Lattice didn't stop him from making sure that no one would stumble into her and even willingly let him guide her around to ensure the safety of herself and others. It was always good to have someone around that was watchful it allowed her to relax her own watch and focus on enjoying the shop which was much nicer than the one she had mentioned.
The ghoul blinked behind her mask and tilted her head up toward Herryk, "You'd allow me to mark you? I wouldn't mind giving you a tattoo or something similar," her tone had lowered considerably as if talking of a secret, "but if you name me as the source I could get in trouble with my clan at least somewhat."
Yes there were some rules but what Elders didn't know wouldn't hurt them as her Sister often said.
"I will gladly mark Herryk however he wishes to be marked," She sounded almost excited about the prospect, even touched.
She fell silent as she looked over at the selection until she found a nice purple toned vial of ink and lifted up, "This is a lovely shade."

Herryk liked the sound of excitement in her voice, but he didn't like the fact that she could get in trouble if his tattoo was found out about -- if it was discovered that she'd given it to him.
"Herryk is very good at keeping secrets," he confided softly, watching her pick up the vial of violet ink. The tattoo wouldn't have to be big, just... big enough. He reached forward with a massive hand and carefully picked up another vial of ink, this one a deep midnight blue.
"Herryk likes this one," he said quietly, holding it up to the light. "Blue is Herryk's favorite color." It must be, anyway. Why else would he feel compelled to reach for that particular vial?

Lattice nodded a bit to Herryk, "Then there will not be an issue," she said in return. Honestly it didn't matter if she got punished or not in the end it was a chance to try out her craft as well as make sure she always could find Herryk when he was needed most. She gazed over at that and parted her lips a bit letting out a soft 'ooh~!' she really enjoyed the shade it was very rich.
"My Sister's favorite color is also blue, it is why I wear a bit of blue on my costume," she confided with a small smile. It was a choice of aesthetics as well as just a way to keep her Twin with her for always.
"What is your skin like?" She asked curiously. It'd help her figure out what to mark his skin with.

Herryk was confused by her question. What was his skin like? Cool, maybe? Like.. a cold rock? One corner of his mouth pulled up as he mulled over that question. How did he answer that? Well, the best way he knew how.
Since he was standing close to Lattice and she'd let him take her hand before, Herryk didn't hesitate to grasp her fingers again and lift them to his chest, placing her hand very carefully palm-side down near his collarbone. Her skin held no warmth and it idly pleased the Draugr to see that they were similar in that aspect.
"Maybe Lattice can tell Herryk what his skin is like?"

She didn't really mind or protest when her hand was taken and placed at the collarbone. Her fingertips wiggled against his skin as she trailed it along quietly, "Pretty smooth," she said thoughtfully, "but firm."
Then there was a silent thought, "What color is your skin? Would you want something that shows up on it?"
It'd make the process a bit more difficult but at least he'd have something to show for it if they went through with the ordeal. Not that she minded if he wanted ink the same color of his skin whatever it might be. "Does Herryk know what kind of mark he wants?"
Lattice probably wouldn't end up giving him only a single dot when it came down to it Engravers were known to get carried away when the ink speaks to them.

"Herryk's skin is very dark. Black, almost." He held up his other hand and stared at the back of it as if trying to decide the best way to describe the color exactly. He chuckled softly. "Whatever Lattice thinks would look best. Herryk guesses the only thing that would show up might be something dark." He'd leave that up to her.
He shrugged at her next question. "Whatever Lattice wants to do. Nothing too big, Herryk would not want Lattice to get in trouble." No, that's the last thing he would wish to have happen.
"What is Lattice's favorite color?" He would have to come back here and purchase for her some ink of her favored color. It would be a nice gesture, Herryk thought.

"Handsome," she said simply as her hand fell away from his skin as she went to look through the vials that were being offered. The ink would need to be a special blend for it to probably show up proper, "Not unless we could get a lighter tone to work but it might look silly," she said softly with a small shrug. Mayhaps a pure black would work or even that darkly hued blue he held up prior. It would take some thought.
She set down the purple colored ink then moved and picked up a vial of burgundy red ink and held it up, "This is my favorite color. Red. Any red really but this is my favorite shade."
Lattice turned the vial over as she held it up for Herryk to see, "Isn't this a lovely color?"

Herryk leaned in close, eyes narrowed as he peered at the deep crimson ink. He nodded -- there was something eerily familiar about the color. His brows drew down as he frowned at the vial, but a split second later he was drawing back, his expression flicking back to the smile he'd been wearing previously.
"It is nice," he said warmly, his eyes sliding to her face. She was truly in her element here in this shop. It was obvious Lattice was utterly enjoying herself, and that made Herryk smile.
"Lattice can choose the next shop whenever she likes, or if she prefers, Herryk is happy to stay in this shop for a while."

She nodded lightly as she started to gather the various inks for purchase even taking the one that Herryk had noted to be his favorite color as well as two other random ones, "I think I would like to take a look around Hoarders and then I am done," Lattice said softly.
Lattice moved toward the register so she could make her payment for the inks and get them in a nice little bag so that they could move on. Once her purchases were made she turned toward her large friendly companion and smiled lightly as her hand reached out toward him.
"I am ready to go," she was content enough to spend time with Herryk for as long as time and he allowed it.

Herryk beamed at Lattice as he clasped her hand in his own. He was very careful about the needles that graced Lattice's arm as he escorted her out of the door.
"Herryk knows where Hoarders is," he said jovially, moving in the general direction of the shop, "and Herryk knows how tiring the maul can be." He squeezed her delicately slender hand carefully with his own, glancing out of the corner of his eye at the engraver.
"Almost there."
It didn't take long for them to move to the shop, and once inside Herryk inhaled deeply. There was something about the smell of the interior of the shop that Herryk enjoyed. "This store is very big," he mumbled quietly out of habit, "is there any kind of book in particular that Lattice is seeking?"

She held onto his hand as she followed him faithfully her fingertips squeezing back at his hand as she followed smiling lightly. There was something reassuring about Herryk and she enjoyed the fact that he seemed to like her presence as well. When he signaled they were almost there she simply nodded her head.
Once at the bookshop she looked around glancing up at him when he spoke and nodding a bit, "There is a haiku book I wish to purchase and then maybe you could help me home and perhaps show me where your room is so I know where to find you?" Then of course she would show him where she made her home as well but that went unsaid. For now she quietly gazed around for a moment leading Herryk toward a section called 'POETRY'.

Herryk trailed after Lattice like an enormous puppy, still clasping her hand in his larger one. He wasn't entirely sure what a haiku was but it didn't really matter because it seemed to make Lattice happy. As long as it made Lattice happy, she could have all the haikus she wanted.
"Herryk lives in the undead dorm," he said uselessly. "We can stop there before Herryk takes Lattice home?" That sounded like a relatively good idea. "On the first floor, so Lattice doesn't need to take any stairs." It was also relatively near the entrance, which would make it even easier for her to find if she needed to seek him out for anything.
Poetry. "Do ghouls like poetry?" He knew that he didn't really like it. Maybe it was a ghoul-thing.

"May I mark your door with a small bit of ink?" Lattice asked curiously not minding his presence nearby when she paused in the poetry section before she moved a free hand that had bags hooked on the wrist to get the book she wanted. She was determined to mark each door with just a little ink it would help her get around and find those she most wanted to be with. It was an idea that had begun to seed with her when she thought about what her Sister would do in her situation.
At his question she shrugged her shoulders, "Not all ghouls but some do I suppose. I only happen to enjoy haikus the most. They are short poems about various things." She explained to her large friend. Lattice seemed thoughtful before she explained, "You could do something like explain a glorious battle in about three short phrases with a haiku and it wouldn't miss a thing."

Herryk looked thoughtful as he nodded, feeling foolish when he realized that Lattice probably couldn't see the gesture. "Lattice is more than welcome to mark Herryk's door however she sees fit," he said quietly, reaching forward to nab the same book that Lattice had picked up.
Carefully opening up the book so as not to crease the spine, Herryk glanced through the pages. Haiku poems didn't make much sense to the draugr, but he was willing to learn about them, especially since they interested Lattice.
"Hmphmm." The thoughtful sound was quietly mumbled as Herryk read a few poems to himself. "These poems ... how do they work?"

"Thank you very much Herryk. I am glad you will allow me the honor to mark your door," She murmured softly with a small smile.
"Haikus work on syllables. One line is five syllables, second is seven syllables, and then the last one is five syllables again," Lattice explained quietly seeming thoughtful as she released his hand for the time being so she could look around in the book until she came upon a page seeming thoughtful, "For example," she began she took his hand again trying to get him to hold it up for her so she can tap his palm for each syllable to make sure he gets the idea.
"The spring air is still. My blade is coated in blood. My foe is now dead."
She finished counting out the syllables on Herryk's hand and she closed the book with a small chuckle and a shrug, "Not everyone has an interest in them."
