as they had done (or if they even could without Rocket access, as the risk brought on by the Arcanine would heighten their chances of being discovered if too much interest was brought to the case). In the end, she decided they would simply have to knock the patroller out quickly, then claim they were simply being cautious. Sadly, as the Rocket approached, she noticed he carried a lantern and that a few of his Pokémon surrounded him, as well, which would make her plan impossible to accomplish unless she wanted to account for any mental instabilities on her part, as well.
Thankfully, she was not alone in this case. Doyle had begun to set something up in the midst of her thinking, but she had assumed he merely meant to get Vincent away. That assumption was cut off when she saw Ark once more take Vincent's form.
Erebos, who had understood what was happening, quickly and quietly approached the fake fallen Arcanine, playing the role of the killer. It was a good thing he had been struck before, as that only worked in their favor now.
He had not done that a moment too soon, either. It all clicked for Genesis with his help, and by then the Rocket had reached the two of them. Genesis cleared her throat and the both began to speak, trading meaningless words they would have passed had they both been normal travelers. Within, both slipped in coded messages to assure the other they were on the same side, and it was then that Genesis began to explain clearly.
She told their side of the story, falsifying it to say they had killed the one responsible. The other Rocket expressed some doubts, but they were quickly calmed. One in particular had been by luck: the Rocket seemed somewhat suspicious that they had even managed to find the Arcanine, and in response, Genesis had simply pointed to the still mud-caked Rattata and made note of the Mouse Pokémon's superior sense of smell and, embarrassed that they had been bested by such a thing, the Rocket immediately let it go. After a few more exchanges and a wry comment from Genesis' end stating the body might begin to smell soon, the pair had been paid, told to dispose of the body, and were free to go.
When she was certain the Rocket had left, she turned to Doyle and gave him a thrilled thumbs up. Despite his being new to the area, he hadn't been too bad of a partner at all.

It was a good thing that Genesis did all of the talking. Doyle wasn't a bad liar or anything it was just that this had happened too soon for him to be able to lie well. It was also a good thing he could keep his cool and not show when he was nervous for if he wasn't then he would have blown the whole thing. He did have to fight not to smile at Erebos playing the killer or laugh at Leto being the one to find the Arcanine. Instead he became very interested in a damaged tree and then in his bag.
Finally when the patrolling Rocket left he sighed and gave Genesis a thumbs up. "So glad this is over... now let's dispose of the body and I gotta go find Archie and Vincent. Need to take the dog home too." He said walking over to Ark. He had taken his pay and shoved it in his bag. He wasn't really interested in how much he made after all he already had quite a lot of money saved up. "So do you want to join me in taking Vincent home or would you rather we go our separate ways?
Ark played dead very well. She breathed as little as possible and was able to hold completely still. Finally when Doyle walked over to her and began speaking she stood up and changed her form back. She shook herself and then sat down.

"The mission's over -- I'll be taking my leave here," Genesis replied, pocketing the bills. She had warmed up to him during their brief time together, but they were still near strangers and she offered no help in regards to finding his Pokémon. She was sure he could take care of it himself, if this mission had taught her anything. "Good luck."
With a wave (and a sharp "Tatatatatatatata!" from Leto when the Rattata discovered she was bring forced into her ball), Genesis made her leave.

Doyle nodded and waved his hand in good bye. He then turned to Ark. "Come on. Let's go find them." He soon disappeared following after Ark. It took them a little while to find Archie and Vincent. When he did he recalled Archie. Finally he led Vincent back to Motterossa or rather followed Vincent back home. Alexa was quite surprised to see that Vincent was with Doyle and that Vincent had disappeared in the first place.
