Narrowing his eyes some, Jericho reached down to try and gently hold Riley in place.

"Wait," he said quietly, "Your body needs to rest. If you don't give your muscles time to recover, it'll take even longer for you to get back up to speed. You'll just fatigue yourself more and more."

Perhaps he should stick around to keep an eye on her.

It wasn't much of a fight. Jericho's hands managed to make her legs give out, and she flopped back down onto the bed, sitting beside him. She turned her head and glared, but that was all the anger she had left to muster.

I know how muscles work, Jericho. I just feel like I have more to give, before I give up for today. She looked like she was itching to try again, but she was no match for him at the moment. She slumped into his side, and let out a sigh.

There is no time.

"Which is exactly why you need to rest right now."

As Riley slumped back down, he lightly placed his hand around her and gave her a gentle pat.

"Just relax for a little longer," he encouraged, "Then you can continue training. But for now... you could use the rest. I'll keep massaging you and get you some water if you'd like to help you prepare for your next bit."

Riley curled up into the arm, and closed her eyes.

Bullshit. She murmured, though the sound of her voice was a bubbling, foggy mess. As she continued on, it only sounded more distant. I don't need any rest. I
just need to get back up on that pole and get back to..

She was asleep before she could finish the sentence. Jericho could feel the vibrations in his mind, as she'd completely forgotten to turn it off before losing consciousness. Tiny dots of color began to dance in his vision as he witnessed the very beginning of her dreams.

As Riley drifted off in the middle of her sentence, Jericho chuckled softly as he could more or less feel her doze off. The odd bits of color dancing around his vision were interesting for sure, and he stuck around for awhile, just sort of nestled against his friend.

After all, he didn't want to move and accidentally awaken her and whatnot.

Letting out a breath, he went on and relaxed as well.

It had been a good, long time later before Riley was startled awake. Her hand slammed down beside her, accidentally banging against Jericho's stomach, before she realized where she was, and what she was doing.

What. Okay. Sorry. What was I saying? She blinked, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, and trying to sit up straight. From her words, it sounded like she had no idea she'd just fell asleep for at least an hour.

Jericho was pretty stationary during that hour Riley was asleep. When her hand suddenly slammed against his stomach, he let out a light grunt before looking over towards her. He raised an eyebrow and sat up as well, shifting his arms and wings to loosen up the joints some.

"Oh... you were wanting to get back onto the pole and stuff," he replied.

Yes. Right. The pole. She looked at it forlornly, and a moment of vibrating filled Jericho's mind again. This time, it was just a yawn. She stretched out her legs, which felt worlds better, though still aching with pain. Then she pushed herself off the bed, and stood.

I'm so tired. A very quiet, very hesitant admittance left her, despite her back being to the boil. I know I need to get stronger. I need to be fit when I speak with all of the leads Hellma indirectly gave me. I can't show any weakness. If they think I'm weak.. they won't tell me anything.

She rubbed her eyes, and yawned again. I haven't slept in two days. I don't even know if I have time to sleep, at this point. I feel like I should go speak with them right now. Every minute that passes is a minute wasted.. a minute in danger.

Watching Riley, Jericho's eyebrows furrowed. Despite that nap she still looked absolutely tired. Though, the mention of leads had piqued his curiosity some.

"Wait... what leads?" the dragon started, "If you need to talk to people, maybe I can help. I just need to know who and what information I need to find."

He placed a hand onto her shoulder.

"You're still recovering. You shouldn't have to tackle this on your own.."

Riley turned, lost her balance, and tumbled to one side. She pressed her hand against a desk to keep herself from falling, and stood there with annoyance plastered freely on her face.

Well, she told me to speak with the horsemen, for starters. I was already going to speak with our good friend from the island, before this, but now I think it might be a good idea to meet with all of them, in case they each have anything to reveal.

She sighed sharply, and took a few steps towards Jericho, managing only to fall against his side when she was safely on the bed. So I'm starting there. But all four of them, and then I have to find someone named Firth, plus running the rest of my campaigning, and just..

Her eyes fluttered shut, even as she listed all the things she had to do. All she wanted was a nap.

Getting up as he saw her tumble, Jericho stepped a little closer to her should she end up falling again. He couldn't help but frown at the mention of the horsemen, especially since it seemed that she planned on speaking to Conquest in particular.

"You sure about that?" he said warily, "Also.. Firth sounds familiar..."

He tried to think where he might have heard it, but right now he was drawing a blank on that.

"But you know... there's four horsemen. I could help you tackle a couple of those.. that should help lighten your load."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2011 11:14 pm

I'm sure. She admitted in a huff, blinking up at him in surprise. At first, she was just surprised that he remembered the name Firth. But the offer trumped that surprise with a look of gratitude.

Jericho. What you're offering.. it's not to be considered lightly. You know they're dangerous. And I don't really know if they'll even appreciate us asking questions. If you.. did help, and I would completely understand if you changed your mind. But if you did.. you must promise to be very careful.

"I've seen what Conquest is capable of... I'm sure the other three are just as powerful in their own right," Jericho frowned, "As dangerous as they are, I think that makes it even more of a reason for me to help you out here. There's only so much you can handle when you're tired and hurt like this."

"Anyway... I swear I'll be careful," he added with a light smile.

Jericho's assistance felt like a weight being lifted from her shoulders. She rolled her eyes closed, and sighed. You can't imagine how glad I am to hear it. I look forward to hearing what they have to tell you. Just make sure you get them talking about the island, and the safety of this school, or else-

The vibration yawned in his mind once more.

-They might go off on some tangent. Get you distracted. If I had to hazard a guess, I would bet the Horsemen have a lot of experience with giving the run-around. It's probably..
a good thing.. we're seeing them separately..

She was fading again.

One way or another, he got the feeling that Riley was somewhat relieved to hear that he was helping her out here. Smiling to her, he nodded while keeping in mind what she suggested to find out. Then, in midsentence once more, she dozed off.

Chuckling lightly, Jericho carefully shifted his friend into a more comfortable position, and pulling the covers over her.

For awhile he lingered, as he thought on how he should go about with this business. There were rumors that the horsemen had taken over one of the bathrooms in the school. He wasn't sure if it was true, but it was worth looking into.

He'd get onto that a little later.
