The shadow tapped her shadowy little fingers together as she concocted her plan.
"A couple of rooms over from where you'll be put is where most of everyone else's shadows have been locked up" She paused to laugh a bit. "I'm one of the few who hasn't been caught. I've been able to lay low long enough to make jerkface forget about me. If you could find a way to get it open, you'd have a whole mass of sentient shadows to help you take down that little snot once and for all!" she explained. "The door only blocks us kinds of shadows, the ones with our souls stuck in them, but yours should be able to slip in without a problem and open it up from the inside!"

He shrugged a little, not entirely visible to anyone watching him, but enough. "Seems easy enough. What's the catch?"

The shadow whipped back into place, silent and mimicing as two more childguards passed by from another hallway. They didn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary as they moved silently on, and once they were well out of range once again, she popped back out.
"Besides multitudes of those things walking around? Well, there's a time limit. The ceremony begins one hour after you enter that room. There are physical locks as well as magical ones, and snotbrain does random sweeps of the enclosure to see if there's anything odd with the shadows. Those are easy to tell when they are about to happen. When you feel your shadow start to shiver randomly? He's starting one and you need to get your shadowbuddy to a neutral position. The encloser is safe from these sweeps," she explained.

Deskri eyed the childguards as they walked by, but aside from that, did nothing.
"And what exactly is a neutral position?" He frowned. This was steadily becoming a lot more complicated than he wanted. "And those trapped idiots are gonna know what to do when the door is open, right? And what do you mean by "magical" anyway?"

The shadow cackled. "Like how I just did, act like a normal shadow. Hook up to a lamp or something. I dunno...." she explained. "And I mean, if there was just physical locks, the shadows could slip out of even the smallest of cracks, but the magic makes it so their super stuck. I can't get in, they can't get out y'know? But it only applies to us special cases. Your shadow should be able to get in and open it up from the inside, right?"

Deskri's getting an odd vibe from the shadow chick now. Not that she's lying, but that under all her sass something's bothering her. Whether or not he acts upon this feeling his up to him

Deskri stared at her for a moment, expression blank, before it turned to one of mistrust. "Okay look, random shadow helper, I'm in over my head in some crazy brain washing cult and I'm supposed to believe that you're here to help me do what I'm trying to do? Before I unleash god know's what you're gonna have to give me some assurance that this won't bite me in the a** or get me killed."

The shadow was quiet for a time, as is mulling over what to say next.
"You're different. That's the only assurance I've got" she said, her voice lacking in the pep and sass it once had. "I've been trying to get out of this situation for years. I've seen good people turn into nothing more then a hollow shell and a shade just like me...." She paused again, and the quiet was a little unnerving.
"This is the only chance you have. He can't control us with the ring, only trap us, and it's the only way you'll get anywhere near him to take it and stop this whole thing...."
Silence fell again, but this time it was because the child leading them had stopped in front of a door. "Here is where you need to wait." She said blankly as she opened it and motioned for Deskri to wait inside.

"Oh that's so reassuring." Deskri grumbled to himself and stopped when then child stopped. He looked into the room, then at the child... And then started to head in.

As soon as he was in enough the door closed behind him.
The room was simple and bland, and he could tell it was obviously not an illusion like that other room. A simple bed, desk and chair, and chest of drawers were there.
But something was different all of a sudden. He felt stronger, more connected with shadows. Strong enough that he could...punch Cedric back in the face after Cedric popped him one for being annoying or something along those lines. He looked down and noticed that he had not only his shadow attached to him, but that annoying little 'helper' had popped herself off of the creepy child and attached herself to him. And while he found the freeloader annoying, a thought popped into his mind. That if being connected to one of these shadows made him feel stronger, imagine what a whole ROOM full of them could help him do.
"And that is my actual reassurance," the shadow quipped, her sass right back in her voice. "Now are we doing this or what?"

Any power tripping that would have gone through his head was ruined the instant she spoke. Sure he'd have an army of shadows at his disposal and would be a lot stronger.... but he'd also have to deal with that many shadows TALKING AT HIM. No.
With a grunt of resigned agreement, he nodded. "Fine fine, what first, sneak out under the door and head out to the next room? Or is it more complicated than that?" He placed his hands on his hips, eying the room suspiciously. Blank places like this made him feel uneasy. It was almost too simple..

"Well the door we need to go through first is just a couple doors down this hall. I know that they're being kept there because that's the door they shove them in. Just sneak over, unlock the door, and we should be in business!" she said with a firm nod

"Great. You don't actually know what it looks like inside do you." He sighed, rolling his eyes. Well, either way he didn't have much of a choice in the matter. Make a risky rescue attempt, or get ******** in the head by some weirdo kid. He'd rather make the risky rescue attempt.
A pair of white eyes and a mouth appeared in his shadow. It blinked a few times, then scurried along the floor to the door. Slowly it slid out, looking around before scurrying down the hallway to the door in question. Deskri himself remained still, mostly staring blankly ahead. He wasn't actually looking at anything with his eyes, rather he was looking at the world through his shadow's.
The shadow in the hall looked around again, then started to raise up the wall to reach for the doorknob to open it up.
