Upon Jordan's prodding, instead of smashing neatly in half, the semi-circular object in question simply made a strange clicking noise, and sank an inch deeper into the ground.

A door next to the Hunter opened up, a set of stairways folding downwards. It was infinitely dark inside, and the corridor was only large enough to fit one person.

THE LABYRINTH ROUND 1

YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE LABYRINTH. The second your character enters it, they will feel strange... as if they can't hear anyone else, in fact - where is everyone? (Your character is now alone).
- Roll a 100-sided dice as your character navigates the labyrinth and match it to the events below. Please only roll once per round!
1-20: Your character is simply lost entirely in the dark. In fact, it feels like they've been walking in the same spot for a long time, no matter what direction they take...
21- 50: You can hear voices, someone telling you to turn left, no turn right, no the wrong way - wait where are the voices coming from?
51 - 80: You see someone ahead of you - a flicker of white - it looks humanoid in appearance, but can you be sure. However, before you can inspect it further, it disappears.
81 - 100: As you walk further, you realise that you are actually entering a semi-submerged area. You put one foot into the water - it is really warm actually, surprisingly so. In fact, it is also more vicious than usual, there is a strange sort of smell to it that you just cannot place.

((Really, Robert? THAT'S YOUR ROLL?))

Robert saw the staircase opening, and put his hand on Petra's shoulder, signalling her to stand back. If there was one thing he was good at, it was being the meat shield.

"Here, let me try this s**t out." He mumbled, heading down the stairs. The sound of his heavy, loud footsteps faded away.. until only he could hear them anymore.

Then they splashed down in a warm pool, and immediately pulled back up.

"Ew, what the.." He called up to the others, without realizing they couldn't hear him anymore. "Careful, it's wet down here!" His nose pinched in annoyance. "AND STINKY!"

Madison stepped back - nearly tripping again - when the doorway appeared. She wasn't sure about this, not at all, but after Robert boldly strode through... well, there wasn't an option after that, was there? They were going in, because they were Phoenix, and they didn't leave their own behind. Or, uh, ahead. Or whatever.

"Here goes nothing," she said, giving the other Phoenixes still in the room a shaky grin before squaring her shoulders, putting one hand on one of Kouki's hilts, and striding through the doorway. Instantly darkness fell, and when she turned back the torches were nowhere to be seen. "Uh. G-guys?"

Only silence responded to her words, but Kouki's comforting presence was still in her mind. It is well to be bold. Let us continue onward. The weapon sounded confident, so Madison swallowed and kept going...

... until the voices started up. Go left! Go right! Go upside-down! Do a barrel roll! Madison stared into the darkness, one hand reached out to trail along the walls she could feel. The voices didn't sound like her team, though Ennea probably would tell her to go upside-down or roll a barrel or whatever. Where were the voices coming from, anyway?

She just had to keep on going...

I'm glad you're here, she thought, fiercely.

We... thank you, Kouki replied, after a moment. The weapon sounded surprised but gratified.

Jordan followed Madison down the stairs. If Robert was breaking a path for them, the big man might need to be reined in to make sure they could regroup before moving on -

- but when he reached the bottom, he couldn't hear or see anything. Or anyone. He turned to peer back up the stairs, and found them gone. "Damn," he muttered, irritated and worried. Perhaps the house had perceived how well they worked together and decided to separate them. It certainly seemed to be being controlled by something. However, standing alone in the dark would get him nowhere. He moved forward cautiously, left hand trailing along the wall.

His food landed in some kind of liquid. Warm liquid. Slightly viscous. It smelled strange. He grimaced. Ferros, do you know this smell?

I feel like I should, the weapon replied, sounding frustrated.

That makes two of us, then. Anyway, it's not water. ... Ugh. Jordan advanced very slowly, sliding his feet along the ground under the unknown liquid, feeling out his footing with each cautious step and hoping that the liquid wouldn't deepen.

Ennéa griped her axe tightly before her and hurried through the door after her squad mates. She cringed a little and tread lightly as she stepped through; bracing herself for any sneaky trap tiles or monstrous stangers.

But there was nothing but pitch black darkness.

In fact, it was so dark that she couldn't even see Jordan in front of her. Ennéa reached out to grab his coat for reassurance and her hand pawed through nothing but empty air. She bit her lip and jogged forward to try and catch up, blindly reaching out before her. "Jordan?" She called.

The cold knot of dread was back, twisting and making her feel slightly light-headed and jittery. "Maddie?" Ennéa turned, trying her hardest to find her friends in the darkness but there was nothing to see. The dark was like a solid wall before her eyes. "Robert?! Petra!!"

"JORDAN!!" She yelled again. Ennéa started blindly running, fear taking over as she raced down the corridor. "ANYBODY?!?!!"

Finally, Ennéa ran out of breath and leaned against the wall, panting heavily.

-- calm down!! Ennéa, are you even listening to me??! Baraz sounded equal parts annoyed and concerned. Hey!! Listen! He probably had been yelling at her for some time.

"B-Baraz!" Ennéa wheezed, her voice unnaturally high and panicky. She clutched her axe close and leaned her cheek against the wooden shaft. "I-I think I'm... I'm lost!"

Yeah, probably. Baraz agreed. But don't start panicking again, geez! He quickly added. That won't get us anywhere and you need to calm down and focus.

Ennéa took a shaky breath and nodded. She straightened up from the wall.

I'm here, Ennéa. It'll be okay. He reassured her.

"O-okay." Ennéa's voice was quavery. She cleared her throat. "Okay." She said more firmly.

Good. Baraz said. He then paused as he thought. I'm pretty sure you just ran straight, so let's turn around and keep that wall to your left. With any luck, we can get back to where we were and find everyone again. They're probably waiting for you.

Ennéa nodded. "Let's try that." She said with more calm than she actually felt. She clamped down on her fears though and began walking, lightly trailing her left hand along the wall to ensure she went the right way.

(ENTERING! )

Petra had made a conscious effort not to sway under the surprising sag of the organic ground beneath her feet as Robert had set her down, bracing herself with slightly spread feet. Her eyes had done a radar-like motion, swiveling a few times back and forth to take inventory, up to the ceiling then down to the disgustingly mush-like platform they stood on, but beyond that she hadn't offered much to the conversation, merely looking towards the other as they spoke. In fact, she didn't even move to test what it was they were standing on, her feet staying firmly where they were, and the only motion she made at all was to reach up to her neck where the silver pentagram hung, summoning Cain to her shoulder. He too, however, was silent, as if they were both taking it in, not needing to share words at that point.

She hadn't been looking when Jordan had tapped the spherical object, although as the door appeared her attention immediately snapped to it, clearly startled. And just as she hadn't tested the ground, she was the last to move towards it, watching the others go before finally taking those first few steps, quickening to catch up. Except as soon as she passed through the door, everything was gone. Everything. Light. Sound. Phoenix. At first it was jarring, her head snapping from left to right as she reached out with her free hand to try to grab for Ennea, who had been in front of her. It was, however, in vain -- there was nothing.

She took a few more steps, conscious only of her own breathing...

and then there was a flicker of something up ahead.

She took off as if she had seen the Phoenixes themselves calling to her, kicking off the ground with a wet squelch, balance remarkable despite the heavy mace still resting against her shoulder. Every few feet, she'd stop to look around, searching in the dark for that same indication that she was getting close, taking off again each time it flickered again.

All the likely getting more and more lost in the dark.

((Entering from Horseman Room, invited by Zoo!))

Cymbeline stepped through the portal doorway into complete darkness. She couldn't remember the last time she felt completely alone, but the heir found this darkness suited her. She wrapped herself in it like a cloak, a blanket, a giant dark cloud of silence~ Except... It wasn't entirely silent.

Frigoris

The heir of Famine stifled a giggle. Footfalls. She could hear them ahead of her, the softness of one treading carefully, and the even softer slide of a hand against a wall. If she imagined hard enough, it would be the sound of fear echoing through the deep darkness, the scent... of those humans she loathed.

With a malicious teasing grin in the impenetrable dark, Cymbeline stalked after the footsteps. Her heels clicked against the floor, mimicking the rhythm of whomever lead the way. If she stepped just right it was like she was walking with her own shadow, or maybe she was simply swallowed alive and lived in the heart of her dark companion. She giggled again, her ribs clattering in the darkness.

Ennéa felt like she had been walking forever and still there was nothing but pitch-black darkness. She probably would have gotten bored by now, if she wasn't so scared. Her throat was starting to get sore from calling for her squad mates, and it was a struggle to keep herself at a walking pace and not run full-tilt again.

The dark was starting to play tricks on her. Ennéa was sure she had been walking for at least ten minutes by now -- if not more -- or at least, it felt like it had been that long. She wasn't sure. But surely shouldn't she have gotten back to everyone by now? She couldn't have run *that* far.

Her footsteps seemed to echo oddly in the darkness too, making her feel even more on edge. The last thing she needed to be doing was imagining monsters in the dark though.

"I'm glad you're here, Baraz." She said quietly. Holding her axe before her in a ready stance as she walked.

Yeah. The ahriman replied, though he seemed distracted, like his attention was focused elsewhere. Ennéa, He said carefully, as if trying not to alarm her, maybe we should pick up the pace some.

"W-what?" Ennéa's eyes darted around in the darkness but she couldn't see anything. She started jogging at a brisk pace. "Is something wrong?"

I don't know. Maybe I'm just hearing things, but let's try to find everyone soon.

Ennéa ran faster.
