More sport indeed. Something appeared to have caught the chimera's attention, and it was the back of the robed boil as he moved off to further harass the reaper as well as pile up a tray with food. Nahm, interesting name. Even more interesting figure, or lack there of. Her head tipped to one side as she watched him, curiosity mounting as she wandered just what it was he was hiding beneath the obvious layers of ragged clothing.
As he returned her lips pursed, eyes squinting slightly as she strained within the shadow of his hood, seeing nothing within by the deviant glint of the light reflecting off what she suspected was his eyes. "Very memorable," she commented softly as he took a seat, and she turned to face him. Rolling to lay along the table on her stomach with her chin propped on folded hands, elbows resting before her.
"So," she started, plucking a bit of.. something from his tray and nibbling on it thoughtfully. "What do you have hidden under all that?" Her finger rotated in the air in his direction, clearly indicating she was inquiring about his attire.

"Ah why thank you," she accepted the insect, use to eating bugs but prefering meat. She popped it into her mouth, crunching on the shell. In the desert you learned to eat what was available. "Hmm, could have used some different spice. Ah this place will definately take some getting use to."
She flicked her tail back and forth lazily, crossing her long legs finally. Granted that made her already short shorts look higher up on her thights but she didn't notice. Her anhk headband gleamed a bit as she looked down at the pup that Merry was after. She smirked as the girl laid out on the table.

"Oh, good." Nahm's eyes flicked sideways to take a good long look at the chimera ghoul as she stretched out on the table. He propped his chin on one gloved hand, smiling over the edge of his scarf. "Under all this?" He mirrored her gesture, teasing. "Just me. You curious?"
"Cafeteria food's always sort of uninspired," he mused towards Tari. "I'm sure there's somewhere to get something more interesting. But me, I'm hungry now."

Oh, he was a delightful tease, wasn't he? Shaded lids dipped over red eyes as she abandoned the rest of whatever it was she'd been nibbling on, tossing it aside, and reaching over to pluck at the front of his robes. "Infinity," was her purred retort.
What could she say, he was terribly interesting, and she held the natural curiosity of countless beasties. He was pushing her buttons, she was inclined to push back.

Cady shuddered.
She'd finally escaped the libreddy, somewhat unscathed- a few books had snapped at her on the way out, and she was pretty sure she'd developed permanent goosebumps. The important thing was that she was alive.
This time, she decided to follow her nose instead of her feet - food would make her feel better about the ordeal. Food made EVERYTHING better. She followed the scent of what she could only hope was cooking through the dark halls, finally pushing through a set of double doors into what could only be a-
A...
What was it again? Lafiteria? But no, it looked like they had food here... Of course, the food WAS kind of funny looking. Whatever. Thinking was hard, eating was not. She flicked the visitor's tag around her neck unhappily - she'd have to remember to not try to swallow anything, or eat any of the dishes. Gladys had told her that she would Choke. Whatever that was.
She grabbed as many plates of food as she could reasonably carry balanced on her arms, using her wings and tail as counterbalances. She added a final plate atop her horns. It wasn't really the amount of food she was interested in, so much as the variety. She surveyed the tables - one had a ghoul splayed across the top - was she food too? She moved over to set her plates a little ways away from her - in between her table and the table of another boil who seemed to have the right idea about portion control, judging from the vast array of platters cluttering his countertop.
Looking to him quizzically, she gestured at the table-laying ghoul. "Is she food too? I thought we weren't allowed to eat people? Isn't that a rule? But she's on the table," she mused, then added excitedly, "OH! But it IS a special occasion!"

Takeo's gaze had fell on his now empty plate. He had a problem, and that was he was still hungry. The smell of more food made him look up again, this time to find the group had split a bit. One person seemed to move away sitting at a table in front of his own and spreading out a bunch of food. The sight made his mouth water again and was just the motivation to get him to finally gravitate over. "Going to eat it all...?" Takeo questioned unsure if he was allowed to go back for more.

Roch blinked up at the two that had just approached him, placing the second to last empty plate on top of the others. "You can always go get more," he told the male before looking over at the ghoul on the table, then back at the ghoul asking about eating her. "Dunno, maybe you should go try taking a bite and see?" he asked, flushing, but wanting revenge more than he was embarrassed to talk. He gulped down his last plate and stood. "Ahhh, I'm full! I'm gonna go see what else is going on. Maybe find some music."
He stood, and quite purposefully, walked out of the cafeteria. Too many ghouls, way too many ghouls.

The feline was already starting to get bored as the two others started their flirting. He was interesting but not as much to Tari. She went to grab a plate of bloodied something then turned to look for a pace to sit. Then suddenly.....she blinked as the new ghoul entered. Was that really what she thought it was?
The ghoul took a lot of plates and scared off the weak little reaper boil while joining another. Tari decided that would be a good place to settle in to eat. She didn't want to join the table of the donkey and dog any more. She sashaed her way over to the table and smiled at Cady.
"Well met cousin, mind if I join you?" she purred to the fellow feline female. Manticores and Sphnixs were related, their territory is really what seperated them. Well that and the scorpion tail and horns. But Tari was glad to find a creature similar to herself. Who knows, maybe there was a griffon at this school too!

Take a bite and see. Yes, that sounded perfectly reasonable. People here were so smart. Cady was even more excited about applying here now - with all these smart people she would obviously have to learn SOMETHING. Through ozmoseys. If she just moseyed enough, she could be the smartest manticore EVER. She wasn't sure what the 'oz' part meant, but it was obviously not important.
She abandoned the piles of food she'd collected for something that looked considerably fresher. Surveying the ghoul, she decided that maybe it might be better to start in the leg region. Gladys had said that small things could be a Choking Hazard, and those feathers looked troublesome.
She took a seat in the appropriate region of the table, eyes glazing over in anticipation of her prize.
Cady glanced over as another ghoul walked walked up to the table. Cousin? OH! Taking in her features, she decided she must be a spinks. Yeah. That didn't sound quite right but she was fairly certain it was close.
"Oh! Hey! I'm Cady, of course you can sit here. There are lots of chairs. There must be lots and lots of students. Are you a spinks? I see you have food- so spinks don't eat people then? Are you going to try some of this?" She gestured at the other similarly featured ghoul laying on the table in front of them, completely oblivious to the conversation she'd been having with the boil further down the bench. "That boil who just left said we could take a bite so I think she's supposed to be food. They left a lot of feathers on though and Gladys says that that is a Choking Hazard. Do spinks Choke? Cadys don't but I have this stupid tag and now I can't swallow things right anymore." She waved the visitor's tag around her neck unhappily. She was a little out of breath after the rant, so she went back to eyeing the potential food.

The female smiled as the ghoul greeted her then let her finish asking all her questions. She knew from her own experience with her real manticore cousins that they could be kind of chatty. Also it did not good to try and stop them once they got started. She took a bite of a bloody piece of...something, dabbing her mouth with a napkin but leaving her claws bloody.
"Yes, I am a sphnix," prounces it for her, "My name is Nefertari, but call me Tari honey. And I only eat people if they try to steal something from me. Or don't answer my riddles," she giggled a bit at this. Not that she had been allowed to eat anyone as of yet. She still had to pass her Riddle Test before she could be a full grown sphnix. For now she continued answering questions. She looked at the ghoul spread out on the table and gave a sultry smile.
"Oh I'd love to have a taste of her but sadly you have to ask her permission before you eat her," she giggled a bit and tickled Merry's foot before turning back to her cousin. "And I wouldn't suggest listening to reapers, they hardly give good advice. And yes, a Sphnix can choke but usuallly we are the ones doing all the choking. It's what our name means," she smiled proudly, as if that were something to be proud of.
"Yeah I have one of those too," she held up her own visitor's badge. "It can be annoying but it was the only way to get in here." She munched on some more bloody stuff.

Takeo blinked. Was it something he said? He wasn't used to interacting so maybe he did do something after all...should he apologize? Talking was harder then he thought...
Still he didn't want to get off on the wrong foot, as Roch left Takeo quickly followed. "Ah..." he commented lightly pausing a moment to give a quick side glance at the others before beginning to stalk Roch in attempt to catch up and apologize for whatever he said to make him leave which he figured was his fault.

Sphinx. Yeah, that sounded MUCH better. After all, Gladys said sphinxes were really smart. Cady was suddenly very glad she'd run into this ghoul. She - Tari? - seemed to know the rules. About eating people, and those were important.
"They can make people choke?!" Cady exclaimed. "That is so cool. And people always answer my riddles, even though I work really hard on them, but it's ok because mam says we can eat them anyway. Only Gladys says that we can't do that here because it is a shkk-ool and it is not allowed." Her ears went down a bit at the fact that she had to ask permission to eat someone. She was pretty sure that most people didn't like being eaten.
"Is that what he was? A reaper? Gladys is a reaper, but she is old and a lady. He had funny hair. Gladys has white hair and that is funny too, I guess all reapers have funny hair. Do you think his grew purple?"
She nodded at the ghoul's badge. Yeah, Gladys had made her promise not to take hers off once she got inside. She would be a Good Cady, choking hazard or no.

Well. Maybe today was going to be really interesting after all. Heh. "Mind hanging around till my brother shows up?" Nahm asked Merry, and gave her a beatifically innocent smile. " ... He'll get pissed if I just take off without him. Don't know where his skinny a** got off to, but he'll show up soon enough, I'm sure." The last part of that was said towards the door, loudly.
He stifled a snicker as someone asked if Merry was part of the meal. "You could probably nibble," he suggested.

Charlie had started out on his way to the open house with Tahki but some how managed to lose her on the way. He didn't really notice until he got to the cafeteria and turned back to look but no one was there. Hmmmm.... Maybe she got kidnapped?
That wasn't important right now though. What was important were tasty treats which was part of the reason he wanted to come to open house to begin with. The pink haired boil stood there and looked thoughtful for a moment. So many new faces he didn't know. So many. The demon took a moment to really look over them all.
That was til he caught scent of the food. Charlie skipped and grabbed him self a plate of something he wasn't entirely sure what it was then went ahead and grabbed a seat with the others.

Cady turned around to grab one of her many plates off the other table - better to try the new food while it was still warm and wiggly! She flattened her ears again as the boil by the front of the mysterious food-ghoul suggested she take a nibble. She really wanted to, but she had promised Gladys...
She was too impatient to muse over these things. She shoveled a bit of some kind of gruel in her mouth and said around it, "I fink I'll juff eat dis fuw naow," she gulped the warm gravy away, and added, "Plus she looks like me, and Gladys says that's can-in-balls is-um. And it's bad. I could get the train damage." Cady was pretty proud of this sudden burst of knowledge. She could be smart too.
She scooted over a little to make room for the pink haired boil with the head phones. She wondered if he could hear her... Or see with his eyes closed like that.
"Hey, your eyes are squinty. Were you born that way? You can sit here. I like your headphones," she added. "You don't smell like the other people here. But you have wings and horns. Are you a kind of monster too?"
