Chandra frowned as she turned her attention Kiran on the other side of her mom. "I do not!" She exclaimed as she lowered her head closer to her mom's side thinking over how she treated Odi. She quickly came up with the excuse that he wouldn't do it if she didn't want too.
"Maybe if you asked nicely he'd bring you treats too. Instead of acting like some knight." She said smuggly to him as she stood up and walked over to his of Avarte before puffing herself up to continue bothering her brother. "Besides, you can barely catch a mouse unless mom or mother helps you."
Odi watched the children for a few moments a amused smile on his face. He really couldn't wait till Kiran was older then he could teach him how to hunt and train. Ofcourse he asked Avarte for permission, he was willing to respect her mother rights. Speaking of her...why was she smiling in his direction like that. "Is something funny?"

Avatre shook her head. "It wouldn't be as amusing if I just told you. You'll have to figure it out on your own," she said. She just hoped she was there when the epiphany struck, since it would be a complicated one to work through and would leave the most hilarious expression on Odi's face.
"I'm one day old," Kiran shot back at Chandra. "I need time to practice my skills before I get really good." He smirked. "I can still outhunt you right now anyway, so who's the little prissy princess now?" He stuck out his tongue, then danced around to the other side of no-wings mom and peered owlishly at his sister from behind a mound of tail fluff.

Odi lifted a curious brow at Avarte at her statement that made him feel uneasy. "If its amusing to you..." he mumble his words as he looked himself over for anything out of place. No, his fur was clean expect for around the pads where he happened to find the only puddle in the forest. "So..mom, anything I can do to make you more comfortable?" He clearly directed it toward Avarte with a mischevious smile on his face. She wanted to play mind games he could play them back.
"Well mom, I was thinking about teaching Kiran how to fight. Start off small with some stalking, then move on to teaching him how to take on bigger animals. Probably start with an adder." Odi joked half heartedly as he steped closer to Avarte. Ofcourse he wouldn't make Kiran fight a adder, a weasel would be better.
"That's because I let you!" The little kit had started to puff her self up to the point she felt like she was going to pop. As she watched her brother move to her mother's side she stomped her her paw for a second now determined. "I'll be the better hunter!" She called out as she moved back to her mother side with indignation. "Mom...can you teach me how to hunt like you and Odi?"
Rei had been silently watching the kits show sibling rivalry, compared to what her first litter had they were being peaceful. As Kiran made himself at home in her tail fur a small laugh escaped her lips. "If you were hoping to make her independant your off to a good start Kiran. Its hard to tell if you love her or you just like to argue with her." She gentely moved to circle around the young male.

"Aren't they the same thing," Kiran asked, only half his attention on what his mom was saying. The other half was on his big brother and other mom, huge ears turned towards the pair and tilted forward. He already knew what winged-mom would say though; she was so overprotective. He was a day old already, she couldn't keep coddling him!
Avatre snorted. "Don't try patronizing me. You're old enough to be my grandfather at least, so less of that mom stuff."
The way she eyed Odi now certainly had motherly admonishment to it, though it was more in concern for what he'd just proposed. "They're still newborn, the same size as my paws. Hunting lessons for anything bigger than mice can wait a few day." Her gaze got sterner. "And no hunting anything big enough to eat them."
She looked down at her daughter, running up to her with all her fur puffed out and making her look very round and adorable. Her gaze softened. "I'll show you a couple stalking exercises you can practice," she told Chandra. "Once you have the muscles for it we can start on actual hunting."

a small chuckle escaped from Rei's lips as she pondered Kiran's question. "In this family it is," she said it gentely as she turned her attenction toward the two conversing foxes now understanding his interest. "Don't worry, you will learn soon enough. Although if Odi teaches you expect a lot of work. Kits in Kana learned to fight among each other within hours. You should enjoy this time of kit hood." She said gentely to him despite her emotionless voice as she manuvered her head beside his.
"If I didn't how would I show I care?" Odi cooed back to her as he took a step closer."I'm not that old." He grumble as he thought over a few grey hairs he found out of place in his pelt.
"Don't be like that. Your a daeva, most animals are smaller then your paw. Its not like I'm just going to make him do what he doesn't want or put him in danger. He's still my kit brother, and besides I know you would hunt me down." Odi knew he wouldn't be able to just make Avarte agree, no that would be way to easy.
"if your worried about safety how about a compromise, I show him basic stances and light exercise right here inthe clearing. You be able to say what is to much and he have knowledge of the fundamentals so he doesn't have to learn it later." He pleaded his case meaning to put all the supervison power on the daeva shoulders, if he said he take the kit into the middle of the forest where she couldn't simply fly to she would disagree. "A basic dodge would not strain his muscles."

Avatre shot a look at Rei and Kiran, then glanced down at Chandra. "Go play with your brother, dearest," she crooned. "Maybe challenge him to a little fight to prove who's stronger." She winked. "Go for the scruff, it's the best place to hold to bring others into submission."
((I'm assuming Chandra's gonna run off and put this advice to the test. Avatre just wanted her gone so she could speak privately to Odi. Let me know if I god-moded though, and I can edit.))
Avatre waited until Chandra was well away from her and began talking to Rei and Kiran before she turned to Odi, lowering her voice. "It's not that I'm afraid he can't, I'm afraid he can."
She rolled her eyes. "You know what kits are like. A single victory and they think themselves unstoppable. Especially head-strong and hot-blooded types like Kiran. It'll take getting knocked down a few times before he learns caution, and I'd rather that knocking down not consist of hunting something bigger than he can handle cause he succeeded once with help. Just that once is enough to make him think he can do it alone."
She shot another covert look at her brood, playing with their other mother. "Cautioning him will have the opposite effect, just making him more rash. And you know children, even if we made Chandra promise not to tell she might let slip in a moment of temper if Kiran pushes her too far," she said, by way of explanation for sending her daughter off.
Avatre sighed, the sound rumbling deeply in her chest, kneading the ground with her claws and sending out little wisps of flame that lightly scoarched the earth. "Training will be good for him," she said, voice returning to a normal volume. "I just don't want him to see too much too soon." She gave Odi a frank gaze as she said this. Odi's very life had been about too much too soon, if the tales she'd gathered were true. Learning to fight for survival as a child, showing violence in front of his own children. His track record wasn't reassuring, even if she knew his intentions were good.

To Odi what Avarte said was nothing more then the biggest kit getting put in his place. Heck, he got put in his place many times through out his life and each time he learned a lesson. "You act like they have my bloodlust." He said taking the mocking tone of earlier out of his voice to look at the kits. "He does have daeva genes..." Odi could only guess the kits would potentially be larger and stronger so Kiran could get a superfox complex.
"Were both fighters Avarte, sooner or later someone is going to knock us down. If it's not another daeva its a doe that gets a sudden kick in. That's juxt part of like. Even Chandra's going to get an injury even if she hunts mice her entire life." He spoke with experience, he wasn't trying to torch her ideas of caution. Odi just believed that life led to a few injuries and kits healed a lot faster then adults.
"I agree with that." He said holding back a smile of Chandra being all puffed up. She was so cute, probably why he was unknowingly her personal servent. "That would of brought up a risky argument with him."
The gold eyed fox cast a cautionist look at the small flames escaping her paws. He knew from the daeva in Curor that fire could be dangerous. At the same time her words struck deep at him as the realization dawned on him, she didn't want him to make Kiran like himself. Ransom was a wild card by himself but Odi never tried to teach a kit what he had to learn. A small flare from the bloodlust quickly appeared and disappeared before he found himself the ability to speak. "Of course. If I did that I'd make him get the tattoo I carry just like mom." His voice took on the same errie emotionless sound she always carried, but the sarcasm was there. "How far do you really think I would push my own brother? One that I actually care about?"

Avatre frowned. "You don't seem to understand my point. I don't give a damn what's in his genes or who the hell is interacting with him. My point is," she said heatedly, trying to keep her voice low even when roughened with emotion, "that he is a male. A young male with a brother pouring all sorts of war stories into his head. He sees you as a strong warrior and thinks he can be the same, and he has no idea that right now he'd nothing more than a snack to a hungry badger or snake."
Though she'd managed to keep her voice to a hiss, a hint of anger made her bronze eyes into liquid metal. She had to consciously rein in her flames, lest the grow any stronger than the little wisps she'd been sending out.
"Yes he is going to meet with defeat, and yes he might just get seriously hurt a time or two. What I'm saying is I don't want those things to happen because he's trying to prove he's a man or to impress big brother." She glared at Odi. "What I'm saying is you have to be the voice of sense and reason, because right now he's just an sense-less and impulsive baby who thinks he could take on the world and win. Don't encourage that!"
Avatre knew she couldn't be everywhere and protect her children from everything, so it was up to her to teach them to protect themselves. Ideas of grandiouse battles where one always came out the victor were good for stories, but they had no place in the real world where pain and death were very real and a distinct possiblity if one didn't use their heads first.

Odi's own feeling on the matter burned just as much as her flames. To him this training was nothing, but she was right as much as he hated to admit. He did grow up too hard and too fast. "Avarte..." his voice was heavy with insolence for a moment before a sigh escaped his lips.
"Your right...I got ahead of myself, and didn't think about his personal risk." It was obvious he was yeilding to her knowledge, something he would expect Aracilis to be amazed of. "I grew up rough and learned everything the hard way. I just didn't want him to learn like I did. However, you know if I did teach him I'd just be hurting him"
Chandra walked back toward her mom and big brother who seemed to be irritated, like her. It was obvious she lost the battle from her fur covered in dirt; head low, and cheeks puffed out in anger. She sat down letting her anger showed as she soundly said "I didn't know where the scruff was." In an adorable way. Still oblivious to the argument. "Mom can you bath me please?"

Avatre gave Odi a Look. If she hadn't been so serious at that moment she would have dissolved into....well not giggles, because she didn't giggle, but an amused chuckle at least. It was the famous Look that all moms just instinctively knew how to give.
At least she seemed to have gotten her point across for now, which meant she could turn her attention back to her daughter. "Come here then," she said, scooping Chandra up with one of her massive paws and settling her down in front of her. "The scruff is right here," she said, lightly nipping the back of Chandra's neck. "Like when your smaller mommy has to pick you up." She set to work on straightening out and cleaning her daughter's fur, a delicate feat when said daughter was small enough to eat in one bite.
Kiran trotted over, quite proud of himself. "Toldja I'd beatja," he snickered, sticking his tongue out at his sister. He was usually the instigator of fights, verbally proding Chandra or nipping at her, and it was altogether even more satisfying to win a fight that she started.

Odi watched his little sister come over and a small smile appeared on his face as he study the little kit. She was obviously related to him from the way she got angry and dedication. Maybe one day she get over on Kiran. However as the little male came over and mocked his defeated opponent a small scowl crossed his face for a moment before disappearing.
He wasn't mad at the fact Kiran mocked Chandra, no, he was mad at the fact he did it at all. "Kiran, you do not mock your defeated opponent. There's no honor in that." Odi didn't carry his scorn in his voice, he hid it well. "You treat those you defeat with respect."
The n** didn't bother Chandra. Now she knew exactly where to grab when she get the chance to sneak attack Kiran. "Thanks mom." She said absently as she glared at her approaching brother. "I-" she paused at Odi's comment feeling more indignation. "He only beat me because..." she paused now turning her glare up at Odi who looked surprised at the new direction of anger. "Because....because...he's better at outright fighting!" She fumed at Odi before retreating deeper into her mothers chest fur. "Mom, I want to be strong just like you." Chandra said it with her sdness still in her throat.

Kiran just shrugged, looking entirely unconcerned. "That ain't mocking. If it was mocking I'd be laughin' and callin' her names and stuff." He looked up and met his brother's eyes with a touch of youthful defiance. "Just said I told her I'd be able to beat her. Just common sense, she ain't strong enough or sneaky enough yet."
Avatre made a mental note to teach Chandra how to cling and walk among tree branches. She had a feeling her daughter would quite enjoy being about to sneak attack her brother from above, and it would also teach both of them to be more aware of their surroundings.
"Don't worry love, we'll plot something up together and you can pay your brother back," she said, laying her head down on the ground and shifting her weight carefully so Chandra didn't get pinned under her.

(Sorry for so late. Been wrapped up in college stuff and swimming. Also Chandra looks really good with her Avarte pattern)
Odi showed his dislike at Kiran's response, if it was Ransom he would of set him straight. That was Avarte job, but when he grew up and was allowed to train Odi set him right. "Should watch your back. The weak have the tendency to get stronger." He said vaguely as he looked up at Avarte with a you were right look.
Chandra turned her attenction back to her mom feeling much better. "Really? You could teach me how to attack like you do?" She said a vengeful smile crossing her face. Maybe her wings would grow in was the thought in her kit head.
She suddenly started grooming her mom's head. "You should groom your self more like mother mom. Her pelt is always clean and shiny. Especially with your pretty pattern like mine." She turned her attenction to look at her brother, his pattern was pretty like mom's and Odi but she preffered Avarte's.

((lol That's alright, I took a long time to reply too. Life has been eating me alive and I got distracted with another shop > _>
XD Also, you should see who me and Yush plotted as his maybe-mate. I almost feel sorry for Kiran.))
Kiran just shrugged like the prospect was unconcerning. "Then I'll just get stronger too," he responded. The solution seemed like a fairly obvious one to him.
Avatre returned Odi's look with a slight upward quirk of one of her eyebrows, but otherwise didn't react. She didn't really think there was anything any of them could do about her son's attitude, not at this particular point in his development, and since there was nothing she could do she figured she'd keep her nose out of the conversation. Chandra would probably notice and object if her attention started to wander anyway.
"There's more of me to groom than with you or your other mom," Avatre replied, rolling her bronze eyes to the side to glance at her daughter. "The process is a lot more intricate and time-consuming, I prefer to just clean up whenever I get messy."

((I'm just gonna do an ending, since we kinda reached a blank point now.))
"Okay now, time for bed," Avatre said, scooping her kits up. She ignored the protests (she was very good at ignoring others) and settling down in her old nest point, curling up around Kiran and Chandra and extending a wing over them to cover them. Sometimes Rei joined them, sometimes she slept close by. Odi was usually nearby, but rarely joined the pile.
Probably cause of Avatre herself...
She yawned, loosing interest in the thought, laying her head down on her paws and closing her eyes. Already the kits had stopped their grumbling and had curled up. A tiny smile crossed her face, then she slipped away into sleep.
