Oh, no. He wasn't getting off the hook that easy. She listened with slightly narrowed eyes, though she couldn't help the tired sigh that escaped her when he mentioned 'Aulus' 'Lucas' and 'disagreement.' This wasn't surprising in the least. "What was it about?" 'Just two unhappy guys' - bullshit. No, she would find out what happened even if it killed her. Which it wouldn't, but she'd get it anyway, if her firm and expectant expression was any indication of this.

Did she really even have to ask? "You," he answered lamely, dropping his gaze to the ground at the side. "And," he glanced around to see that no one was around, but still picked the more cautious wording, "the other 'group' that was there. I don't know, it was a stupid mess." He met her eyes again, checking that she had indeed caught the reference to Galactic.

A sigh accompanied the roll of her eyes at his response. Nope, not surprising at all. Not in the least. "Ugh, figures. They don't really like each other at all, though I think Aulus probably hates Lucas for giving him death threats," because who would like someone who threatened to break them in half? The fact that Lucas had found out about what happened with Galactic there wasn't surprising either, though another thought occurred to her, and her brows furrowed slightly. "What happened after that?"

Alba shrugged. "He- I mean, Lucas, left. Demanded Aulus tell him where you were, and left." Then some trainee I've never seen before with the most bizarre hair and eyes came in looking for a light, and his Gengar went for the beer. "That's it."

Another sigh. "Well, I'm not that surprised," nor was she too pleased that Lucas had conspicuously run off immediately after finding out about Galactic, but she couldn't do anything about that. "Anyway," she said, moving her hands to hang out of her pockets instead of the mock-interrogator stance she'd adopted before, her expression softening as she did so, "what were you going to do today? I've already accomplished everything," which was just the TV and dvd player, "so..." A shrug accompanied the last word, as if to convey that she didn't have anything else in mind and didn't care what they did next. All that mattered was that she wasn't wandering around Camphoreon alone.

"Uh, well..." Alba scratched the backside of his neck, mildly surprised to finally be off the hook. "Nothing in particular. I was just going to look around and get some air, maybe lunch or something if I felt up to it." Spook peeked out from her hiding spot behind Alba's head. Food? "No." The Chingling pouted as she disappeared into the Pokeball Alba held up. She knew he wouldn't leave her to go hungry, though, so no longer put up as much of a fuss as she might have in the past. "Any of that sound not painfully boring?"

Her mouth twitched into a small smile at his choice of words. "No, doesn't sound boring at all. I could use some lunch actually. Oh, hmm.." Lunch, which meant restaurant, which meant a bill to be paid. She wasn't sure how much Lucas had rubbed off on Alba - or what Alba was like when he went out to eat anyway - so she decided to make sure ahead of time. "I can pay for myself, just don't tell Lucas."

Mmm, lunch... The Pikachu on her shoulder almost drooled onto her from his thoughts of food, but thankfully he didn't. If he had, he wouldn't get food for probably three weeks.

Alba chuckled awkwardly. "Don't tell him I tattled, and we'll call it a deal." Picking a direction, he pocketed the keys and started to walk. If he guessed right, they were headed for the port and waterfront area, which was bound to have at least a couple cafes or restaurants to choose from. "Any preferences? No food allergies?"

"Good," she said with a smile, following suit and walking next to him to wherever they were going, she wasn't quite sure. Again, the only thing that mattered was that she wasn't alone. "He took me out for breakfast once and wouldn't hear of me paying for myself. Oh, um.. Well, I like Italian," she said with a shrug, "and seafood, but almost anything would be fine. Nope, no food allergies."

"Alright, then," he nodded, feeling more at ease again. Was it some kind of joke that made Bill and the others always park down this street? Tall buildings lined both sides, casting a shadow over the entire length. There were even a few sets of dumpsters they would have to walk by.

"There should be something along the waterfront up... a... head........." Alba slowed to a stop at the same time that his voice trailed out. A mix of emotions were on his face as he stared straight ahead where their street intersected the next, the dominant expression being something along the lines of stunned confusion. For a few seconds he just stood there, seeming to watch the groups of tourists shuffling by the intersection. The next moment, his eyes were probably the widest they could possibly go. "OH SHI-!!" By the time he might've finished the hushed, strangled expletives, he had already dived to the left and glued himself in a crouch against the wall and side of a dumpster, out of the view of where they had been headed. He looked for all the world as though a hoard of Spiritomb had just charged at him. Or maybe a hoard of Muk. It was hard to tell.

She nodded, knowing there had to be several restaurants along the water front, but the most concerning thing at the moment was when Alba suddenly stopped. Stopped speaking, stopped walking, stopped.. looking normal.... and.. "Um." Jumped behind a dumpster.

What.

She proceeded to stare for several moments, her eyebrows raised as high as they could go before slowly lowering - one all the way and the other partway in a confused expression. What the hell...? She shook her head slightly and turned instead, leaning nonchalantly against the building and proceeded to study her nails as if it was absolutely crucial they be as clean as possible while waiting for someone. Because she was waiting for someone. Waiting for someone to stop... hiding behind a dumpster. What.

"No! Claire-!" Alba tried to yell in a desperate whisper to stop her from leaving the wonderfully shaded side street with all of its convenient metal bins and Arceus be damned why did they have to be so close to the corner before he noticed the-

"Eeh!" That sound... did not come from Alba. Face paling, he hesitantly looked down already knowing and dreading what he would see. As expected, a crescent of cream colored fur on a mostly pink, small, feline face and body peered around the metallic corner at him.

Alba looked like he wanted to be sick. "Uh, eheh... Heeeey, Mitts." He offered a timid wave and painfully forced smile. Maybe, just maybe, the tiny ball of fur wouldn't hate him so much anymore?

After a frozen moment of locked gazes, the Skitty arched its back, and... hissed.

NOPE! Still hating!!!

Violet eyes were drawn to the Skitty as it... hissed at Alba. It had been obvious when he'd jumped behind the dumpster that he was avoiding someone, but she didn't realize there would be a cat involved. How could... ah. He didn't seem pleased to see it anyway, so she figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to get rid of it, otherwise the people he was trying to avoid would see him for sure. Not that she knew exactly who he was avoiding, but whatever.

She discreetly pulled a ball from her belt and hid it behind her to release a very playful Growlithe into the shadows of the alley. Artemis swiveled her head around before bright orange eyes zeroed in on the Skitty. With an excited bark she bounded towards it before attempting to pounce on it in order to play.

Skitty's were supposed to be like adorable little kittens. All pink and round and fluffy and loving. This one, Alba had decided years ago, had to be a freak of nature. It was evil! If the beast could smirk, it was doing just that.

"Now, Mitts," Alba started, trying to raise himself enough from the ground to at least attempt confidence. "You remember those shoes I used to like?" The Skitty frowned and tilted its head. Alba managed a cold glare back, and said flatly, "I could always use a new pair." The Skitty seemed to get the message and angled its body away from him. Oh no. What if that didn't work? Now she was going to run back, and she'd lead S-

A bark caught the attention of cat and man alike. A horrified shriek escaped the furball before she jumped out of the way of the overly happy Growlithe, and tore out of the alley and across the street, fur on end.

Artemis cocked her head to the side when she missed the feline that escaped and ran from the alley, but this wouldn't deter her, oh no! Barking happily - continuously - she charged out of the alley and had every intention of following the Skitty across the stre--

"Artemis, heel."

The Growlithe froze mid-bound and nearly tumbled to the pavement in her attempt to stop immediately, then she turned and trotted over to plop herself down by Claire. "Good dog."

The fire-type looked like she'd been sent to a blissful, bacon-filled heaven.

Claire, on the other hand, continued to remain nonchalantly leaning against the wall, still waiting for Alba to emerge, while Artemis simply stared after the Skitty. Would it come back? She hoped it would, she wanted to play!
