Is this bitter root truly that bad? Taiat wondered if he had made a miscalculation in accepting the challenge. His rage and annoyance were disappearing into the wind. Upon Demon’s return he looked at the ugly little brown root and then to Demon. “Fine, but I want yours right after.” He picked up the root and bit down.
Taiat nearly retched once the juice filled his mouth. It was nasty and vile, yet he mainted his facial composure and even grinned a bit at Demon. Swallowing quickly he pointed to another small root. ”That can wait if you want until after your injuries have been taken care of”
(woot! got Taiat!)

Demon grumbled at Taiat shooting him a glare before eying his root. He remembered all the times he got in trouble and had to eat it. He really didn't want to but a dare was a dare and so he had to since he accepted. He didn't see how in the hell Taiat pulled it off but it burned him.
He stared at the root for a while before he popped it into his mouth and began to chew. The juice running down his throat and some out of his mouth. It brought back all the memories from his child hood specifically when he got caught by his dad after his first meeting with Harvest. Unable to fight it he gagged but managed to swallow the evil root. He hung his head. He knew he failed dam his luck. He dug his nails into the ground.

Taiat had a bit of a confession to make. “I do enjoy slightly bitter things so I suppose I had a bit of an advantage. Here let’s see those herbs and that paw of yours.” Taiat made no comment about how Demon’s face looked ridiculous. Instead he focused on the job at hand. Demon knew good herbs to pick. “These look marvelous.”

Taiat grinned mischievously. “Oh you could have, but you didn’t. I’m sure that the next time we have a dare to eat something make sure you have something sweet.” He looked down at Demon’s paws and frowned. “It’s great that you learned so much from her. Unia seems a very capable fox.”

Demon growled at him and cursed his name many times. Damn cocky fox. He wanted to smack that grin of his face but he resisted the urge. "She is and if you were wise you would stay away from her,"

“I really have little desire to travel from my own home Demon. The only reason I came out this far was to try and find you Demon. I doubt I’ll see Unia unless Harvest takes me.” Taiat looked at Demon wondering what was wrong with going and seeing Unia. “Why would you care? I’m no fighter. She could trounce me.”

"I know you have no desire for going out that far but Harvest does. Unia is very special. You have no clue and it can't be really explained. She had it tough when she was young. She isn't a fighter either so she really isn't your worry," He said thinking that this fox was oblivious, "My father would be what you have to worry about. He is a fighter and vicious. Not so much anymore because of her but he would have no problem ripping out someones throat. Since she did have a troubled past he is protective of her. Plus she is his lifemate. He doesn't like other males giving her to much attention. He wont do anything but grumble unless he thinks you will do something. Which sometimes happens alot. Guess you could say he is paranoid."

“I don’t understand most foxes.” Taiat blinked in though as he worked on Demon’s paw. “Your father would have nothing to worry about with me. I don’t have any other interests in foxes other than Harvest. I am certain it’s easy enough to explain. The only reason I would see Unia would be due to Harvest and the only thing I can think about to ask or talk to her about would be herbs now that I know she is skilled with them.” Taiat grimaced as he accidentally pushed on his own hurt paws while treating Demon’s. “You should be ok soon enough, but you should stay off your paws as much as possible.”

Demon pulled away not letting him finish and got up "Take care of yourself. I was warning you because he isn't always rational. And thanks for reminding me,"He grumbled darkly and moved away "Fix your self and go back."With that he left.

“Thank you for the warning Demon. I will endeavor to keep it in mind should I ever visit.” Taiat didn’t say that he could see quite well that Demon was just like his own father. Demon was an infuriatingly stubborn fox that was far from rational. Even Taiat was more irrational with Demon around. He doubted the two could ever truly be friends. Still Taiat wasn’t sure if he should be so harsh with Demon. He did bring enough herbs for me to treat my own paws as well. Also he warned me of his father. Perhaps this hope is what my mate sees in him? If so I shall have to be more courteous to him. That is what foxes who respect each other due. Taiat treated his paws in silence as the rain outside stopped. All traces of where he could have followed Demon were washed away. It was time for Taiat to go home.
