"Hmmmm," was the mare's only reply. Her eyes were unfocused as though she was lost in thought. It had taken her years to cultivate the grove. Half coming back to the present Voreti twitched her ears back and frowned. What was she doing with a little foal like this? She was more than half tempted to run the little filly off right then.
Shaking her head, the mare gave a sigh of determination. The first stupid azrein they came across she'd foist the foal onto them. Voreti stepped into the grove and headed around the back of her home. There a small stream provided the water she needed.

Tashi wondered if she had said something to upset the mare but she kept quiet. She followed her around the edge of Voreti's home to find a small stream. It seemed like this place had it all and it all seemed like a dream that she would actually get to stay here for awhile. Of course, Tashi knew she wouldn't be able to stay here forever. All females have to be on their own at some point, but for now, she was looking forward to staying with Voreti.
