She wasn't exactly sure what he meant.. fairly consumed in her own thoughts. Her body was beginning to tingle too from the cold where the wind whipped against bare flesh. And she felt geninuely bad that he was suffering from cold.. among other things. Really it was a pit of feeling bad. Perhaps later when she was home alone she'd wonder why he was so repulsed by her being close to him. But for now the feeling was pretty mutual in a twisted way.
If she shifted a little she might be able to get the cloak to blanket the two of them for warmth. But that meant moving and moving meant... well stuff. She was sighing fairly heavily in thought when movement other than the snow caught her attention and the sky suddenly got very dark.
Two figures.. fleeing in what seemed like slow motion into the darkened garden.. no.. not fleeing.. they stopped abruptly spinning before they enveloped each other in their arms. The ever so soft sound of giggling touching her ears.
If he happened to care or look Niflhel would see that Polaris' attention had shifted, gazing off at apparently nothing.
She couldn't hear what was going on.. only that soft whispers were being shared, tender touches in the silloutte of night. She physically recoiled, well the half inch she was able to, as suddenly the shadowy couple collapsed onto the ground a mere half dozen feet away from where her and Niflhel lay, a flurry of passionate kisses and fingers twisted in familar hair.
Oh for crying out loud... Her face dug into Niflhel's collar as it darkened with blood. Now was NOT the time for vicarious living! She could still hear the young lovers even as she tried to block it out. When it had finally disappated, bringing back the light of day she lifted her eyes with a soft sigh, somehow forgetting to remove her cheek from it's resting place. She was emotionally exhausted after all.
What a horrible day.. Or rather a wonderful day that had suddenly and abruptly been shattered.
After what seemed like a while she finally spoke.. her words thoughtful and soft. "I'm.. glad. Or maybe relieved is a better word. I mean.."
"If I have to be stuck like this with anyone.. I'd rather it be you"

Niflhel still watched the buildings, however a sudden movement from Polaris drew his attention, he watched the girl as she gazed at nothing, his eyes moving along with hers. She seemed to suddenly draw back, he would've tried to comfort her if it wasn't for the fact of the position they were in now. "What did you see?" He asked quietly, curiously.
He paused, looking shocked as she spoke, he seemed to relax a bit. His words having left him for a moment as he tried to think, bringing his forehead up to try to touch hers. "Yes well... I'm not going to try to steal anything." He tried to chuckle and stopped sighing, "I'm sorry if I sounded horrible or mean or anything, I'm not use to suddenly be shoved into such an invasion of personal space."
He gave her a smile, his face was still red from embarrassment, "I'm glad it was you..." He swallowed softly the itch to confess to her about his thoughts that had been happening the past few months since Christmas, flickered through his mind again. He seemed as if he had more to say but he couldn't speak it, his eyes falling sadly off towards the snow as he rested his head on the cold white ground. He couldn't ruin another friendship, he had to protect her from the Negaverse.

"Me.. well the past one. And him." The dark silloutted figure that she could only assume was the author of the letter she'd found earlier. Why else would that particular vision come to life?
Crisis averted.
The change in his voice as the subject changed was welcome. The nervousness of it all seeming to slowly beginning to subside. In the slowly ticking seconds she'd forgoten where his hand rested.. how indecently the might have been posed. The indignity of it all. He was very warm against their cold surroundings, his scent a beautiful one filled with life compared to the silence of the star.
She couldn't help but smile a little as he returned her words. It helped.. it really did.
"I'm going to go ahead and try to move enough now to cover us up" She stated as she leaned back, an inch... two.. not really realizing until she was almost sitting up all the way, fingers reaching back to sooth and move the cloak that they weren't locked together any longer.
"Oh..."

Me and him.... her words echo'd in his head and the words caught in his throat as his eyes widened. He was here before? He closed his eyes trying to mentally shake away anything he was going to say before.
He slowly nodded, "Alright." He said with a whisper, he felt her weight shift and he could move his hand, she was sitting on his lap. Sitting, oh thank god, he moved so he was sitting as well, looking at her.
"Well... that was uh... interesting...." He coughed, there were no jokes or anything much at all really. He sighed, almost relieved that was now over. Offering his hand to her, "Shall I help you up?" He was still sitting but he could at least provide her something not snow covered to use to steady herself.

Oh right, getting up! She scrambled up with his hand as a point to push up from, offering him a bit of weight and leverage to get up too if he took it.
Interesting was a light word for the events of the day. If anything had ever been diary worthy today was probably that day.
"We should go" She offered softly "Or else you might catch a cold"
She didn't feel much like exploring and she hardly doubted he did either anymore. Her hand was offered once more.

Once she stood up he was looking up at her. His eyes just watched her for a second before nodding. "Yeah... Grams would wonder how I got a cold in the middle of spring."
He smiled lamely, before actually spinning so he wouldn't hurt her and pushed himself off the ground standing in a swift move. Something he had been practicing in kickboxing. Dusting off what little bit of white snow there was left to cling to him. "I hope this isn't dry clean only." He muttered adjusting sleeves. He took her hands, "At least don't have to find the ruby slippers." He was trying to joke and ignore the fact they had just spent what felt like forever glued to one another.

She smiled weakly to his jokes, letting the words fall aside that she had been about to say. It had been an awkward enough day.. she didn't need to mess it up anymore by being overly gushy. Not to mention if he didn't know by now that he was her best friend then he was far more oblivious then even she imagined.
Her fingers tightened on one hand, loosening on the other to summon forth her phone, the soft electronic tones sounding overly loud and strange in the quiet courtyard.
Whisked away they were met hidden among the walls of Crystal Academy with the sun and a warm breeze. Her hand lingered in it's hold for a long moment before finally she let go, her fingers sliding from his as she offered Niflhel a bit of a sheepish look. "I'm really sorry for everything..."
"Thank you for coming with me though. I learned a lot of things this time..."

Niflhel watched as she summoned her phone and the sounds from it echoed through the court yard. When they finally found themselves back at Crystal he sighed taking off the bomber-jacket. It was nice to be out of the cold.
He shook his head, "Don't be..." He said finally, there really wasn't much to be sorry about. They just needed to be careful with that attack, he tried to give a reassuring grin, "Lets just figure out how to use that attack so it won't end up as another accident... after all, at least it wasn't a negaverse agent you used it on." He still worried that could be a devastating move.
He paused when she said she'd learned a lot. "Mmm I learned a few things myself..." He said almost mysteriously as his eyes drifted back towards the sky. Shaking his head, "I need to go..." He said softly making sure no one was near them before changing back to Azzo. "Get yourself some breakfast alright?"

I need to go...
"Okay.." She mouthed.. almost silently as Niflhel changed back to Azzo. Deep down she was afraid it would be like it was in the past. When things this big had hit them and they'd both scurried off and completely ignored each other for weeks at a time. Maybe it was for the best anyway. She had thinking to do.. and a world to explore on her own given these new hints.
Her cloak slipped to the ground and Polaris powered down, leaning to scoop up the fur and silk and hug it against her chest, intent on watching him leave.

Azzo sighed, rubbing at his back, "I need to try to get my back warmed up it feels pretty frozen still." He muttered having seen something in her eyes, "I really don't think Crystal wants me borrowing their shower." He gave a soft wink.
He started to walk off but paused, "I'll call you later." He promised and gave a soft nod, he had some thinking to do for himself. Though he'd try not to hole up too much, or maybe just until he could do some investigating of his own. He wasn't sure but he had a feeling he might find more answers on Saturn.
With that he headed off towards his house, after he was out of sight of Polaris he was rubbing his head trying not to look distressed and confused to passers by. A cold shower would help.... he thought to himself.
