Hmm... Did that mean that E'th's previous master had been houseless? That was super good! Adinas felt a sense of expectation growing in his chest. His mother was far more important then any houseless drow. So if she said he could keep E'th then there was nothing anyone else could do about it. Adinas found it strangely like a torment to stand and watch the questioning going on right now. He wanted his mother to say yes, so he could drag E'th off to his room and start showing off. He wanted to show him his spells and explain what he did. He wanted to...to... what? Oh! He knew! Play!! They could chase each other in the dungeon and try to catch each other. He could play find the heretic! And he'd have someone to talk to! Oh oh! And he could share some of the secrets he had found in the House! Not the big ones of course, but some of the small ones. The ones that his Mother would not be angry having a slave know.

Adinas watched his mother playing with her pendant as impatience warred with his common sense. He could not reach out and grab her hand right now. They were in public after all, it would mean she'd have to do something to recover from such a weak image. Oh mother! Just say yes!!

Perhaps it was better the Matron didn't know his speech had taken an almost constant stutter.

"Um, the house I was born into was destroyed, I was sold as a slave to a man without a house, and, uh, I ran away from him. Um....th-then I was found and, uh, brought here..." he said a little awkwardly. He realized there were a few problems there....he didn't know how he should address Adinas in front of the Matron, and whether or not he should say Adinas was the one that was running around outside bringing home strays. Well...the boy had said as much before so the Matron surely knew, but it did still make him feel a touch awkward. But at least he kept his story short and honest...that would be what the Matron would want to hear, right?

E'th's eyes slipped lower again before snapping back in place, mentally berating himself. He really wished he hadn't needed to be approved by her. The blood loss and exhaustion were wearing on him more than he was willing to show. E'th had to carefully hold himself to keep from swaying again, but he knew as soon as they were away from her eyes his body would most likely be ready to give up on him.

Well, so far so true, according to her pendant. No vibration, and the color remained constant. So the boy had come from a destroyed house, and was slave to a male, which would probably explain the scar on his face. Males who had no house tended to seek some way to Lord over something in the world, and she knew of many who were rough with their apprentices and servants. Or perhaps he had gotten the scar from a wrong in his previous house, which would indicate a rebellious nature; something more that she had to watch closely and make sure that nothing threatening festered and grew there. She partially wished the boy would go into more detail with his explanation, but she also realized that the boy was probably still scared and would not want to succumb to a bunch of meaningless babble, which many matron mothers would not appreciate.

Still, she had to make sure that there would be no loopholes with this boy. His house was destroyed; what of survivors? Would any others come and look for him? She had no worries about this male who kept him as a slave; that sort she could handle easily, if he even had the brains to follow a street urchin that far. If he had, it could possibly show her just what sort of child her son had found, much as Kyil's high price had shown her that he was a very talented male indeed. Pushing the dangerous thought from her, she looked once more at the boy and noted his rather listless look; he probably hadn't slept or eaten in days. No matter, she was not interested in providing comfort for a runaway. "Name your house and the city it was in. And tell me how you came to have that scar." Since Mikaril's escape, she had come to know the names of many of the drow cities and the houses therein, and answering right away would be in the young one's favor. The scar she would also know about; if he HAD gotten it by rebellion, the boy would surely need to have some sort of........training first. She was certain her patron would be happy to oblige her there.

Adinas.... was doing a weird variation of the potty dance. Up on one toe, then up on the other, Then down on both heels, to repeat the dance all over again. He did not know what more was needed to be known, but clearly this whole process was longer then he had thought it would be. He had cleaned E'th up right? Adinas glanced to his hopefully future mate and blinked.

E'th didn't look so good. Adinas, in his childish way, tilted his head a little so he could peer up into E'ths slightly bowed face. Looking at him he pursed his lips. Oh..he better not get sick...he didn't think his mother would take kindly to stomach ick on her shoes...there would be no saving E'th then. Maybe the roll had been a bad idea after all?

"Uh, I was from Ched Nasad, House Tritorili. Um, and this...." he acknowledged it by lightly touching it with his fingers, eyes sinking to her shoes. "My last Master didn't like when I, um, spoke. After the first time he punished me for, uh, dropping something and I screamed he, um, left this so I would...remember..." Of course it hadn't really helped his coordination. He didn't have much trouble working....it was more walking into things that troubled him.

The scar honestly hadn't been one he wanted to talk about. If it no longer troubled him there would be no problem, but he still occasionally woke up and freaked out because he couldn't see anything. Of course that was the exact reason he hadn't noticed the concerned looks Adinas seemed to be giving him, the other was well on his blind-side and completely blocked from view.

For the first time since this entire conversation between herself and the terrified little male, Haellara nodded with satisfaction. Ched Nasad.......how interesting. She had heard the rumors of course of the unspeakable tragedy that had befallen the city, how most of it was in shambles, the inhabitants scattered the entire length of the Underdark. To have a male travel this far from such desolation was actually plausible. The pendant enforced the tale, and she was satisfied there at the very least.

But the explanation for the scar.........were it not for the continuing stillness of her pendant, she would have thought his constant and annoying stuttering was incontestable proof that he was telling her a ridiculous lie. On the other hand, some liked to have silent servants, and drow nobles never really needed much excuse to severely hurt their males, to say nothing of a nobody male who just needed a body to lord over and tell what to do. She felt a smile tug at the corner of her mouth as she watched the pair; judging by the other's lack of reaction to Adin's meaningful looks, it stood to reason that the other had some trouble seeing out his eye. His last master had not been kind to him, giving him such a handicap so early in life. Still, it gave her a measure of ease knowing that there was a possible blind side she might use to her advantage if ever she felt threatened by the child, which wouldn't be likely.

Finally appeased, Haellara leaned back in her throne and gestured to Adinas. "If you are to keep him for yourself, you alone shall be responsible for teaching him all of the house rules; any breaking of them and he will be punished as any other servant would be. He shall not go outside the house grounds, and if either myself or Nuumia should have need of him, we WILL use him. And you alone shall be responsible for his upkeep; I will not go out of my way to ensure that the boy stays safe here; he will need to look out for himself. Also, I do not expect you to lessen your duties as a result; I still expect you to keep a sharp eye out for treachery, and if I find that you have not been........." She let the sentence hang, knowing full well that Adin knew the consequences for slacking; to her knowledge he only knew of his father and how violent and sadistic he could be, not of the remnants of the torture chamber that she was still rebuilding after......well, she was still not going to think on that incident. It made her so.......angry. With one last long look at the pair, she nodded once and waved her hand idly. "Both of you may go."

Ched Nasad...Adinas had heard that the city had fallen. He had heard a lot of talk amid the servants. But gossip was nothing compare to someone who had a first hand account. What House had he been in? Had he been a first son too? Adinas felt a antsy eagerness to hurry off and ask all his questions. What had E'th dropped and why would his master think blinding him would make him any better? Adinas was grateful that his parents had never seen to find a reason to do anything like that to him...though he suspected his father would have had no problems if his mother told him to.

When Haellara would address him, Adinas snapped to attention. Though she had not spoken his name, he knew that it was now his turn to be talked to. Unlike E'th, he looked eagerly into his mothers face. His head was already bobbing up and down very eagerly. "Yes...Yes Mother." He was quick to agree as she spoke. "I'll make sure he knows all the rules!" He promised. Of course his mother would not go out of her way for E'th. Excitedly, Adinas reached out to grab E'ths arm on his blind side so he could jerk and hug onto it possessively. "I'll make sure Mother. I promise. I promise I won't let slip nothing! I'll keep practicing and watching, I swear I will!" he was SO happy! He was going to be able to keep E'th! With a happy jerk, Adinas started to pull his new acquisition back towards the door. "Come on E'th! I'll show you where you'll be staying! ^_^ And my stuff! I have lots of stuff!!

He silently bowed to the Matron before letting Adinas tug him out eagerly. Ugh....his muscles felt like burning. Well...he could probably stay awake a little longer. Plus Adinas looked too excited to steal his fun....and of course it would be better to get through the house quickly. He would much rather avoid running into the rest of Adinas' family if possible, they sounded to dislike him and E'th would really rather not be knocked silly for dallying.

He smiled faintly at Adinas' eagerness. E'th still didn't trust the household, but it was better than nothing at the moment. He would just need to see where it went. Maybe he'd find himself pleasantly surprised. Then again if the whip was cracked out half as much as his prior master that would be pleasant enough. Lashing hurt even more when his back was bloody, and frequent lashings meant that another lashing would rip open old ones quickly....not really a fun cycle. "Um.....okay," he said slowly.

Adinas had not yet felt the whip. Nor had he known the pains of exhaustion the way E'th did. All in all, he was perhaps the luckiest drow child in the city. Adinas dragged E'th along through the corridors until they reached the lavish bedroom appointed to him. Once the room of his uncle, Adinas barely used it himself. He had no reason to sleep in the bed after all, he often slept in the corner of the ceiling of his brothers room, or his mothers when he could manage it..and NEVER when his father was there. Adinas looked around the room. Closet, dresser, rug, mirror....it was a basic room and a bit more comfortably decorated for a male. Adin pointed to the closet and grinned.

"I usually hide in there, or on top. So no one can find me when I sleep. But now that your here I don't have to be afraid of sleeping in the bed. We can sleep there together!" He paused and looked at E'th. "Unless you wanna sleep in the closet? It feels safer in there you know? I usually go invisible too, you don't snore do you?" That would not be a good thing at all...it would totally give them away! Before even waiting for a response Adinas darted over to his dresser and pulled it open. "Here is all my cloths...but I don't wear any of them. I just wear this." He tugged on the webbing wrapped around him. "So if you need anything more to wear just take it from here, kay?"

E'th looked around thoughtfully. Adinas must've been quite favored by his mother. The Matron seemed to treat him well considering he was male, gave him a rather nice room, plenty of clothing he didn't seem to need, gave him quite a bit of free reign. Well, E'th would have to help prove the Matron's faith in her son wasn't for nothing, he knew to act properly and do what he could to help around the house...however he usually only did cleaning chores, he wasn't too certain what Adinas would ask of him.

He stared a little nervously at the clothing in Adinas' hand before looking back to the drow. "I.....think I should probably sit down...." he said slowly, finding himself shaking again. His vision was blurring, head spinning, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain his balance. He was fairly certain he must've looked rather weak...something he would've rather avoid. He would've rather be seen at least physically strong, but his body seemed to disagree....at least he was maintaining his balance before being offered a seat, how much longer was questionable.

"Huh? Oh...uhm..." Adinas was not sure what to think at that moment. He was only now recalling how weak and sick he had been looking in the throne room. He supposed he should have remembered that. Dropping the cloths back into the drawer, he pushed it closed and darted over to grab E'th by the arm, so he could push the other onto the bed.

"Here. lay down E'th. You probably just need sleep. I'll show you around tomorrow and teach you everything then!" With a firm nod of his head Adinas smiled brightly. Just wait till Xunny saw he had his own slave!!

He sat rather stiffly on the bed, looking rather confused. "Uh....are you, uh, sure it's okay?" he asked, feeling a little stupid. He was sort of used to having blankets and making himself a little nest in a closet or something. He always felt stiff in the morning, but it wasn't so bad he figured. It was like...a mini bed room or something.

E'th also felt the need to wonder....Adinas' Matron said he wasn't to leave the house....perhaps when he woke he should explore the room for any nooks he could wedge himself into whenever Adinas went to explore. It may be a good idea if the others' uncles hated him and would injure or kill E'th if they thought it would annoy him. Ah, he was fairly good at hiding, he'd most likely be able to find somewhere.

"Mother said you were my responsibility." Adinas answered as he pulled the sheets back to the bed. "And since your mine now, I get to decide how I take care of you. So this is how." He replied with a strange cheerful charm. "You can sleep in the bed cause I don't use it. You rest up. Tomorrow is gunna be really busy." He instructed E'th. They had SO many things tot alk about! And he was sure E'th would have lots of stories to tell too. He couldn't wait to introduce him to his brother!!
PostPosted: Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:14 am

"Oh.....uh, right. Um.....okay," he mumbled nervously. That certainly WAS the case....E'th really shouldn't argue with his new Master. The thought seemed odd to deem someone his Master that was so close to his own age. He had to wonder how many other servants and slaves the drow had claimed as his own. Well, not like it was anyn of his business of course.

E'th pulled the sheets to settle beneath them. He laid back, finally feeling even more tired than he thought he'd been. "Then, uh, I'll make sure to be ready to serve properly tomorrow." He gave Adinas a faint smile, pulling the bedding snugly around himself. What a comfortable bed....it was hard to believe Adinas didn't care to use it....

Adinas stood by the bed and watched as E'th settled in. He really seemed like he was going to fall asleep in just a few moments. Adinas stood by the bedside, as if for a few moments he had forgotten there were other things he could be doing. His black eyes stared at the boy in his bed with a weird smile on his face. This was his slave. His boy. He was going to take such good care of him. E'th was going to be his very best friend. He already knew it. Adinas had so many plans!

It seemed to him that E'th had already fallen asleep, she he reached a hand out to gently tuck the scarred drow boy in. Now that he was resting, he'd wake up feeling refreshed. All he needed to do was eat, and...and then they could play...and he could meet his brother... Adinas smiled brightly and he turned away from the bed. Walking to the wall, he placed his hands upon it, and began to crawl up it towards the corner. He could sit and watch his slave for a bit...then he'd go to his brother like he always did. He was so happy...so...so happy...
