Wynter had been about to ask Arcana how in the world something made by humans could have gotten up here when the wind hit. Poor Arcana, so much bigger with those wings to make it worse! Wynter flattened her body to the ground to make herself less of a target, from both the wind and the tumbling Phim body!

"Are you alright," she called out, picking her way down the slope delicately and trying to avoid a few more gusts. The die went unnoticed. Part of it was Wynter's placing of importance on what you were more than what you had, and the other part was something that small was going to be hard to find after the wind finally set it back down. If it was meant to be, then they'd find it again later. Quite simple, really. Wynter believed that all things had to happen for a reason.

The world kind of hurt; okay just her lower back and neck, nothing to serious. The moment she got up and was able to walk it off she would be as good as new. Well okay so maybe her pride wouldn’t be the same and if she was alone she would have gone on a cussing match with the wind but an Arcana near some one was always different than she was alone.

“Define alright?” She asked with a slight wince. Since the world still had a slightly upside down view she smiled as the die seemed to land near her. Oh that was good. She had liked that die; it would have been a total waste for it to have disappeared. She inched slowly towards it intent on placing it in her bag before another freakish wind gust was out to get her. “I shall be perfectly fine in a few minutes” Arcana stated with a nod and rolled over so she was right side up again. “I didn’t loose the die so things are better” to her since she knew she was fine it was the die she had disturbed the poor snake for that was more important.

Wynter chuckled. "If you're feeling well enough to scramble after a trinket after a fall like that, then you're fine," she said, feeling some of that sharp panic vanish. Odd, but she hadn't realized how anxious she had been until it had bled away.

"Perhaps we should hasten our decent and climb the next rise slowly, so as to give those gusts time to move on," she suggested. If something could blow Arcana around like that on the ground, Wynter didn't want to know what it would do to her in the air. And she definetly didn't want to know what it would do to her while she was trying to fly while holding on to Wynter!

“Hey the trinket was an excellent reminder of our great and heroic battle with the evil snake overlord” Arcana teased finally feeling much better that her treasure was in her bag. “Besides you need more than a hill to take Arcana down” she chuckled. Well just in case there where other injuries that Arcana had missed she experimentally flexed all her joints. Yep even her wings where functioning normally.

“Are you worried about the wind?” Arcana stated. “or are you worried about me in the air?” Arcana asked in a light tone. It was okay if the other didn’t believe in her flying skills. “I may not have been prepared for that gust of wind but don’t worry in the air I’m an excellent flier.” She pointed out with a reassuring smile. None the less Arcana hopped up to her feet. She had been itching to fly so why not hurry to her lift off destination. The weather was perfect for flying.

For the first time Wynter looked a bit nervous. "Perhaps a bit of both," she said, eyeing the scuttling clouds above. She hadn't quite realized how high up they all were until now. "You are sure you are alright, and that this wind will not hamper you while you are carrying a burden?" She tried not to make it sound like she doubted Arcana, but a touch of her nerves probably crept in her voice despite her attempts.

This was good for Wynter, though. She was so often sure of herself and exuding all that peace, that she was in danger of becoming complacent and stagnant. A new experience would do her good, certainly. Hopefully Arcana would be able, if not to see this, be a good teacher of new things to the isolated vixen.

Arcana looked at Wynter with a slightly knowing glance. It was almost the same feeling she had when her sisters where learning how to fly. Arcana had learned as early as she could get away with just so that when Magica and Celestia had tried to fly she would be able to help them. They had both been a little afraid and had learned on a really windy day like today.

“I guess I don’t really think about how scary it could be to some one who spends their time on the ground. You see my small little clan is mostly phims and those who are normal have phims for mates so they are often used to being in the air again. It’s very inconsiderate of me not to think you might be a bit nervous” Arcana stated with a smile. “Do not worry. I am quite fine it was just a silly tumble down the hill. Nothing is injured and this wind is nothing. I used to carry my siblings some times in way worse weather than this” she just kept the reassuring smile and began trekking up to the top of the next hill.

Wynter followed after her, somewhat reassured though not entirely able to slow her heart rate now. It was an odd feeling, anxiety. Wynter thought she'd been doing well in keeping control over her emotions, though perhaps all she'd been doing was to repress them. Hardly a good thing!

To distract herself, "I find it hard to imagine, a whole grouping of Phims." Wynter conjured up a mental picture of multiple Arcana's. A good thing normals were so much smaller, or they'd have to be avoiding wings every way they turned! The small smile on her face was a touch wistful. "It is something I would like to see someday."

“Well they all wont look like me, there are stripedy colored ones and star ones and all sorts of patterns. However I guess that’s not true. There are two others that have my same pattern only different colors. We travel around a lot and most of the time walk around on the ground. After all it’s not fair to those of the group who are normals to be showing off by flying all the time when they cant” Arcana tried to help visualize but figured Wynter should see it for her self. “I can take you if you want. We always like new comers.”

It was still a little windy by the time that Arcana reached the top of the next hill where she would finally able to go flying. She looked over at Wynter to see how her new friend was faring before looking up into the sky. She extended her wings out and looked like she might be swept up again but this time she was prepared and easily stood her ground. She gave a reassuring smile to winter again before launching herself into the air.

Wynter watched as Arcana took to the sky, and had to admit that she seemed quite in control of her flight. It was actually very graceful, even with the unpredictable gusts. She was still a little anxious, but now she also felt a slight stirring of eagerness. How odd, for such a grounded vixen to long for the air.

With a graceful turn Arcana circled back to pick up wynter. She wobbled a bit due to the new weight and the pressure of the wind but that discomfort only lasted a few seconds before she was almost seamlessly gliding. “See nothing to worry about. You’ll be fine” Arcana answered before gently giggling. She loved flying. It wasn’t as important as fortune telling or her sisters but it was definitely up there. Of course the giggles were more that she was able to share it with a fox who hadn’t been flying before.

If you traced Wynter's life back from present to when she first crawled out of her BCR, you would find very few moments where she did anything undignified. Those few moments she did have belonged exclusively to her early kithood, when she about everything one did was undignified as one got used to life.

Therefore, the very undignified squeaking noise she made when Arcana picked her up out of nowhere would have been very satisfactory to any with the urge to stick the vixen a pin in the rump just to get a reaction.

In a way it was good that Arcana had grabbed her like that though; it gave her no time to be anxious and mess up the grab. After a few moments her heart slid out of her throat and back in her chest, and she actually began to take notice of things like the wind blowing through her fur and the.....view.

"I've never been so high before," she said. It was actually almost dizzying, to see all that ground beneath her paws without any of it supporting her.

((XD Poor Wynter. I never realized how secretyly ditzy and boring she was until now!))

Arcana secretly raised an eye brow in amusement at the little squeak that came from her flying partner. It was a bit expected because normal foxes always fell into certain categories when it came to flying for their fist time. It was always why Arcana had picked her up the way she had. Wynter might have done something to make the take off a little harder than it normally would have been.

She looked at the ground below her and refrained from doing any tricks like she normally would have done as not to traumatize her guest on the first flight. Nor would her manners allow her to do any tricks while carrying another.

“Oh this is nothing, when flying a phim normally is much higher, but you don’t have to worry I don’t intend to get that high today? Well unless I mysteriously don’t see a thermal and it carries us up” Arcana teased. While flying there was no way she would miss a thermal but she didn’t have to partake of that particular detail. “So point out the way to our mountain spot” Arcana said with a slight smile. As the breeze messed with her hair and had it blow into her face she made a mental note that went she went back she would definitely get a hair tie this was going to drive her crazy and she definitely couldn’t raise a paw up to get the hair out of her face. Ah well maybe she could get the wind to push it back into place it a bit.

This was nothing?! Wynter felt her heart twinge with a mixture of fear and wonder. Already her tense muscles were relaxing a bit, and as she felt the relaxing she took a moment to focus her mind on her body and completely relax herself. It was something she was well-practiced in, and took only the span of five heartbeats.

"I shall hope very much that a thermal won't creep up on you," Wynter said in a serious voice. She was only just starting to get comfortable with all this and the thought of jumping up even higher, like a toy the wind wished to play with, left Wynter thinking longingly of the firm ground below.

At Arcana's words though she remember why exactly they were flying, and scanned the ground below to get her bearings. "Ah, a bit to your right, slightly south," she said, spotting the range they wanted to explore.

Arcana was coming to realize she seemed to hum a lot, she supposed it came when her sisters where frightened as little kits and she would hum them all to sleep since she didn’t know any songs at the time. Later she just created them or found rather interesting ones. As such when she was really happy she often found her self filling the area around her with a soft celtic tune. Of course flying was such an accelerating thing that she always hummed.

“Oh don’t worry no thermals today” Arcana laughed, “I wouldn’t want to color your first flying experience, ne?” she stated looking out at the mountains in front of them. “However you should definitely try it some time. If you are with a really good flyer then its awesome” Arcana giggled in happiness. “Actually Meris would be a pretty good phim to go flying with, he makes flying look like an art, although don’t tell him that he’s shy when it comes to complements” she didn’t know why she was telling winter about Meris as they would probably never meet but it was something to mention she supposed.

“alright to the south it is” she stated changing their direction ever so slightly. Then it was straight back to humming and floating along on the wind. She should probably start concentrating on landing. She hadn’t landed with some one that couldn’t fly themselves in a while so it was better to start thinking now.

Wynter was pretty sure this was something she would never quite get used to. There was just too much earth in her to really be comfortable in her total opposite. She reconciled with the fact, and set her mind to a more positive frame. After all it wasn't that she didn't enjoy the flight, it was just that off feeling of being out of her element.

"Perhaps I shall meet this Meris one day," she said. "Though I am inclined to think I will always prefer the earth." Now Wynter chuckled just a little. "It is too to have an earth personality to balance out air." She didn't know Arcana well enough to decide if she had an air personality, but that didn't matter so much. It was mostly a joke centered on the air nature that was part of all Phims and Daevas, whether they flew or not.

Just as Arcana started thinking about landing, Wynter's thought trailed in that direction too. The distraction of first getting into the air had....shoved that other little detail to the back of her mind. Wynter found herself almost more nervous of landing than she was of staying on the ground.
