"They are," Lattice agreed as she took another nibble from the other she was working on. Some days it felt like she was ravenous and other days she just ate very little it was a mystery even to her. She was happy that Hel also had fun. At least it wasn't one sided!
She set the tartlet down and took a sip from her tea pausing only at the teasing question before she nodded a bit, "Yes I think splitting them would be best, I do not think I could eat these all by myself as much as I want to hoard them all." Lattice laughed lightly.

It was nice when Lattice laughed, the reaper decided, grinning as she finished her tartlet.
She then took a sip of the tea Lattice had prepared for her, and while it wasn’t as strong of a beverage that she usually like…it wasn’t bad either! She liked that raspberry flavor to it. The ghoul was content to chatter at the other ghoul more about plans and hopes for the upcoming school year, chowing down on a few more tartlets here and there as time passed. Eventually though, the reaper was full, tea’d out, and flopped backwards onto the floor, stretching out before springing up to her feet.
“This was most wonderful friend!” The reaper commented happily. “Unfortunately, I need to call it a day…and my kitchen still needs to be finished setting up.” Hel then divided up the tartlets, plopping her half back into her apron like a make shift knapsack.

Lattice finished at least two tartlets and one and a half cups of tea as she chatted with the other ghoul quite contently. It was rather nice to talk to this Reaper as she seemed to have a good heart and head upon her shoulders. The Engraver watched with some amusement as her friend flopped backwards and then stretched out even giggling slightly gazing upwards as Hel stood before she moved to stand as well.
"Yes, very wonderful, I hope we can do this again," Lattice uttered sincerely as she moved toward the door so she could allow Hel to leave. "It is sad to see you go but I am sure I will see you again."
"Thank you for spending time with me," Lattice uttered sincerely.

Hel followed Lattice to the door, thanking the ghoul when she opened it for her.
“Aww, no worries, friend!” The reaper assured. “You will see me soon, and we will certainly do this again!” Hel paused in the door way, looking back at the ghoul. “Bah, you don’t need to thank me!” She laughed, giving a small shake of her head. “It’s what friends do, yes? Have a good evening, Lattice!” With that, the reaper marched out the door then with her half of the war spoils, and back to the reaper dorms, where she stowed those little beauties away and got back to work arranging her kitchen.
She was inspired to do so after seeing how nice Lattice’s was!

Lattice smiled lightly at the reassurance and nodded there was a small pause when Hel said the the phrase 'it is what friends do' and an odd feeling of happiness bubbled up inside her and the Engraver's smile widened that much more. She had a friend! A new friend. It was a beautiful feeling of joy that welled up inside her. It was unexpected for her to feel so happy without her Sister nearby but here she was and Lattice felt as if she was grinning like a fool.
Before Hel disappeared she said, "Yes it is what friends do. Please take care on your way back, farewell."
The Engraver then closed the door and wandered to straighten things up and then rest for a bit. It had been a long but wonderful day.
