As Felix began his bravely running away tactic a familiar voice called out after him, "HEY FELIX! HOLD UP!"

The dog was on the ground at the base of the tree held frozen in mid stride, obviously ready to pursue the escaping food. However his shadow extended not only away from its' body but up the tree trunk to Rhaim. Who stood erect, though upside down, under a mid level branch with his hands already securely in his pockets once again. The teens' hair flowed beneath him revealing in full the usually hidden Konoha headband. The Nara Genin called out to Felix once again, hoping that he had stopped, "Hey, you mind tying the dog up? I can't hold it like this forever. But don't worry it can't do anything to you now."

Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Bind Technique)
A skill that originally was used as a delaying tactic, the user is able to control an opponent's movement by connecting his shadow to theirs. The user's shadow is able to move, extend and change shape, but it must maintain the same surface area as the original. Any shadows between the user and opponent can be used to increase the total surface area, thus allowing the user's shadow to extend further than normal. The technique is also known as the Shadow Imitation Skill (Kage Shibari no Jutsu). This jutsu does not harm the ninja using it when their opponent is harmed, unless they're harmed by an outside force. Distortions to the overall shape of either the target or the Nara (if they can maintain the jutsu) can harm the other party, such as breaking an arm. Punctures to the skin however do not transfer between the Nara and the target.
Cp cost: 20 (+5 per round), +1 per opponent level per round
Damage: N/A
Reflex DC: 1D20 + Reflex save vs. 1D20 + users Ninjutsu.

Special: Foe's dodge bonus is 0 and cannot perform any actions until free of the jutsu.

Upon hearing a faint rustling in the leaves Tao crouched low and readied a kunai. The dark mass of fur belonging to a medium sized animal failed to blend in very well with the green mass of leaves that it was laying on. Bingo, first target found. He thought to himself as he took aim at the animal. With a quick flick of his wrist he let his kunai fly. Seeing that he had missed his target Tao made sure to hide himself so that he could prepare another attack. He quickly darted into some nearby brush and held another kunai at the ready.

The heavy rise and fall of the chest of a contently sleeping dog, snoozing through the morning, was suddenly interrupted by a thrown kunai. The animal shot one eye open by instinct to find the bladed device stuck in the earth directly in front of it. Instantly recognizing what it was the dog leaped backwards, towards Tao, onto its' feet. Still startled from its' slumber by the unprovoked attack the animal let out a low growl and began darting its' head about the area in an effort to find the culprit. This proved a fruitless endeavor as it was still groggy.

The canine then decided that it did not like the idea of being hunted without knowing the disposition of its' enemy. With a speed rivaling that of a senior Genin, the beast fired straight up into the trees above. Opting for cover and concealment amongst the branches.

Felix stopped his run, glancing back as Rhaim called out to him.
"...Sure, why not..." Felix moved back slowly to the dog, then looked around for a rope.
"...What should I tie it with, Rhaim?" Felix asked the other Genin frantically.

Rhaim let out a small sigh as he scanned the other Genin over noticing that he didn't have any rope on the outside of his person. The teen had assumed that he would have brought the one he received in the Nawanuke lesson in his backpack. Not seeing many other options to the situation, the boy released the chakra holding himself to the underside of the branch. As he fell he rotated his body forward to land on his feet, bending all the way down to a squat to absorb some of the shock. Though it still ended up being uncomfortable for the boy anyways. The actions of which caused the dog held by the Kagemane no Jutsu to spasm slightly and crouch.

Once on the ground the Nara cracked his neck to the right, "There's some rope coiled around the bottom of the outside of my pack. Use it. You didn't bring yours from the Nawanuke?"

"...No actually... I never learned the Nawanuke Jutsu..." Felix moved over slowly behind Rhaim, taking the rope from the boy's pack and unwinding it with his hands smoothly. He coiled it between his hands as he moved back over to the dog, kneeling down and beginning to tie its limbs slowly.
"...Our teacher was gone most of the time... and I sort of finished the necessaries to graduate within an hour or so... teaching myself pretty much everything I know from the syllabus."
Felix shrugged, working away at the rope. "...Figured I could learn anything outside of the class, that I could learn inside of the class.. and more at that point."

Rhaim didn't quite release the Kagemane no Jutsu as the boy started tying up the dog. He had forgotten about the modified Genin requirements from the Academy until Felix explained the situation. With that bit of information he thought it wise to not trust the first attempt of a boy using rope for binding for his first time. While he hadn't seen any of the conflict between the two, the sight of Felix running from the dog led him to believe that he shouldn't take it lightly. The teen shrugged his shoulders as the other boy finished his work, "Eh. I don't know if out here is the best place to still be learning. But it is war and numbers matter I guess."

He examined the rope job briefly before speaking again, "Tie that slack up around it's hind legs and tail together."

"...Well... Numbers don't 'always' matter... Depending on the situation." Felix shrugged, it was funny almost at how quickly he had slipped back into casual conversation. "...But at any rate I'm happy be be a Genin now, and hopefully I wont be so weak for very much longer now."
Felix nodded at Rhaim and continued working at the rope due to the other Genin's instructions.
"...Its a good thing you were nearby though... there is definitely something different about these dogs..." He went on to explain to the other boy how the dog had strangely 'licked' chakra from him... from what he could feel at least in his wounds when the creature had latched on at some points.

Felix sat back and viewed his tying job, and was not really too impressed with it. Considering how strong this dog had been he definitely wanted to make sure that it was tied strongly... And so he worked on it here and there just a little bit more. Strengthening the knot here, and tightening it there... once again around the hind legs and tail, and then once again around the fore paws, just for good measure. Through in a double knot here, and in another slip knot there, pressing a rope here, and pulling one there... even bracing his foot against the dog at one point to tug it as taught as possible.
He then finally sat back, a little more satisfied with his rope job, and nodded at Rhaim.

Rhaim was finally satisfied enough with the rope tying job that he released the Kagemane no Jutsu when Felix finished up his last couple tightenings. With his hands still in his pockets the boy stood up and began walking around the dog to examine it. The teen ignored the words for the boy about himself and only gave attention to the report on what the dog had done. As he moved about it, the dog started writhing around on the ground trying to break free of the bonds. Even though it was clearly tied well enough the Nara couldn't look at it as easily and so the boy placed one foot on the animals head, resting his weight on it.

After a couple uncomfortable minutes for the dog, the Genin raised his head up at Felix without moving his foot. He shrugged, "It looks like a regular dog to me. I don't know a whole lot about animals though. It can obviously use its' own chakra. And looking at your pants I'd say outside chakra makes it sick. But yeah, normal wild dog."

Felix nodded his head, listening to Rhaim speak about the dog in general... "...Yea... but isn't that just a little unnatural for the dog to be able to use its own Chakra?" He didn't know much about animal's making use of their chakra... but he knew how complicated it was for a human to use it, and he had heard somewhere that only powerful summoned creatures could actually use their chakra effectively. Either that or a very well trained pet at the least... like... out the wazoo trained.
"...Do you think it could be a summon... or someone is using them to infiltrate the forest?" Felix asked, since that was the main goal to discover anyways at this point.
"...What should we do with it now?" He wondered if Rhaim planned on killing it, or if they would end up taking it back to the village with them.

Rhaim maintained his weight down on the dog with his foot pressed onto its' head. He looked over the animal more as the younger boy continued to voice his concerns over it and how they should handle it. The dog was clearly unhappy with the situation as it still struggled slightly, though more for show given the pain on its' skull. The teen finally sighed and spoke with his gaze still on the dog, "Eh, the Forest uses alot of Fuuin for the defenses so maybe that has to do with why it can use chakra so well. I guess getting at least one of them to the village so a Yamanaka and an Inuzuka can look at it would be a good idea."

The only problem with the idea of bringing the dog back was how, as far as he could tell. It wasn't so large that he couldn't carry it with the Shunshin no Jutsu except for the writhing it was certain to do. The Nara gave a short shrug before suddenly lifting his foot from the creatures' face and then kicking it swiftly in the jaw. Without pausing at the end of the kick he brought the heel back across the top of its' head, followed by another quick punt to its' jaw. As if nothing had occurred he lifted his sight to Felix at last, "I'll run it back to the village and you try to find another one. Maybe they're not all as aggressive as this one. Alright?"

"...Aggressive?" Felix cocked an eyebrow. "...Alright... so I will see if I can round another one up then, only nicely this time." A small sweat drop formed from his nervousness, and he nodded resolutely at Rhaim.
Felix scanned about the leaves of the forest floor for a little bit, before finding his dropped Kunai and replacing it in his weapons pouch with care. It seemed a little too easy how Rhaim had just knocked the dog out, but the boy drew a small sense of satisfaction from the brutality... even if somewhere in his soft heart he hurt for the misunderstood dog.
Felix watched as Rhaim left the area... with a faint "..Hurry back..." in his tone of voice, that was not meant to be heard as he turned around, scanning the forest anew.

Rhaim took Felixs' nod as a sign of confirmation that it was okay for him to take off. The boy hoisted the animal onto his back in a manner that did not make him seem very strong and shot straight up into the leaves of the trees before heading out to the village.

Meanwhile the new Genins' search proved to be almost too easy. Not far from the scene of the fight with the last dog there was a clearly younger black mutt sniffing about the ground. Despite the fact that it seemed very focused it was not at all aware of the nearby human. Nor was it in any way quiet as it darted about the trees and bushes looking as if it had lost something. The animal was moving steadily in the direction of Felix with its' nose buried in the earth. Sounds of dogs in the distance could still be heard.
