He had recieved a hard blow to the back of his head and while he was sturdy and, some would say, thick-skulled, it didn't mean it hurt like hell. Just as he was about to deal with the ghoul, he felt the world tilt and looked down at Herryk a moment before he noticed the murky water rising around them. Oh Jack!
While he rode on Herryk for a few seconds, the force of the blow threw them all apart and Calder landed far away with a hard "omph' and then laid there a moment as the world turned and swayed in and out of focus.
What did a boil have to do to drown someone around here?

The world turned upside down as everything underneath her heaved in a rush of geyser water, and she slammed first into the ceiling, and then into an empty tile. Both hits left her swimming in dizziness, and as soon as she landed her body arched, before flopping back down again.
She would remain there for now, lying splattered on her back, eyes closed.
This was horrible.
Her hair was filthy.

Christof had just turned with a sigh to go tend to the fighting first years (and Calder) before suddenly he was faced with an eruption of water that sent all three flying. Oh, Hell! he glanced around frantically to try to see where they had gone to, wobbling on his tile before Freya landed nearby. With a groan of concern, he hobbled towards her, flailing to try to urge her to remain calm. Stupid first-years! They were going to get them ALL killed! Hopefully none of her lovely Parts were damaged in the fall.
He had to assume Calder was okay. Kelpies were sturdy, after all. And Herryk was a mountain of meat, he was sure he was fine, but despite all her talk, as far as Christof was concerned, the Valkyrie was a blushing delicate flower, as all ghouls (save for Mistress) aught to be.

Then, of course, geysers.
His three teammates landed alright. Herryk the furthest, which he couldn't have been more happy about. Barth thought it might be better that they...move on. He wasn't sure how much of Calder hanging on to Herryk he could take.

Herryk saw Freya land hard in the muck, and he felt bad for her -- he really did. He ached when he saw her land. He felt her pain.
Was he going to help her?
No. Way.
Shuffling backward a few feet, he was so close to leaving this horror-room behind, but he didn't want to just leave Freya and the others (mostly Freya) behind. His heart lifted when he saw Christof approach Freya. Maybe the igor would pick her up and bring her to him.
"Freya," he called out, hoping to alert her of the patchwork, "Herryk thinks that Christof is going to help Freya. Just... just stay there. Freya can do it."
And then the tile across from him exploded.
Herryk shrieked.

Like a night in shining armor amount a rippling magnificent steed, Christof limped and hobbled through the probably-only-a-small-percentage-fecal-matter-and-other-wise-rot infested swamp, gingerly crouching by Freya's still form. Poor thing, she had been so full of vigor before, now crushed... He sighed, not waiting for an answer to his unspoken invitation before hefting her up in his monstrous left arm to throw her over his hunch, ready to carry her to the end.
It was definitely better than carrying Barth, that was for sure.

Calder rubbed the muck from his eyes and undid the ribbon in his hair, finding most of his hair had already been throw out of it's restraint during the blast. That little hussy got between him and his meal! She hit him in the head. Oh, she was not getting away with that!
Rising from the dirt, Calder rubbed his face somewhat clean on the back of his sweater sleeve and then started to move. "Nie-a Ni-fin Mahig." He huffed, slurring his native tongue as narrow and flaring his nostrals, darkening eyes settled on the limp form of the ghoul. The fight wasn't over.

Freya felt someone pick her up and carry her, and it was no surprise that she assumed it was Herryk. So she slumped over the hump, wrapping her arms around the neck, and sighing in pain.
"My head hurts, my face hurts, my back hurts, and I am covered in the filth. I am starting to sees why everyone was trying to warns me abouts the field trips."
Oh, Freya. Ohhh, Freya. You naive soul.

The hunchback wobbled a bit- Alright, so, those feathery wings while possibly nice and, well, feather light, when dry seemed to have acted like sponges in the wet and muck. As she shifted, he wobbled on his uneven feet, staggerng backward a moment as he regained his composure. She was.... a lot heavier than she looked. But it was the mud. He was... MOSTLY certain if he removed her skull pin she wouldn't turn into a horse or a dragon or something else unseemly.
Fairly certain.
With two arms gripping her, his third gently shifted out from under his coat to pat her back just under those filthy wings comfortingly as he hobbled forward. They were getting close to the end, and Herryk, at least, seemed to have gotten out of harm's way! He hoped. Calder up ahead, that was good, and he looked fine. Angry and silly in those decorative glasses, but fine. He tried to spy Barth but there was a lot of Wing obscuring his view. He'd double back to carry him as well if he had to.
Their trip had only just begun and already he was starting to feel exhausted.

As Christof teetered, Calder returned back to finish what Freya had started when she slammed her head into his skull. One good attack deserved another, and looking at the back of her head, he noticed her braid. The one thing she was cleaning and taking care of when she first started glaring at him.
"You wanna head butt me? Huh?" Reaching out, he wrapped his fingers about the braid and then, without hesitation, he pulled it!

Christof, Freya, and Calder were not far from him. Now absolutely smothered in mud, Calder reached up to go after Freya again.
"Calder," Barth sighed, "knock it off, will you? We've got four rooms to go, and we can't spend them...squabbling. Weren't you just saying we were all in this together?"
Some more together than others, apparently- not the point.

Freya's head tilted back violently when her braid was pulled, and she snapped her head back up to glare at Calder. She would have spat some snarky response as well, if not for the shot of water that sprayed up right in her face from the tile she'd just been carried off of. Her braid was carried straight up, and her entire face was caught in the spray, but her body was safe in Christof's arms.
Wait.
Christof?!
When the spray had died off, she shook her head and coughed out the water that had gone up her nose, before tilting her head back and staring at Christof, an inch away from his face.
"Hallo, thar." Her scratchy voice coughed out. "Didn't realize yeh were the ones carryings me." She patted him on the hump and wing, before slumping back down and glaring daggers at Calder. She'd have some words for him.. later. When she didn't feel like she'd just been drowned.

Herryk remained where he was, inhaling sharply when Calder pulled Freya's braid. His brows drew down in a sharp frown before he stomped a little closer to the kelpie. Baring his teeth, Herryk took a fist and smashed it into an open palm, all the while staring at Calder.
Nobody pulled Freya's hair except for Herryk. (Heh).
Nobody.

Christof was about to turn around and scold Calder sharply when suddenly he and everyone else in the general vicinity were hurtled into the air. He gave a muffled yelp as hunch collided with ceiling before landing directly on his face with a groan.
Ow.
Stupid... STUPID Kelpie! SURE it had been Herryk's shifting of weight that seemed to have set off the geyser but all Christof knew was that the Kelpie had intervened in his possibly doing a nice favor for a ghoul. With a snarl, he scrambled to his feet, staggering back with a snarl as he turned to glower sharply at the kelpie.
Enough was enough. Calder had to be tamed if they wanted to get anything done here! His hand immediately dug into his bag, pulling out the length of thin rope he had brought with, and in a heartbeat had fashioned it into a make-shift lasso.
He was going to wrangle in the trouble maker if it killed him.
By him he meant Calder.
