"Okay, then we'll start with my biggest question," he said. "What IS a club?" Which made him seem like a complete idiot, until he went on, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I mean, I saw the groups and the games and all that stuff, but what do they do when they're not trying to recruit people into their... gang? Like regularly? You can't tell me the Fitness club is constantly walking around fields looking for objects, or whacking cannon cats. Or that the--the pink club--seriously, was that a club, even? Is constantly betting on drunken cats in poptarts."
He saw the restaurant that she had mentioned by this point and stepped forward to get the door for her. "I've dealt with gangs, sure, but is that what a club is when you get down to it?"

The question caught her completely by surprise, and she blinked at Roch, her head tilted to a side as she stared at the boil. When she finally concluded that no, he was not joking, she couldn't resist giggling. She meant no insult though; she just found it rather amusing!
"You're right... I'll explain clubs in a while," She grinned, dipping her head as a sort of thanks to Roch as she entered the open door; inside, it was decorated in a very... Well, Japanese fashion, with red, black and gold as its main colors, and lots of drapes hanging from the ceiling. A waitress led them to a two-seater table by the side of a conveyor belt filled with sushi of all sorts - from raw and cooked seafood to eggs and even things like brains. Occasionally, a cup of chawanmushi or a plate of Floresce sashimi will pass by them.
"Right, so, everything on the conveyor belt is free game," She grinned, "Take as much as you can eat!"
Grabbing a cup of chawanmushi, she poked at the eyeball staring up at her from within the cup with a spoon before popping it into her mouth. After swallowing it, she looked up at Roch, "A club is basically a group with at least 4 members in it, and who meet up regularly... What they do is dependent on the club though! For example, I belong in the Fitness Club, and being a member grants you entry into the Fitness Club room, where there are a lot of gym equipment as well as a working sauna. As long as you have a partner with you, members are pretty much given free access to the room!"
She then paused to scoop up some chawanmushi, nibbling on it before speaking again, "So... I suppose for a Music Club, your focus will be on... Making music? Or just a club for music lovers? Either way, doing things related to music? Perhaps organizing mini 'lunch-time' concerts in the cafeteria, where members get to perform, or even offering your services up for school events! The possibilities are endless!"
Grinning, she leaned forward a little, "You'll need to decide on what days and time to meet up as a club, and find a Club room to meet up in first, though... I recommend asking Professor Blue, the music teacher~"

"So if I wanna make them go out on the street and try playing for money, would that be fine?" he asked. "Because that's the way I learned what goes over with people and what doesn't. Playin' to yourself, it might be fun, but it doesn't get anything real accomplished in the long run." All this time he was pulling plate after plate after plate off of the conveyer belt, until the entire area in front of him was covered.
"And we don't have to have the teacher there all the time, right? You said as long as there was a friend or somethin, you were fine, right?" he asked, now starting to eat since he was out of room for plates. He didn't actually know WHAT it was that he was eating, but it wasn't bad! The chopsticks gave him a bit of trouble, so he wound up stabbing the food with them and shoving them in his mouth before they could slide off.

"... Um," She wanted to answer his question, but found herself staring as he went through plate after plate after plate of sushi instead. Soon, there was a giant pile of plates on the table, and the waitress had to clear it for them before Lizzy finally snapped out of her wide-eyed stare, "Wow, you sure can eat!" She couldn't resist chuckling softly at that.
"Anyway, as I was saying, I'm not sure about the street, but I'm sure you can hold fund-raising concerts in school? The money raised can go into better equipment, food for club meetings... Things like that!" She mused, looking thoughtful before beaming at Roch, "You're right... I find playing as a band much more rewarding than playing by myself. It was a nice experience... Something I won't mind doing again!"
She nodded at his next question, "Yup! In fact, I think some clubs don't have a head teacher, although if you want to use a teacher's classroom as your club room, you'll have to ask one for permission! Also, the partner rule was enforced in Fitness Club as a way to prevent accidents from happening and nobody finding out till it is too late - I mean, having a partner means that if something happens to you, someone else can go get help! It's a good rule to have, yes?"

"Yeah, for fitness, but what's going to happen with a guitar? Er, other than mine," he added, shrugging off the foot long blade on his guitar headstock. "And I've not cut myself on it yet. Plus, I'm pretty sure no one else would be able to use it, so there goes that problem. And sure, we'll need some more instruments later on, but at the start, I figure most of them will be able to provide their own," he said. "Maybe a drum set would a be a bit of a pain to move to a new room, but we'll figure something out."
By this time he had filled up his area again with plates and was proceeding to eat it all quickly again. He had gotten quite good at the jab and eat method with the chopsticks, but he would probably have to figure out how to hold them right sometime... possibly. "But we could pick up cash at the school?" he asked her. "There some really rich kids there?"
It seemed he had no clue about who she was.

"Oh! There's a drum set in the music room!" She nodded, "But Professor Blue loves his instruments... If they're damaged..." She shuddered at the thought of what might happen, pushing back her bangs as she smiled sheepishly, "Just be careful if you intent to use his classroom, alright?"
At the next question, she had to pause for a while before answering, "Frankly speaking, I'm not sure... I'm sure if you set up a music club, the school will provide you with the instruments you need? I guess you might need to raise funds if you want to buy your own instruments though, if your members lack one."
She couldn't resist blushing, looking a little uncomfortable at the 'rick kids' comment, tapping a finger against her chin, "Um... Uh, well... I suppose there are, yeah... Considering the number of students from rather influential families we have in the school due to its reputation... But wouldn't you like to see how much you can raise as a club rather than relying on 'rich kids' in the school?"
Pausing momentarily, she finished up the rest of her chawanmushi (yes, she was eating that slowly) before perking up, as if remembering something, "Oh! Have you heard of Battle of the Bands? We had one in the past - I was a part of it, and most of us had a lot of fun! You could organize one as both promotion for the club as well as to raid funds? People have to pay to participate and to watch?"

Somehow he wasn't certain they were on the same level of thought, he decided as he looked at her for a long moment. He even paused in his eating to contemplate how to put it. "I don't want to use a teacher's room unless I gotta," he told her after a moment. "What we can do on our own, we'll do on our own or go without until we can. And when I said rich kids, I meant kids that would be willing to pay to see us play on a regular basis. And putting together a band out of the members might work after a month or two of practice, but expecting them to sound good together straight away?"
He snorted and finished off another plate, shoving the sushi into his mouth with his fingers. "I don't expect anyone to make it easy for me, if that's what you think I'm saying. But yeah, a battle of the bands might be cool. I think someone mentioned it on groanspring once. But hell, I need three others to join it, anyway. Danny's one, but for the other two..."
He went silent, thinking. "Heh, maybe that Aksaja guy would pay for me to do the music for one of his pimp... er, host parties. That'd give us a little bit of starting room."

"Oh? So you'll be requesting for a normal club room then?" She wasn't sure if that was what he meant by not using a teacher's classroom as a club room; she only suggested it because it would be easier. Using the music room as the music club's club room is logical, right? There's even a stage and everything...
"I would pay to watch you play," She answered, blinking as she tilted her head, "And I'm sure others would too... Well, as long as it's not too expensive... And oh? Aksaja... Ah, that dragon." That dragon she did not have a good impression on since the foggy island, "I'm glad you found a potential place to play though! Um... I would join but I won't be able to commit and that would be unfair to you..." She looked upset at that, but quickly perked up, determined not to ruin the... Uh, mood?

"That's fine," he said, giving her a crooked grin. "I found a couple of other guys on groanspring that play instruments. I'll just ask everyone on there if they'd be interested. And uh... I think our hour and a half is up," he added as he caught someone shooting them a dirty look. "Besides, I'm almost full," he added, seeming a bit surprised. "This sussi stuff ain't bad."
He stood, digging some silver seeds out of his pocket and tossing them (and the tooth) onto the table. "We should go pay, right?" he asked her.

"Ohh? That's awesome!" She grinned before looking up, realizing that there is someone staring at them. Whoops; time passed by rather quick. She got off the seat, raising an eyebrow at the boil before grinning, "I already said that it's my treat! If you feel bad, give me free entrance to your first performance~"
Without waiting for his reply, she hurried over to the counter at the entrance/exit of the store, settling the bill quickly before turning back to face Roch.
"I'm walking back to school since it's not too far away," She nodded, "You planning to go back or stay here a while?"

"I can walk you back if you don't mind stopping somewhere real quick," he told her, not arguing over paying. At least he left a tip? "I gotta get my stuff." He headed out the door, looking to get his bearings for a bit, then turned in the direction of the train station.

"Sounds like a plan!" She nodded, "It'll be nice to take a walk after a meal anyway~" Not that she ate much; most of her time was spent staring at Roch (that huge eater of a reaper) eat or explaning to him what a club is. He probably ate enough to cover the bill for both of them though, so she didn't see it as seeds wasted. Besides, she made a new friend! That's good, right?
She followed closely beside him as he left, allowing him to lead the way; she hadn't been to the train station since... Well, since that field trip to Christmas town. Now that that particular memory was no longer as fresh, however, she didn't dwell on it for long.
... Time sure flies by.

Roch reached the station and grabbed onto the drainpipe on the side, pulling himself up and reaching over the edge of the roof to grab his bag. "Got it," he said as he dropped down, turning to her. "Let's go... home," he said, tasting the word curiously, a little smile on his lips.
It wouldn't be like his old home, but hey, it was a step closer to being out from under his old man's shadow, right?
