Exactly as she had intended.

Anticipating the attack, Kwana ducked under his paw and, snarling lunged forward as if to ram to larger lion and put him at a disadvantage from the start.

The fight for the throne was on, and if Kwana wanted any chance of winning, she would either have to do so very quickly before Kimeti could regain his concentration, or very carefully, planning out every move. The Firekin King was no mere antelope, no bit of prey she could take down in a few choice attacks. His mane was practically a shield against her claws, and she had nothing of the sort to protect herself with.

But where there was life, there was hope.

Kimeti was surprised at her sudden movments having forgot how quick his older sister was with her lithe body. The impact cause the Lion to stagger back but did not let it phase him. He had learned tricks from his grandfather and father before they perished. Even if he was young he had learned to put their lessons to use.

With a growl he lashed out at the lionesses paws to trip her up before pouncing ontop of her form, claws aiming to dig into her vulnerable flesh. He knew he would kill her if it came to that but hidden deep inside he knew that killing her would not be the best option let alone would cause a well of guilt to form. Even if Kwana was opposing him he couldn't live with the dead of his sister upon his shoulders. No the best choice he had would be to injure her enough so she had no hopes of winning. Not that she had much now.

The King staggered and Kwana lashed out at his stomach with one clawed paw, but in doing so left herself vulnerable to his swipe. She tripped, but moved with it, falling onto the sand in an almost graceful manner and swiftly rolling aside to avoid his pounce, barely avoiding his claws.

Stay out of reach. Don't let him get above her. Once trapped, she was unlikely to pull free.

Quickly regaining her footing, she whirled and pounced in returned, claws bared to sink into his shoulder, jaws directed towards his throat.

Kwana's graceful movement cause Kimeti to smirk. Ah yes he could see his mother in her at times. Kinja was always the graceful one. It was a pity that Kwana never get along with mother, oh well. No reason to cry about the past.

Kwanas attack at his throat was not unexpected. Going for the throat was the most common of killing procedures, unfortunatly for Kwana all she really got was a mouthfull of mane as her claws dug into his vulnerable shoulder. Barely flinching from the claws buried within his flesh Kimeti took Kwana's vulnderable position and allowed himself to roll backwards onto his back, taking his sister with him. Her lithe form would be her downfall here. With one swift movement Kimeti rolled to get on top of his sister to pin her on the cooling sand as a paw moved to push down upon her throat, claws angled so as to miss the delicate area.

The lioness appeared briefly surprised by Kimeti's move, but the look immediately faded as she landed heavily on her back, grunting from the weight. Really, she had expected something of the sort. He was naturally going to use his weight against her and, of course, that meant crushing her in any way possible. Not that that eased the pain any, but she knew how to react.

While she was pinned, the lioness sunk her claws deeper into her brother's shoulders, jaws latching down on his neck. As he rolled, meaning to scrape her off on the sands, she shifted and moved with him, keeping her grip as tight as possible.

He wasn't getting rid of her that easily.

Kavuasi had slipped past Mpeka and made his way towards the dens; he slept there for a couple of hours, and awoke to the sounds of fighting in the distance. Naturally, he was intrigued. Fighting upon Firekin lands? It happened often. But it was important that he find out who, so he could report it to Hestia.

The smells of his siblings hit him hard as he stepped towards the fighting, and he chuckled as he spotted - not only Kwana and Kimeti, the fighters - but his sibling Kijinga as well. Now if only Kafara would arrive... Then they'd almost all be together again. Not that he was looking forward to it, mind you.

Ahh, if only they'd quit bickering and see that he was there. That'd solve both of his problems; one was getting noticed and being accepted back into the pride, and the other was keeping the pride intact. Both seemed nearly impossible at the moment. Sighing, Kavu decided he'd rather not wait 'till either of them got torn to pieces, and settled himself a few feet from the tussle. He tilted his head back and let loose a giant throat-thrashing roar.

"QUIT THIS NONSENSE! YOU'RE BEHAVING LIKE CUBS!" He bellowed, ears flattening against his skull.

Kimeti growled as claws dug deeper into his shoulder. How annoying! Why couldn't she just give in? A few more times under him would certainly do some damage to the femme. Tail thrashing he roared as he tried to throw the lioness from him but it was futile. Aiming to throw his weight back again Kimeti was stunned to a hault as the booming voice rang in his ears.

Golden orbs turned to the fiery red male who stood there with such brazen, but what the strange male intended to accomplish was indeed done. Kimeti stood staring at the male whom he had long thought dead. To see Kavuasi standing there in perfect health and a full robust male completely stunned the King. "Kavu..."

The female on his back was completely forgotten except for the continuing stab of pain in his shoulder. He growled and snapped at KWana. "Get off me woman!"

(Guess who's back! Back again! *Boogies*)

Kafara was not pleased. The spot that she had picked for a quick rest hadn't been ideal- it was too exposed. Like a true Firekin, Kafara had stretched out directly under the blazing sun, but that had been early in the morning. It had been hot then, but it was even hotter now, and she was overheating.

The young lioness arched her back and pulled herself on her feet, yawning and blinking her eyes. Her ears pricked. There were sounds coming from nearby- someone fighting. Lovely, just what she wanted to wake up to. Squinting her eyes and letting loose another lazy yawn, Kafara decided that it would be wise to investigate.

As she padded closer to the combatants (she went at a leisurely pace, and it took her longer than it should have), she recognized them... Uh-oh... Kafara winced visibly and stood next to Kavu, silent as ever. She'd come just in time to hear him yell at their two scrabbling siblings. Kavu had said all that was necessary, though she doubted that his words would stop the two powerhungry rivals. Deciding not to add to Kavuasi's words, Kafara settled for a disapproving glare.

Kavuasi snorted, trying hard to cover up his laughter. Kimeti looked so dumbstruck... He couldn't help but be amused.

"Mmghgm. Ahem." He cleared his throat, then narrowed his eyes at his younger brother and older sister. "Now then. What's all this about? I leave for... well... for a while, and come back and find you two at each other's throats? How do you expect to keep your pride behind you, Kimeti, if you're too busy fussing with Kwana? And Kwana..." He frowned, rolling his shoulders back. "You shouldn't bicker with Kimeti, not only because he's the King, but because he is your brother, too. I'm ashamed of both of you. You know better than this."

Ohmanohman. When Hestia assigned him this, Kavu never thought it would be this much fun. Watching Kwana and Kimeti go at it was awesome in and of itself, but then being able to chastise them? Go him! This was the coolest thing ever!

Kirjava blinked at the sudden outburst of violence. What was this? Crimson eyes spotted the newcomers as one of them looked familiar from quite a while ago, but she thought none of this. Turning her gaze back towards the fighting, the King was fighting over his throne with his sister. While she didn't really understand what was happening, the female understood her position in this matter and that she was not a fighter. Lowering herself to lie down on the hot sands, she just watched the scene until two more lions came to stop the fighting.

The voice.

Stunned as she was by the unexpected arrival, Kwana didn't immediately release her brother, starting and sliding from his back with his words. Surprisingly, she there was no snappish retort, nor protest of any sort. Apparently her brother's return had truely confused her.

She was silent for the time, fight temporarily forgotten, staring almost horrorstruck over at her younger sibling. Only with his direct statement towards her did she snap back to her senses, bristling and snarling. "Do not speak of what you do not understand, Kavuasi."

He was back. Here. Now. This...was...impossible. Kwana's heart sank, but her expression remained tense. Kimeti was enough of a challenge, but with Kavuasi here as well... It would be nigh on impossible to defeat two of her brothers, to raise the pride against them. And Kavu would likely pose a challenge to both herself and Kimeti. The throne was first his now that he was home.

Never would this rogue steal her pride away, even if it meant allying herself with Kimeti.

Kimeti eyes Kwana as she slid from his back but quickly turned his attention to Kavu who continued to chastise them. Kwana was apparently not as stunned he had originally thought for her scathing words were quick to flit through the air after Kavu's rant.

"Kavu, you know not what the pride has gone through recently. The plague ripped through viciously killing many including father. For awhile it was only Mother, Kwana, Kijinga and myself. Mother of course made sure that things stayed in tact. Thankfully lost members of the Blood began to return and I took the throne. Though there some troubles." He eyed his older sister. "Kwana insists that the throne is hers and has been planning a revolt. I let it go for some time but I could not ignore it any longer." He growled out the last bit still furious at his sister for doing such a thing as rallying the pride against him.

He turned to his brother and sister. "Where have you two been? It's been so long Kavu! And Kafara, you just dissapeared after the plague. What happened?"

Kavuasi didn't flinch as Kimeti spoke about their father - he had already heard of that. How else would he have known that Kimeti was King?

"I know all this. I'm not daft, Kimeti. Any traveller passing by the Firekin lands could spot these troubles from a safe distance, if they chose to do so. The stench of plague is still here." Then, he glanced over at Kwana, snorting softly.

"A revolt, eh? How stupid. Kwana, not only are you not ruler material, but even if you were, you are not a male. And since Kimeti is, and in my absense was the only male left of our siblings, he has every right to be King." He paused, then rolled his shoulders back once more, lifting his head.

"Mayhaps Kimeti should continue thrashing you, to teach you a lesson." Normally, he wouldn't suggest such a thing, but he needed Kimeti to be merciless. That was the Firekin way, and that was what they all needed to return to.

He also ignored Kimeti's question about where he had been. He really hadn't thought up a good lie, and he couldn't tell the truth. Hestia would have his head on a stick if he did.

Nuri could only watch as siblings came out one by one, suddenly appearing 'just in time'.

"Figures..." She hissed to herself, "Worthless royality...all deciding they can hide until they have the chance to make history, it is between Kwana and her brother." She dared not speak it up, less she wanted to be involved, but instead she turned her head away, bored of the scene.

"Chomo, feel free to tell me how this ends..." And with that crisp request in the air, she turned to walk down the dunes, a good distance away from the bickering siblings and yet still needing to go around. In fact, this scene had interrupted their path, so she had to somehow get to the otherside, but for now she would avoid all lions with the same silent grace she always had done with. Silence lacking all emotion, she would be a mere shadow of red, and if any one looked upon her, they would get nothing, as she always liked it.

Besides, she didnt want to think what this 'royality' would do when they saw them, wandering Firekins, right after they fought with their own flesh and blood.
