Never... Allowed outside?
Riyo looked back up at Mitsu with a semi-confused look, unsure of how she felt about it. The ghoul... Hadn't been allowed outside?
There were many things Riyo had been denied, but going two and fro wasn't.
And of course, Shun added his two cents. Riyo didn't really care about the baby birds. She had no pity for creatures that were helpless on their own...
Though, an odd feeling of guilt rose up inside of her. It wasn't like she needed to eat the bird for nourishment. There was school food for that (as gross as it was some days). She would simply be killing it and it's children out of spite.
Before she could finish the moral argument with herself, the creature managed to struggle out enough to peck her hand, causing the ghoul to recoil and the bird to take off. "********." She shouted angrily, noticing the creature had drawn blood that time.
That's what she got for being nice. "There. You lucked out. I didn't eat it." She mumbled to Mitsu and moved back to sit down. Almost immediately Felix jumped up in her lap to make himself at home. As if he hadn't been spoiled enough today.

Glancing at Mitsu as she answered, Shun furrowed his brow at the thought. He was fairly aware of how strict her care taker was, though so it didn't come across as too surprising to him. Letting out a breath, he shifted slightly in his spot, still feeling a little uncomfortable down below.
Seeing the bird fly off soon after, the Reaper shrugged before reaching for his bag. Before opening it though, he paused. On one hand he didn't really want to move and he didn't want to deal with Riyo so homework sounded good right about now. On the other... he didn't really have any homework at the moment that didn't require the aid of Mitsu.
This was one weakness of his that he did not care to let out, and it certainly wasn't one he really wanted the feline to see.

Mitsu couldn't say she wasn't relieved when the bird managed to wiggle free and fly off, though she did feel bad that Riyo had been bitten in the process. Not a word was uttered though to confirm how she felt, Mitsu merely ducked her head a little, scooting closer to Shun as he pulled his bag closer.
"What are you looking for?" Mitsu asked seeing Shun hesitate before opening his bag. She wasn't certain if he wanted to work on homework with Riyo here. The lycan knew he wasn't favorable to the idea of others knowing about his reading disability.

Sighing, Riyo quietly watched the two interact as her fingers scratched behind the hazcat's ears. She knew just the place that made his leg kick. Almost immediately the feline's back paw started moving, a loud purr rising from behind the mask.
She couldn't help but feel a little out of place. It always seemed like the two of them had some kind of zen going on, and anyone close to them ended up throwing it off. Riyo was used to being alone, but feeling like the odd man out was something she rarely experienced... Except with them.
"If I'm interrupting something, I can leave..." Even though she had been here first and technically THEY had been interrupting her. No skin off her hide if they didn't want her around. Nope... Not at all...

Pushing the bag back to where it was before, Shun shook his head.
"Nothing in particular," he murmured before glancing at Riyo as she spoke. No, she wasn't interrupting anything, technically. They hadn't actually started to do anything after all. Rather than responding to her, he just looked to Mitsu, leaving it to her to decide.
As long as the cat demon didn't... fall on him again or start spewing nonsense, he didn't really care. He could tune her out if needed.

Nothing in particular....okay. Looking to Riyo, Mitsu shook her head. "W-we just came outside to relax and maybe do some homework." Though Mitsu wasn't sure the homework part would happen. "It's not a big deal." Shun would no doubt be pleased. Homework pushed off for another day. At least the weather was nice.
"So...." Small talk....trying to work on small talk. "What have you been up to? Do you like school so far?" Mitsu felt rather proud of herself. That seemed like a pretty good line up of questions to give her some insight on how Riyo had been doing since last she saw her. And she hadn't even stuttered while asking.

Well, if she wasn't disturbing them...
"Plenty of things." Riyo was ALWAYS up to plenty of things. "Work. School. Books. Fitness. Music. Sleep." It was as if she was reading off a cue card, though that was generally how it went. Sometimes when she finished all the paperwork she had to do, the feline would sit out on a bench and watch people go about their lives... But that was about it.
"And no, I hate it." Her eyes narrowed as the words slipped out of her mouth. Slowly, her tail began to sway behind her. "The learning part is fine. I don't mind that. It's the fact that no matter where I go or what I do, there is always some boil waiting to bug the s**t out of me." Everywhere. Almost all the time.
"You think they'd have something better to do..."

For the most part, Shun was fine with putting off the homework. He wasn't actually being bothered right now so the just leaned back against the tree and relaxed for the time being. He wasn't paying the other two much attention until Riyo mentioned something about boys bugging the hell out of her.
The Reaper just sort oft shot a glance at her for the moment, but his attention didn't linger long.

"Y..you hate it?" Mitsu questioned tilting her head. Had she been enrolled here without her choosing? Then it became clear, sort of. "The boils have been bothering you? What about or..who?"

"About... Me." Most ghouls probably would've squealed and dreamily sighed at the attention she received from so many different boils, but not Riyo. Oh no, that would just be too easy.
"It's like-" She started, moving her hand away from Felix's ear (much to his displeasure). "They have these radars that sense when somebody doesn't want them to be around, and like a moth to some spiteful flame, they flock." The feline's clawed hands started to dramatically gesture to get her point across.
"But no. That's not enough. Then the questions start. 'What's your name?' 'What do you like?' 'Can I help you carry those books?' 'Why are you sitting on that bench?' 'Are you new here?' 'How are you today?' 'What's a ghoul like you doing in a place like this?' MY JACK THE QUESTIONS NEVER STOP!" She shouted dramatically, shaking her fists at the air.
"And somehow it still gets worse, because no matter how mean or nasty I get, they just. Become. More. Interested. I could tell them their mother was a fat, peg-legged bearded gnome and they'd still want to sit next to me! Sweet Sally I don't know what to do..."
Then, with wide eyes, the feline extended her arm off to the side.
"Boils. Boils everywhere."

Shun raised an eyebrow with what he heard. It sounded like Riyo was having some trouble with... flirting? Well, that was definitely one thing she wouldn't have to worry about to come from him. Scoffing a bit at the idea, he just took in a breath and brought up one knee to rest his arm across.
He found no need to toss out suggestions for her to fix this little issue as well. This was her problem. Not his.

"B..but Riyo..." Mitsu seemed confused. That was the same sort of small talk people did to get to know each other right? It didn't sound so much like bothering as the boils wanting to befriend her. "I..I think they were just trying to be friendly. T..there are a lot of nice people here."
There really were. Mitsu had only been really nervous around a few people and completely scared of one in particular. Otherwise the people she had met so far were really nice, some even bouncing with happy. "Are you sure they don't want to make friends?"

Riyo sighed and rubbed her head. Of course Mitsu didn't understand. It seemed like the ghoul would befriend anyone who talked to her without yelling.
"You still don't understand, do you?" Riyo asked, curling a small section of hair around her pointer finger. "I don't want friends. I don't want people to get to know me. I don't want to get to know other people..."
Though honestly, the feline was becoming less and less certain of what she wanted anymore. "I just... Want them to leave me alone." She mumbled, tail curling around her legs. The feline certainly didn't sound as confident as she had before.

Briefly, Shun's eyes drifted from Mitsu to Riyo. There was one statement he could understand. Friendship was not something he was interested in until relatively recently.
"Not all people seek companionship, Mitsu," he said to her, "I sure as hell didn't before coming to this school."

Don't understand? Maybe Mitsu didn't and once again she felt that sinking feeling when Riyo said she didn't want friends. Didn't people generally want to be around other people? Or...was that just her? Was she just so lost in the thought that being alone was just a horrible feeling.
"B..but I thought we could be..." But Shun quickly interrupted. A reminder that he hadn't wanted friends either. Why was she feeling like such a burden all of a sudden? But...Shun had changed a little hadn't he? He didn't mind having her around and considered her a friend. A good friend even. He had said so. Maybe Riyo would change too if approached the right way.
"D..despite what you say I hope we can be friends." Mitsu said softly before going quiet again. Maybe it was just dreaming, Mitsu knew she couldn't be friends with everyone though there was that silent hope. Inevitably she was going to find people that didn't like her and there might not even be a valid reason behind it. It wasn't like she hadn't run into that before.
