"Oh yes? What year are you?" She asked curiously, surprised to not recognize the other girl. Though then again it was a fairly large school.. and with Penelope being younger their classes were probably different. "I actually just graduated and will be going to DCU this fall. But I loved Crystal."
She sucked in air softly as the peroxide stung her arm, her fingers tightening as she attempted to stay still and let the alcohol do it's work.
"Some ointment and a bandage will probably do the job. That'll be easier for me to change tommorow without help."

Penelope actually had to stop and do the math of what year she would be going into; it had literally been that long since she thought of her position at Crystal Academy. "This'll be my second year at Crystal, so... I guess you left just as I was getting started. What are you going to be studying at university?"
"I'm sorry." The apology was instinctive at the sight of Aurora's pain, even though Penelope was aware that it was a necessary pain. If she hadn't been familiar with disinfectents, ointments, and bandages prior to being a Senshi, the teenager was all too familiar with them now. She unscrewed the top and squeezed a bit of the clear ointment onto the wounds before reaching for the bandage. This she wrapped slowly and carefully, trying to make sure she didn't squeeze too hard and inadvertantly cause more pain.

"I'd like to be a grade school teacher" She answer, trying to keep her mind off the little sting. It was funny how much more... fragile she felt when she wasn't powered up. How she could withstand being clamped down on.. and now she was being a baby about a bit of peroxide? It only proved how powerful she was when in uniform she guessed. Plus of course the quicker healing. "So I imagine I'll look into a lot of different classes that might help me. Education, psycology, math, music, english, etc etc. But that's my plan so.. for that most part I'll be focusing on that. I already have a couple credits actually from doing some teachers aid work at Knightside."
She shook her head reassuringly as the other girl apologized, it of course wasn't her fault. When Penelope was done Aurora flexed her hand mildly, before nodding to the strength of the bandage around her arm. "Let's see about your hand now"
Glancing at the wound gently, trying to dechiper if it was better to put it under the facuet or dab it, she offered after a moment. "This certainly isn't something you should take lightly.. or decide on right away. But if someday you decide you'd like to join a team I'm beginning to pull one together."
"I imagine the focus will mostly be on protecting those in need.. Civilians and other powered allies in danger. Instilling skills and drive and information into the newer recruits. Basically helping out in anyway we can."
"I was pretty sure I'd like you from when we first met, but tonight has only proven my guess." It was a soft compliment.
She wasn't asking for an answer or response, and she didn't look at the other girl for a response, instead dabbing at her wound tenderly. "Anyway, would you like a guaze and wrap bandage like mine? Or would you prefer something a bit more subtle like a few bandaids side by side?"

Penelope nodded as she continued to finish up Aurora's bandages, her voice soft as she concentrated on her task, "Yeah, a grade school teacher would have to know all kinds of things... but if you already have some teaching credits under your belt, that's awesome. Just one step closer to your goal, right? It sounds like you're really dedicated."
The next turn in the coversation was not one that the teenager expected, and her marroon eyes widened slightly as she struggled to make her mouth catch up with her brain. "Um... a few bandaids would probably be better; it'd look more like I did it just by myself, that way." As was often the case, Penelope distracted herself with the more easily answered question than the former, more complicated one. She stared down at her injured hand and thought about what Aurora had offered.
A team. A definite purpose, not just the one she had kind of decided upon for herself. A leader. A set group of comrades... maybe even of friends. It was the answer to so many things that the dark-haired girl had wanted since becoming a Senshi. But at the same time... more and more, Penelope was beginning to feel as though she was part of an extended team. Couldn't she help out Aurora and the Jovians? Would she be reduced to only helping a certain group of Senshi? She didn't quite like the sound of that... but maybe she was projecting too much into what her fellow Senshi offered. So, she cleared her throat slightly and answered, "I... I want to help the other Senshi, to proect people so that they don't get hurt. Those have always been my goals, even though no one really told me that's what I was supposed to be doing. So... you can call me, anytime, and I'll come to help. But I... think of all Senshi as one big, extended team so... I don't know if I can be an official member?"
And then, quietly, even more shyly, she added, "And I... like you too. You seem very focused and kind... towards all the Senshi. So... I'm not saying no, but I think it's only fair for you to know how I feel."

"I feel much more content when I'm being productive" She admitted mildly. "Sitting around and/or waiting have never really been my forte"
She dug a few bandaids out of the box unwrapping two to start with, though a few more sat out waiting in case they were needed. The first was pressed delicately over the wound, and she was working on putting the second one right next to it as she listened to the other girl's response.
There was distinct disappointment, but Polaris did not push it any further. It was something she could mope about later. Something she could think over and try to figure out if her tactics were flawed when she was alone and trying to fall asleep. She wasn't so desperate yet that she'd brow beat someone into something, especially when their response had been polite and logical enough. But her reaction was nonetheless far somberer than it would have been if the answer had been different. The other girl might have even had her personal space invaded with a happy hug if things had been different. Aurora was able to muster up a soft and polite smile though. "I understand. I'll definately give you a call if I ever end up in a pickle though."
Looking back down at Penelope's hand again she pondered a moment, before leaving the decision up to the other girl. "One more bandaid just to make sure nothing gets in, or is that good for now?"

Penelope could feel the shift of mood in the air, and she bit her lip in frustration. She hadn't meant to hurt Aurora's feelings, but... she couldn't change how she felt either. "I'm... I'm sorry, Aurora. But... but you will actually call me if you need me, won't you? I might not be on your smaller team, but we're both still Senshi together so... so we're fighting together, in the long run."
She flexed her hand to make sure that the bandages would stay, and it had the added benefit of keeping her from looking into her new friend's eyes. "I think... I think this'll work just fine. So... if we could just get me a bus I can make my way home..."

"No no, I will" She insisted, letting her hand rest for a brief moment on the other girl's shoulder, offering a reassuring smile this time. Whether the other girl took it that way or not Aurora was certainly sincere. "Like we've both said, we're all on the same side and we all need to work together. It'd be silly to refuse to work with anyone just because they weren't your best buddy."
Aurora didn't bother putting all of her stuff away yet, she could do that once Penelope was on her way home, but she did make a visible effort to kind of scoot it all into the same organized pile before she nodded to the suggestion.
The nearest bus stop was pretty close to her apartment, not more then a block away. And when they reached it she glanced softly at the map posted inside, before tapping at it lightly. "This bus runs east I believe" Her finger ran along the blue line that showed the set of streets the particular bus took. "If your house is the other way though we'll have to go find the bus stop that goes in the other direction."

The feel of Aurora's hand on her shoulder and the smile that she offered helped the tense teenager to relax some, and she gave a small smile of her own in agreement with the other girl's words. "Yes... and we can still remain friends and allies, all the same." Then, with no further ado, they set off for the bus stop.
Penelope rubbed her arms against the night air, nodding whenever Aurora indicated the direction of the bus route. "No, this sounds like it'll work just fine... my house is in that direction anyway." She hesitated, but then stretched out her unbandaged hand towards the other girl who happened to be an Eternal Senshi... and her new friend. "Thank you... for everything, Aurora. I really appreciate all that you've done."

"Definately"
Eyes lingering on the map, she was silently trying to think of the last time she actually rode a bus... and was deciding maybe she would do it one day.. she turned back to Penelope finally when she spoke.
Taking the extended hand, she shook it lightly, grinning a little at the words. It made it seem like she'd done so much, and as much as she loved the ego stroking, really all she'd done was her job.
"It was wonderful to meet you. Keep up the good work."
"And don't hesitate to call or drop by if you're ever in the area"
The squeal of the bus' brakes broke through the night air as it turned the corner of the street, pulling slowly towards them. Lucky Penelope. Aurora lingered around until the girl was in the bus and the bus had left before heading home.
