Claire cringed before giving a weak smile. "While the warriors went off the fight I was stuck in the castle. Locked in my room, you might have been one of my guards before. I wasn't allowed to leave remember. The enemy drew closer so now I'm here. I might not act like it, but I'm still Princess Claire."

"Of course princess." Price says looking around again "So why did they not send any maids to help you cook and clean? I mean I know I am to protect you along with colonel Davis who will switch with me in about two weeks, to watch over you then switch back again in another three."

"The young or old Davis." She didn't know anything about the ranks of people. Nor did she really care. She didn't really like having two body guards. Setting the table up she served lunch.

Claire pouted as she sat down. "It can't be helped I guess. He sends the older married men so they won't do anything to me. Not really sure why he allowed you. My father must really trust you or something."

"Oh well." Claire said shrugging. Getting up she sat the food on the table. "Please help yourself." She said smiling before sitting down herself.

"I thought the royal chef cook for the army." Claire asked with a raised eyebrow as she began to eat. It wasn't anything special to her, but she was always told the army ate better then she did.

Price laughs and takes another bite then replies after swallowing "Yea right, as if. They basically take anyone who has any experience with cooking and makes them cook after their duties."

"That's not fair." Claire said slamming her hands on the table. "You all are the ones who protect the castle. You protect our country. My father will be hearing about this when I get back home. No I'm going to send him a long letter. This can not happen." The princess didn't care if she wasn't acting like a princess. She was more angry the people that took care of her weren't treated properly.

Price quickly stands up and tries to stop the princess "OH No no no please don't do that, I will get in trouble just for being here when you wrote the letter and everyone else will get less. I might even be hung and told I am being transferred so please it is for the best if it is this way."

"First of all you will not be hung. I will not allow it. But when I get home I swear I'm going to make sure ever single solider has a decent meal three times a day. No wonder we are losing the war at the moment. We have no true moral." At the moment a flash of lightning flashed across the sky, easily seen from the windows. The princess went from tall and proud to hiding under the table. She was deathly afraid of lightning, just like blood.

Price looks out the window after he sees the flash of light then back again to say something only to see the princess hiding under the table so he leans down and puts his hand out with a smile "It is ok, I am here princess."

Claire opens her eyes only to gently take his hand. Another flash and she closed her eyes again and whimpered. Oh how she hated lightning. Even in the castle she would always be alone during storms. So it made it worse on her.
