RPC:Thanatos Rank: S+ CommanderSquad: NoneCurrent Mission: NoneActual RPing:
Thanatos listened to Tabitha speak. Once she was done, he took another shot of whiskey. “I think I am starting to feel something.” He thought to himself.
“Ok I’ll make this simple. The building is located almost 5 miles southeast from here. The town of Sanctuary is roughly 5 miles north of here. So what I am gonna do, is go to a bandit out post located northeast of here and engage the enemy personnel with some harassment fire, to keep them thinking I don’t know about the armory. Sergey will assume that if I knew about it and its location; I would have hit it by now. Instead we will conduct raids this week on bandit outposts in the northwest and northeast to make them increase defenses to the north while becoming relaxed in the area surrounding the armory. I will get do some reconnaissance to get a better idea of the layout for the armory and I will formulate a plan to infiltrate it and take it out. This will be a dangerous mission. Sorry to toss you all into the mix like this so early on. I wanted more time to train you but I guess we will have to make do. ” Thanatos paused and turned to Tabitha. “That is fine your head must be killing you. That guy looked like he hit you pretty hard. I was surprised he didn’t split your poor skull open.”
Thanatos then turned his attention to Sunshine. This girl was cold like the icy peaks of a mountain. Thanatos could tell she wasn’t too fond of him. He could feel her burning anger resonating through her deadpan expression and cool exterior. He listened to her speak about how she had been employed to Sergey in the past. ‘Nothing he didn’t already know.’ Thanatos leaned back in his chair and began to stroke his goatee. “I wonder what’ll happen if I push her buttons a little bit more….” He thought to himself.
“Well here’s the thing...” Thanatos began “…That’s nothing I didn’t already know. I hired you because you have a good employment history not because of what side you’re on. I know that Victor himself wanted Sergey to hire you after I wiped out one of his squads. I am surprised they didn’t send you to kill me.” Thanatos paused for a second before continuing. “After all why worry about paying someone who is as good as dead.” He said with a chuckle.
“Now of course this revalation might not go over so well with the rest of the group but that’s up to them. I on the other hand don’t care if you worked for El Diablo; as long as you do what I ask. That’s all I care about. I need soldiers not saints.” Thanatos leaned back in his seat keeping one hand raised and stroking his goatee and the relaxed the other so it was hidden under the table. “I apologize, Kayla. It seems you came at a bad time. So are you still interested in my offer?” Thanatos said slight chuckle.

Thanatos handed Kayla a piece of paper with all the details involving benefits. It included several things from room and board, a stall for Black Jack in the town barn, and gun repair. All of it pleased Kayla. “Not only will I get all this stuff, but by the looks of this crowd, I’m going to be in a lot of fights. “ Kayla smirked. But before she could give her confirmation the smaller woman with the sniper rifle spoke up about information she had on Sergey on the outskirts of Sanctuary. Following her intel the mercenary looking woman mentioned that she used to work for Sergey.
“What an interesting group of people.” Kayla thought to herself.
Thanatos revealed the plan for what Kayla guessed to be the next assignment. Then said something about already knowing the mercenary’s history. Thanatos then turned to Kayla and asked if she was still interested.
Assertively Kayla said “ I’m in.” and sat in the chair Thanatos offered.
Thanatos seemed pleased to have an addition to his team.

Tabitha CardellRank: Private Squad: Sunshine - Private, Six - Private Active Mission: N/A Tabitha CardellWhile Tabitha pondered how much alcohol Thanatos had put and would yet put into his body, the giant quickly explained his plan for taking out the armory. Overall, it was a pretty round-a-bout plan, but considering the circumstances, it was probably the best strategy for this situation. Keep Sergey on his toes until a better sense of the armory's layout could be obtained, then decide how to best destroy the armory itself. It would be dangerous, but with the team gathered around this table... it should be doable. Even if she didn't know what the new girl's strengths were, Tabitha also knew that it was likely that Thanatos had chosen Kayla for a reason. I guess this next mission will give her a chance to show us what she can do.Tabitha scowled though when Thanatos said it was alright if she left because of the knock to the head she'd taken not too long ago. "I'm just tired is all," she explained, sounding irritated. Call it survival instincts, but Tabitha really didn't want to appear weak in front of these other 'warriors,' as Thanatos' note had said. Despite the condition in which Thanatos had found her, Tabitha was a capable fighter when it came to the weapons she owned, the weapons she had been trained with, and she had another trick or two up her sleeves in case of emergency. Not that anyone had challenged her right to be sitting at this table, but she didn't want to give any of these others an excuse to doubt her ability to handle things. Besides, she didn't really have anywhere else to go. Home was no longer home, and nowhere else was particularly safe either. New Jericho seemed to be doing better than most places, and if she was going to start living here, she might as well be doing work. Paid work, at that, and it was a job that would give her the chance to get revenge. She would prove that she could survive with the rest of the group. This train of thought had barely come to a conclusion when Sunshine decided to share one piece of her past. A single piece of information. That was all it took to shatter Tabitha's current state of mind. She worked for Sergey?!? The strawberry-blonde's head whipped around in Sunshine's direction as the mercenary finished speaking. Confusion and bewilderment played across her features for a moment, but as Thanatos gave his reaction to Sunshine's statement, all of Tabitha's other emotions were consumed by rage and betrayal. How could anyone work for that... that monster?!? She knew that mercenaries would take jobs wherever they could... but did they really have so few scruples as to take a job from him?! Or was Sunshine just special? And Thanatos knew! He knew the whole time that she'd worked for Sergey, and if he knows that, then he has to know why I take serious issue with this! Tabitha sent one final, desperate look in Thanatos' direction, hoping this was all an elaborate joke, but the b*****d just sat there, calm as could be, and had already moved on to asking Kayla if she still wanted in on this job. That's it. Tabitha didn't even hear Kayla's affirmative answer as she stood up abruptly, her chair scraping harshly across the floor. Her hands clenched at her sides and her head bowed so that her unruly bangs covered her eyes, Tabitha could only stand there for a moment or two, livid with fury. She didn't care if she was causing a scene. Finally, the sniper turned a murderous glance in Sunshine's direction. "It's people like you," Tabitha began, her voice shaking, "people who don't give a ******** about anyone else, that make life a living hell for the people who do care. It's monsters like you that are the reason my fath-..." She couldn't finish her statement and fell silent. Her gloved hands were no longer clenched, and they hovered around her belt as if she couldn't decide what to reach for: Kraken or combat knife? At this point, Tabitha would've even settled for stabbing Sunshine through the heart with the assassin's blade in her right wrist. Oh, she was just aching to do something. Luckily for her, and everyone else likely, Tabitha remembered the presence of a certain giant in the room. A giant who would likely blow her head off before she could even get at Sunshine. Son of a b***h. Essentially growling, Tabitha shoved her chair further out of the way and stormed out of the bar, shoving her way past anyone or anything in her path. Once outside, she went straight for the hitching post and untied Dawn, ready to just up and leave when she remembered another sobering fact. I don't have anywhere else to go. Hadn't she already come to that conclusion not five minutes earlier? If she left, she'd be at the mercy of bandits again. If she stayed, she would need to find a job... which she technically already had, as undesirable as the job-situation had just become. She didn't really have any other options. "GODDAMN."Dawn just made a disconcerted sound, her ears half-back as her master just stood there with the reins in her hand for another minute or two. "Come on, Dawn. Let's get you settled in for the night." A hint of rage remained in the woman's voice, but mostly, she just sounded defeated and tired. I'll just groom Dawn for a bit... then get my key from Al, get cleaned up, then go to bed... Tabitha thought wearily as she lead her palomino mare back to the stables. That is, if Thanatos hasn't already canceled my contract, she added ruefully. XP: Gold:

SixRank: Private Squad:N/A Active Mission:N/A ProfileOnce Thanatos handed the newcomer, who called herself Kayla, the list of perks he'd handed the others earlier, as well grabbing her a seat, Tabitha gave her thoughts on the armory situation before saying that she would be heading to bed after the planning was done. Before Six could comment on them though, Sunshine said something that made him raise an eyebrow at her. "She worked for Sergey? Well my oppinion of her just dropped a notch." He'd still trust her while on a job, she was apparently loyal to her money at least, but he wasn't going to be enjoying working with someone like that. As Thanatos explained his plan Six nodded. It seemed sound, redirect their manpower and then strike them at their heart. The small attacks they did would also hurt the bandits, though not as much as ultimately destroying the armory. As Thanatos continued on to say that he had known that Sunshine had worked for Sergey, he repressed the scowl that came at the thought. Though he wasn't sure he fully kept it from his eyes. "So he doesn't really care if you murder, rape, and beat women and children. Just come over and work for him and all will be forgiven as long as you stop doing it from now on. The other girl I can understand, she'll be grateful and might give up some info later that we need. But he doesn't care what we've done before working for him huh?" Hopefully Sunshine was the exception and not the rule to the people he had gathered, but somehow Six doubted it. Once he asked Kayla if she still wanted to join up with them she simply responded with an "I'm in." Just then Tabitha abruptly stood up and told Sunshine off, biting off the end of her sentence. "Father? Well that would explain the angry outburst. I wonder what happened exactly?" As he watched her he saw her hands moving toward her belt and shifted positions slightly. If she went for a weapon he'd have to subdue her, he didn't know if she could take Sunshine but he was sure she wouldn't be able to stop Thanatos if he decided to break it up or took offence to her trying to kill a teammate. Besides, he didn't want her to get shot. With the exception of the newcomer, she was the only person who hadn't put him on edge yet. After a few moments Tabitha threw back her chair and stormed out. A few seconds later there was a yelled "GODDAMN." that could be heard from outside. Sighing, Six picked up his, now empty, dishes and brought them over to Al before saying. "Welcome to the team Kayla. I'll be back shortly, but I want to bring Diablo to the stables before he gets impatient." Walking outside he pet the neck of the pure black stallion while he untied him from the post. "Which way did they go?" He asked the intelligent horse who answered by moving his head toward the stables. "Good, then she's not leaving. Well come on, let's get you settled in before you get bored and cause trouble." This last bit was said with the hint of a smile as Diablo bumped his shoulder with his nose. The two of them had not known each other long, but Six and Diablo, well Six at least, felt a kinship to the other. They were both products of the experiments that had gone on in the lab and they'd both managed to escape with each other's help. During their initial journey to New Jericho Six had gotten a feel for Diablo's personality, he was stubborn and impatient. He certainly earned his name, and Six would have it no other way. They were both proof that the lab couldn't break everyone. Heading to the stables, Six hoped Tabitha wouldn't be too angry to allow even his presence. Xp: Gold:

SunshineRank: Private Squad: Six | Tabitha Active Mission: SunshineWhen Tabitha stood up suddenly, Sunshine couldn’t help but raise a brow. She sat there unflinching as the girl told her off, and the grey eyed girl’s eyes didn’t fail to notice the other girl’s fingers twitching by her weapons. Just as sudden as the outburst, Tabitha left, screaming profanities outside before going out of hearing range. Six followed after her, and soon it was just Sunshine, Thanatos, and the new girl whose name she failed to remember. Turning back to Thanatos, Sunshine spoke in monotone despite the psychotic grin on her face, “Well that was exciting, I was sure that she was going to stab me.” Taking a sip from her rum, Sunshine’s grin fell from her face as she continued in the same tone, “But I wonder why she thinks I should care. I’m a mercenary, not a saint. This aint no fairy tale, and I aint no good guy. I just do what I have to, to survive. An’ if she dun’ like it, she can take a long walk off a short pier.”Staring up at Thanatos, Sunshine questioned with an accusing tone, her glass in her hand and covering her mouth that was held in a frown, “Why does it seem like nothing I say to you phases you, nor surprises you?” Deciding to test her luck and asking a third time, she continued, “Tell me giant, how do you know so much about us…” She glared over her glass, “Me in particular.”Taking another sip from her rum, she frowned when she noticed that her cup was now empty, ‘Aw, where has all the rum gone?’XP: Gold:

Thanatos sat in his chair listening to Tabitha yell and cuss out Sunshine before storming off. Six followed closely behind her. “I wonder what he’s up to? Probably gonna go make nice and console her. Good. Hopefully she calms down.” Thanatos thought to himself.
Thanatos shifted and silently slid his revolver back into its holster. He could tell by the looks on the group’s faces that they never even knew he had drew it… or had just holstered it. He turned his attention to the two remaining women at the table. He looked at Sunshine’s empty glass and noticed her slight frown.
“I’ll make a deal with you Sunshine. I’ll order another round of drinks on me, since our new member hasn’t had anything. Pick your poison and it’s on me. In exchange for this I ask you try to relax and have a good time tonight. Tension might be in the air but forget about that. People have a right to feel how they feel. We should be celebrating. We just gathered intel, formulated a plan, and got some revenge. It’s not even midnight yet and I don’t feel like drinking alone tonight.” Thanatos stopped and slid his bottle to the side, out of the way. He leaned forward, his eyes fixed on Sunshine. Thanatos raised his red shades to reveal his eyes. He hoped this would show her how serious he was. He stared down at the little girl and whilst maintaining eye contact began: “You want to know what I know about you? I want you to trust me so it is only fair I be honest with you. I know of you. I know your methods. I know your skills. I know most of your previous employers and I have been in the shadows watching your last couple missions. I wanted to make sure that your reputation did you justice. And that…Sunshine….is the truth. So you feel like staying and having a couple drinks?” Thanatos turned his eyes to Kayla. “This includes you too. Now come on, have something to drink.”
Thanatos lowered his shades, leaned back in his chair and lifted his right arm on the table. He reached up slowly and started to stroke his short goatee as he waited for Sunshines response.

As the smaller woman stood up to shout at the mercenary woman, her hand twitched near her holster. Kayla didn’t have to know her well to know she might have actually drawn it. By taking in the looks of the others, they thought so too. Instead the small woman stormed out of the motel shouting obscenities. The quiet guy welcomed Kayla to the group, and then took his leave to care for Diablo, who Kayla presumed was his cyber-horse.
The mercenary woman shrugged the occurrence off. She sipped her drink, and defended her past work as a mercenary. Kayla understood this. Work was hard to come by. Even though bounty hunting generally gave a steady stream of work, Kayla didn’t accept all jobs that came across her. She turned down jobs if she didn’t agree with the reasons behind the bounty, and only killed them if she thought they deserved it. Kayla recognized that not everyone could or wanted to turn down jobs, especially if they paid well. The mercenary woman asked Thanatos how he was not fazed by what she said, and how he knew about each of them.
Thanatos grinned and replied to the mercenary woman, Sunshine he called her. “Finally, I can stop calling her mercenary woman. Sunshine, kind of an ironic name from the looks of it.” Kayla got the sense that they had just finished their first mission earlier from what Thanatos said next. Then he suggested she and Sunshine grab a drink, and relax.
“I certainly wouldn’t mind a drink myself, nothing too heavy though. I’ve travelled far today. I shouldn’t stay up for too long though, my cyber-horse Black Jack needs some caring for.” shared Kayla. She then stood from the table, walked to the bar and ordered something random from the menu, with a beer. While she waited for her meal she inquired to Al, “I need a place to hold up my cyber-horse for the night. There was a building near the entrance that looked big enough to be a barn. Is it?” Al simply nodded. After a few minutes Al handed her a plate of food looking similar to what the guy who welcomed her had ordered, as well as her beer. She took it back to her seat, and listened to the conversation going on around her.

SunshineRank: Private Squad: Six | Tabitha Active Mission: SunshineSunshine’s glare disappeared when she heard Thanatos’s explanation, and she lowered her empty glass from her face. Although she didn’t show it, she was surprised when he lowered his sunglasses and it was that gesture that had won her over. Seeing his eyes somehow solidified his argument and while she still didn’t trust him—not that she trusted any of her previous employers either—she no longer felt as though his mere presence angered her. Sunshine then remembered Thanatos’s promise of another round of liquor and decided that she was going to need to eat something first to absorb some of the alcohol that was already in her system. Getting up and walking over to Al, Sunshine left the giant over at the table by himself momentarily. She realized half-way to the bar that he may take it as a sign of her leaving for the night, but didn’t care to correct the possible thought processes. He would figure it out when he noticed that she would be waiting at the bar for her food. When she reached the bar, she heard the girl that had just been hired by Thanatos and heard her inquiring about the barn. ‘I’ll show her the way after I get my grub and get buzzed some more.’ Sunshine thought to herself as she received the food she had ordered. Walking back to the table, she plopped back down in her seat and tucked into her food in a dainty sort of way. Sunshine then looked up at Thanatos and—after swallowing her food—spoke in deadpan, “Another round of rum will do my soul good.” She paused and then continued in the same tone but with a smirk, “But I suppose I have no soul, according to Tabitha at least.”Turning to the new girl, Sunshine addressed what she had asked Al at the bar, “I’ll lead you over to barn in a while if you want to take…. Black Jack over there. I just want to get some rum in me before the night’s through.”XP: Gold:

Thanatos watched as Sunshine and Kayla made their way to the bar, ordered their food, and returned. Thanatos noticed Sunshine offering to assist Kayla with the stable's location. “Good.” Thanatos thought to himself. Once the girls got back to the table and made some idle chitchat, Thanatos rose from his seat and made his way to the bar- bottle in hand.
“Here Al keep this safe for the night.” Thanatos said as he handed Al the half empty bottle of whiskey.
“Sure no problem. Would you like your tea now?” Al asked
“You know me too well Al.” Thanatos said with a chuckle
“You’re a creature of habit. Here you go, fresh brewed black tea with nothing in it.” Al said as he walked over to the stove and poured it into a solid red tea cup.
Thanatos nodded a silent thank you and returned to the table. He grabbed the cup with two fingers through the handle and raised it to his face. He took a second to breath in the vapors rising from the tea cup. The smell was relaxing and with the breath he took in he could feel all the stress of the day exiting his body. He breathed out slowly and took a sip. He waited a couple seconds and took another. Then he gently placed the cup down on the table. “So you’ll be going to bed soon I imagine?” Thanatos said as he stared down at the two girls.

Tabitha CardellRank: Private Squad: None Active Mission: Contact Thanatos Tabitha CardellAs Tabitha made her way back into the motel and bar, she ignored the looks given by those who recognized her as the woman who'd stormed out before. Going straight for the bar, she asked Al for her room key. While the barkeep took care of that, Tabitha glanced over at Thanatos' table. The giant still sat there, although it looked like he had traded in his whisky for something else. Tea, maybe? I guess even the giant has his limits. Kayla and Sunshine were still there too, food in front of them, but Tabitha didn't spare more than the briefest glance in their direction. What she really wanted was to catch Thanatos' eye, just to make sure he knew that she was still around. As Al handed her the key to her room though, she realized that it probably didn't matter if he gave her a direct sign of acknowledgement. He seemed to one of those people that was just perpetually aware. Drunk or not, he'd know she was back. With that in mind, Tabitha took the key with a small thank you before moving off to find the corresponding room. This place is... really nice... Now that she was in the more hotel-ish part of the building, Tabitha had to hand it to Al. Not too shabby. Not that there was likely much business out here, but Al had obviously taken great pains to clean the place up and make it look presentable. It could probably even be considered homey, if anyone cared to stay there long enough. Stopping outside one of the doors, Tabitha glanced at the number on the key to make sure they matched. Room 112. This was it. The lock clicked once to allow her entrance, then a second time as the door shut behind her. The sound was somewhat reassuring, but at the same time, she knew it wouldn't hold out against... say... Thanatos, who apparently had the ability to get into any place at any time. She also wouldn't have put it past the others to be able to bypass simple locks like this easily, but she didn't want to think too much on it right now. It was just a formality. A matter of privacy. The room itself was cozy enough, with a bed and bathroom, as Thanatos had promised. Other than that, there was a lamp or two, a small desk, and a chair. It was over this last item that she draped her dark brown jacket before stretching. The jacket, which had been her father's, held all that was dear to her within its many pockets, and though not uncomfortably heavy, she still felt considerably lighter upon shedding it. Then again, it's not just carrying physical weight, she thought to herself as she poked about the room. It often seemed like the ghost of her father hung about that coat. Taking advantage of the shower, situation, Tabitha took the time to clean off the dust, dirt, and blood from recent days. Unfortunately, she only really had the one set of clothes to change back into afterward. Maybe this town has some sort of general store? It would be worth investigating sometime in the near future. Plopping down on the bed in her T-shirt and gray pants, there really wasn't much else for Tabitha to do besides sleep. Or at least, she could try. As much as her muscles ached and as exhausted as her body felt, the generally relaxing feel of the room had set her mind free to wander, and of course it went straight for those thoughts she'd been avoiding all day. For better or worse, she was too tired to fight that fact, and so she watched again and again in her mind's eye as her only friend was gunned down by bandits. She went over the scenario over and over again, trying to find where it all went wrong and what she could have done differently. Maybe if she'd suggested a different plan? Maybe if she'd at least objected more strongly to a plan that suggested sending only four people on a raid? The more she thought about it, the surer she was that Orion's death was on her hands. There were a million things she could have done to prevent it. A million things she hadn't done, and now she was alone. Tomorrow. Tomorrow she could be strong. Tonight was for grieving, so when she finally did drift off, it was with tears on her cheeks and guilt in her heart for the blame she felt she shared in Orion's death. XP: Gold:

The conversation around the table came to an abrupt stop once Kayla and Sunshine procured food. The two of them sat in silence for a few minutes before Thanatos got up from the table to order another drink from Al. Kayla appreciated Sunshine offering to show her the way to the barn after a few more drinks. She had a decent sense of direction, but in a new town at night, she was sure she would have wondered around a while trying to find the right place. Black Jack needed a good brush down. In her haste to get to New Jericho she did not brush him down as best as she could have.
Thanatos asked if Kayla and Sunshine were heading to bed soon. Just then she saw the other woman who stormed out of the motel came back, received something from Al, then headed in the direction of stairs, where Kayla guessed were the rooms. She turned her attention back to Thanatos’s question. “I still need to take care of Black Jack outside. He doesn’t appreciate being kept waiting. Sunshine, if your done with your drink, would you mind showing me the way now?” Kayla finished up the last bite of food while waiting for a response from Sunshine.

SunshineRank: Private Squad: Six | Tabitha Active Mission: SunshineLooking over at the girl… Kayla Sunshine guessed her name was she couldn’t help but chuckle humorlessly and shake her head. The girl had a lot of nerve telling someone she had just met to hurry up with a kindness. Looking at the girl with a blank face, Sunshine stated, “You’re a ballsy one aren’t you? Tellin’ me what to do when I’m doing you a favor.” She paused for a length of time and then smirked, “I like that.” Nodding to Thanatos and gulping down the rest of her rum, Sunshine walked past Kayla and towards the door, assuming that the girl would follow. Upon reaching the outdoors, she relished in the fact that it no longer smelled like beer, vomit, and piss. Striding over to Walker, he gave her an annoyed look as she neared. Untying the reins from the post, she mounted the horse and waited for Kayla to do the same. Squeezing Walker’s sides, Sunshine urged him forward without appearing to have done anything. With Walker’s pace steady and smooth, Sunshine rode him to the barn. She didn’t care if the girl was behind her; if she couldn’t keep up now, she’d be deadweight to her on a mission. Upon reaching the barn, Sunshine rode into the building. Guiding Walker to his stall, she dismounted and closed the door behind them after grabbing a tack box first. The box had normal grooming tools such as curries and brushes, but also had a rag and some polish. After taking the saddle off of walker and removing the bridle, Sunshine hung them up in the appropriate places. Taking out the hard curry, Sunshine loosened all the dead fur and dirt from Walker’s coat. Then using a hard bristle brush, she removed all the loose fur and dust, before finishing up with the soft bristle brush that removed the rest. A hoof pick then removed all of the mud and grime stuck in Walker’s feet. Then taking the rag and some polish, Sunshine meticulously shined all of Walker’s armor. She made sure to get into all of the delicate carvings in his metal, and took extra time to polish his facial plates. Feeling at peace, Sunshine exited the stall and walked back to the bar. Kayla smirked at Sunshine’s response to her request. She could tell she would work well with Sunshine. Kayla watched her gulp down the last of her Rum, and followed her out. Sunshine went over to a cyber-horse, untethered it, then hopped on its’ back. Kayla walked over to Black Jack and mimicked Sunshine’s actions. “Let’s go old boy, its about time I give you a good brush down. Just follow Sunshine right there.“ Black Jack gave a shake of his mane and a snort in agreement.
Sunshine didn’t bother to see if Kayla was following before she started her horse in the direction of the large building she suspected to be the barn. A familiar smell of hay and horse wafted her nostrils as she approached the entrance. Kayla dismounted Black Jack to lead him into a stall across the pathway from Sunshine.
She started removing the saddle and bridle, then briefly left the stall in search of a tack box. She found a few boxes lined up on a shelf, took a quick look inside to make sure all the different combs and necessities were within the one closest to her, and took it back to Black Jacks stall. Kayla began with a hard curry brush, working out the dirt and grim she managed to miss while on the road. She always found a certain relaxing quality in brushing down Black Jack, her mind could wander while her hands were busy with a mundane task.
“What do you think of this place boy?” He shook his head back and forth, his way of saying it will do. “ I might like it here. Having a steady paycheck for a while won’t be too bad.” Noticing she worked the hard dirt out of Black Jack’s coat, she placed the hard curry comb back in the tack box, and reached for the softer curry brush. “I’m not going to draw any conclusions yet though. I don’t know a thing about these people, except that apparently Sunshine previously worked for some shady people, and the other woman was hurt in some way by one of Sunshine’s previous employers.” She gave Black Jack a pat on his shoulder as she finished with the second curry brush. She took a minute to put the brush away and grab the last one necessary for his coat. “I just have to keep up a guard to protect myself. We may be on a team of some kind, but I certainly don’t trust any of them with my life. I will have to look after myself as usual. Although I doubt anything devious will happen, Thanatos doe not seem like the type to put up with that.” Kayla placed the last brush back in the tack box, and grabbed a rag with polish to work on the mechanical parts. After a few minutes Black Jack’s mechanical bits had a nice sheen to them. Kayla put the tack box back where she found it and walked back to the stall. She took Black Jack‘s head and pressed her own against his. “Good night. Sleep well. It looks like we will be out and about soon enough.” She gave his nose one last pat on her way out the stall, and back to the motel.
When she walked through the door of the motel to see most of the other customers had either gone to their perspective homes or rooms in the motel. She walked over to bar to talk to Al about a room. Right as she got to the counter Al handed her a key, and nodded towards the stairs the other woman had gone up before Kayla went to the barn. She thanked Al, and walked towards the stairs. At the top of the stairs followed the numbered rooms until one matched the key she had been handed, room 115. She opened the door and gave the room a quick glance over. It contained a basic set up of a bed, bathroom, and small dresser by the bed with a lamp. Kayla didn’t even bother with turning on the lamp, she knew she would be out in a matter of minutes. She placed her few belongings in one of the dresser drawers, grabbed a change of clothes, and headed for the bathroom.
Kayla took a few minutes to wash all the dirt and grime from her with a quick shower. She dried off, put her new clothes on, and hopped right into bed. She had moved around so much during her life, sleeping in a new place didn’t phase her. She swiftly fell asleep, with her side arm safely tucked under pillow.

Six Rank: Private Squad: Active Mission: Profile Upon entering the bar, Six noticed that the only two at the table were Sunshine and Thanatos. Kayla and Tabitha were nowhere to be seen. "Probably already turned in for the night, I think I'll do the same. Its been a long day." Walking over to Thanatos and Sunshine he said "I think I'll turn in for the night, I'll see you both in the morning before we head out." Nodding to them both, he headed up the stairs to the rooms. Walking along the hall, he eventually found his room number, room 113, and went inside, locking it behind him. The room itself was bare but for the essentials, a desk,a bed, a nightstand with a lamp, and a chair. There was also a connecting bathroom, which he used to wash the grime and blood from his body. Once that was done, he donned his sole set of clothes once more, minus his boots and weapons, and fell onto the bed. His RX-Titan was placed on the nightstand within easy reach, just in case it was needed, and as he closed his eyes one thought came to his mind. Even after all of the craziness of the day, after the fighting and killing, after doubting the character of at least two of his allies, he was free. That would be his last happy thought for several hours. ____ fought the large men holding his arms, but it was no use. He wasn't as strong as these sub-human experiments made by the doctors. They forced him towards the table, kicking and screaming. "You lied!" he yelled, "This isn't what I asked for! You said you'd give me a weapon!" As the two experiments forced him onto the table, holding his arms so that the doctors could strap them in place, a voice sounded over a speaker. "I AM giving you a weapon _____. Something far better than any gun or blade. I'm going to make you into your own weapon. Trust me when I say that it will be completely useful for your purposes, not that you'll get to see those through."
A third experiment had come from the side of the room and was holding his chest down while the other two experiments held down his legs so that the doctors could strap them in as well. The last two straps were one that went over his chest and one that went over his forehead, keeping his head in place. "You son of a b***h!" he said, struggling to free himself. Out of the corner of his eye he could see a doctor with a syringe coming toward him. "STOP!" rang the voice over the speaker, which ______ now knew to be coming from the shadow in the observation deck to the left of the room. "I want him to feel every moment of this procedure. He'll be more useful to me if he can stand the pain without breaking. If he seems like he's going to pass out, give him some adrenaline."
The doctors seemed weary of this but they put the syringe away and moved to his left side. The strap on that arm was lower on the forearm than on the other side, and it allowed the doctors to get to what they needed. "What the hell are you doing?!?!" Calmly, the doctors took out a metallic left hand, the measurements for it had already been taken, and put it on a nearby tray. "Let me go!" One of the doctors took out a bone saw and, while an experiment helped hold his arm steady, began to saw at his wrist. "AHHHHH!!!!!!"
______ could do nothing but scream and thrash as best he could as the doctor's saw bit into his flesh and bone. Blood flowed freely from his wrist and fell to the floor, pooling before going down a drain installed for that very purpose. After what seemed like hours, the sawing finally stopped. _____ saw as the doctors dropped the torn slab of meat that was his hand onto the tray with the metallic one. Next, the doctors reached for a scalpel, cutting his forearm open halfway to his elbow. "I'm going to bleed to death!" he thought. In his pain he hadn't noticed the device that had been attached to his right arm like an IV which was now pumping blood into him as fast as his wounds bled it out.
As the doctors opened his forearm, one of them grabbed a spiderweb of wires and began attaching it to the inside. By the time they were done there were wires crisscrossing the majority of the inside of his left forearm, all the way to his wrist. Now one of the doctors brought over a small metal cap that they attached to the wires at the wrist. Once it was attached they sutured his left forearm closed and set the metal cap so it fit over his stump of a wrist. They then bolted it into his arm, causing new screams to be ripped from his mouth. But that pain and those screams were just the appetizer. Once the metal cap was secured they fiddled with something attached to the end of the cap that _____ couldn't see from his angle, and his entire forearm felt like it caught on fire from the inside. Once the wires were synched with his nerve endings, the cause of the pain, they began attaching the actual metal hand. Once it was in place on the cap they once more fiddled with something that was exposed by a small panel they had opened where the hand and cap met and his entire forearm was set aflame. By this time he had been crying for some time and his screams were barely audible due to his hoarse voice.
But the procedure was complete, he hadn't passed out, though he was pretty sure that was due to the adrenaline one of the doctors had shot into his arm earlier. "Excellent. Bring experiment 666 to his cell. We'll give him a day or two to recover before testing him against the others. I'm very proud of you _____. You surpassed my expectations." said the voice over the loudspeaker. ____barely heard a word that was said.Xp: Gold:

SunshineRank: Private Squad: Six | Tabitha Active Mission: SunshineWhen Sunshine returned to the bar, she sauntered over to where she had left Thanatos. Her feet dragged against the ground lazily, for the alcohol in her made her more lax about her gait. Feeling full and well watered—even if the thirst was quenched with rum—for the first time in a long while, Sunshine couldn’t help but feel as though this gig would be rather favorable for her. Changing her course, Sunshine made her way over to the bar and ordered a water as well as a room from Al. The man didn’t talk to her, only smiled as he handed Sunshine her requests and resumed wiping down the bar’s countertop. Drifting over to Thanatos, the black haired girl sat down across from the man and placed the key to room 114 down onto the table. Looking at Thanatos’s tea, she was right to assume that the time for drinking was done for this night. Raising her glass of water, she gestured towards him and stated—despite her buzzed state—in monotone, “To business.”After drinking a substantial amount of her water, Sunshine set her glass down. Thanatos was quiet for the moment, and it allowed her to think. Her mind in her less-than-usual control instantly went back to her childhood and the horrors of it. A man stood out amongst the myriad of nightmares; one that made Sunshine’s skin crawl in rage, and –despite her loathing of the emotion—fear. His skin had been papery white, and his brown hair always greasy. It seemed that he was always ready to appear in her nightmarish thoughts, and Sunshine sighed as she kneaded her temples. Completely missing Six’s approach and leaving because of her recollection of her past. Sunshine did not have the chance to respond to him. Frowning as she came back to the real world and looking around, her grey eyes were more focused than they had been. Glancing to Thanatos, she felt no emotion as she looked at him. It was for the best as well. It wouldn’t do her any good to not get along with what seemed to be her long term employer or—as she had seen Thanatos was very capable of achieving—being killed.
