"My usually suggestions for celebration aren't exactly appropriate for the situation." His tone was dry and -- oh. Oh, his tone was dry. There was sarcasm, teasing laced through it. There was almost something suggestive. This was like a normal Ever, for a moment, his face more familiar behind the haze of his cigarette. Given a week, he might bounce back fully. Ever was surprisingly durable.
"We can just get dinner. And drinks, I guess. I'd say somewhere nice, but I don't really do somewhere nice, so maybe like...Applebees?" Applebees was nice enough, while still being within his price range, right? "Or. I don't know. Something like that."

“Yeah… I like them.” He nodded relaxing a little. “Maybe I’ll have a place by then, we can discuss appropriate in new quarters.” He said half stumbling over the suggestion as he glanced ‘casually’ away, still awkward at the flirtations that Ever let spill so casually. “Applebees is better than most ‘somewhere nice-es’ anyhow. He said with a small nod. “Better food and their not trying to get you to eat the poison filters of geese under a fancy name.” He crinkled his nose. No matter how he’d ever been coerced into eating it liver was his nemesis of the food world, well, that and the fried chicken livers his mother had contrived to cook once.

Ever nodded, taking one more moment to finish off his cigarette, and then abandon it in what had probably been a cold cup of tea. Zac wasn't drinking it anyway, and by now it had gone cold so -- it could keep them from burning the dorm down. That would definitely cause more trouble than being found with a guy in his room, wouldn't it?
With the last of the tension slipping out of his shoulders, Ever sank down to sit next to Zac again, slumping into an echo of the younger man's posture -- probably a bit more hunched, a little more bent. He wall taller, and it made it so very few positions were actually comfortable to sit in, few chairs fit quite right. At least this way he could stretch out his legs. "Everything okay now?"

“I think so,” he said carefully, considering Ever’s pose as he unraveled into something more relaxed. “You?” He asked in return, watching the lines of Ever’s face though he had made a brief huff of protest at the abuse of his former tea. He fought the rather childish urge to prod a finger into the ticklish area of Ever’s rib cage. It was a close fight; after all it was a tempting target.

He was quiet for a moment, gone unconvincingly serious; his eyes too dreamy, too deliberately staring into the distance, too obviously thinking about that. It wasn't natural, and it didn't have that same disconnected-from-the-world edge he'd had before. Ever was back in his skin, some, and was only playing at drama, now. Chewing on it. Making Zac stew a little.
"...my face still hurts." He shifted it meaningfully, fingers lifted up to his cheekbone as wide eyes settled on Zac. "I think it needs a kiss."

A long pause, a stifled laugh half smothered by trying not to alert people in the near by rooms. “God, you are…” He stifled another laugh and twisted himself up to look studiously at the ‘injured’ cheek before nodding very seriously at Ever.
“Mmm… serious deficit you have there. Might need to refer you to a specialist.” He could barely keep the strait face as he said it, though he did his best. “… I suppose we should start with something ‘in house’ though.”
A quick glance to be absolutely sure he’d locked the door and he pressed a light kiss to the injured cheek.
"Anywhere else hurt?" he said quirking an amused eyebrow.

Ever caught him around the waist before he could run off again, tugging Zac down onto the bed and holding him there, that mock-serious expression still mostly controlling his features. The smile was threatening to break through; he held it off as best he could, eyebrows raised, but it snuck through in his eyes. He still looked tired, but at least it was an easier tired, now, less miserable on top of it.
"...I think everywhere hurts." He could just stay the night at Zac's, this time, instead of wandering his way home alone. It was nothing sleep couldn't fix.
