She didn't stop fighting, she was kicking as hard as she could, why wasn't this working?! He wasn't letting up, and there was a growing glaze over her eyes as she started to weaken.
In a last attempt to do something, her hand reached down to her thigh where her pokemon were kept, grabbing at the first one she could find, only to fumble and send four of them dropping to the ground, and scattering across the floor.
She could have sworn that she heard the noise of one of them popping open, but that was about the time she found her neck being released.
It was the most glorious, and painful feeling in the world to have oxygen flood ones depraved lungs again, as undignified and desperate as gasp was. Faleen crumpled, dropping to the ground as well next to Lance, where she lay, raggedly gasping.
What happened? why did he let go? had her pokemon actually come out and done something? She was barely composed enough, still, she forced herself up onto her elbows, one eye closed as she tried to see what had happened.
What she saw, was Lance, he was still close to her, She could tell that there was a struggle going on in his head, but his eyes didn't have that rage from before. If she had to guess, he was as composed as he was going to get right now. He was as himself as he had been in a while.
"D- don't." Still uncoordinated, she reached out quickly to grab the arm that was reaching for the glass.

Lance blinked once as his arm was grabbed just before he could reach the shard of glass. There was a tortured look on his face as he turned to look at Faleen. "Why?" he asked softly. Why was she stopping him? He just tried to kill her. What if he lost himself again and actually succeeded? And who was to say he was completely in his right mind even then? Did she actually care or was it that she was merely saving him because hew as valuable to Team Rocket? Naturally it was probably the latter.
He didn't resist though, he didn't really have the strength to at that point. The raw power he'd just demonstrated was gone with the rage. He caught something orange out of the corner of his eye. A shape he wasn't unfamiliar with... and then his vision started to blur. Slumped over on the floor, all he could do was sit there and let the despair slide down his cheeks since he was denied his only means of release.
It was then that the door suddenly burst open and several security grunts ran into the room. But Lance didn't so much as bat an eye at them.

She had no words for him, and she didn't dare let go of his arm, panting slightly as she slowly caught her breath, The Agent forced herself up onto her knees, looking directly at him. It was hard to tell if she was actually glaring at him or not, but the look on her face, while could be described as... level, held a hardness to her eyes. Maybe becasue she had almost passed out, being in danger of even being strangled to death, even though she had trust in the pokemon who came out to not let that happen.
She was on her knees, hair frazzled and falling in her face. "... Charizard." She snapped, her voice weak as she coughed a couple of times.
The large, orange dragon pokemon let off a low grumble, blue eyes surveying the scene with a mildly perplexed look. He had a nasty scar running down from his shoulder, across his chest, indicating that this was Faleen's evolved Charmeleon, evidently he was the one that had been released when the balls scattered.
"Get him under control, don't leave his arms free" having to get this order out quickly, in case of any further malfunctions, even though it seemed to have died down, despite how painful it was to talk right now. Practically tossing Lance's arm away from her, as she moved to get back to her feet, gather what dignity she had left.
Upon her order, Charizard gave another rumble, and tromped his way over to them, doing what he was told, and taking the human up by an arm.
"Five years to this day, my mother died outside of her office, and of all days, I spend it with the man who I once considered a good friend." She would pause between some words to keep breathing, but she kept her hard stare on him. "I told you before, I'm telling you now." her tones were quiet, and horse, one hand supporting herself on the wall, as she was now full on glaring at Lance. "If you defect, I can help you."
She honestly didn't expect this to work, but even as the grunts started hurrying over to them, Faleen kept her eyes on Lance, waiting for the answer she knew was coming. "But if you keep this up, we will keep you alive for a long, long time. If you want to call this a life."
Who knows, maybe thats why she stopped him, maybe she held some hope that they would break him, and he would be a Rocket again, some iiiitttyyy biiiittty part of her. While the rest, only saved him becasue of his worth to Rocket, and the worth of the project.
Charizard's gaze stayed on Faleen, watching quietly. snorting in annoyance in Lance's ear.

He was an undignified mess himself. Hands bleeding and a giant welt of a bruise swelling on his face where Faleen's elbow has struck. He would have countless bruises where she had been kicking him as well.
Lance found himself pulled to his feet as the Charizard picked him up by one arm. He staggered a bit but managed to regain his footing, with both arms now held securely by the dragon. He didn't put a fight though, he knew better. The sound of Faleen's cracked voice only driving home the fact that he had nearly killed her. A fact that smothered him with an almost crushing guilt.
When she started speaking to him, he lifted his eyes to meet her glare. It wasn't an empty look as he'd had before, but hope and defiance had now faded from them. But her words drew an odd expression. She was... willing to help him? All of this could finally end. It could go away. All he had to do was pledge allegiance to Team Rocket. If he didn't, he would just continue to live trapped inside his own body, unable to control himself. He would remain at their mercy.
It was tempting. So very tempting. Lance's eyes softened a bit as he held his gaze with Faleen's. She had called him friend, and despite it all, he still cared for her as well. They could be friends again if he would just take her offer. A part of him desperately wanted to. To cease this meaningless life and start anew. His life as the champion seemed so distant, as if it had only been a dream. Life as Will seemed closer and more feasible, just within his grasp. He just had to reach out and take it.
He looked to Faleen imploringly, wanting to accept, and opened his mouth to do just that. "I..." he started to say until the Charizard snorted in his ear. A sound he was all too familiar with and reminded him exactly why he was here. As if awakening the dragon master within once again.
"I... will not. I can not." He said softly, looking away for a moment before turning his gaze back to her again. He then spoke again with more certainty. "Do what you will, but I will never defect to Team Rocket." Even as he said it, a part of him broke. He knew what this would mean, but if he accepted.. he would be turning away from everything he had ever fought for. He couldn't give up. He couldn't give in. Not now and not ever. "I'm sorry..." he then whispered, knowing that it would likely be of little consolation. But he wasn't apologizing for his defiance, but rather for the friendship that the both of them had lost.

There was a moment, watching the look on his face... the strange look in his eyes, where she could tell he was actually considering it... maybe? The long hesitance to answer certainly made it seem that way. this amazed her, and for a second.... a split second, she wondered if maybe he was going to accept.
She still remained cautious, though her eyebrows arched ever so slightly, watching him closely.
At his reply reply, her eyelids drooped, frowning softly, and though she did her best to conceal is, she looked crestfallen. She stood, letting herself breath, not saying anything, leaving her gaze to stare down Lance, only to look over to the Grunts who joined them, finally.
"So am I..." came her reply, face still flushed, she turned away from him. busying herself with gathering her fallen Pokeballs, and returning the dropped taser to her boot. "Get him fully retrained, as little movement as possible. Get a medical Team as well as a Science and Tech team, I fear the device might have overloaded."
So, that was it, She had done what she could, offered him what she could, and he turned it down for whatever pride he still had. She couldn't exactly blame him, He had his side, and he was willing to die for it, and suffer for it. It wasn't so much different that what she would do for Team Rocket. But only for Team Rocket. He would never be a Rocket, and he was going to suffer for it. There was nothing she could, or would do for him.
Right now she had important things to attend to. Other than getting Lance secured, she had to check her tablet. Hope that Porygon's data was still in it unharmed, and transfer him out safely. Not only that, but she was going to have to get her geat back to the labs. hoping that none of the data was lost during Lance's rampage.

"Yes ma'am!" they shouted to Faleen's orders as some of the grunts rushed over to relieve the Charizard and grabbed hold of Lance instead. Restraints were quickly placed on his wrists and ankles, although he wasn't putting up the least amount of resistance. Instead his head was now hung as the weight of the situation fell on him.
It was hard to believe that the woman who had been his friend whom he enjoyed having as company, was now such a cold adversary. It was really true. He had his world and she had hers, and there could be nothing between them, friendship or otherwise. They were enemies and that's likely how it would always be. If only he had met her before she'd become a Rocket. Then things might have been different.
The other grunts rushed out of the room, going to summon the people that Faleen had requested. Lance would have only a short time to enjoy being in control of himself again, but yet he couldn't find any joy in anything.

Once the human was taken out of his claws, Charizard snorted a jet of steam from his nostrils watching the grunts as they restrained him. Not looking particularly interesting, with a permanent frown on his features. The fire type twitched his wings, and lowered himself closer to the ground, so that he could crawl his way, rather snake like over to Faleen.
Faleen only acknowledged the dragon with a quiet glance to the side as he stopped next to her. Otherwise hurriedly focused on getting her tablet working again, some of its pieces laying on the table. More importantly, she was trying to get power to the USB port. If she could do that than there was a chance she could get Porygon out of there, and with him bring any information she had on the Tablet. If not, than she would need to go to the programers to have them try and save the data.
Her throat was killing her, she wanted to drink something, get some water to try and help, but she had to get this done. She worked on hurriedly, Charizard watching her with only half of an attention span, his tail weaving back and forth through the air.
Lance went otherwise ignored, though her expression was still cold from his response. and her face still pink.

The room was a mess, and there was no way they could do what needed to be done in here at this point. The equipment was damaged and the grunts quickly realized this once they looked around. Just what in the blazes happened in here?!
"Agent Faleen, we'll take him next door." They informed her, while giving the dragon master a shove to get him moving.
Lance blinked and glanced up as he obediently followed, but not without a look towards Faleen. "I'll defeat Team Rocket!" He called to her as he was escorted away. "And I'll free you from this place. Even if you hate me for it." Bold words coming from a man who was their prisoner, but he meant every one of them. He would save her from this place. He'd defeated them once, he could still do it again. Some how. Some way. They couldn't hold him here forever.
"Shut up!" One of the grunts shouted as he drove a fist into Lance's stomach, which quickly silenced him as they finally dragged him out of the room.

"Yes, please do. I've got to get this finished." She replied to the grunt without even looking up, engrossed in her work. Her hands stopped however, when Lance's voice was heard, yelling and exactly what he said.
She froze, eyes narrowing softly before slowly standing up tall. The Agent glanced over, a soft, unamused glare on her face. Free her?
"I already hate you, Lance." She retorted as he was dragged away, hands clenching on her tools.
It didn't have to be this way, he could have joined them... But he didn't, they were not friends anymore, and she hated him for that.
Turning back to her work, not wanting to give Seth another reason to be disappointed... more than he was going to be, she would have to give a report.
