Lucian hesitated for a moment, before deciding to be completely honest. "Karloff and his mate Ailbhe raised me after he was given my basket. I craved blood and meat from small. Karloff taught me, he drinks only. Ailbhe and Loff have treated me like I was their own. They love me, despite myself. When I was in my basket, I heard voices--they argued all the times. Said terrible things. But around Karloff, around you...they're gone. They can't touch me."

Anaon looked at the pale stallion, he was completely honest with, which seemed like it was hard for him to do, to open himself up to someone who was not his family, “They sound like wonderful parents who love you very much,” the admittance to hearing voices worried Anaon, for she could not help but wonder what they would say to him when she left. She nuzzled him, silently letting him know that everything will be okay and that she was here for him.
“How is it that my presence keeps them at bay?” She was extremely curious and elated at the same time that she was able to give Lucian a few hours of peace away from the voices.

"I don't know...but somehow your voice makes them go away. Just like Karloff's." He nuzzled her again. "I want to know about you too, to understand how you came to be so like me. Do you hear them too?" His voice was just barely above a whisper when he asked.

It made her feel special, that her voice was able to keep the voices away, when she was a foul she was usually told her voice irritated others, perhaps it was because she talked way too much, “I don’t hear voices inside my head, besides my own. The blood loving aspect of my being came from my father, who I don’t know much about except that he was the embodiment of fear and had a craving for flesh. He left my mother when I was still in a basket, taking one of my siblings with him. We haven’t seen any of them since, and my mother went searching for him in the beginning, but now I believe she has found someone else to be happy with.” Anaon knew that most of what she just said was basic information about her family; she just was not sure what else to say, “That probably explains why we are similar in so many ways. What do you like to do? Like what are your hobbies?” She wanted to get to know him more than just what was shown by revealing his family, heck she wanted to know everything from his favorite color to favorite place to be.

Lucian listened intently. She was so very similiar to him. It made him first self-conscious then overwhelmingly happy that she did not hear voices. He was thankful, she did not have to feel that. He paused for a moment to consider, "I like the color brown and black. They're--" he paused for a moment. "They're peaceful. Karloff has taught me how to fish, I love it. I like to talk, and I like to walk in the woods at night. Karloff taught me how to hunt then. And you?" He asked. He wanted to know everything.

She was black and brown, it was a silly thought, but her coloration matched his favorite colors, could it be any more perfect? Anaon cocked her head to the side as she thought about his hobbies, “How do you fish? Oh the woods at night are quite lovely, that is one of my favorite times as well to take a walk.” The brown mare had to think for a second, “My favorite color is green, like the feathers in my mane. My sister and I had to teach ourselves to hunt, since our mother is not a meat eater, somehow we became quite skilled. I love bones, I collect them, seems kind of creepy I know, but there is something about them that is so enthralling, I can’t help but pick them up when I come across a strange one.”

"Bones?" Lucian couldn't help but smile. "That sounds intriguing. Karloff taught me how to stand very still and then spear them with my teeth or a sharp stick. He has his claws too, which help him. But I've not taken up his garb." He smiled when she mentioned green, "It's a lovely color." He had just realized she was his favourite colours, how weird was that? "What else do you collect?"

Anaon brightened, “Yes! Though the only interesting ones, the ones that are not as common.” She tried to imagine herself standing very still in river, the silver fish filtering between her legs as she tried to catch them with a spear, it did not seem to end well in her mind, “Will you show me one day how you fish, I would like to see you do it.” She needed to think over his next question, what else did she collect? “There is not much else I collect besides bones, since we did not have one place to call home, I did not acquire many items. Plus, I was busy causing trouble,” she gave a small laugh, remembering her mischievous youth.

Lucian smiled, "I will teach you anytime you want." He frowned think about having to move around all your life, only ever being able to carry a few things. "We've never moved. Sometimes we go away for awhile, but we always come right back home. I can't imagine what it felt like to travel like that." He laughed lightly, "What did you do?"

Fishing was a skill she had never thought she would learn and Lucian would be the one to teach her; butterflies filled her stomach as she imaged the scene, replacing the one she had moments before with one that included the stallion showing her the ways of catching fish. A large smile crept on her face, “Really? I can’t wait! It is hard to believe that I am actually going to learn how to fish!”
He had never moved; Anaon tried to image her life without the constant moving and her mother happily content with her father, for he was the cause of the move, but Anaon could not image it. For she knew that she would be completely different than who she is today, “That must have been nice, where did you travel to? Actually, now that I think about it, if we did not travel, I would not be the mare standing before you today or would have I ever met you Lucian.”
A mischievous smile crossed her countenance, “Let’s just say that it involved some squirrels, rabbits, and my sister.”

Lucian smiled gently, "Just around. Sometimes we visit some of my father's friends or some family, but we always return to our home. It's like our..." he searches for the word for a moment. "Like our base, somewhere we always come back to."
"Yes, fishing. As soon as you want. Right now if you want to," he nuzzled her gently blushing. "Well, I'm glad you traveled then, because I like this you."

A base, the word flashed in the mare a sense of excitement, it reminded her of the word fort, which she never seemed to be able to make when she was a foal, she would get impatient and decide her time was better spent pulling a prank. “Are you far from your base now?”
Her eyes brightened, making them seem to glow, “Really?! That would be wonderful Lucian!” Anaon gave a soft blush and nuzzled the stallion in return, she really did not know what to say to the stallion’s words for all of a sudden she felt shy, he liked who she was, not just that she smelt good or was the same like him, a meat eater.
Anaon smiled at the stallion, “It’s just because you missed my mischievous stage, I used to drive my sister up a tree.”

"It's a half a day away. I usually don't travel this far. But I'm glad I did, or else I'd not have found you." He brushes his muzzle along her neck, heat rising in his face.
"Sure, there's water not far away. We can walk there now." He took a few steps alongside of her to keep pace. "I'd have like that you too. I never had anyone to prank on really...I was...quite serious." He laughed gently. It was still so unfamiliar to him, to laugh or to socialize. But Anaon was different. She was some bright fire that warmed him and no matter how close he'd gotten to her in this short time--the fire didn't burn.

Anaon smiled at the pale stallion, “I am glad that you traveled this far as well. I am truly happy to have met you this day.”
The mare was tempted to jump up and down in excitement, “Really? Thank you so much Lucian for teaching me how to fish! It is so exciting.” Anaon looked at the stallion, her face becoming flushed, but it was hard to see against her dark coloring. “You are so sweet, well serious is also good, you probably did not anger as many people as I did,” she gives a small laugh, if only those she had tricked could see her now, they probably would not believe their eyes.

"I'm sure they'd be enamoured with you like I am." Oops, he hadn't quite meant to say that. He blushed looking away. That was...well, not something he should have slipped out. What if it scared her? Or she didn't like him? Or...Or...Or
He looked up and over at her shyly to see her reaction.
