If you look at Means-Christensen, Snyder, and Negy's study on the Marital Satisfaction Inventory-Revised, you can actually see that it is shown that homosexual couples are just as good, if not *better* functioning than heterosexual couples. How amazing is that?! The study showed that the ONLY dimension that homosexuals did worse than heterosexuals was perceived levels of social support (uh...duh?)!!!

That's cool, do you have a link to the article? biggrin

Yeah...hang on a sec and I'll see if I can get it...I got it from my library's website on PsycINFO database, so I'll have to see if I can transfer it...be right back with it!

BINGO! Please excuse all of the advertisements, but I believe its all there. It is about 16 pages long, but well worth the read.

The Marital Satisfaction Inventory-Revised (MSI-R) is a survey for nontraditional couples seeking relationship/marital therapy. Wording of the questions were changed to include "partner" and "relationship" instead of "spouse" and "marriage".

I hope you find this as enjoyable as I did!

Sorry, iMito. I hope I didn't confuse you too much. Raeden Michelle is my other account. I hope that article is as interesting to you as it was to me! heart

Thanks, it was very interesting! Something else I found that was interesting:

http://www.365gay.com/Newscon07/05/050707parent.htm

The study commissioned by the liberal government was suppressed by the conservative government. Whilst the study may be liberally biased, this doesn't give any reason for anyone to suppress it.

That angers me that they would suppress it! It's legitimate research! Just because whomever doesn't want to believe it, doesn't mean they can suppress it!! *sigh* That was interesting though. Yay Canadians for the research!

If anything if a child was adopted into a home of homosexuals then they would be more accepting of gays and lesbains and that's all I see that would come out of it compaired to a straight couple adopting.

gay and lesbians should be able to adopt, and theyre some other choices too. lesbians could have artifical ensemination, which is that sperm donors can be placed into the woman, be fertalized and birthed, another good thing about this is that the woman can pick the fathering sperm. another chioce is that a gay person, (male) can ejaculate into a cup thingie and a woman can be a surrogate mother.

My dream is to adopt kids even when I was young and didn't know I was gay I still wanted to adopt... It gives a home to a kid in need and gays should be aloud to adopt kids

Huh. Guess I somehow screwed-up somwhere, my heterosexual relationships usually lasting longer than my homosexual ones.

Then again, my two longest relationships were with head-cases, so there could be a different factor altogether.

Gay adoption should be allowed! Any child who lives in Foster care isn't really getting to experience what a real family is like. In order to grow up and function in society they need the love only two parents can give, no matter their parents gender.

What matters is the child and who will love it.

I hope to adopt children of my own one day, I dont know the future or who I'll end up with (if I end up with any one). But I know I'd be a loving mom and I'd try my best! And that's what should count.

its not 1940 people are way more supportive of gays especially the younger generation we should be able to adopt it is not no different than a straight couple I have a couple of friends that have gay parents and they turned out to be normal hetero people people think cause the parents are gay that the child will take after them.

Homosexuals can adopt children in over half the states, including D.C. *Which close to where I live*
I think that anyone should be allowed to adopt! There are too many children who don't have families. I plan on adopting instead of actually giving birth anyway. smile
