I have the book, movie and manga! I love it all so! I so want to make Momoko's plaid dress. Also, did anyone notice the second bed scene in the movie, and that it's the maid the rich lady is sleeping with?

I own both the comic, and the movie I love both of them to death but I just adore the movie the most. The only thing I liked just a tad more in the comic then I did with the movie was that the comic showed ichigo-chan so well in the outfit she modeled with the bunny eared head-dress I abslulty adore those mrgreen once I get to moving to Japan I will difantly have to look up a Baby Star Shine Brightly store and buy some. ( just for a tid bit of info I am studying to go to Japan and teach Elementary or preschool English). I havn't gotten the novel yet..but I am really, really hoping I can get ahold of it soon.

I honestly hate to correct people like that, but the proper spelling is Rococo, not Rocco. I just think that is something that Lolita's should embrace, so I felt the need to say that. Anyway, I own both the movie and book of Shimotsuma Monogatari, and yes I cherish them very much.

I have read the book a total of 45 times since I purchased it two weeks ago, and I have to say that I love it much, much more than the movie.
The movie rendition of Momoko Ryugasaki is so 2D... in the book, she has a lot more depth, and I can actually relate to her. Unfortunately, they don't give very much depth to Ichigo, but she is much more interesting a character.
... also, I don't like Kyoko Fukada xp She's too cute to play Momoko. According to the book, she was supposed to be enormously average-looking, which I like because... let's face it, not all Lolitas are going to be slender, cute, large-eyed Japanese girls. XD

My boyfriend downloaded me the movie on Bittorent and burned it for me =)
Very cute.
Although, I hate to say it, but when Momoko turned around and Ichigo cried... I cried. I was sitting on the couch in my jamies clutching an iced cappicino balling my eyes out. I found it to be sad.
But I love how Momoko flies. I loooovvveeeddd it when she got hit by the truck and it was slow-mo. So good. Not because I hate her >.> [I love her, I really do!] but because I found it amusing.

Awww, that's very cute. Although, how did you find her getting hit by a car amusing?

I saw a bootleg copy of the movie that my Californian aquaintance at school managed to get from a friend. It was cute and hilarious. So much so.
I don't think anyone should use the movie as a basis for a lifestyle though, because it's a story for entertainment, not an outline of a lifestyle. ALthough, the picture of the Roccoco period cracked me up with all it's sex and debauchery, because for me, who dresses sweet loli mostly, the style is about being cute rather than extravagent. 3nodding
All that said, I LOVED Ichigo. heart
