In stark contrast, Ever's expression was more pained and frustrated than anything else. As far as he was concerned, Sabine had already seen, had already gotten the idea, and now they were pot committed. Unfortunately, Zac didn't feel the same way, and it took two to tango.
"....absolutely nothing." He tried to keep it out of his voice, and pretty thoroughly failed. Had to close his eyes, count to ten, and focus. "You still have all your clothes on. I don't even know what you think she could have seen."

Zac's eyes squeezed tight shut as he tried to calm the jump in his heart beat. Ever's words and tone were one guilt, Sabine in the hall way was another.
"...goddamnit..." He said frustrated and torn for who to try and 'soothe' as far as ego, never mind his own tattered dignity.
A heavy sigh. "...goddamnit." He repeated "She's standing outside isn't she... I didn't hear her leave... what if..." he started and stopped. Not exactly fair to send her to get pizza... or more ice cream. "I could just ask her to... goddamnit..."

"...it's up to you, Zac." There, better under control. He cracked his eyes a little, shifting under Zac and licking his lips, his hands still settled gently against hips. Ever had absolutely no urge to chase after Sabine -- and also probably none of the worry he should have had. She wasn't exactly a child. None of them were.
He didn't make it easy, though. After a moment, he leaned up on an arm to press his face in against Zac's throat, sighing. "If you're worried, I'll live."

A heavy sigh, surprisingly perhaps with a hint of his own frustration. "... rain check?" He said glancing away embarrassed to have asked. "I just... her ... she...even before... I mean she did go to meadow view but... she's forgotten...and..."
"... Raincheck..." He said more decisively though it was at least tinged with embarrassment and frustration, half for being walked in on, half for the pressing need to leave.
"If she isn't traumatized maybe she'll enjoy the idea of the dorms more..."

Ever was going to wear down his molars. He tipped his forehead down against Zac's shoulder and tried to stop grinding his teeth, nodding a little against him instead. Life wasn't fair. He'd had quite a few lessons in this. It would seem like less of a big deal once Zac wasn't quite so comfortably up against him.
"...okay. Go. If you want to go, just go, for the love of God." At least he managed teasing in his tone of voice.

"...i'll make it up to you somehow..." He said wincing at the sound of grinding teeth, then half wished he hadn't said that. His face felt hot enough to make toast as he worked his way carefully free and wished he had some idea of ...something to do to make Ever less angry too. "I'm sorry..." He said and sounded, honestly like he really meant it.
Maybe he did... life -wasn't- fair, it made you get tangled up in the worst...best...most awful wonderful things and then yanked you out the second you turned your back...or dropped sister's in the first time you felt daring enough to try something new.
Next time... he told himself... and hoped that Ever wasn't quite so mad that there wouldn't be a next time.
