Leon looked on with a approving grin as Cass decided to go for it, effort was always such a nice thing to see for the boxer. "Exactly, give it a try!" he grinned back as she did a few reps on her shaky arms.

He stopped grinning as he saw the girl straining to complete the second and third rep, before hearing the thump after the fifth one that made his cringe, all before helping her up "Oh! Crap, maybe there is harm in trying!" he blurted out and unfurled the tissue in his pocket and placing it in her free hand. "Keep your head up and hold your nose, there might be a nosebleed." he had to feel worried over Cass, he didn't expect to see her get injured outside of training exercises, not to mention the colorful vocabulary that the girl had under that unassuming face.

"If it any consolation, it was a good first try." he said with a optimistic tone, sincerely hoping Cass wouldn't be called up next while she was like this.

Life Hunters. It was an interesting term, especially after Marcus mentioned Harry Potter.

Oh, jeez, now that's all I'm going to think of.

Assist and assimilate. What exactly did that mean? Gale drummed his fingers absently against his leg, chewing on his lower lip as he watched the ones called return back to their seats. His name hadn't been called, which meant that he wasn't one of them. And his name hadn't been called with the second group either, which meant whatever type of Hunter they were...he, well...wasn't. There was no telling what or how many types there would be, so he was stuck wondering.

...and trying to figure out what the dude doing push-ups against the table was attempting. Gale's eyes flickered first from him, to the girl who tried it - and, er managed to whack her face into the table in the meantime - then to Jude, who had been one of the ones called up with Marcus. He didn't know the pale haired guy very well, but he had seemed nice enough.

Gale rubbed the back of his neck, fingers brushing against the golden strands of his hair.

I wonder how what kind of Hunters these guys are...

Cass frowned. "I am holdin' my node..." she replied, thought it wasn't the exact 'holding' of the nose Leon had meant. None the less, she forced herself to stand up, pinching the bridge of her nose with one hand and taking the tissue to wipe the new blood on her face off of her nose and upper lip. Ironically, her following response was probably the least expected;

She laughed at her own failure. If she'd been called up next, she would have laughed all the way to the front of the group and displayed it proudly.

Ah ha ha ha ha!

"It wasn't a horrible first try. I think I need lots of practice though." She grinned, obviously not as hurt as that initial crack on the table had implied by her improving pronunciation, holding her head back to try and keep the blood as far from her nose as possible; as though that helped. The pinching didn't hurt as much as it could have. That was helpful!

"I think I could work on that landing a bit too." she jested, all in good humor.

"Children." Caelius did not seem very impressed. "Whenever you are done being absolute idiots, I will continue." For a second, as he stopped, waiting, the walls themselves seemed to shake - was the room getting smaller or everything else getting larger?

Things were quiet again. "Thank you." The Hunter instructor's eyes flickered towards the perpetrators, first at Leon and then at Cassandra. "I will be more than happy to hold the more dull few of you back from your education. Permanently." The trainees knew from personal experience now that Caelius was not threatening them, he simply did not really care about them at all beyond their lackluster performances, as if the trainees were bought, not created. They could always buy new trainees.

"Now, you five standing in front of me shall respond to your rank now as Moon Hunters. Your missions will involve defensive tactics and a great deal of patience, something which might be quite a learning curve for a good deal of you." A pause as he handed out schedules. "In the battlefield, Hunter classification is simply what roles you will fulfill. They are not to separate you by division but strengthen you together as a whole, with your own unique assets. A team does not function alone, nor are they made up of only one kind of person. Our current Moon Hunter instructor is on a mission herself, you will be taking your additional missions with me."

"Now, sit back down, with some restraint this time. Cassandra Norris, Scarlett Grace Voliva, Candace Pennington, Emmaline Grant, Tikaani Frost, please present yourself forward for your schedules."

Cassandra's amusement quickly dimmed when Caelius turned his attention towards herself and Leon, her posture stiffening right up. Oshi- She was in trouble!! She was in double trouble when it seemed that there wasn't much buffer for her fate.

Her name had been called.

And she still had a bloody nose. Cass frowned a bit, releasing her nose tentatively, before taking a deep breath. Okay, she had busted herself up a bit instead of sitting still. She could deal with that shame. Hopefully nobody would be judging her forever as 'that girl who made out with that guy and then went and bloodied up her nose at eval'. Damn. She was getting a rep.

Cassandra was actually a little proud.

Hold her back? Nothing was holding her back. So with the tissue shoved up her nose, Cass strode forward towards the front of the group without a care in the world.

Even if she looked hilarious.

Jude tried not to feel unnerved as he noted the room seemed to get smaller but perhaps that was a part of his imagination. He waited quietly while the Instructor seemed to try and wrestle in some form of order. It was like being back in highschool. There were cutups amongst the crowd though he was pretty sure the punishment for going against authority would be unpleasant or so it seemed from the tone of voice Caelius had.

He listened as his hand moved forward to accept the schedule and then he wandered to sit back down - amongst the crowd he recognized a few faces for sure. Walking past Cassandra he tilted his head, "Nice tissue," he murmured quietly and continued to his seat.

The youth couldn't help but comment on it. It was a light jibe at her expense and who knows she might have done the same to him if the tables were turned.

It was true. Cass would have.

Leon was at least glad to see that Cass was taking the injury quite well, laughing at it even. He hoped the blow didn't rattle anything around in her head to badly.

"Practice is good, as long as you know your limits." he replied back, "Yeah that dismount needed some work lass." trying to forget the solid sounding whack of face on wood from not too long ago.

Which was provided from the cool gaze from Sensei Cale and the threat he left in the air. Thinking better than interrupting the grand spectacle, Leon dropped back into his creaking chair that didn't leave much space for his tree trunk legs, and propped one up on the table to ease the discomfort.

"I guess my workout will have to wait then, good luck up there girlie." he said reluctantly to Cass as she moved off to be on display with her brand new bloody markings.

Jeremy, who had been sitting there surprisingly quietly, watched as comrade after comrade was called up. At first he didn't think anything of it, but as more and more names were called, he started getting nervous. How many types of Hunters were there? What kind would he be? Would they even let him be a Hunter? Looking back, aside from some pretty damn lucky hits he wasn't much use on that battle field, as fake as it turned out to be.

"Whoooa, that had to have hurt." He said out loud, 'forgetting' to keep it an inner voice. Gold eyes watched the girl with the tissues wander to the front of the room...and then found himself distracted by the...girl...guy...? With the long pale hair. More specifically her (his?) comment. There was something snide he could have said back, it was on the tip of his tongue, but in the end he let it go, instead settling for just...staring. He him'd and haw'd, brushing the tassle of his hoody against his own lips before trapping it between his teeth.

"You need to smile more." He commented idly, speaking around the hoody tassle. "Unless your face will break, in which case don't." Having a face was important he supposed, considering how much Before screamed and flailed without his sight. Jeremy regarded the long-haired recruit with curiousity, stretching his legs out under the desk and leaning back to shove his hands into his coat pockets.

Jude was a little amused that the girl going up didn't have a retort for him but that was alright, he supposed it would be forthcoming if they ever have a chance to talk.

The young man settled down in his seat his gaze flicked toward the one that told him to smile more. Germy? Jerry? Jug? Whatever his name was it certainly didn't concern him at the moment as he watched the other male who seemed to be chewing on his own clothes, "I smile just the right amount. Are you part moth or something?" he retorted quietly.

"Yeeeeeah I don't believe you." He expressed in an unconvinced exhale. He was trying to be quieter, if only for the evaluations that were going on in the (to him) background. "Moth? Why mo---Oh." Oh, the chewing on the strings. Err, well, yeah. Clearing his throat, he 'spat' out the string from between his teeth, letting it flop on it's own against his hoody. "If I tell you, I'd have to kill you." Shrugging, he looked around, and then back at the poor, unfortunate s/he close enough to him to be throughly annoyed.

"What was your name, again?" He'd forgotten it, though he was pretty sure he'd never heard it before either.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 19, 2011 1:50 pm

His lips twitched into a small smirk as the other male spat out the hoodie strings and he simply stared ahead at what was happening with the other student. Jude didn't really care what the other male thought of him. If they had to work together? Fine, but that didn't mean he had to care about what the other thought of him personally.

Jude paused when his name was asked for. He through his options quietly and he decided the other was giving him enough hell as it was, "Theven or Thev. You?"

Until the annoying youth insisted that would do.

Candace had been staring Cael down nervously, resisting the urge to start biting her nails. Though she tensed when someone suggested maybe a scythe like Caelius' was in the box. No way. No way. Could they!? Did they get one too?! Her eyes widened and set intently on the box, her attention caught once more and her nerves forgotten for now. A scythe. She could have a scythe like his. She wanted it. She wanted it so badly it hurt! Though the commotion of Cassandra suddenly smashing her face definitely shoved her from her reverie like a hippo in a kiddy pool. She jumped and turned to see what had happened, wincing when she saw the blood. "Ouch. You okay there, doll? Anything broken?" God, she hoped not. Noses were a b***h to heal from breaks. Ugh. Though Caelius' threat toward Leon and Cassandra had her frowning, looking up at him with worry. Permanently. That meant...either death or being put back into that pod to sleep forever, huh? They couldn't go back to the lives they once had.

...Strangely...Candace was okay with this.

She snorted with short laughter at the comment about a learning curve, putting a hand over her mouth and looking around innocently. Heh. He called them idiots~. But finally her name was called. Her name, and the names of four other ladies. Huh...was this some kind of women's only sector? She was tempted to ask if they were being put into Gryffindor considering Marcus had compared this to Harry Potter.

He had a point. Cael was like the sorting hat.

...Heh.

Candace tried not to look too excited as she got up out of her chair and walked around the table to stand beside Cael, her hands behind her back and her attention solely on him. Yes, she was concerned for Cass and her nose, yes everyone in this room was amusing in some way, but she was standing next to Caelius. Caelius, the wielder of the scythe. God, she wanted that scythe. But she also wanted to know what kind of hunter she was, going through her earlier performances in her head. What had she done? She'd been decent with the gun, poor with the bat, she'd somewhat taken charge when they were cowering pitifully in the shed..now what? What did that make her? She had to know!

Bix gulped as the first group approached but.... nothing. The box was not utilized in the slightest. Once he realized they were being 'sorted' as someone put it, he relaxed a bit.

He listened carefully as the groups were called and selected. He'd sunk down, his face hidden slightly in his arms, peering over the tops of them.

BTW. Cassandra? He'd hung out with her a bit and he'd thought she was a little weird. He amended that. That girl was NUTS.

But good looking, so she wasn't quite off of his list yet.

Tika's body had stiffened. She'd managed to sit tight and not make much of a ruckus but when her name was called she stiffened. Not because she was anti social or because she had some phobia of attention being called to her but because she was still programmed with a bit of a grade school mentality. When ones name was called it usually either meant pay attention or trouble.

This time it just meant to come to the front of the room. The teen shoved her hands in her pocket and got up not sparing most anyone a glance around the room except for Cassandra. Tikas brow lifted at the bloody nose. Had she missed something while she was lost in her thoughts?

The only reason that Tikaani was even filing to the front of the room was because she was mimicking what the other people who had their names called were doing. Seemed logical. Tika stood their in front of Caelius and eyed his scythe. A yawn interrupted the thoughts she was having about it though.
