When she realized he wasn't going to leave, Aalun turned and looks over at Arthur. She sighed and her ears drooped, he really did look pathetic, and it tugged at her heart a bit. "Arthur..." she said slowly. "I over reacted...I'm sorry...I..can't...I can't expect you to feel the same way that I do. I just...thought that after so much time that..." she shook her head. "I shouldn't expect you to change. It's what I love about you. That you're just you, carefree, heroic, and just...yourself." she smiled slightly then sighed. "I kept waiting for you to grow up but it's really me that should have done some growing. Should have let you go..." she said softly.

Arthur blinked. A slight panic growing inside of him. Leave? No, she couldn't. Not after all this. He'd never let himself live it down. "No!" he said suddenly. "I don't want you to go, Aalun. I've...been a fool...well I'm always a fool, but more so than usual." he amended. "I...okay maybe I don't love you...yet, but," he exhaled loudly. "I should have maybe given us a try before just disappearing like that. I just...I didn't want my parents deciding my whole life for me. But all I seemed to do was hurt you...and I'm sorry for that."
He stamped a hoof and took a deep breath. "Please don't go. I...want to be with you." he said. "As a friend...and maybe more when the time comes. If you'll let me." he said still aware that she could take him if she wanted too.

Aalun stared. All her life she'd wanted to hear something like that from Arthur. It wasn't exactly ideal, but it was something. "Yes." she said quietly before she even realized she'd said it. "I've waited all this time...for...that..." she shook her head. "I can't stay angry with you...I never could. I can wait for you, Arthur. I've done it so far." she said with a wry laugh.
"Now let's go...together for once. I'm hungry." she said picking her way down the hill. Knowing with absolute certainty for once, the brown stallion behind her was actually going to follow her.
