Does anyone have any suggestions to help with that? I guess because I'm behind the scenes instead of coming in from the outside I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what to write and where to put it so everyone sees it on their way in...

Calm down, some players still have to write their first post in the roleplay. Soon you will have a full story going on, but you must give it some days.

And for the new character I introduced, it does not mean I already picked a wife. Duke of Swabia's daughter still can have an opportunity, I'm just making up a second option in the case Hermit has another idea of what he will do with her. I did not wanted to mess up with his roleplaying by limiting his options to marrying a duke's daugher to a mere count.
And if you look at what I wrote, those two are a bad pairing anyways, so Ralph better meets another girl soon, he needs someone that can manipulate him into actually making decisions instead of just thinking. rofl

Now I'm just waiting for the next time the Archbishop gets to speak so he can mutter something about barbarians, both the Duke of Swabia's wife and the new visitor. (At least the latter's Christian. Non-Frankish and heathen?!? mrgreen )
Minor note: England isn't unified at the moment. I don't think that changes anything, but I thought it was worth mentioning in case you didn't know. smile

I did not wanted to be accurate about the place she came from, but if you feel it is mecessary, change my post directly, you have my permission smile
I will search for some political maps so I correct my post when I have time, if you did not do it before that.

I hope no one objects, but I am revising the Saxony people a bit, mostly adding more time that he had the title of "Duke of Saxony" and adding that they have two children, a 9 year old girl and a 13 year old boy.

I noticed that you forgot to add the actual age after the year each character was born. I would be pretty useful if you cound put ir there, so lazy people like me can just look at it instead of having to do mathematics every time. And since some people can not know the roleplay starts in 911, details like that are really important.

And to Victarus: I think you should make clear the life expectancy in that medieval times, as I see most players picked rather old characters. Commoners used rarely live more than 40 years, and they married in their twenties, while (I could not find a number yet) nobles surely lived longer, but they married at a pretty young age, and I mean it. Some girls were married at the young age of ten, and a 16 years old teen (both sexes) were considered an adult.

Did I get it right?

Alright I added Actual ages after the year born. I didn't do it because it would chage with each year the roleplay changed(Which is basically once every three week)

Well the date will change as the RP goes on, so... mrgreen

As for the age, the answer is yes... and no. Life expectancy is certainly lower, even for the nobility: The battlefield is a strong contributor to this for males, but 50 easily constitutes "old age" even without that factored in. Living past 65 isn't unheard of but is definitely far from commonplace.

At the same time, marriages for nobility are generally more about security and political advantage than anything else; marrying at an extremely young age is less about "Quick, make babies before you die!" and more about forming an alliance through marriage before someone else does. It isn't at all uncommon to see male rulers marrying in their late 20's or, should their husband die, females remarrying in their 30's.

Oh... crap, I keep forgetting I'm even in a guild. Please forgive me I haven't RP'd in a guild in years, let me finish my court and I'll set up a post.

Don't worry, I have the same thing myself sometimes. Since it doesn't send alerts out the same way as with most threads, it's easy to miss things if you don't check in regularly. (A bit of a pain, honestly...)

First post up. tried to keep it short... it's been a while since i haven't tried to force out at least a thousand words.....

Do not worry, this is the first time in ages I roleplay in a forum. The last times were private roleplays with just one friend, in a chat. with short answers.
I'm getting used to this too. I solved the problem of forgetting to check by leaving the guild's forum always open in it's own tab. If there is a new message, I will see it.

Hell-o everyone. Sorry I haven't talked in here much.

Also please forgive Guntram, he is cruel, but not in plain sight. He is more vengeful for what he does. Having more of a behind the curtain control others to do is dirty work kinda thing.
