GalateasFire broken_bleeding_angel I'm going to find and go through my old school Fae books to see what I can find. ♥ In the meantime we can work on the layout of the castle and it's grounds. How many levels are there going to be? How big is the garden and rooms? How many rooms will there be? What will it all be made out of? (Marble! D:< Pretty, expensive, glittering, glorious, marble! D:<) I'll draw us out a landscape plan and do the several layers so we can plan this all out and have images for our guests to use from. ♥ That will be great, then we can visual the building layout...of course if it is a labyrinth like creation then it will be twisty, turny and confusing. I like the idea of marble, especially since they are so many kinds and shades!! You can have black, white, cream, red, veined marbles....I also like the idea of crystal...in the form of lighting and wall/ceiling hangings. 13 levels for 13 hours? That always seems to be the magic number..but again straight from the labyrinth. Seems to me that the garden should be large...maybe totally surround the castle except for the entrance? An will the garden also be a hedge maze? In that case the garden could cover most of the grounds...Just throwing out thoughts, feel free to offer up other suggestions. smile I guess we don't want to overdo it on number of rooms, too many and it might be a little overwhelming. Well we need a basement..... OMG! The Labyrinth could be a giant rose garden and that the dew/nectar on/off the roses are all the dreams and inspiration of mankind. And different coloured roses are different kinds of dreams and emotions. ♥

Plus hedges made out of roses...you really wouldn't want to push your way through one of those to try and get to the other side of the wall.

I'll chime in a bit more after I get some sleep. In the mean time, you guys have fun planning without me. blaugh *goes to bed* (Subbing elementary school everyday is seriously kicking my butt. I hope I sub high school next week.)

I can't stop thinking of that scene in Alice in Wonderland where Alice comes upon the gardeners who are frantically painting all of the white roses in the garden red because they planted the white ones by mistake and didn't want to make the Queen of Hearts mad! (Eesh, I don't blame them! lol)
Don't mind me...I love the Alice books, as well as the old Disney cartoon. whee
Oh, and I got invited to go with a group of friends to a corn maze at a local farm on the Saturday afternoon before Halloween. It'll still be daylight, so hopefully there won't be any scary things. sweatdrop But I've never been to a corn maze or a hedge maze or anything like that before, so I'm excited! xd

I am kind of fascinated by the concept of roses that you've been discussing. Heck maybe everyon's avatar can also have a different colored rose or something? I like roses for art...They're romantic.
Speaking of I get this is "escape your doom" kind of motif for guests. But are we having romantic conflict among the characters as well?
Have we discussed what kind of creatures/beings we are going to use yet?
I get we are basing a lot of this off of the Labrynth. Lolz.
But I like everything so far so...I just feel like I want to contribute but can't think.

Blue crystals here and there would make awesome decorations for our room thread. We could even follow the Never Ending Story and have it in a tower like the Ivory Tower. That would centralize everyone into a workable area to start with. Part of the plot could be leaving the tower. Has anyone seen Mirrormask? We could have some trippy dream elements in it like from that movie as well. But, we NEED puffy sleeves too! whee

You don't like puffy sleeves? D: Mirrormask was a Jim Henson movie like Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal, thought it wasn't made until the 90s. It has about the same feel as The Never Ending Story, but weirder. It follows very odd logic, but it's amazing, though admittedly a bit dark. But, then again, it seems like most 80s fantasy movies were a bit dark in some way or other.
