"Don't worry.." He made a 'psssshhhh' noise for a moment and waved his hands. He also chucked his stems towards the trash can. Of course he missed and had to get up to pick it up off of the ground and put it where it belonged.
"I'll be a good neighbor. And if you make a ton of noise the most I will do is probably knock and see what fun is going on." Unless there was a boy over. Eugh. Didn't want to walk in on that.
"I usually leave my door open when I am around." At least that's what he'd done in college. He may not have had many visitors but it kept him up to date of the goings on in his building or on his floor.
The older hunter seemed already bored with the cafeteria now that he was finished eating grapes and chugging coffee. There were no other people of interest. He wasn't bored with Cass at all, in fact he liked to talk to people, clearly. He just seemed to always need something to keep his attention. That's why he spend so much time online!
Of course he felt weird about asking if they should leave. He wasn't very good about those sorts of things. Ask him about a topic? Sure. Ask him to handle anything in which other's feelings may be involved? FAIL. So instead he just silently watched her eat for a moment. The talk of murder set a pretty grim mood and he found nothing to input on the subject.
"So.. monsters..." was all he had. Grasping at straws. "Do you think they will all be that effin scary?" Ha! A good question and one he actually was interested in. "You think there is a library where we can look this stuff up?"

"I like the idea of being able to close my door and be alone after 11 years of nothing. I'll admit I haven't actually been locking the door, however." She admitted with a shrug. "Guess that means if someone gets scared in the night they can come and crawl into bed with Momma-Cass. She'll scare away all of the bad things." She laughed, leaning back in her seat and jabbing another piece of fruit into her mouth.
"Can't promise I'll have much 'fun' stuff going on, but I could always do a reading of 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' for you through the wall.
Depends on if the wall we share is where we both have our beds or not." She paused, purposely altering her voice to mimic a mechanical tone
""HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE."
She coughed a bit after the impression, hitting her chest a bit, before she grinned. "Did I sound like an evil supercomputer?" she inquired, voice a touch scratchier than she would have liked as she stabbed the last piece of fruit on her plate with her fork.

"EXACTLY." Bix was impressed actually. "It may sound weird but readings through the wall sound kind of awesome if a lot of it is like that!" He grinned a bit at her. His opinion of the girl had changed about a dozen times during the conversation but he thought that he settled on her being 'pretty cool' on his internal file.
"I have a hard time imagining you as Momma Cass though. She was a big broad.. choked on a sandwich and died. She could sing though." It was a joke, he knew what she'd meant, but now he wondered if she even knew who Momma Cass was. "No seriously.. can't imagine you as the other.. connotation either.." Humor foul.. pointing out your own joke.
"I sleep like a rock. You don't have to worry about me crawling in your bed. A relief I am sure.." He smirked.

Cass coughed a few more times. "Actually, that's the only line of dialogue that character has..and the only time it speaks to it's victims. HATE. HATE. The depths of it's hate are..bothersome." She shuddered a bit then looked at the building they were in paranoidly. It wasn't the inside of a supercomputer, was it?
"But I could spice up all the human dialogue a bit. It's pretty intense stuff. But I love it sooooo muucccccchhhh." She grinned, settling in her seat proper again, setting her fork across the plate she'd had it set on and leaning to prop her elbow on it. There was a pause.
".....Yeah, I don't know that reference. I don't think so, anyways. Then again, I don't remember a lot of references. My brain absorbs and loses information about as quickly as a sponge and then a wrung sponge. It comes and goes as it pleases."
There was a small laugh to follow.
"Well, that's good to know. I sort of sleep rather heavily myself, so I think any random bed visitor would be someone I'd see when I rolled over in the morning and shrieked." However, since she was done eating, Cass slid her seat out from the table and picked up her plate, looking around for where she should drop it off.
HMMMM.

"Ever see Austin Powers? In the first one after he's unfrozen he's looking up all his friends who died?" Momma Cass had been one of them but he just shrugged anyway. He'd spare her his Austin Powers imitation though there was an overwhelmingly strong urge to go 'Yeah baby YEAH!'
He didn't. Phew. But thinking of movies was a nice reminiscence of what he starting to consider 'the real world'.
Bix slid his hands into his pockets and stood up with her. If it wasn't her cue to leave this place, it certainly was his. He was antsy. Without the instant streaming entertainment of the internet he had a hard time deciding what to do if he was sitting still. He could always work on his dorm more.. there was a mysterious box in the top of the closet that was in there when he arrived. Scraps from the previous resident maybe?
"Find anything weird in your room?" He pointed in response to her questioning look. There was a trash bin with a tub for plates and silverware next to it. It was near the end of the buffet.

"Oh, thanks~" Cass said as she bustled on over to drop the plates off, grabbing a bunch of the grapes as she passed them by before jogging over to join Bix again as they took their leave. There. Now she could say she had nommed and her stomach wasn't going to like..throw a fit at her for not nomming.
Noms were important that way.
"Not gonna lie, no. I didn't see Austin Powers. I'm more of a...well..ha ha. I am a horror junkie. Though I do occasionally dabble in the horror films that are so bad I'm cracking up." she said with some great amusement.
When asked about her room, Cass shook her head and shrugged her shoulders, pulling a grape off of the bunch she had taken up and popping it into her mouth. Hmm! These were actually good. She could tell by the boy had just been scarfing them down like some sort of delicacy.
Then again, everything about this place was..exotic.
"My room was empty. I'm more suspicious about the fact that there were things missing from what I packed to bring with me. Which is something when I didn't bring a lot with me to begin with.."

When Cass grabbed more grapes he gave them a double take. They weeeeere pretty good. He also snagged some, grabbing a napkin as well, and wrapped them up. He didn't have a big pocket or anything so he just carried them. Though they hadn't discussed it, they seemed to be wandering back towards their rooms.
"I kind of like everything.. does it sound stupid if I say a lot of horror movies scare me? Well at least they did before." Would he be as scared after their experiences here? Would it all seem really obvious and cheesy like 'oh thats so fake' now that they will be having experiences with real monsters?
"What were you missing?" he seemed surprised. None of his belongings seemed to be rifled through but he hadn't packed anything scandalous. He didn't even pack an iPod. Though now that he thought about it... his cell phone had not been in the bag but they had these new, useless phones so that might be why. "Now that you mention it... I think my phone was missing."

Cass would blame the older boy on her suddenly desiring grapes anyways. They had looked good and they tasted pretty good too. She regretted nothing!! She popped another grape into her mouth while Bix spoke, giving him a long curious look.
"I think they have a jump factor to them, don't get me wrong, but after a while all it is are the directors trying to get a cheap shriek out of you and not really making a good horror film. I mean.." she paused, mulling it about a bit. "I think the scariest movies pre-monsters-actually-exist were the serial killer films. Because there was that feeling in your gut it could happen or even be happening around you and you just had absolutely no idea."
Cass seemed to think about it for a while.
"Though that unsettling paranoia about if something was possible or not with certain horror films like 'The Ring' was pretty intense too... But again, I might just be a touch more numb about it than other people are with the old creeper houses." she shivered a bit. "Man, if someone had jumpstarted me in those places, I might have peed myself. I guess I distinguish the fiction and the reality more..easily than I should be able to? Then again.."
She crinkled her nose and ate another grape.
"That line is getting quickly blurred. Maybe I should start considering movies as instruction manuals."
Cass listened as Bix answered her inquiry about if his stuff had been rifled through or not, making a thoughtful face, before nodding in turn. "My phone, a few other small things. I think it was pretty much a 'if I can communicate outside of the island with it, it is gone' thing."
Which was... not that big of a problem.

"Monster movies make me jump.." They passed a gold and white coated hunter, female, and he couldn't help but eye her a bit. He was a man! A girl crazy man, after all! "Umm.. " brain.. back on track.. "I thinkthe ones that scare me the most are the ones where it's like 'ahhhh that could happen!' Serial killer ones are pretty scary. Did you see The Strangers? That was the last one I saw.. with Liv Tyler."
It scared the CRAP out of him. Just the idea that people would just knock on a door and do that because you ANSWERED. It terrified him! He didn't want to be murdered! He'd lived in a place where no one would find him for weeks if he'd been killed!
"I've been using zombie movies as instruction manuals so far..." Even during their 'pod-sperience'. Movies were his closest frame of reference with any of this stuff. He did turn slightly red at the admission though.
"Yeah it wasn't like I was going to call anyone anyway." They were turning down the hall to their dorms again. It seemed like every couple doors someone had put something on the outside to label who was there. Not many though. Maybe he'd go door to door in his boredom later.
That would be fun.
"We should have a party somehow.." He blurted it out. Something about it reminded him of college and he felt like everyone should have their doors open and mingling. He'd barely seen anyone that he hadn't gone out to seek specifically. "Everyone seems super private."
Jeez Bix.. it's only like.. the first day.

Cass slapped Bix's a** to get his head back into the conversation when his eyes wandered... not even taking into account she'd just slapped a guy on the a**.
"The Strangers? That movie came out like..three years ago!! Then again, the older movies tend to be the good ones." she shrugged. "Last movie I watched before I jumped in the pod was 'The Thing'. It's a good movie! Even if it would be useless as an anti-monster manual. Can't even say how things really turned out in the end."
She laughed a bit.
"Though Night of the Living Dead says don't look out the window" She shook her head. "Hated that ending! Pissed me off! OH NOES, THEY LIVED THROUGH THE ZOMBIES TO GET MISTAKEN FOR A ZOMBIE AND ********' lame."
Cass stretched as the pair rounded a corner to head down their own hallway, wiggling her butt a bit as they walked on, before crossing her arms behind her.
"I think a party would be fun! A better 'get to know you' than WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
WHAT IS YOUR QUEST?"
She looked at Bix expectantly.

"Oo!" He hopped a bit as his a** was slapped. He certainly hadn't been expected to get caught oggling and most definitely didn't expect to get his a** slapped. Though, to note, there was a little bit of round meat under those pants. Not bad for a skinny, lanky guy. Any weight he'd gained from years of sitting on his butt must have concentrated into his nice round behind. It was the only round thing about him!
"Oh I saw those.. the older ones. They're classics!" Why wouldn't ANYONE have seen them? He'd stopped when she slapped him and when she walked on a few steps ahead he once again oggled, this time it was her nice round butt. He then mentally SLAPPED himself for being a 'dirty old man' and caught back up with her.
"TO SEEK THE HOLY.. .. WEAPONS? We are here for the cool weapons right?" He laughed a bit. "We can like.. steal a bunch of food from the commissary and open all of our doors and mingle and stuff." He kind of liked the idea. Would they have to ask permission from their superiors?
To hell with that! They were here to be hunters and take charge for themselves.
"We should do it! I'll put a note under everyone's doors on the floor." He was getting into the idea it seemed.

Cass hadn't even taken note of the butt-ratio. Okay, maybe she had on some level, but it wasn't like she was going to go back for seconds or a squeeze. That would have been weird and possibly very perved up of her to do. She'd have to make sure to not do that.
She also hadn't noticed the new-ogling going on, just looking back over her shoulder at him when he stopped walking and tilting her head slightly to one side as though concerned. It was corrected when he started moving again.
"Well yeah, everybody needs to watch the classics! I mean, remakes are..OK, I guess, but like..the original Godzilla and THE THING and the original japanese versions of like The Ring and s**t like that.. yeah, gotta watch 'em." She grinned, clearly a fan of movies. Cass actually liked all media, it was entertaining when you didn't really have much room to go out and socialize like a baws.
"I guess we're here for the weapons, huh? I haven't...actually.." she paused, looking down at her hands and clasping both shut, fingers gripping tightly as though she was remembering a weight she couldn't feel anymore.
Those doors.
So many doors.
Her face squinched up momentarily.
"Hope we get them soon. I want to know if my hunch is right." she noted with a nod, before the grin came back as brightly as ever. "I think a party to get to know everybody on less of a 'HURR DURR FIGHTING MONSTURS HURR GUNNA DIE HURRR' level would be nice. Even if it is just us sitting around and talking about like..stupid stuff."
She shrugged.
"I dunno, what do people do at parties? I've.." she bit her lower lip, "Been off the party circuit for a while.." she laughed. "Unless really awkward birthday's count." Another long pause. s**t, what was the date now, anyways? She was sure her birthday wasn't for another two months when she left, but now...now she wasn't so sure...

"Well most of the parties I've gone to had booze but I'm figuring thats not an option." Bix rubbed his chin a bit. Their dorm rooms were just ahead.
"So we'll snatch some food.. we'll find some other way to get supplies. Like a supply room or something and see what happens. Maybe we can like TP the hallway for decoration!" He laughed a bit at the thought and it did not once enter his mind that there was a possibility of getting in trouble.
They were at their dorms now and Bix hovered in front of his own door for a moment. "I think it sounds like a plan. I can put a note or something under everyone's doors with a day and time and we can open our doors and mingle. Sound good?"
He was now set on the idea and thought they would need a few days. They were still new here and would probably have things they had to do as a part of their training. It gave them time to squirrel away some supplies too.

The more daring the planning process seemed to imply things would be, the more excited Cass seemed to be about it all; Cass liked doing daring and stupid things! It was probably a bad thing for her to like doing, to be honest, but she still liked it!
"Well, I'm too young to drink.... and somehow I doubt AM-Alexander wants to have drunk trainees stumbling around like idiots." Though that probably wouldn't have stopped Cass from showing up and being drunk at a class anyways. Or for a mission.
Which was because she had no impulse control and it would have been a real mess either way. It was the time bit that required a bit of mulling, but the girl shrugged it off without a second thought.
"Yeah~ I think after a couple of days we can figure out what our schedule is going to be and get a good time set up for everybody." she grinned, then stretched out, her arms raised above her head as far as they could go. "'cause I have no idea what sort of thing they're going to be doing to us tomorrow and for all I know we're suddenly going to have to be Atlas and hold up the planet earth on our shoulders."
...
.....
Or something like that. It was a horrible thought, really.

"Awesome." Bix grinned at her and turned to his dorm room door. He straightened the paper sign there that was crammed underneath his room number plaque.
"Don't worry. If we get in trouble or anything, I'll take the blame. Just this once though.." He laughed. What a gentleman. "I'll get at you after we get settled in. Feel free to come by if you want to borrow a comic or something."
He opened his door and went in but he didn't close it. He left it wide open in case anyone wanted to visit.
"Thanks for exploring a little with me.." Their trip hadn't been too exciting but it at least had killed some time.
