Clover tilted his head to one side, looking more then a little confused. Stuck... in a machine? Again? The man seemed to be unphased by what he'd just said so the blond decided that maybe it wasn't so bad? Surely it couldn't be a dangerous machine or else the man would have run off already to save his son, right? Surely...
As the paper was handed to him he gave a little nod, wilting a little. Oh, right... the diet thing. He was going to have a hard time with this one he was sure, not to mention he felt quite terrible that he let his son get to the stage where he needed such a book, "I... I would like to borrow yours if I could I... I don't want to take that book out and have people look at me like I am a horrible parent." He whispered, clutching the piece of paper tightly and starred down at his feet. Oh no, what would the twins think when he told them? Or when they saw the book? They were already surprised that someone as ditzy as Clover was given a child would this prove them right that it might have been a mistake on the part of the Zetetic people?
Shifting in place he tucked the paper quickly into his pocket, not wanting to think about it for now. He'd worry later... or he'd hide the book, one or the other, "Alright! So, let's get this blood taken." He said, trying his best to change the subject off his mediocre parenting skills.

If he could have facepalmed without looking silly, he would have. Instead, he sighed, and shook his head at Clover. "The book is ideal for new parents and old parents alike. It doesn't mean you are any less of one. As a matter of fact, I give you extreme kudos for not letting him get heavier! Bears, I have heard, are hard to care for, and sometimes people need a little extra help, that's all. Don't be embarrassed! But yes, you can borrow my book." he said, giving a gentle smile.
"And let's. I'll have one of the nurses draw for both of you - I trust her, and she's got a good touch with a needle. Do check out that book, and be sure to give me a ring if you need anything at all." he said, exiting the room, but then darting back after a moment.
"Oh, and be sure to register your name and address with the front desk. It will make contacting you easier."

Clover looked as though he wanted to believe him, wanting to have someone believe that he could in fact do this. He wanted for Snowe to grow up happy, not heavy, but it was all so complicated. Maybe the book would help? It was going to be a touch difficult as he rarely read anything longer then a magazine article but for Snowe he would do his best! He gave a bit of a smile, the best one he could muster up, and nodded, "I will read it over and bring it back as soon as I can so that you can have it back." He said in a reassuring manner. The last thing he wanted was to steal the man's book after all. Though it would be a good way to lure him over to his apartment he thought to himself. He'd refrain from such tricks though since Doctor Shawn was so nice.
"Alright, I will trust her too since you do." He said, giving a smile as the Doctor headed out of the room only to return a moment later to tell him to register his name and address with the front desk, "I will be sure to do just that, thank you." He said, giving the man a smile before he set to pulling up his sleeve. Best that he were ready for the woman when she arrived, that way they could get this over with as quickly as possible. Nothing against her, since he'd never met her, but he just wanted to get done with the blood letting as fast as he could, finding it a touch scary though not nearly enough that he worried he might faint. Once he was done he'd help with Snowe getting his blood taken then they could head for home to read that book.
