He lifted his head and turned his eyes toward her. The area around his mouth was dripping with blood considering he had already taken a few chunks out of his kill. "I could care less as long as one has the skills... if not then they are a fool for trying." He narrowed his eyes. "And I would kill them for annoying me with false accusations." He turned back to his meal and tore into it again.

Avatre didn't respond, or even look up from her meal. She didn't reply to foolish statements. Of course you had to hear a little about why a person was qualified to make sure they had skills. And if they didn't they might be a fool, but you'd be a fool for letting them try in the first place. That or dead. Infections or poison were very common causes of death if a healer didn't have experience.
Ah well, it didn't really matter. She was qualified, so the rest was her just splitting hairs with herself. That made it doubly pointless, since she didn't really intend to say anything either. Kashet was right, she thought too much sometimes...
So Avatre worked on clearing out her mind and eating until she was sated.

Kairon finished up his meal leaving vary little behind for scavengers. He was still hungry but he was sure that was only because he hadn't eaton in days. If he let his food settle he was sure it would fill him up. He licked the blood from his muzzle and claws then settled down a little ways away from his kill to relax. He glanced up to see if the female was finished with her meal as well. He waited in silence as he watched her eat.

It was only by virtue that Avatre was eating a lot neater than Kairon that he finished before her. She hadn't eaten since yesterday herself, but even if it had been a week she couldn't have fit that whole doe in her stomach. She tried to make it a habit to eat slowly, since gorging when starved meant she ate more than she could handle and felt bloated and heavy for the rest of the day. With the luck she sometimes had, that would be when an enemy chose to attack.
She did finish only a few moments after Kairon, leaving a half-stripped carcass. "That feels better," she said, cleaning the little blood that had collected around her muzzle. Now she turned her attention back to Kairon, and the wound his had sustained. "If you can, try to thoroughly clean your wound as best you can. Otherwise we're going to have to get up and find a water source around here." Place like this that got regular rain, probably had one main river and several tiny little creeks that would be a pain to find.
Avatre shrugged. "If you want we can look for water instead, but either way I have to hunt for some herbs to keep infection out."

He watched her eat surprised at the amount of flesh still on the body. She must have not been as hungry as he thought. Well it wasn't his concerns weather or not she ate well. His tail moved from side to side as he watched her with curious eyes. He wasn't sure why she wanted to help him. If she managed to help with the wound perhaps he would ask her. He stood then sat down as he as he lowered his head and started to clean the wound with his tongue.
"This is fine... I do not require water." He glanced back up at the female. "Do you wish for me to remain here wile you search?"

Avatre had to hold in a snicker before she could answer. With the position of the wound, it meant Kairon had to really tuck his head before he could reach it. It was kinda hilarious to see his face sticking out of neck fluff like a lemeur or something of the kind.
She got herself under control quickly though. "Yea, just wait here. It'll make it easier for me to find you, and you can focus on getting the cut clean." With that said, Avatre disappeared into the thick undergrowth.

Kairon couldn't help but glance up at her. He gave her a funny look as he raised an eyebrow and tilted his head slightly. She seemed to be having some trouble with something. What it was he wasn't sure... but he had a feeling it had to do with him. what could he have done that caused her to act in such a way? Before he could ask however she stated that he should stay put wile she left in search of herbs.
"Vary well... I will stay here." He then watched her go. Once out of sight he began his attempt at licking his wound again. "Curse that mule..." Of course he was talking about the buck that had kicked him.

Avatre returned some time later with a wide leaf in her mouth. Inside the leave was a poltice she had made and a few chips of willow bark. The willow had been a lucky find, and was for pain. The poltice had been made from flowers she had found that she knew helped stave off infection. She'd made it then and there though, since she was pretty sure there'd be dignity calls going into play if Kairon actually saw the flowers she was going to use. They were really pretty things.
"Here, chew on these," she said, setting the leaf down and nudging the two pieces of willow bark at Kairon. "Don't worry if you swallow them, they aren't toxic." That would probably be the case, since the bark was so thin. She bent and focused on the wound, nodding in satisfaction that it had been cleaned properly. Avatre set about applying her medicine to the wound, wondering if there was some way to cover it. The positioning made it a bit awkward.

Once he was finished cleaning his wound he waited for the female to return. He looked around the area watching little creatures scurry about. They didn't want to come anywhere near him. He couldn't help but smile at that. They knew their place. Not that he would reach out and take them out if they came anywhere near him. He snorted as his tail flicked and looked back in the direction Avatre went. She was still gone and he was starting to wonder if she had gotten into some trouble. Of course after he thought that she came out from the trees carrying something in her mouth.
He blinked when she walked over and set it at his feet. He looked down at the items then up at her with a rather curious look. What exactly did she want him to do with them? When she spoke of chewing the bark he gave her a look and she responded telling him they weren't toxic. With that he leaned down and sniffed them for a moment then opened his mouth and chomped down on them. He then began to chew. After chewing on them for a wile he made a face and swallowed.
"Ugha! Diskusting..." He made another face. "What was the point of me eating that?" He looked at her then leaned back slightly when she came in close to apply the medicine to his wound. He didn't do well with others in his little bubble.

Avatre looked up at Kairon and made a face. "It's to help with pain, because even if you don't feel pain now it's going to make an appearance at some point. Now hold still." She finished applying as much of the poltice as she could to the wound, then sat back and sighed, looking at it.
"It might heal quicker if I could seal it. Mud with clay in it would be best since it just dries on, but I guess it's fine like that. Since you didn't think it was that much of a big deal I'm guessing you've never had a ton of problems with before, which indicates a strong body and a good healing ability."
Avatre was talking more to herself at the end, since she didn't expect any of it to be new to Kairon nor did she expect any kind of answer. She sat for a moment, staring at the spot now hidden by fur, then shrugged. "I'd say look me up if it doesn't start healing in a few days, but-." Her eyes flickered to Kairon's face for a moment. She was pretty sure than in a few days they'd have both gone their separate ways. It was kinda a Daeva thing, not lingering.

Kairon was surprised that she knew so much about this. It wasn't every day that he met a daeva that knew about creating herbs and things that heal. Then again he had never really gotten injured this bad. Most of the time he was just getting to fights with other daevas that involved territory. So when the fights ended he often walked away with scratches. This was the first time he had been injured so bad by a meal. In a way is bothered him. How could he let that animal get the drop on him? His father would have never made that mistake. He glanced up at her when she mentioned about the pain.
"I see... you know quite a bit about this..." staying still he watched as she finished applying the mixture she had made. At first it stung a little but then it started to feel better. "A seal?" He gave her a strange look. "How strange... I have never heard of doing such a thing to a wound... As for my body as you can see i am in fine shape." He glanced away then looked back at her. "But what?"

Avatre got straight to the point. "Well there's a couple buts. The first is that in a few days we'll more than likely have gone our separate ways of traveling and that it would be kinda hard to find me again. The second is that if it needs my attention again, then you probably got a horrible infection that could be more than capable of killing you."
Avatre shrugged. "It's your call really, since you know your body best. I might be overstating things, but when you learn the arts of healing you tend to lean towards a ounce of prevention being better than a pound of cure."

What he didn't want to hear was something about infection... he didn't want to get sick or worse... die. If he were to die he would leave his sister behind and that would not be called for. He glanced over at her wondering what it is he should do. She was most likely right about splitting up. He wasn't the one to normally hang around with other daevas.
"Your likely right... I do not normally travel with others... Well no mater." He stood. "We can decide decide what to do later."

"Right enough," Avatre said, yawning a little. "The day's only growing shorter. And in any case I'm no closer to escaping this deities awful forest." She cast a frustrated, molten bronze glare at the thick tangle of branches and canopy above them. It might not even be as late as she thought, what with all these trees blocking the light.
Still frowning, she looked back at Kairon. "Perhaps a compromise? If you're as eager as me to get out of these lands, we could travel together. It shouldn't take more than a few days if we don't lose our sense of direction entirely, if it the wound's gonna go sour it'll be somewhere within that timeframe, I'd imagine."

"Tech..." He snorted in annoyance. "I have a feeling it wont be so easy to get out." He looked up at the canopy as well. "Who knows what time it is out side of this forest. With the thick trees its hard to tell how late it is..." His tail flicked in annoyance. "This is frustrating..." He growled then looked over at her when she mentioned a compromise. He raised an eyebrow then thought about it and nodded. "I agree... It would be better if we travel together for now..."
