Swaying his tail Koka let his brother up and nuzzled him. "I love you too, Skugg." Turning the silver skunk headed out of the den quickly going to work searching for something to hunt down. After a couple short minutes of searching Koka comes across a rather large snake. Looking it over from a safe distance which was provided by a rock sticking out of a small hill the silver skunk wonders if its a one of those devil snakes Skugg always speaks of avoiding.

Skugg chuckled and laid there, wanting more to cuddle after that but he figured they had to eat eventually. 'I hope he's smart and stays away from the snakes. There's some nasty rattlesnakes and vipers around here.' he thought to himself.

Sniffing the snake's scent a few more times Koka decides this is one of those devil snakes. Turning away from it before it took note he was there the silver skunk went back to searching. Getting hold of another scent he followed it to a fallen log. Digging around in it he made two decent sized corn snakes slither out. "Oh! Those aren't devil snakes! I always saw mom bring these home before." Pouncing on the snakes Koka grinned as he carried them back to the den.

Skugg was starting to get worried but he promised to let Koka have his independence so he decided he'd give him a full hour before he went looking.

The two corn snakes didn't much like the trip to what they could only guess was this creature's home. Chirping happily Koka bound up to the den opening and swayed his tail happily.

Skugg raced over when he saw Koka and went to nuzzle him but the snakes caught him off-guard. "Ummm.... You're supposed to kill them before you drag them home." he pointed out, chuckling.

Dropping the two snakes Koka nuzzled his brother. "I didn't quite now how to kill them." Admitting his small weakness the silver skunk looked to the ground. "Least I didn't mess with that devil snake I first found." Once on the ground the two snakes try to slither away from the two skunks.

Skugg jumped on one of the snakes, grabbed it up in his teeth and shook it until he went limp.

Watching his brother's actions with the snake Koka grabbed up the other corn snake and did the same thing. The life went from the snake quickly and it hung limp. "So did I do good, Skugg?"

"You did more than great, Koka." Skugg said through a mouthful of snake meat. "You proved you can handle it so I'll let you hunt once in a while but I'd rather you stay near enough that I can hear you if you call me." he said after he gulped it down.

Munching down his snake Koka nods lightly. "Alright. I'll stay close to the den." Smiling a bit the silver skunk finishes his meal before walking over and nuzzling his brother with a small yawn.

"Alright, I think it's bed time, Koka." Skugg whispered as he nuzzled back. "You don't mind if we just sleep tonight, do you?" he asked. "I'm still a little sore but I can snuggle."

"That's fine by me, Skugg. I'd rather sleep anyhow." Trotting over to their haypile of a bed Koka yawns and curls up into a ball. Swaying his tail slowly he looks to his brother. "You coming?"

Skugg crawled into bed and curled up with his little brother. "I remember after mom and dad died, you used to crawl into bed and curl up with me..." he whispered. "I never said it back then but I was afraid to sleep alone, too."

Nuzzling up to Skugg lightly Koka yawns. "..." He didn't really know how to reply instead he just licked his brother's muzzle. "Its alright now though. We have each other and nothing can take us apart, right?"
