When they slid back into the limo, Riyo held onto the seat as the driver sped off. "Uh... Anywhere inparticular ma'am?"

"JUST DRIVE." She spoke louder than she meant to, but frowned and sighed shortly after. Okay. Time to lower the 'oh s**t' levels. They were gone now.

Glancing over at Jericho, Riyo couldn't help but smirk a little. "Yeah? Well... It felt good too. I need to hit people more often." Was she joking? Eh. Maybe, maybe not.

Raising her hand though, it was easy to see she probably didn't hit people very often. Her knuckles were already bruised from colliding with that fat head.

... And then the situation sat in on her. ********. Lifting her hand slightly, she removed the top hat from her head and sat it in the empty seat next to them. "... I'm sorry about all that. If I would've known..." She started, but resisted the urge to make some stupid excuse. "... You didn't deserve that." Riyo decided on that instead. Because stating the obvious was SO much better...

Ears falling back, Riyo reached behind to grab her tail and smooth out the bristled fur. "I'd ask what I can do to make it up to you, but that generally turns into something worse than what had happened before anyways."

"Heh. Well if you didn't, I probably would have done it, "Jericho shrugged before looking as Riyo lifted up her hand. It looked like it was beginning to bruise. He supposed she didn't hit things all too often, though he didn't exactly expect her to anyway. Not with being in a business and all.

"Eeeeh... not like I hadn't heard some similar things before," he shrugged, "Can't always foresee these things and all."

Though, around home, there weren't too many cases for racism. That didn't mean it never happened.

"Just don't worry about it too much. Only person who really got hurt was that jerk back there anyway," he grinned.

"I hope he feels that for awhile. I hate dealing with those uppity demons with a sense of entitlement. In reality, there are at least 20 other demons that can do the same thing they do and probably do it better." Leaning back, the ghoul seemed to relax. "I always keep that in mind when sitting at my desk. It makes me work harder. My mother didn't..." Her thoughts flew back to a different time, half-lidded eyes looking towards the sun roof. "She was convinced that nobody could do what she did better than her. It's deadly to believe you're immortal." Whether it was truth or not.

Sighing, she folded her arms over her stomach. "So. What now? We can try another fancy restaurant if you want... Or just get pizza. Up to you." Picky with her food Riyo was not. Unless... It was bugs. Eugh.

"Wouldn't be too surprised if that was the case," Jericho said before looking over towards Riyo as she started to speak a little more. He took note that she spoke of her mother in past tense. Was she dead or something like that? Furrowing his brow a bit, he shook his head then took her question into consideration.

"Hmm.. pizza sounds good. These fancy places seem like they might be too much trouble for what they're worth," he added. Meeting with one elitist demon was more than enough for him in one day.

More trouble than they were worth. That sounded pretty accurate. "Pizza it is then." Riyo agreed. "In fact, we don't even have to deal with people. We'll just order it and eat in the limo."

Taking the phone out of her pocket, Riyo scanned her contacts and finally spotted the pizza place she usually ordered from. "What do you like on your pizza? Meat? Fish?" She liked both. And... Would probably be getting anchovies.

Grinning, Jericho nodded at that idea.

"Sounds good to me," he said before thinking about toppings, "I prefer meat. But whatever is fine except for veggies."

The dragon made a bit of a face at the idea of eating plant matter. That stuff was just straight up nasty.

Meat it was then. Hitting the call button, Riyo went ahead and ordered two pizzas for pick-up, the larger one being for Jericho.

Afterwards, she alerted the limo driver to their change of destination. It'd probably take as long to get there as it would to make their food. Not bad.

And now for the dreaded small-talk. Her least favorite part of any day. "So uh." Ah s**t, what should she ask him about? "Do you have parents?" Oddly shaped question, but the thoughts of her mother got her wondering. Considering she didn't have parents (anymore), Riyo figured it was better to ask that, rather than assume he did and ask what their professions were.

Shifting his wings to get more comfortable, Jericho leaned back to relax while Riyo called for food. It had been awhile since he had a good pizza, so hopefully that would change fairly soon.

"Yeah. They live pretty far off from where the school is, in a kinda mountainous area," he nodded before hesitating a bit, "Since.. you were kinda speaking in past tense.. I'm guessing something happened?"

"Ah. That must be nice." Living away from town like that. She imagined it was pretty peaceful compared to all this.

At Jericho's question, Riyo's glance turned to the carpet. "You could say that. A lot of things happened... Technically." Her fingers started twiddling nervously. Well, if she was going to tell anyone, it might as well be Jericho. By now she had a feeling he wouldn't say anything about it. "My father left when I was very young because he apparently didn't want me. My mother..." She started to trail off.

"Death would be a kind alternative to what happened to her."

Frowning at the recap of what had gone on in Riyo's life regarding what happened to her parents, Jericho glanced down before letting out a sigh.

"Ah... sorry to hear," he said. He was well aware that not everyone had good homelife or childhood really. Whenever he heard about things like this, it made him feel a sort of gratitude that his parents were able to be around and were fairly supportive. It was too bad others couldn't have the same sort of experience.

"It must have been pretty tough for you then."

"No, no it's okay." Riyo hadn't meant to dampen the mood. ********, this was why she didn't usually talk about it. "It's been like this since I was around 12. I wasn't trying to complain or anything.. It's really not that big of a deal." But it was. It was something she thought about almost every day. Something that haunted her. The thoughts that sprung from abandonment issues left her feeling cold and hurt on the inside. Luckily, she had learned how to keep up a nonchalant and rigid outward appearance.

Which meant she suffered alone.

"Uh, so..." That had been a bad choice of topic. Glancing out the window, she noticed a sign with a couple on it. "Got a ghoulfriend or something?" She asked as she looked back at him, face turning confused at her own question. Great. Bad choice of topic replaced with a worse one.

Furrowing his brow a bit, Jericho eyed Riyo. Though she said it wasn't a big deal, he wasn't so certain of that. It was hard for him to imagine something like to not be a big deal.

But then she decided to throw another question at him. Blinking at it, he first shook his head.

"Er... no. I mean. I have friends that happen to be girls though" he said before scratching his head, "Um.. you got a boyfriend?"

Holding back a grin at the idea that just popped into her head, Riyo tried to put on a serious face. "Yes. I'm engaged to a demon fifty years older than I am because of a business deal." Then the look turned grim. "he's been married 5 times before and all his wives disappear. I fear for my life."

Riyo stared intensely at the dragon a moment before bursting out into laughter. "Hah, no not really. I read that in a book. Better answer than 'no, I don't think I could handle a relationship', though."

Just in time. Looked like they'd reached their destination. A quaint little pizza place not far from where she actually lived. "Hey driver. You mind picking those up? I'll give you a little extra at the end of the night."

Money seemed to be the magic word, because the demon immediately parked the car and hopped on out.

Jericho raised an eyebrow at the answer Riyo dropped him as if trying to see if she was joking or not. When she burst out into laughter, he chuckled and shook his head a bit.

"I don't know. You seem like you can handle quite a bit," he shrugged before looking out the window as they arrived. It was an interesting little pizza parlor from what he could tell. Most likely that meant that it had some pretty good food within as well.

He was about to get out to go pick up the food, but that was taken care of by the limo driver.

"I get too nervous around people in general. I... I really don't think I could take being so close to someone so often." Riyo admitted. "I think the main reason I'm so uncomfortable with people touching me is the fact that... It's an alien feeling." Meaning nobody had really held her as a kid, but she wasn't going to elaborate.

Suddenly, the door opened. "Here you are, Ma'am." And there they were. Two delicious smelling pizzas ripe for the devouring. "Thanks." Riyo blurted out quickly and grabbed them, handing Jericho the larger one. "There are three things I've tried to master that continue to escape me. One is affection, two is cooking, and the last one is FEAR. At the very least I hope to remedy the third one at school. The other two are kinda pointless anyways."

Pausing as she opened her box, she looked back up at the dragon curiously. "Ever find something you weren't able to do no matter how hard you tried?"
