[2nd Division, Nu's Office]

Tsukiko quirked the edge of her mouth as she was touched on the shoulder; she wasn't exactly in the mood to be touched. However, she said nothing as it was not the time to be concerned with such trivial matters. Certainly, there was something far more pressing to deal with, and that was the safety of her sister over everything. As soon as Hideki was out of sight, Tsukiko turned and headed back into Nu's office where she approached her sister's crib. It was clear to her that Nu was busy with talking to Sakura, so she would just take Senka to their mother's room by herself; it was not as though she was unable to handle such a responsibility. She had apparently done it before back in her robotic body, and even though she was smaller, she still had the strength and balance necessary to carry Senka. Faced with the problematic crib once more, Tsukiko took a more analytical approach to it, seeing as the locks to crib's side were just out of her reach. She quickly looked around the room, taking in literally everything within as she calculated each angle of each object in the room and began to do several, scholar-level calculations in her head in an instant. In under three seconds, she turned away from the crib and walked over to Nu's desk where she took her computer mouse, flipped it over and removed the ball, discarding the mouse shortly after. Then, without wasting a second, she situated it at the end of her thumb added a field of gravity to it, then flicked it across the room to a spot just above Sakura's head where it struck, and then began ricocheting of the walls, counters, cabinets, ceiling and floor before it struck the first lock on the right side of the crib, opening it. It bounced off and repeatedly struck many objects before finally slamming into the second lock, effectively causing the side of the crib to slide down, opening it up for Tsukiko to get to Senka. Meanwhile, the ball finished making it's rounds as it hit the ceiling, then plopped directly into her open hand. Catching it nonchalantly, she tossed the ball over her shoulder as it mattered not to her anymore, and then padded over to the crib, quickly removing her baby sister from it and cradling her as she walked towards the door, simply bidding Nu and Sakura goodbye with a smug grin.

[En route - 2nd Division to 4th Division]

The trip to the hospital did not alert Tsukiko to the Space-Time anomalies, as her route did not allow for it due to sheer coincidence. After leaving Nu's office, she made her way through the forest area, passing by the barracks and the Maggot's Nest where her father was being kept without so much as seeing a single creature. In fact, the absence of such things caused her to slow down and stop in front of it, heavily considering the idea of fighting her way inside. However, she wouldn't get that far in with Senka, so she eventually gave up on the idea and held back her unsettled feelings as she continued towards the wall surrounding the 2nd, and hopped over it with virtual ease. Upon landing on the other side, she found herself surrounded by six creatures that had just come from swiping the building between the 9th Division's editing room and barracks; she was unaware of the missing building, however. Tsukiko narrowed her eyes, her mood becoming fouler by the second as she watched them spot and then move towards her in offensive mode. She couldn't very well use Kido with her hands preoccupied, but luckily for her, her Zanpakuto was still in it's Shikai state. "Shinra Tensei." Instantly a spherical-shaped, dark green field of gravity appeared around her body and began to expand outward, going so far as to press the ground beneath her into a sizable crater as it did so. They were flung aside like rag dolls, and once the field had disappeared, it was evident that it had taken out a sizable portion of the wall next to the 4th Division training grounds, the wall opposite the street from that wall, and large chunks of the buildings within it's range. It was almost as though a sizable, spherical chunk of the area had been taken away by Hei's powers, but upon closer inspection one would see that he missing chunks of landmarks had been pushed away. Exhaling an annoyed sigh, she continued her journey, making inside the hospital after Hideki did due to her leaving later

[4th Division, en route to 1st Divison]

Once there, she found her mother's room and handed Senka to a nurse who used her almighty height to place Senka in the playpen next to Amane. Figuring she may as well say hi to her mother now that she finally had the chance, Tsukiko climbed into the chair next to the bed and sat up in it, looming over her mother while the nurse watched her out of the corner of her eye. "Mommy... please wake up..." That was all she could manage; her childish mind thought that if she asked her to, she'd wake up, but the part of her that knew what Uranometria did to the caster knew she wasn't going to wake up any time soon without a technology or medicine she was currently unable to create or synthesize. After planting a small peck on her mother's cheek, Tsukiko slipped out of the chair and left the room as well as the hospital, then basically began to wander towards the 12th Division while in a daze. She wanted to go research her tendril, but wasn't entirely sure now was the right time to do so. Thus, she was somewhat in a daze when they found her; the few Shinigami who had witnessed the formation of the window to Hueco Mudno. Catching up with her, they caught their breath as she turned to look at them. "Ara?" She pulled a curious look, then swiveled her whole body around to meet them, standing on her tiptoes over the one that was on his knees. She kept a finger to her bottom lip, looking down upon him for the moment, her mood having switched up as per usual. "Fukutaichō-sama..." He began; she recognized him, at the very least, as being part of the 12th Division, one who was barely responsible for anything and didn't yet have the privilege of a lab coat. He was a grunt, as it were. "Fukutaichō-sama. The hole... First Division, Menos Forest." He collapsed just after, she could see now that he sustained damage from one of the creatures exploding on him, and it looked like he had been up and about with that injury for a while now. To be able to do that required some degree of endurance, at least on par with a seated Shinigami; perhaps he wasn't as suited to grunt work as she had previously thought. Tsukiko poked him with her foot, and upon sensing he wasn't going to get up, she looked at the others for confirmation. "Hakase-fukutaichō, there's a window near the 1st Division, and, well, it's basically broadcasting what appears to be the Menos Forest. Although I'm not too sure what that means..."

[En route, 1st Division to 12th Division

Rolling her head in the direction of the 1st Division, Tsukiko turned and began to approach the area, but didn't get very far before she was found and stopped by Hideki. She blinked, taking in his explanation of things and then reached into her pocket to retrieve a cell-phone-like device that she put to the side of her face even while he was still talking to her. She even turned away towards the end of it and began speaking into the phone; it was rude of her for sure, but the thing was Tsukiko no longer had any patience, and although her deadpan expression and monotone voice did not show it, she was very much interested in the situation now. "Moshi moshi... Arere... Yes, send the Fringe Team this way, I need a full scan of the area down by the 1st Division. Mmm, no. They can do it themselves, I'll be heading that direction anyway so I can't help. Don't argue with me." Snapping the phone shut, she stashed it back inside her robe and moved herself behind Hideki, pushing him in the direction of the 12th Division without so much as an explanation. "Mush, doggy." In an instant, she propelled the both of them down the street quite a way by using Shukuchi to move herself, and her strength to move Hideki along with her. They arrived there, and she turned him towards the laboratory where she began to explain herself, still keeping her monotone voice. However, her eyes went black and the purple tendril wormed its way out of her sleeve and snaked around his body before snaking inside his pocket and severing itself from her body. The remaining tendril that was connected to her turned white and retracted back into her arm as her eyes returned to normal. "In that wormy you will find everything you need to know about those thingies. I trust you still remember how to research things?" She didn't wait to hear his explanation, only continued to push him towards the labs. Once they got there, she stopped, released him, and then opened the main door before disappearing inside, expecting him to follow suit.

[Arcane Science Research and Development Laboratory, Underground Sector for Fringe Sciences]

Once inside, she traversed the large building, quickly making her way to an unmarked door towards the back end of the labs themselves. She entered it, then lead Hideki through several security checkpoints, the majority of which needed biological samples including her hair and finger print, a retinal scan, a sample of her Reiryoku, and a certain checkpoint that would deactivate illusions or transformations. After that, it was a clear shot to a titanium steel door that she stopped at before opening. "Understand that anything you see beyond this door never leaves this room unless I say so. Okay?" Opening it, she was instantly struck by the cooled air of the room. She could hear the machines buzzing and was opened to the sight of several top scientists moving about the grand laboratory. As she stepped down the steps in front of her, a white-haired women walked by, clearly in danger of crashing into her. Tsukiko ignored her, however, and literally walked through her; she was actually a soul of a Shinigami being projected astrally into the air. Many things were happening around her, a man was hung in mid air, caught in suspended animation inside a cylindrical chamber that had it's front open, while a female human-bird hybrid was being studied at a table, among other things. Tsukiko slipped past everything, heading to the back of the lab where there was still some clean-up going on after her temper tantrum; her table had been righted, but the micro supernova chamber was still being cleaned up and fixed. There, she tapped on a screen, projecting yet another interactive hologram, this one being a three-dimensional model of the space-time continuum. Tsukiko stopped and stood there, motionless, with her right hand at her cheek and her left hand across her stomach, holding her right elbow in place. For now, all she could do was study the model and adjust it with numerous equations involving time, space, and light-like intervals. She figured Hideki would find a place to work, so she left him alone for now.

[No clue how I managed to take a vague idea of what she was going to do and turn it into a 1900+ word post, but I did. Sorry for the length.]

[1st Division – Courtyard]
Hideki was quite surprised to bump into Tsukiko on his way to find her. A rather good strike of coincidental happening, he would figure. He was even more surprised when she took out a phone in his explanation. It was as if she wanted to emanate her father; Hideki figured that would be something he would do in the given situation. Hideki simply went with it and let her do as she pleased, it was not really his place to demand anything more of the small child. As she moved past him, Hideki attempted to follow by craning his neck, but then he felt her small hands on his back and the words ‘mush, doggie’. With that he was pushed to wherever it was that she wanted him to go. He could not, however, be pushed without laughing slightly at the way she went about the entire thing, which was incredibly comical.

[12th Division]
When they arrived at the 12th Division, Tsukiko’s arm produced something that actually was disturbing to see. A tentacle slithered its way out from under her sleeve and moved its way around his own body before displacing itself into one of his pockets, which then felt incredibly odd. Hideki gave her a twisted look of confusion as to what the hell had just happened, and why she had a ‘wormy’ coming from her arm, but being that he had not seen her eyes during the entire endeavor, he just took it as it was: a research sample. Her question, however, Hideki found silly. Of course he knew how, he was still a researcher at heart. One does not lose that type of thing. Still, they continued to be pushed forward until they came to the labs, which he still pseudo-recognized from when he was the fukutaichō. When they did stop, Tsukiko continued on toward the main door, obviously wanting him to follow, which he did. He held his hands in his pockets, one of which had the ‘wormy’, which he held in his hand as he walked.

He was led to the back of the labs to another door, which only led to a series of serious checkpoints, that, Hideki assumed, only she and Hei, and maybe Yuki, could access. This probably had something to do with the ‘Fringe team’ Tsukiko had spoke of back by the 1st Division. As they made their way through these checkpoints, Hideki took from a Haori pocket, a mid-sized strawberry flavored lollipop, unwrapped it, and popped it in him mouth. He slipped the wrapper back into the pocket the lollipop came from and returned his hand to its own pocket afterwards. It was around that time that they came to the large titanium steel door, in front of which Tsukiko stopped and made a statement of secrecy. Hideki simply nodded at her and moved his lollipop from one side of his mouth to the other. When the doors were opened a cool air rushed towards them, almost as if they were in an air lock as it released, and it felt kind of nice, but Hideki ignored the nice feeling and walked in. He was surprised to see the amount of activity going on behind the doors. There was an entire team that he had not ever known about, if it was not a recent addition, which he assumed it was.

Hideki was unsure as to where to set up, but he followed Tsukiko to the back and spotted an area that was free of people. He moved over to the steel table top that held nothing but a few sheets of paper and gathered them to a stack then moved them. Hideki then called a nearby worker over and asked them to procure him with the following supplies: two scalpels, a probe, a few pinning needles, a chair, a bundle of neural cabling, and a case of neural probes. The worker seemed perplexed as to why Hideki needed such things, but with a look of hastiness, the man took off and returned a few minutes later with a chair and a box full of everything he needed. Hideki laid out everything onto the table in an orderly fashion, first assembling the neural cording and probes. He judged how far from the table he’d be and made the length of cord appropriate before taking the probes and soldered them together to insure the electric transfer would be able to happen. Hideki did this for both ends of the cord. After the task was complete, he placed the cord aside and took from his pocket, the ‘wormy’.

Hideki laid it lengthwise on the table, and took the scalpel from beside it. With a steady hand, Hideki placed the tip of it on the ‘head’ end of the creature and gently slid the instrument down the midline of its body. Using the metal probe, Hideki slipped its skin off of it, and pinned it back so he could see he inside. He surprised that it consisted of a few muscles to make it move but its entire mass was mostly gray and white matter that was akin to a brain. Hideki smirked to find that Tsukiko had stored information in it this way; him only figuring this out by it actually being gray and white matter and by what she said. Pulling the chair up, Hideki sat in it and placed four of the neural probes into the ‘wormy’, all down the midline, and then put four into the sides, two into the frontal lobes and two into the posterior lobes. Upon doing this he called another worker over and asked him a daring question, to open Hideki’s skull.

The worker gave him a distorted look but nodded and grabbed a standing contraption that would cut his skull open easily. The worker brought it and numbed the area before using the machine to cut Hideki’s head open to reveal his brain. Hideki instructed him to take the other end of the probes and place them in the same positions as they were placed. Being that there are no nerve endings that sense anything in gray and white matter, Hideki felt nothing as the probes were set. After the man was done, Hideki asked that he provide a small electrical charge to the specimen’s brain to initiate the synaptic transfer Hideki needed. The man left and came back with a small batter probe and placed it to the brain of the ‘wormy’ which caused an influx of sealed knowledge to flow into Hideki’s brain. The images flew into his mind and were comprehended within the next few minutes before Hideki removed the probes and asked that the man use the regenerative serum to reseal his brain, which of course the man did.

Now knowing what the creatures sought to bring about, Hideki stood from his chair, slightly nauseated, and sat back down, not really expecting that side effect. He was surprised and motioned for some water while he thought about what he knew and what he saw Tsukiko looking at before. “If breaking that barrier is what their after, and they have already begun, we may not have much time before it gets worse. This really isn’t a good situation at all. Especially with what they plan on becoming…” Hideki now only held a stick in his mouth, the leftovers of his small candy and when the water came, he removed it and set it aside before sipping the water slowly.

[Arcane Science Research and Development Laboratory, Underground Sector for Fringe Sciences]

By the time a few minutes had passed by, Tsukiko had pulled the ribbons from her hair, letting the twin ponytails fall from place and be free. Truth be told, she was a little tired of being up and about, and was quickly losing interest in the task at hand, a direct result of her developmental disorder. However, she tried to remain still and at the very least attempted to make progress with what she was doing, but it was fairly obvious that she was growing increasingly fidgety by the minute. Finally, after eight or so minutes had gone by, the girl let out a short-lived groan of frustration while mussing up her hair with both hands and tipping over, falling flat on her back, which was a rather amusing spectacle in itself. It took no time for someone to approach her to see if she was alright and ask her so, to which she responded by staring up at the ceiling with a blank look and waving the scientist towards her office. "My book..." This was all she muttered to him before she rose to her feet like a zombie and somehow managed to move herself towards a table, which she cleared a spot on by putting things on the ground. Climbing into the chair, she waited impatiently for the scientist to return with her book, which just so happened to be a coloring book, along with an assortment of colored pencils. Tsukiko's face lit up, she was quite pleased when it was suddenly presented to her, almost as if she had no idea it was coming.

The young girl wasted no time in opening the book, finding a picture of an apple orchard, grabbing the red pencil, and going to town on the picture. It became clear shortly after that she was drooling over the picture, which was understandable in itself considering the attraction she had of apples; they were her most favorite food. A few minutes later and she was snacking while coloring and swinging her legs beneath her, seemingly in a good mood. A certain scientist, one who only recently got the permission to come in here, was watching her more than he was paying attention to the resonance weapon at his table. His partner caught him doing so, and giving his chest a poke with the end of his pen, urged him to pay attention. "Oi, you shouldn't stare at her." The new guy glanced back, confusion filling his face. "Is she always like that? I knew Fukutaichō-sama was eccentric, but I never thought she'd do that in the middle of work time." His partner shrugged his response. "Just leave her be. If the most brilliant mind in the Seireitei wants a break to color, then I say give it to her. She's responsible for most of these breakthroughs; she's even smarter than Hakase-taichō, you know." The new guy raised his eyebrow, his subsequent silence was music to Tsukiko's ears, who had heard the whole conversation but had chosen not to say anything in regards to it. Instead, she finished up her coloring, adding the last bit of blue to the sky before happily proclaiming that she was done. "Finished~!" She said in her sing-song tone, waving the book in the new guy's direction, picking him to tease out of all the others. When he didn't move and instead stared at her in confusion, she puffed her cheeks full of air and scrunched up her face. "Take it from her..." His partner nudge him with his elbow, and the new guy stumbled forward, nervously taking the book from her. He saw the completed picture, and in it's own right, it was pretty good, he thought, for a nine-year-old at least.

"It looks... great." Her expression changed instantly, she was beaming a half second later as she moved to clutch his legs just below his butt, and bury her face in his stomach while she hugged him tightly. "Arigato gozaimasu, ojii-san~" With that, she skipped back to the area with the interactive hologram, leaving the new guy staring in disbelief and holding the coloring book while his colleagues strained to keep their laughter inside. Her demeanor shifted quickly, fading from the happy-go-lucky attitude she had while coloring, and becoming more serious, which was appropriate to say the least. The Fringe Team were sending the results of their scan over to her, and she was astonished by what she was seeing. It was like that hole was some kind of inter-dimensional window. She quickly input some new variables and then ran a simulation, watching as the model on the screen spouted a blob-ish hole in it's center, which made the green lines (signifying the Soul Society) near it start to bend and shape themselves around it, showing how Space-Time would effectively start to bend around this hole. But, that didn't seem right in this case, so she erased the anomaly and tried something different, this time making it so that the hole wasn't a window, but instead a wormhole to Hueco Mundo itself, and added an extra instance of Space-Time, one to represent Hueco Mundo, which she moved off to the side and. She then duplicated the hole and it's parameters, inverted it, and then place it in the Hueco Mundo model. She had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen once she hit the simulation button, and was not proven wrong when she did. She watched in horror as the green lines near the hole began to pull inside it the hole, quickly being replaced by blue lines that were overlapping them. Her eyes flicked to the other model, the same was occurring, although the colors were reversed. Tsukiko stood motionless, her eyes as wide as saucers as she stared in disbelief at the merging of the two worlds that was happening before her very eyes; a horrific event, and she had no way to stop it.

~1,898~

[Middle of the Desert- Hueco Mundo]
Fuyu stood in the middle of the desolate sands of Hueco Mundo, which had now been his home for a great many years. Though the sands were rather lonely Fuyu had come to know them quite well and didn’t care all that much for the loneliness now, though since the falling of the Sephira he did wish there were more to talk to than the mindless hollow that wondered around. They weren’t even any fun to fight anymore since his level of strength had grown from the time he became a Shinigami, and even since he had became a member of the Sephira. Thinking back to attaining his new strength he gave a silent thank you to the man who had once been their leader, but was now dead.

Though he had gained his new power quite some time ago and had been training with it for a great deal of time he still had a long way to go to mastering this power and he trained tirelessly every day towards a greater mastery of his powers. Over the time, he was slowly gaining a greater mastery of the powers, but it was still slow at best and it was tiresome to Fuyu to not be gaining the mastery he wanted at the rate that he wanted to gain it. He sighed as he leaned back and looked towards the desolate sky. A sigh escaped his lips as even today when the loneliness didn’t affect him it was starting to get to him, he wanted someone to train with or a worthwhile opponent, something or anything to occupy his time for a little bit and give him a little fun.

Though it seemed like nothing like that would be happening today, he placed his right hand back on the ground and pushed himself upwards off the sand, returning to a standing position. With a snap of his fingers a black aura was produced at the point where they clicked and then a black burst of aura formed around his face. Instantly a mask formed on his face. As soon as the mask formed hollow began to rise out of the sand, at first only a couple appeared, but quickly the numbers began to multiply. As more and more rose out of the sand, even more began to appear from places unknown, and frankly uncared about by Fuyu. Soon the hollow numbered in the hundreds, and were multiplying by the minute, rapidly growing to thousands. Beneath the mask Fuyu grinned as an orb of black energy began to form in his left hand. He wrapped his fingers loosely around the orb as he raised his arm directly in front of him. “Relámpago Oscuro Cero” The orb of cero like energy had Hadō #11: Tsuzuri Raiden and Hadō #90: Kurohitsugi focused into it, giving the orb a high level of destructive power. In addition the orb seemed to be attracting even more hollow to the power source. “This will be fun.” Fuyu chuckled; sounding extremely wicked from the combination of his voice resonating with his inner hollows. Suddenly a lone hollow decided to make the first move, leaping towards Fuyu. Without so much as moving his eyes to look at the hollow he brought his right hand and struck it in the face with an open palm strike, instantly destroying its mask and causing the hollow to be destroyed. At this the rest of the hollow jumped Fuyu in a complete circle around him, all focused on him.

Fuyu disappeared instantly from the spot with a soft sound of static, he was suddenly a hundred feet above them with the orb in his left hand aimed down at them. “Die.” The beam erupted from his hand and crashed down into the sand in the center of the hollow. Upon connecting with the ground there was a huge explosion, instantly vaporizing almost half of the hollow who had been summoned to Fuyu’s high level of power. As the explosion cleared Fuyu landed on the ground once more. The circle of hollow surrounding him had been greatly pushed back by the blast however a few thousand still remained and he hoped more would show up. “Bakudō #62: Hyapporankan, Hadō #11: Tsuzuri Raiden.” As Fuyu called out the name of these two Kidō he outstretched his right arm as a hexagonal staff formed and he grabbed hold of it as a torrent of electricity began to flow through it. He smirked underneath the mask as he once more shot forwards with a soft static sound. He appeared in front of the hollow crouched down, with the staff resting on his shoulder. He quickly swung the staff forward and then down, smashing into one of the hollows heads and crushing their mask, he then began to stand up as he swung the staff in a circle over his head, smashing in the masks of three to four more hollow. As he stood up he swung around so his back was facing the hollow he had just been attacking and extended the staff under his arm back into the mask of yet another hollow. Fuyu then disappeared again with the soft static sound, the sound gradually grew louder as hollow began to gain hexagonal burn marks in their mask before being completely obliterated. The static sound grew even louder, coming to unbearable levels even for the hollow, which were raising their arms to their heads to try and block out the noise. Fuyu then suddenly appeared back in the spot where he had original began his assault as the entire group of hollow around him instantly turned to dust, the entire group being destroyed.

He sighed once more at the lack of a challenge the little training session had brought him. He had hardly even used his mask for any amount of time and hadn’t even needed it. With a snap of his fingers a white burst of energy formed at the point where his fingers clicked together and his mask disappeared, his eyes returning to normal once more. “What I wouldn’t give to actually be presented a challenge for once.” He sighed yet again and sat back down on the sand, extremely disappointed with the turnout of hollow.

As he sat back in his spot he noticed a weird feeling behind him, however he couldn’t make heads or tails of what it was. He sat for a minute, not diverting his attention from the sky above him, trying to make out what the presence was without his eyes. Though he felt that it was something he had never seen before. He completely laid back, so that he was looking up towards whatever he had felt behind him and was extremely surprised at what was before him. It looked like a portal to the Soul Society, though Fuyu found this to be impossible, because even when opening a garganta or senkimon you could never directly see your destination like what was being seen here. Furthermore what he appeared to be seeing was the area near the Captain Commanders quarters, which surprised Fuyu that he still recognized, since he had been gone for so long, though he didn’t know who the Captain Commander was. The appearance of this what appeared to be a portal intrigued Fuyu, though he didn’t trust it to be what it appeared to be. Rather than trying to go through the portal as any normal idiot would have done Fuyu pulled out his Wakizishi which held no connection to his Zanpakutou. He then took the scabbard off of his belt and threw it towards the portal. Instantly upon connecting with the “portal” the scabbard was destroyed. Fuyu then carefully placed the sword back within his belt making sure not to accidentally slice the cloth and then render the thing useless.

The appearance and nature of the portal greatly intrigued Fuyu, he could tell it wasn’t something the Shinigami had done, and that apparently it was an accident, or perhaps the result of an attack upon them. However all of this was merely speculation for him at the moment and didn’t really matter to him, he wanted to know the truth behind the occurrence. With a sigh he rolled over to his stomach and pushed himself off of the ground, returning to a standing position. The only way he was likely to find the true cause of this portal was to return to Soul Society, but he knew returning there would mean one of two things, he would either end up fighting the Shinigami or fighting alongside them to help them against whatever threat was there, if it was in fact the cause of the window.
Fuyu placed his right hand onto the handle of his katana and withdrew it from its sheath, as he did this he thrust it straight forward as it disappeared into thin air, with a twist of his wrist he turned the sword and a pair of gates opened. He hadn’t been to the Soul Society in a long time and he wasn’t looking too forward to the reunion with the Shinigami, but he was curious and wanted to find out the cause of the mirror and was willing to do what he had to do to find out the true cause of it. With one final sigh he stepped into the gates and was on his way to the Soul Society once more.

[Near Yukis Quarters – 1st Division]

Fuyu exited the gates, standing in Soul Society. He was near the mirror which he had been looking through from the desert he had just been standing in seconds ago. As soon as the gate closed behind him the first thing he noticed was that there were these odd creatures running throughout the Soul Society, the greatly resembled hollows. However Fuyu was instantly able to tell a difference in them, they also didn’t feel like Shinigami, or any other creature Fuyu had ever encountered. Fuyu still had the staff that he had been holding onto earlier though he just once more realized that he still had it. Fuyu instantly released the stabilization of it, causing it to once more becoming a binding spell. He then began to walk towards one of the creatures that appeared to be completely alone. With the staff once more holding its binding properties as well as the electricity Fuyu thrust it through the creature’s throat aimed to where it would pass through the creature’s spinal column if it in fact had one. The electricity was not only passed through the body of the weird looking creature but also directly into is spine, which meant directly into its brain. Fuyu then walked the creature backwards and pinned it to the wall with the staff. “I don’t know what you are and I’m betting that you can’t talk to answer any of my questions so there isn’t much a point in my asking. But I guess I’ll try anyway. Just what the hell are you? If you can’t or don’t answer I’ll simply leave you here to eventually be fried.” After a minute of the creature not answering Fuyu simply turned and walked away from the creature. He didn’t have any destination in mind, however he figured the best place to get some answers would to be the 12th division.

[1st Division, building next to Yuki's Quarters]

After leaving the kitchen, was walking past an empty office room when something caught her attention in the window on the opposite wall. Like most people who caught things out of the corner of their eye while walking, she didn't stop instantly, and had to take a step back before entering. Emi quickly made her way to the opposite wall, swerving around the desk and chair set that was located just in front of it; notably, the office was otherwise bare, not even having shades on the window. Peering out, she caught the tail end of the phenomena that had caught her eye; the disappearance of a building. At first she wasn't entirely sure what to make of it all, especially since she was so ignorant to the ways of the Shinigami. It was entirely possible that this was their way of clearing away unused buildings. However, that seemed improbable, and looked like a good thing to go check out. As she turned away, she caught sight of the window to Hueco Mundo taking form, but from here she couldn't even tell what she was looking at, especially not in the dark. Making haste, Emiya moved back to the office's door and turned off the light, then approached the window once more and Fullbrought the pane of glass, making it zoom in on the "window" down below. What she saw made her blood run cold; from the angle she was looking at, she could see the tops of the heads of multiple Gillian who were in the process of cannibalizing each other.

The thumping her chest quickened to signify she was getting worked up, but she ignored it; all Emi could think about was killing any and all Hollow no matter what. "Getting hotheaded won't solve anything, Em." The voice of her fiancée, Kuzumi's voice, rang in her ears; she turned to look, expecting to see him, but no one was there. It was some lingering recollection she had about something he had said once when a classmate had infuriated her. Somehow, she managed to turn the chair around after fumbling with it behind her for a few seconds, and then sank into it as she tried to calm herself. "Now I'm delusional too, great..." Over the course of the next several minutes, she managed to calm herself down after taking a sip of water from the bottle. Sure, it might have been taking away from her supply, but her emotions were more important. Emi finally stood up, glancing out the window long after Hideki had left to find Tsukiko, and she looked down to see someone or something harassing one of the creatures. That alone would have been enough to make him on their side in her mind, but even from here she could tell he wasn't... right. The same kind of 'not right' feeling she got when in the same room with Hei, after he had pulled himself from his depression. It was certainly suspicious. Returning the glass to normal with her ability, Emi turned away from the window, fading out of sight as she Fullbrought her body to go invisible, and then erased the sounds from her body with a similar technique. She made her way down the hallways and was outside relatively quickly, and jumped down from the height she was at to the ground below, starting to tail this person. As it were, she was more or less useless when it came to binding, so her skills were more useful tailing a suspicious person.

[2nd Division Barracks, Captain's Office]

It wasn't exactly a bother to her, but Nu was begining to wonder why everyone has started to pay more attention to Nu's office these days. Not fully used to Division Eight's Captain abilities, yet not so rusty as not to pick up a prescence, Nu was managed to maintain a cool face as the girl suddenly appeared. Just as soon as she appeared, Tsukiko, already finishing her dinner the the zeal of a startving man, had begun to leave before she got face to face with the creature. Like Sakura, Nu had no worries over the girl and matched her gaze with her as she continued talking. It seems her and Hideki's description on the creature matched, but now it only infuriated instead of releived. "So there's no real point in fighting these suicidal beasts if all they are going to do is heal and divide...." She was more talking to Sakura then Hideki, who she bid farewell to as he left to tend to his subordinates. While she continued to converse with Sakura, she couldn't fail but notice the return of Hideki, who engaed in a small chat with Tsukiko before the girl turned and went back inside. Judging by the sentinel like gaze in her eye, she was up to something complicated, and it was only until she removed the ball portion of her mouse and stared at Senka's crib did she connect the pieces to what, though it was too late.

Before Nu could simply assist her in such an easy task, Tsukiko already sent the ball flying. She knew by now that there was no way Tsukiko would break anything, but still the ball whizzing by their heads was a bit alarming. So, all she could do so she wouldn't accidently get caught in the crossfire was stand and watch as Tsukiko accomplsihed her goal: Open the locks to Senka's crib. Watching as the young captain leaves with her sister, Nu ruses to her door, her hands cupped. "Tsukiko-san! You be careful!" Half of her wanted to tail her to make sure she would be safe, but the other half was realizing that she might being overconcerned, seeing as how she was an equal rank as herself. Still, as she had risen up to fret about Tsukiko, she suddenly remembered about Lee, and her newest objective was to run to him, wherever he was. Turning to Sakura, her only reply was a sigh. "I'm off to see just how bad this is becoming for myself, you can do whatever you wish." And with that she runs out the entrance to her office, her destination: Lee's office. On her way, she couldn't help but notice a few of the creatures in question and, with some level of curiosity, watched as they indeed exploded when they drew near her, only to come back with another one. Even odder then that was a few craters she passed, where it appeared that the building simply vanished. This only spurred Nu faster to Lee, hoping he didn't "vanish" like the buildings.

Hideki was still quite nauseous when he looked up to find that there had been quite the commotion while he was working off to the side. It was an almost simplistic humor that a child blessed with such capabilities as understanding the effects of gravity and the likes, would be so inclined to suffer from ADHD and be prone to such childish behavior. Hideki did, however, completely understand that the small girl was only 9 and it was only appropriate for such things to happen. After lulling down from his nausea, Hideki lifted his class of water and shined the remaining bit left before tossing the cup backwards and swallowing. When Hideki went to stand, his head pulsed with a sharp pain around his skull, where the cuts had once been. He grabbed his head lightly as the man near him placed his hand on the small of his back to support Hideki up. “Hideki-sama, please. Take it easy, it is no time to rush off. You just opened your sku-” Hideki held a hand up to the man, stopping his sentence’s advance. “This is not the time to worry about me. Bring me some of Hei’s pain serum. I know he has some. I will be fine.

The man nodded and sighed as he left Hideki’s side to attain yet another drug for him. When he returned a short while after, he held in his hand the serum Hideki wanted and a slightly pained look on his face, as if he was perplexed as to why Hideki was so pent on ignoring such things as splitting his head, which in all entirety he was. To digress, he lifted the small syringe to Hideki and quickly returned to whatever work it was he had to do. Hideki took the small syringe with a lackadaisical air and brought the needle towards his mouth, which he bit down on, slipped off the plastic safeguard, and then broke the metal from the syringe. He then put the thick liquid directly onto his head, using his forefinger to rub it in all around his heads circumference. As the drug was absorbed, the pain began to vanish, easing Hideki’s over all air about him.

When the pain subsided completely, Hideki looked over to where Tsukiko was and ambled over slowly, still lackadaisical in his movements. He approached from behind, to her left, and placed his right hand softly on her shoulder, taping only slightly before he pulled away and leaned forward next to her, examining the image in front of him. The two colors he saw overlapping into and onto each other were not that hard to figure out. The diagrams were easily distinguished as time-space grids by any standard, but what the nature of them were was incredibly terrifying to Hideki. His eyes glimpsed over to Tsukiko, whom he could also tell was in a small shock at this recent discovery. “Well then…” Breaking the silence, Hideki spoke out in an almost drab sounding voice, “I don’t suppose we can just pop an inter-dimensional cork to stop this movement can we…” Hideki’s comment was bound to not go over well, given the circumstances of its background, but he cared less about how it went over and more on the impending doom that approached. Nudging Tsukiko, Hideki asked a humorous but much needed question, “Little wormy did not give any real insight as to how to stop this. Where would we begin on trying to grasp how to solve this phenomenon?” His questions were simple, but good questions were not always perplexing in any sense.

[Arcane Science Research and Development Laboratory, Underground Sector for Fringe Sciences]

In an instant, the girl's bravado and happy-go-lucky shell fell apart, the news causing her scared child interior to surface as she dropped to her knees, staring at the model with genuine fear in her eyes. "Nothing..." She said in mostly monotone, although a hint of sadness could be heard in her voice. Hideki had asked her how they would go about solving it, and for the first time, she didn't have an answer because she was so paralyzed with fear that she couldn't even think straight. Finally, it seemed, the absence of her parents was going to take control; it had formerly been an emotional time bomb, growing ever so quickly within her mind until it was ripe and ready to explode. All of her depression beforehand was but a mere precursor to the main event. "Nothing, I... can't do... anything..... anything right." 'Failure,' 'useless,' such thoughts began to swell up inside her little head, convincing her that there was nothing she could do, she didn't even start to try and rationalize the situation any more; she was no longer the most brilliant mind in the Seireitei, she was but a mere child. She fell quiet, the emotions inside her causing her a terrible turmoil that was so great to bear that she finally and completely lost it.

She was on her feet in an instant, her heart giving her directive on what she should do. "Get daddy." It was like she had a broken record playing in her head, the same statement was on infinite repeat, chanting inside her skull until she accepted it as reality. Of course, if she couldn't do it, Hei could. Tsukiko did not try to rationalize that breaking him out would be a serious crime, no, such things were beyond her at the moment. Tsukiko was out the door without so much as a word to anyone, flying past checkpoints without so much as a care and pushing people over in her haste to get out. Her heart was pounding in her chest by the time she reached the ground floor and burst outside, sucking in a large breath of warm, evening air. "Daddy!" Tsukiko's foot hit the ground and she rocketed herself towards the 2nd posthaste, arriving at the Maggot's Nest in record time. Ethics were no longer her consideration; her painful desire to see her father again was her driving force, and was the reason she wasted no time in knocking out the guards with a sleeping gas.

[Nest of Maggots]

She was inside instantly, blowing the door open with repulsion gravity, and moved even quicker once she was inside. It was true she was no faster then the guards, but she already had the element of surprise as well as, already knew the route in which she needed to take, and had her Zanpakuto on her side. It took next to nothing for her to keep moving forward, knocking out those who opposed her with powerful bursts of repulsion gravity in every direction. A slew of stunned bodies and craters in the ground littered her wake as she made her way down to the second floor, ducking into the terminal just outside the main lab where one of her scientists was located as he was in charge of manning the Hollow on this level. "Fukutai-" He didn't even get to finish his sentence before he was out cold with a single blow to his forehead. He slumped over forthwith, and she pushed him to the side so that she could take his place. Tsukiko fervently attacked the computer there with her fingers, entering the password she already knew about and then began to take control of the Hollow roaming this floor via their collars, directing them to be put on standby mode.

Once she was done, she rushed outside in time to see the numerous guards running down the corridor to get her. Tsukiko ignored them, rushing through the door with the blinking light that was ready to be opened, and quickly found herself in a dungeon-like area that was dimly lit and not very inviting to the senses. Without wasting any time, she padded down the corridor, passing a prisoner here and there, and a single Hollow crouched in the corner. After several minutes, she finally reached her father's cell, and grasping the bars that separated her from her father, she broke down upon seeing his face for the first time in a few months.."Daddy! You have to come, the worlds... everything is... breaking... but more importantly I... I miss you!" She pulled at the bars with all her might, she had forgotten to secure the key, but it was no use, she couldn't tear the bars out like she had desperately hoped. "Daddy..." Tears welling in her eyes, she became blind to the multiple jailers that swarmed her in an instant, taking the opportunity of her shouting to grab her by the arms and legs and pin her down. Normally she would have used her abilities to blow them away, but her emotional stress was far too great; she couldn't even pull one of them off her anymore, let alone the six that were dragging her to the stone floor. Not to mention the Sekkiseki walls would prevent her from doing so, but this was not something she was thinking about. "DADDY!" She shouted one last time, her voice full of fear, loneliness, and desperation; tears streamed from her face and she wiggled her hand through the bars at the bottom of the cell, making a last ditch effort to get inside before she succumbed to the men holding her down and began sobbing uncontrollably.

His eyes slowly moved from the diagram in front of him to the small child next to him as her voice lulled out the word ‘nothing…’. When they landed on their final stop, Hideki saw nothing of the Tsukiko everyone was used too. She was not the scientist any longer, for now. No, Hideki simply saw the nine year old child who had the biggest plate of problems in front of her. She was already tried, mentally; her father being in jail and her mother in a coma. It was all just a terrible thing. Hideki was only reassured that the small child was getting overwhelmed when she repeated herself but added that she could not do anything wrong. That is when Hideki’s face turned to one of, almost, sternness. Hideki moved to put his hand upon her shoulder, wanting to reassure her that she needed to calm down, that things were not just hers to burden, that, more than anything, they understood that she was becoming overwhelmed. His hand had just made it to her shoulder, however, when she stood and bolted to the exit.

Tsukiko-san!” Hideki quickly got to his feet and chased after her. He was, ultimately, just behind her, catching the opening of the barriers as they were closing. He saw her stop and take a breath but then bolt off again once they were out into the open. Where the hell are you go-. Hideki’s thoughts were cut short as he continued to press behind her, she had quickened her step. She was approaching the 2nd Division quickly and with that knowledge Hideki pieced together what it was she wanted to do; Tsukiko wanted to see her father. She was unable to figure something out for the merging of the realms, so who better to go to for guidance, to confide too. Hideki’s face turned to a solemn understanding look as he hurried after her, scaling the wall and catching her as she was entering the Maggots Nest, with ease at that. Around this point, Hideki figured he would figure out where she was going by the knocked about bodies and craters that were left from her Zanpakutō.

[Nest of Maggots]

Hideki stepped around the two that were put to sleep at the entrance to the Nest of Maggots, now at a quickened walk. He slowed as he saw the small bit of destruction left by Tsukiko on the way to her father and ambled about the craters, hoping over them when needed. Soon enough, however, Hideki arrived in the same dank, uninviting dungeon that Hei was imprisoned in. Hideki had heard Tsukiko from just outside but now saw that there were multiple Shinigami grabbing at her to hold her down. Hideki livened his step and reached them in record time and with a booming voice yelled at the subordinate Shinigami, “Yamete!! Leave Tsukiko-fukutaichō be. She has made it past you this far. Allow her to at least speak with her father. She is but a child and obviously cannot break him free of his confinement. Allow her to speak with him.” Hideki’s voice intensified in tone, rather than volume, on his last sentence to emphasize that if they did not, he himself would get involved. One Shinigami on duty spoke up, “But Uchiro-taichō! She broke into the Nest of Maggots and physically attacked the guards. She needs to be pu-” Hideki lifted his hand and narrowed his eyes at the man. “She is but a child who is hard pressed to save this entire realm and who has been severed from her father. She is confused and in pain. She may even be lost for now. You will do as I say and you will leave this room this instant.” Hideki motioned his hand to the door and the Shinigami let go of Tsukiko softly and slowly left the room, mumbling under their breath, which was only met with a sharp glare from Hideki. After they left the room, Hideki stepped forward and placed a hand on Tsukiko’s back. “There there. Speak to your father, I’ll wait over here. Konbanwa, Hei-sama.” Hideki stood to his feet and moved over to a wall, resting his back on it and simply watching the surroundings carefully.

Division Four Captain

[4th Division - Sōgō Kyūgo Tsumesho - Inside]

Kougji had been travelling towards the back of the building after hearing a disturbance around level B-4, a level just above him, he being on the C level, he had to investigate, for all he knew a patient was currently under the mercy of one of those creatures. He hurried himself to the stair that lay within a few feet of himself, jumping up along them instead of walking, Kougji made it to the top within a second or two. He rushed down the corridor until he reached the fourth passage of the floor, he was so in tun with the building that just by hearing a sound on entirely different floor, he could pinpoint where the sound was coming from. Opening each door, gently but quickly, he inspected each room, it took him a matter of minuets before he had come to room 209, the thirtieth room he checked, upon opening it, he saw nothing unusual, the room was actually empty, only, something was laying on the floor, before he got a chance to inspect it however, a shadow whisked past him outside the room, he turned to see nothing, rushing back outside he scanned either end of the hall, nothing was present, he stood quiet for a moment to see if anything was amiss, but seeing as he couldn't sense these creatures, even if it was one of them, he would have no idea as to where it might have gone, or where it might be, he decided to leave and get Haru, the protection of his patients was first priority. Kougji hurried down the corridor again and then down to the C level again where Haru was. Kougji came to Haru's room within a few moments, or the room he had left him in for the time being, only around 15 minuets had passed since Kougji leaving him. Hammering the door open as soon as he reached it, he looked at Haru for a short period of time. "Alright, lets get moving, our objective for the time being is to make sure that this building is kept safe, my quick inspection didn't turn up any solid results, however I believe that something may be here, as to what, I'm not sure. So far the lower levels have nothing out of place, we need to give our focus to the higher levels, most of all the Captain Commanders level, she's on A-5 level." Kogji turned. "At this point, I'm not sure what we can do, but until we hear differently we are going to remain where we are, the fourth squads duty lies entirely to those it cares about." He turned his head back towards Haru. "Lets do our best." Kougji didn't intend for the two to separate, so, he waited until Haru was standing and ready to proceed.

Jūnibantai Taichō

[Nest of Maggots, Cell Block G]

It was so boring, and disgusting to boot; it was if it wasn't enough he had to be imprisoned, but also in such deplorable conditions. Hei exhaled a bored sigh and leaned back against the grimy prison wall when a Hollow passed by his cell and finished sniffing the dank air in it. His head hit the cold stone as he gazed across his cell, through his bars, across a corridor, and through another set of bars to where Tetsunosuke's cell was. He had caught the explanation for their proximity to each other; it seemed the 46 was using him to watch Tetsunosuke in case he should reveal secrets in his sleep or during fits of madness. Hei might have turned Hibiki into a Vizard without his consent, but from what he understood, Tetsunosuke had conspired against the Seireitei with the Sephira in order to bring their downfall, and then aided in the death of a Lieutenant. This was a more serious crime, they figured, so they had him on watch, yet still he got no special treatment for his services. Perhaps there was a reduced sentence in it for him, but he hadn't heard anything about it. Nonetheless, he did his job, if only to have something to keep him occupied during the day.

By his count, it was nearing 10 in the evening, and there was something that just didn't feel right to him. He couldn't exactly feel any spiritual anomalies given the walls in this prison, but something was still odd. Maybe it was a feeling he was getting from Yuki, who was getting it from Rei; he couldn't be sure how that whole twin link thing worked anyhow. With little to do, he stared at the ceiling as the time ticked by, busying himself with random equations, ideas for new projects, and as always, exactly how Tsukiko had reattached her soul to her body. As if on cue, he heard the soft padding of feet coming down the corridor, which became increasingly louder until the source of the noise presented itself directly in front of him. To say he was shocked was an understatement, there she was, Tsukiko, standing just outside his cell, crying her eyes out and yelling at him to come out because something was broken. He didn't know why, but he knew she was hysterical; he knew not that she had broken in here. Standing, he began to move towards her, holding out his hands, facing his palms towards the ground at an angle and pushing them downward repeatedly. She was obviously at wits end, so she needed calming. "Okay, okay, just calm down. Take deep breaths, just-"

He was cut off by her sudden apprehension by the six Shinigami that ran up behind her; obviously she had done something, but that did not register. All he knew was that his precious child was being accosted, and in an instant he saw and knew only a white hot flash of fury that propelled him across the cell. All they would know was that without warning, two hands would poke between the bars and seize the nearest two jailers by their necks, clamping down on their windpipes tightly. As soon as he had a hold of them, he forcefully yanked them towards the cell's bars, slamming their faces against the cold metal. His eyes narrowed as he pulled their faces to the bars to get a good look at the two men he was asphyxiating. Even in monotone, and even without a paralyzing Reiatsu running through his glare, he was just as terrifying now as he had been three or four years ago. Just because he didn't show it didn't mean he couldn't. "Release my daughter immediately. Do you know who it is that you are touching?" Getting only frightened noises and the like, he was on the verge of snapping their necks when he heard Hideki bellow for them to release her. He turned his gaze to put the voice to the face, and upon seeing Hideki, he relaxed a little but maintained his grip on Tsukiko's assualter's. If there was anyone he could depend on, it was him. Yuki first, of course, and then Hideki. His minor explanation of Tsukiko's actions piqued his curiosity, especially something about the realm needing to be saved. Still though, it wasn't enough for him. As he saw the others getting off Tsukiko, he released the two he had a hold of and lowered himself to the ground even more, taking Tsukiko's hand in his own and watching her fingers weakly curl around it. "Sweetheart, what's the matter?" It pained him to see her like this, and since she was, something terrible must have been going on.

After erasing a total of 34 buildings, creating three areas frozen in time, and creating the single window to Hueco Mundo, the Avant-garde began to settle down, almost as if they were preparing for something else. They didn't stop moving around however, there were still plenty of them slinking around the Seireitei and being captured by the Shinigami who opposed them. It seemed well enough that the binding was working, at least until the clock hit exactly 10pm. In the area where Rei was standing, the creatures that were trapped in what looked like amber began to pulse with energy while the Space-Time itself was bent around them, causing the water that held them to flicker out of existence permanently. The creatures that had been imprisoned began moving again, treating it like the event had never happened. All over the Seireitei this was happening simultaneously to those who had been previously captured by the residents; bindings were erased like they were never there, and the creatures trapped roamed free once more. After all of the Avant-garde were broken free, they began to pulse with energy again as the Seireitei's Space-Time was warped, causing the forms of a handful of older-looking gentlemen to start appearing scattered across the Seireitei. Their images flickered in and out from barely visible to transparent as the Avant-garde continued to pulsate with energy, then, without warning, they simultaneously exploded themselves, creating an amplified instance of warped Space-Time, which effectively locked these forms to the Seireitei, causing them to appear in full. As the creatures duplicated themselves and restored their bodies, they were switched from passive mode to aggressive mode, causing them to willingly seek out Shinigmi to blow up on rather than doing so if they were encountered.

Hakase Hei & Hakase Tsukiko
Jūnibantai (十二番隊, 12th Division)

[Nest of Maggots, Cell Block G]

The floor was freezing to the touch, one might not think it was winter had they been in here long enough, and had she not been out-of-her-mind depressed, she might have noticed. Tsukiko was sobbing hysterically while struggling to get free from her captors, as easy as it would have been to throw them off of her with her abilities, she could not muster them on account of the waves created by the Sekkiseki walls that were floating around in the air. As easy as it would have been for her to throw them off of her with her physical strength, she could barely muster enough of it to free her hand and slid it across the stone floor and into the gap at the very base of the cell's bars. Tsukiko jolted at the sudden sound of two faces hitting the bars, and she turned her head as far as it would go so that she may look at her father strangling two of the six jailers holding her down. He was being quite rough with them, so much so that they looked near ready to piss themselves in fear. Unknown to her, two of them at the very least were not so scared because they firmly believed they were safe from Hei's wrath, and could do as they please.

They were dead wrong, of course, as he could wrench the bars open if he so pleased, but none of them were thinking about this at the moment. As if on cue, Hideki appeared and ordered them off of her, and while thankful for his consideration, she couldn't determine whether or not she was mad at him for doing so on account of him getting in trouble alongside her. Such a thought came to her a moment of lucidity when she felt the weight of six grown men coming off of her, but this was quickly dismissed as her thoughts returned to her problems. Dirty, scraped, and bruised, Tsukiko attempted to rise, but her shaking body would see none of that, and she collapsed back onto the floor with a cry of exasperation. Her bottom lip quivering, she wrapped her fingers around Hei's hand as it took her own; it was surprisingly warm to the touch given the conditions, but it was familiar, soothing even, just as she had always known it to be. As she lay there feeling broken and inadequate, her head lying on the arm stretched inside the cell, she spilled out her innermost feelings that she had been keeping bottled up for so long while Hei looked down at her with a soft smile even though she wasn't looking. "I can't do it..." She sniffed, drawing mucus back into her nose and then wiped away her tears with the back of her hand.

"I can't be in charge anymore, I just can't. Everyone expects so much from me because I did all those things. But I never even tried, they just... came to me. I'm stupid and ugly and I can't do anything right. But now everyone expects me to fix the rip in Space-Time just because I'm your daughter. But I can't, Daddy! How can I do something so important if I can't even keep it together when you're gone!? Look at me, I'm such a loser... Reduced to nothing because I'm stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid! I can never measure up to you!" There it was, how she truly felt, inadequate in every area she had once felt good about, all because Hei was gone from her life. She lay there in silence, tears streaming from her face, but at least she was motionless now. A few seconds passed and when she heard nothing from her father, she assumed he agreed with her and weakly let go of his hand, pulling hers up to her chest while she curled into a ball. "See, even you agree with-" Her lament was cut short by the horrendous and jarring sound of metal being torn from solid stone, a result of Hei taking the metal bars in hand and yanking them towards him, completely uprooting the bars from the floor and tearing them open. Her eyes shot wide open and she jerked her head in his direction to watch in stunned silence as he pulled them apart. Without ever setting foot outside his cell so as to not be considered a flight risk, he turned and leaned the mangled bars against the adjacent wall, and bent over to gather Tsukiko in his arms. "Alright. So you think you're stupid, eh?"

User Image He pulled her to his chest, allowing her chin to rest on his shoulder while he held her like he did Senka while burping her, and moved about aimlessly around his cell as she spoke to her. "We both know that's not true, and here's why. You started walking much earlier than most toddlers, you also developed motor skills much earlier than other people, you were reading at college level before most were learning the alphabet, and your awareness of your surroundings, quite frankly, astounds even myself. Sweetie, do you remember the game I played with you all those years ago, the one with the number sequences and such?" He waited until she racked her brains for the information, and then felt her chin digging into his shoulder as she nodded before he continued. "It wasn't a game, it was an IQ test, and your mother almost had a heart attack when I told her the results. Tsukiko, you're exponentially smarter than I am; the things you have done only come to you because you have the brain capacity to understand and act upon them, and the very fact you don't have to try is undeniable proof that you are. Honey, you captured Dolor with a vague understanding of his power and a week's worth of planning, convinced the leader of a group of divine beings to revive me, made Aurelius your whipping boy through sheer tenacity and cunning, and put your soul back into your body all by yourself. I couldn't even do that, so please, don't say you cannot surpass me; you have already done so, which is exactly why I'm retiring once I get out of here."

Tsukiko stared over his shoulder mindlessly throughout his speech, his words hitting her like a ton of bricks. Initially she couldn't fathom how he had so much confidence in her when she felt so bad about herself that she was willing to give up while under pressure. But little by little she began to see why he had so much faith in her, and why he trusted her to take his place even when she felt herself being unworthy. None of it really shocked her as much as his statement of leaving, especially since she realized she had known deep down that she was smarter than her father so that wasn't really all that off putting. The IQ test came as a surprise, but it wasn't enough to shock her or anything like that. "You're leaving?" She sniffed away her snot, and wiped away some more of her tears with her sleeve, then grabbed onto him again for support. "Yes, I think it's high time I take a permanent break from this game. I'm far too old to put myself in a position where I have to deal with those people all day. I'd much rather spend the rest of my days tinkering with projects and taking it easy with your mother than sitting around doing tedious paper work all morning, having a break for inventing, and then teaching those idiots how to do things. I'm not a teacher, after all, just a researcher." Tsukiko moved, shifting herself so she could look her father in the eye. He moved his arms to accommodate, making a make-shift seat for her with them as she held herself steady. She looked like her sadness had been filtered from her system, looking generally more upbeat than she had been for the past few minutes, yet she was still quite dirty, and had broken a sweat. "Does that mean that I? B-but..." Hei brushed the few strands of wet hair that lay in her face to the side, tucking them behind her ear as he cast her a genuinely happy smile. "You can do it, you're my daughter. Speaking of which, did you say you were ugly?" He got an unsure look in response, then she nodded slowly. "That's just crazy talk, dear. No child of mine will ever be anything less than beautiful; it runs in the family, I'm sorry to disappoint." He then tapped her nose with his second knuckle, causing her to laugh for the first time in a while. "Atta girl, that's what I wanted to see."
